To all APC rats please say this prayer daily. Your lies will never take you anywhere in this country. 1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. 4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. 5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. 6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. 7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. 9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. 12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. |
Ihedioha shuns Tambuwal’s suit as court re-affirms order Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, on Friday shunned the proceedings of the Federal High Court in Abuja, during a hearing in the suit filed by the Speaker, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal, to stop any moves aimed at removing him from office. The court had on November 3, ordered Ihedioha and other defendants in the suit to appear in court on Friday. Justice Ahmed Mohammed asked the parties to appear on Friday to show cause why the court should not grant the prayer of the plaintiffs seeking an order of interim injunction to restrain the defendants from taking any step to remove Tambuwal from office. Apart from Ihedioha, other defendants were represented by their lawyers in court in response to the court’s order to show cause. But the judge confirmed that Ihedioha was absent from court despite having been served with all the court processes including a copy of the “order to show cause.” The other defendants in the suit are the PDP, its National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, the House of Representatives, Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Suleiman Abba; the Independent National Electoral Commission and Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr. Mohammed Adoke. But Justice Mohammed at the Friday’s proceedings affirmed his earlier order directing parties to maintain status quo by refraining from taking any step capable of destroying the subject matter in the suit. The judge however, declined to make any order restoring Tambuwal’s security details, who were withdrawn by police authorities and the Department of State Services, upon his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress. The court rather than restore Tambuwal’s security detatials, granted accelerated hearing in the suit in order to determine the case expeditiously. Tambuwal, whose travails started upon his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress, had in his suit filed on October 31, accused Ihedioha of being part of those plotting for his removal from office. The Speaker, who was personally present in court on Friday, was accompanied by the National Deputy Chairman of the APC (South), Mr. Segun Oni, and the National Vice Chairman of the party (North-West) Mr. Inua Abdukadri. Both Oni and Abdukadri were in court to represent the APC, which is the second plaintiff in the suit. The court adjourned till November 17 for hearing the substantive suit along with the preliminary objections filed in the suit. http://www.punchng.com/news/ihedioha-shuns-tambuwals-suit-as-court-re-affirms-order |
Mu`azu, gains respite as suit challenging his PDP chairmanship withdrawn - Abuja – Two suites seeking the removal of Alhaji Adamu Mu`azu as National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were on Thursday withdrawn. This was disclosed by the legal counsel to the two aggrieved members of the party, Mr Elochukwu Nweke, at a news conference in Abuja. The aggrieved members, Mr Emmanuel Onu and Mr Ezionye Ndubuisi, in separate suits in September and October filed legal action at the Federal High Court in Abuja. They were seeking the removal of Mu’azu as PDP’s national chairman in their suits, which had INEC and PDP as interested parties. The plaintiffs faulted the process that produced Mu’azu as chairman of the party, saying it was not known to the party’s constitution. Mu’azu, it would be recalled, emerged chairman of PDP in February through the ratification of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party. This followed the resignation of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, the party`s immediate past national chairman. Confirming the development, Nweke told newsmen at the national headquarters of the PDP that: “We wish to officially announce that we have withdrawn the suit seeking to remove the PDP national chairman from office.” He stated that the decision of his clients to withdraw the suit was in “the best overriding interest of the party and in view of fresh evidence, letter and documentation from INEC”. This, he said, confirmed the validity of the appointment of Mu’azu as acting PDP national chairman and ongoing constitutional process by the PDP to ratify anomalies raised in their suits. He said the aggrieved members had filed a different notice of discontinuance of the suit at the Federal High Court, Abuja, and that the court had officially served all parties. This, he said, brought an end to the legal challenge over the appointment of Mu’azu. Nweke, however, said he was not aware of any settlements to his clients by the national chairman of the PDP. He said: “We are instructed by plaintiff to withdraw the matter and that is what we have done.” He further said that the legal action taken by their client has prompted the party to do the right thing with regards to the chairmanship of Mu’azu. “As we pointed out, there is an ongoing process to elect national executive members. “If the plaintiff had not done that, I doubt if they will do the right thing,” he said. LAGOS—Scores of suspected pipeline vandals were Thursday feared killed in a massive inferno that gutted a petroleum pipeline belonging to Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, at Ijedodo area of Lagos State. Vanguard gathered that some suspected pipeline vandals, had besieged the pipeline around 6pm and were said to be scooping petroleum product into jerry cans. It was gathered that an argument ensued among the vandals as they were scooping the PMS, while one of them ignited the fire that caused a massive explosion that set the entire area on fire. Residents of Ijedodo and Abulado areas who witnessed the massive inferno called on the authorities to expedite actions and put out the fire. Meanwhile, Vanguard could not confirm the number of casualties as the fire was still raging at the time of fling this report but South West spokesman for National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Ibrahim Farinloye, in a text massage confirmed the explosion. Let's look at 14 years of PDP. The difference is clear.

Ultimately, when the Buhari government could not come up with any viable economic programme, it resorted to the politicization of its economic ignorance by selling the notion that the government was a bulwark against the imperialist Bretton Woods institutions. But that can only take you so far, because while fighting the international community and international financial institutions over differences in policies that could have been resolved with a better and more intelligent engagement with all national and international stakeholders, the austerity measures the regime introduced made it quite impossible for the manufacturing sector to procure raw materials in the face of the international capital market being closed against Nigeria. Industries were closing, left, right and centre and capacity utilization was below 18 percent and at every point, the government was seeking scapegoats for its woes in the form of politicians, illegal aliens, smugglers and currency traffickers, etc. But the reality was there for all to see in workers being retrenched in every sector and even in the public sector. I remember at the time how drastically our lives changed as university students as we dramatically witnessed the rise in the prices of fees, feeding, accommodation and procurement of books, even as the lack of these books became the norm. Inflation hit the roof and essential commodities became scarce. The regime’s key economic policy in response to all this was to resort to the medieval counter-trade economic policy. But this became the new corruption point for the regime presided over by the new import licence czar, Mahmud Tukur. Attempts by some bold journalists to report on the corruption in the counter-trade deals were met with unprecedented brutality. They were picked up and threatened with charges of economic sabotage as a warning to their other colleagues. https://www.nairaland.com/1980406/think-buhari-not-part-1983 |
lasher1:Why don't you just Google and do some of your own research and tell us, by how many percentage points the economy contracted between 1983-1985. Then tell us why. You can post whatever information you find from your accurate unbiased information sources of these timelines. |
