RevDesmondJuju:When Osun budgeted 216.7billion in 2014 (link below) far more than those of more economically viable states, we raised alarm but the shophisticated ones mocked us that Osun was more viable than other states.. Now after the reggae is the blues.. It will probably take the state 50 years to clear their debt profile https://www.nairaland.com/1576135/osun-n216.7bn-ondo-n162bn-present |
DaBullIT:No, it's either my fault or GEJ's fault... FYI Osun received 1.6 billion in FG allocations for the month but after servicing debts only 55 million was left to the state... Now, what did he use these loans to do? |

Shophisticated ![]() |
How art the "shophisticated" state fallen... The government should put the state up for sale.. I think may Governor may want to buy to expand his Agriculture policy |
Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has said that all States must look inward for survival as funds coming to them from the federation account can no longer support their development projects. He said, “We must at this point tell ourselves the truth, there is no money coming from the Federation account, 34 million barrels of Nigeria’s crude oil are on the sea without buyers”. “Money coming from the Federation Account has dipped seriously and our hope for survival is in our hands, what our forefathers lived on was agriculture. “We must now go back to the farms and work. We also need to pay our taxes so that government can meet its responsibilities”. “For September, our state got N55.8 million. The money we received cannot pay for the power supply by Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) that we use at the state Secretariat monthly”, The Governor lamented. http://www.thebreakingtimes.com/we-must-tell-ourselves-the-truth-osun-got-n55-8-million-for-september-aregbesola/ https://www.nairaland.com/2769753/there-no-money-rely-federal |

Many people don't know that this noodles is produced in Nnewi and they ae fairly competing with indomie nationally. The owner would have decided to move his company to lagos like others do with flimsy excuses. My only problem with businesses based in igboland is marketing and media coverage.. They (for reasons best known to them) don't invest in media marketing of their products. They are yet to understand the power of the media. Many don't even have functioning websites.

herringbone:You need to put you thinking cap on. There is nothing wrong with igbos investing outside igboland but they must atleast make igboland the headquarters of their businesses... Tummy Tummy noodles is selling today in all parts of Nigeria from Nnewi, same with Innoson, Juhel Pharmacy products, etc. The problem is when igbos abandon igboland to go and root their business elsewhere in Nigeria boosting the IGR of those states while facing hostile socio-conomic risks in their host communities. |

The Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has declared Anambra the safest state in Nigeria. The governor stated this today at the Golden Jubilee of Episcopal Consecration of His Eminence Francis Cardinal Arinze at the Basilica Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha. Welcoming visitors from all parts of the world and Nigeria who joined the congregation at the Holy Mass , Governor Obiano declared, " I welcome you to enjoy the peace and tranquility we have in our state. As you celebrate with His Eminence Cardinal Francis Arinze, I want you all to know that Anambra is the safest state in Nigeria, and by the grace of God will continue to be so in the years ahead." The governor who paid glowing tributes to Francis Cardinal Arinze on the fifty years of Episcopal consecration, stated: " I am very happy to be at this ceremony to honour one of our own. His Eminence is first in many areas, he is one of the few who became Bishop after just seven years after his ordination as Priest, he is now over thirty years as a Cardinal and was almost a Pope. I am also happy that Blessed Iwene Tansi is from Anambra state and also my Uncle. God has kept the Cardinal healthy in his vineyard, and we look forward to the day he will be celebrating the one hundred years of Episcopal ordination." In his tribute to the celebrant, the former Head of State Gen. Yakubu Gowon, who embraced with Francis Cardinal Arinze, thanked God for the grace He gave him to shepherd the flock Catholic faithful and Christians over years. As Gowon put it; "You are my brother in Christ and I pray that God will continue to bless and keep you." Earlier, Apostolic Nunsio to Nigeria, Most Rev. Augustine Kasujja commended the celebrant and observed:," I have no doubt that there is God's invisible hand in His Eminence Cardinal Francis Arinze.Today's celebration coincides with the visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to Africa and also a time when the largest number of Africans in Uganda would be canonized." On his part, President of Conference of Catholic Bishop of Nigeria,Most Rev. Ignatius Kaigama, described Francis Cardinal Arinze as "A wonderful ecclesiastical personality." www.thenigerianvoice.com/news/198030/1/golden-jubilee-of-episcopal-ordination-of-cardinal.html
