dearpreye: Nothing do you! Follow your heart Bro.
Even when we appear to be supporting the same cause, we may still go about it differently.
Shalom Bro. I hope you don't misunderstand my cause, I supported Jonathan because Freedom was my goal. But like my forebearers in the Old Midwest, we have patience and resilience. This is not our first battle ground. "The cause of freedom is not the cause of a race or a sect, a party or a class-it is the cause of human kind, the very birthright of humanity". dearpreye: I'm sure you know not the meaning of an IMPOSTOR as regards my post. And anyone with healthy dose of self esteem like me won't go about seeking people's emails on a faceless forum.
And for the records, I've stopped doing things to get approval or validation from others. I'm well above that.
If my call for supporting the President didn't go do well with you, that's YOUR call. That's your business.
Those who know me know what I stand for. GEJ is very dear to me but truth is dearer!
Happy Sunday!!!!! Best of lucky, you don't need my validation for nothing. As you have noticed on this forum, I tried not to quote you, there was a reason for that. Happy Sunday too. |

[s] zik4ever: With due respect to everyone, I don’t see any gain in calling Jonathan clueless or Buhari brainless. Jonathan is gone and Buhari took over 24 hours ago, retaining (at least for now) the same Service Chiefs. The killings are condemnable, reprehensible and unacceptable. Something has to be done to check this Boko Haram madness and other reported and unreported killings across Northern Nigeria; check violent crimes including armed robbery and kidnapping across the country. We don’t expect miracles but surely, Buhari's tenure should be very easy to assess! I really don’t envy him. Rather, I wish him well. This thing is really a problem and all national resources and might must be applied to deal with it to its roots. Beyond Boko Haram, religious radicalism is a time bomb and I can tell you, some other radical elements are still underground. For all those lobbying to be National Security Adviser etc that we read about online, I hope they are up to it and not just singing regional or sentimental song to get the job? [/s] |

poundlander: sometimes i can't but wonder why some people have problem with comprehension.as clearly stated in the piece, nobody question whether the Niger Deltans contribute greatly towards Nigerian economy, but only asked whether they are really MARGINALIZED, as their elders and leaders made it to look. You failed your own thread. You questioned their allocation , my question to you is what you are contributing for your own allocation. Then we can put your marginalisation nonsense in context. Next time prepare your brief well. |

Politics › Re: The Marginalized South- Southern NIGER- DELTA by atlwireles: 2:56pm On May 30, 2015 |
poundlander: Oxford dictionary defines Marginalization as treatment of (a person, group, or concept) as insignificant or peripheral: The South southern Niger-Delta states consists of Rivers State (5,185,400) Delta State (4,098,391) Akwa Ibom State (3,920,208) Cross River State (2,888,966) Bayelsa State (1,703,358) Edo State (3,218,332) and a collective populations of 21, 014, 655.(http://www.informationng.com/2009/04/nigerian-states-by-population.html) The states; Akwa ibom (135. 84bn), Rivers (99.67bn), Delta (95. 77), Bayelsa (82. 04bn) Edo (30. 27bn) Cross river (26. 50bn) collectively receives a whopping allocation of N470. 09bn from the Federal Government between January- June 2014. (Many thanks to 13% oil derivation formula). The region has 2 special ministries; Ministry of Niger-Delta Affairs and Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC specifically setup to alienate the suffering of the people of the region. Also, it was reported that the amnesty programme which has been engaged in the training of youths of the region at various institutes in Ghana, South Africa, the Philippines, Russia, Ukraine and India, amongst others, has gulped $1 billion since 2009. The amnesty programme should be a holistic plan to be vigorously pursued to provide the Niger Delta region a face-lift and empower the people, especially in view of the failure of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs to justify their existence.(http://dailyindependentnig.com/2013/05/niger-delta-amnesty-programme-and-fgs-1b expenditure/) Comparatively, the North West, the alleged region marginalizing the other and most populous region of the country with a population of 35, 786, 944 receives an allocation of N255.98bn from the Federal government within the same duration. (https://www.nairaland.com/2244965/revenue-allocation-states-nigeria-fg). Conclusively, the “marginalized” Niger-Deltans has a per capita allocation of N22, 408. 17, while the ALLEGED marginalizer, the North West has a per capita allocation of N7, 152. 89. A paltry 32% of per capita allocation of the “marginalized” Niger-Deltans. The Niger Delta deservedly merited the whopping allocation allotted to the region for being the region where the largest revenue of the country is being generated. But they are no way MARGINALIZED, in fact the TWIST is, they are just an OLIVER.
NB: #Copied. saw this interesting, revealing and analyzing piece on a friend's facebook page and decided to share it. Who called the northwest the marginaliser? Is the Northwest now the Nigerian state? By the way what is the contribution of the Northwest to that N7,152 per capital allocation. |

mrmetoo1: Who's a patriot? Someone that looks away even though their elected officials are failing at their responsibilities because he's in love with a politician or someone that criticizes objectively so that the official can perform better.
Constructive criticism is meant to make people go back and work harder or do something better because at the end of the day no one is perfect but to you guys criticizing is the same thing is hating Show me the constructive criticism, from 99% of recently converted APC patriots on NL. Then I will take you serious. I am here to give Buhari the same treatment you people gave Jonathan. Call it whatever you like. |
