Getting a new hostel can be frustrating at times. As you don’t get to get one with all the specifications you want. My experience in the student estate management sector has made me realize that you can’t get a house with all the specifications you want, no matter how much you try. But a house with 4 or 5 of these features will go a long way to making you comfortable as well as saving you some costs. Here are some features you should check when next you are getting a new hostel off campus.
1. Ceiling fan
A house with a ceiling fan will save you a lot of cost on buying a standing fan that sells for around #4000.
2. Kitchen cabinet
This will make your kitchen look nice and well arranged. Saving you the stress of thinking about where to put what.
3. A good water system
A house with a good water system will help you do many things easily like flushing the closet, washing cloth and ditches and other cleaning activities. As house without this can scare you of using the toilet.
4. Tiles
A well tiled apartment will save you the cost of getting a carpet or rug
5. Wardrobe
Like kitchen cabinet, a wardrobe will also make your room look neater and well-arranged as most of your luggage can be stored in it.
6. Iron door
Most student environment will be characterized by high stealing rate, a house with an iron door will save you from being a victim
7. Fence/security
This will also save you from being a victim of theft
8. And of course, Electricity
The sad thing about most rents is that they don’t have good electricity. Probably their line has been disconnected or they don’t have electricity from the onset. But you should look for a house with good electricity, especially those with prepaid meter, this will save you cost, time and the stress of having to go to school or to a friend’s house before you can use electricity.

A good customer service will earn you more clients and of course more sales. The following are tips you will need
1. Let your customer feel the products
To get more sales, you have to get your product closer to your customers. A friend of mine ones told me why he never patronize a store and why he patronize another instead is that he get to feel (touch) the products from the later store. Let them have a taste of the product, this strategy is used by the so called 'Mesuya' to sell more meat
2. Give them multiple options
As human being, we love to select from several options as opposed to being limited to one. That is why Shoprite sell more than any grocery store.
3. Always deliver on time
Make sure you meet your customer’s expectation on time even if it means losing new ones. From my experience in business, I have learnt that the best way to get long lasting customers is by referral. People will believe recommendation from a loyal customer of yours than what you personally tell them.
4. Be sincere
If you can’t deliver a sale at a particular period of time, never say you can. Always tell the truth.
5. Have a return policy
your customers will trust you more and of course will refer others if you have a return policy. This will help you build trust
6. Always ask for feedback
Always ask your customers what they think about your product or service. If you are rendering an online service, put a feedback box for users to send you how they feel about your products or service. This will give room for improvement.

Doing what people term as normal thing is good, being creative is better. Creativity is when you think out of the box or get rid of the box itself to find solution to a problem, it start from an early age of a child when he uses sand and paper to build houses, cars and other interesting things; its start from when he cry to draw his mother’s attention.
Everyone is borne creative. Yes everyone including you.
A lot of people have made a kick out of what was believe by some people to be unproductive. Things like:Writing, e-commerce, Banking, the internet e.t.c
Internet as we know it today have make people rich, as the richest people in the world make their riches from internet. People like Bill Gates, Jack Ma and our own Nigerian youths like Seun Osewa of Nairaland, Abdullahi Tosin of Naijawriterscoach are making a living and more from their creative thinking.
Authors like J.K Rowlings have also been renowned and known by most people in the world because of her creativity, her ability to think out of the box.
All these people start from somewhere, and you as well can start from somewhere to make more than a living.
Some months ago i was broke and i try to think of ideas on how to make money, i came up with two actually but both of them require capital to start. One requires about a million naira but the other i can afford, so i ventured into it.
The idea was to create a website where students, like me, can get off campus accommodation. I realize i need to give it a name students can easily remember. I finally call it OFFKRENTS(OFF CAMPUS(K) RENTS). On launching this website of mine (www.offkrents.com). I started receiving calls from friends and other students who told me that it is a nice idea.
Jack Ma, CEO of Aliexpress and one of the richest people of the 21st century, once said that: the basic principle in business is to help others and by helping others you can as well help yourself. This is basically what i do on that website of mine.
Looking at the situation of the Nigerian economy, it is important that graduates be creative: Using their mind to think of how they can grow themselves and the economy at large. By helping yourself, you are helping our dear nation which means the nation have one less indigene to care about. Creating chance for others. So think of what you can start doing today, that will make you proud and self reliant. It might be anything. Just think of something you are good at and start doing it.
Or look for a problem that affect people around you and think of a easy solution, but don’t let money be the motive of everything you do. Trust me money will come while you help others solve their problem.
