I only said Mr David Lyon was the LEAST educated governor-elect from Bayelsa State since the creation of the state. I didn't say David Lyon had no formal education.

Bayelsa receives FAR more than Lagos and yet is less than Oshodi-Isolo LG (not to talk of khgh LG)

My only concern is the qualification of the person elected to lead an important state like Bayelsa. There are many well educated Bayelsans that will perform more than David Lyon.
Electing a mildly educated so-called business man to lead a strategic state is not just a shame but regrettable.

I'm an advocate of accountability, good governance, justice, equity and peace.
It takes formal education to understand the importance of these things. The country is in chaos, we're in a totalitarian and dictatorial regime because the leader has no knowledge of the tenets of democracy and how to uphold the rule of law.

Any nation that doesn't value education or qualification is doomed to fail.

It's no longer news that Mr David Lyon of the APC has emerged winner of the just concluded keenly contested gubernatorial election in Bayelsa State. Though the election was marred with all forms of electoral malpractices and irregularities, the emergence of David Lyon is another testament that education in our dear country is not only unnecessary for political positions but also a big disadvantage.

Just like his mentor, our dear president, Mr Buhari was re-elected recently without original SSCE certificate and was even declared 'eminently' qualified by the highest court in the land, the supreme court.

Since the creation of Bayelsa State in 1996 the state has had brilliant brains as governors, even during the time of military administrators. This is contrary to what's achievable in many states were certificate forgers and SSCE holders were voted to govern.

From 1999 till date all Bayelsa governors were either BSc or PhD holders; the declaration of David Lyon with a meager NCE certificate as the winner of Saturday's election has totally bastardized this enviable record.

I'm in no way trying to belittle NCE holders but for the fact that people with BSc and even PhD have governed the State meant Bayelsans were not supposed to settle for less especially when there were more than 20 candidates with higher degrees

The election of Mr Buhari and Mr David Lyon into prominent political positions in our country is a beckon of hope for touts, uneducated political thugs, certificate forgers and prominently unqualified citizens of Nigeria.

What a shame!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anything that will bring job opportunity to our people is wholly welcome.
If not for the government's not so friendly policies, foreign investments would have scattered everywhere.
