Some months ago, Airtel launched a data plan that is exclusive to BB user which cost NGN 1,000 for 3GB with a period of 3 months. Unlike other Airtel BB plans, this plan doesn’t work on other devices normally, but with a few tweak, you can make it work on your Android phone. Phones / Infinix Hot 2 Vs Infinix Hot 3 by Astutechris(m): 6:52am On Apr 12, 2016 |
Ever since the specs of the Hot 3 were revealed, many have wondered if there is really any difference between Hot 2 and Hot 3 aside the screen size. In this post, we will put the Hot 3 and the Hot 2 head-to-head and see if there is any reason to dish out your Hot 2 and go get the Hot 3 or perhaps forget the Hot 3 and stick with your Hot 2. A Brief Overview of the Two Devices Infinix Hot 2 was launched sometime last year with Android One OS, within a short time, it became the hottest selling smartphone at that time. On the other hand, Hot 3 is the latest smartphone from Infinix and it is acclaimed as the smartphone that gives your the hottest selfie. Let’s look at the comparison in details… The Design Infinix Hot 2 feature a design that is similar to the Zero series. It is sleek and fits well into the palm. The device is also said to be built with ‘damage resistance’ frame. On the other hand, the Hot 3 came with a unique design and the body of the device is processed with a fine diamond texture. Both devices feature great design. It is up to you to choose the one you prefer, after all beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. The Display Infinix Hot 3 is a 5.5-inch smartphone whereas the Hot 2 is a 5-inch smartphone. Both devices feature HD display and the same screen resolution, which is 720 x 1280. Since both devices feature the same screen resolution but different screen size, that means that their pixel per inch (PPI) will also differ. The Hot 3 has a PPI of 267 while Hot 2 has a PPI of 294. Technically speaking, what this means is that the Hot 2 will offer a better display than the Hot 3, but in actual sense, this is hardly noticeable. In terms of screen size, while some users may prefer 5 inches due to comfort, other users that play games a lot or stream a lot of videos with their device may prefer a bigger screen. The choice is up to the reader. Operating System and Processor Both devices are powered by quad-core MediaTek processor clocking at a speed of 1.3 GHz. As already mentioned, Hot 2 came with Android One OS while Hot 3 came with the regular Android OS with the Infinix User Interface (XUI). If you want to know the difference between the two OS, please visit here. It may interest you to know that some users are already flashing their device with custom ROM because they consider the Android One interface to be ‘boring’. Both devices came with Android 5.1 Lollipop, but it is worth mentioning that the Hot 2 is already getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade. The Camera Both devices came with 8+2 MP camera. However, the Hot 3 camera has some amazing features that makes it a clear winner in this area. These features include: Soft flash for the front camera Smile recognition (smart recognition for smiles) Gesture recognition (fun selfies) Voice recognition (smart recognition for the phrase “capture” or “ cheese”) Timed photos (great for selfies) Touch capture (touch screen for instant focus and capture) Focus Tracking (essential tool for spontaneous capture). The Battery Hot 2 came with 2200mAh battery capacity whereas the Hot 3 features 3000mAh battery capacity with charge pal. Again the Hot 3 is the clear winner here. Price Both devices are reasonably priced, though the Hot 3 is a little more expensive that the Hot 2 (75 USD for Hot 3 and 70 USD for Hot 2), but both devices absolutely worth their respective prices. That's a great observation @OP, but I think you should also consider the importation expenses and tax. They have to make profit you know. Overall I think the Hot 3 is a nice phone. 1 Like |
