I just read this post and I couldn't resist replyingnas this is my first post on nairaland. Man, no ills intended most the things you said are correct, but you suger coated it a lot. A lot will come to Russia based on this post and get frustrated.

You made the Russians look great in a lot of things. I 1000% agree they are not racists directly, but indirectly they are racists (subconsciously and I subconsciously). As someone who has been studying and working here(am not talking of the menial 1k rubles job) for 3 years you left a lot of the bad details and just focusing on the sweet details.
Get frustrated, because we all want to get Rich quick, we do not want ro relax and learn the language, work and save, build your future. People goes to Russia and gets frustrated because they were lied to that they can enter Germany from poland and when they get here, they find out is was a lie amd they get frustrated.

People gets frustrated because the come to Russia with tourist visa and when it expires they stay back intead of leaving the country.

Please come here a get frustrated because they're lazy. I have been living in Russia heading to 4 years now, married to a Russian, and everything is fine for me. Nothing good comes easy!

I didn't sugar coat anything, this is just a snipet, if you want to know more and hpw to survive in Russia, i will tell you that in details.

WE BACK HOLIDAYS, BACK TO BUSINESS THE HOUSE IS OPEN FOR QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT RUSSIA
Austeen007:
Russia!

Every one of us would not deny that we haven’t read or heard one or 2 weird stories about Russia.

If not. At least, you must have heard the following that;

Russians are racists; they do not like black People.

Russian spits on black people on the streets
Russians kills black people or Africans in the streets of Moscow.

Russia is not a place for a black man to travel to; Especially Nigerians.

I get often asked 2 particular questions from most Nigerians about Russia;

“How is the racism there, I heard they’re racist?
The Good News is that I have been living in Russia for almost 3 years now and no one cares about my skin color.

Russians are very helpful people when you ask for help.

“Russia is too cold.” But little did they know that Canada is colder than Russia.

Though, before I moved to Russia I also had read and heard so many weird things about Russia and the advice was “if you’re African, dark skinned don’t go to Russia."

I almost forfeited my visa lol!

But, I took the hard decision, disregarding all I have read and took a shot at it.

When I got to Russia’s Domododevo airport in Moscow I was expecting to be sent back to Africa, Nigeria for being black.

Clearly, nobody cared about my very dark skin tone.

For those who looked only did in admiration and ask to take a photo with me.

My 3 years in Russia has been awesome, far from what I expected.

Recently, I went spending time in the Russian Dacha (Country House) in Nigeria we call village house.

My 90 day experience in the Russian dacha was awesome too.

People where friendly and often asked to take a photo with me.

Remember, you must learn how to understand Russian to be able to start a conversation. Or you can either make use of a Yandex or Google Translator.

Observations:
Many of the things we have read or heard about Russia, isn’t true.

I’d not be able to write all of my experience in Russia so far

If you have any question about Russia ask me I’ll answer them in a knowledgeable truth around my experiences so far.

"Electoral Collage isn't an institution?" Even INEC is regarded as an institution. I do not know what your understanding about what the contextual meaning of an institution is.

"So Putin as a former KGB opreatives turned President , knows this but simply hope for some illegal supreme court decision to favour his stooge Trump"

Like I said a sensible person will not congratulate a winner based on " media projected winner." Putin waited fr the official results to be announced, he didn't wait for the supreme court, but for the electoral institution to confirm Biden as a winner of the US 2020 election.

Now let me take you a "logical what if?"

What if Putin has Rushed into congratulating Biden based on the Media projection and later on the 'Electoral institution,' turns around and published a final result that says otherwise?

As I said earlier, the Russian President V. Putin congratulated Biden at the right time. And do not make it look like being a KGB agent is a sin. The KGB is a thing of the past which existed in the defunct soviet union (USSR) that constituted about 15 countries including Russia.

Electoral Collage isn't an institution

For every states won by Democrats, State Democrat leaders nominate a card carrying member to vote unbehalf of the entire state in Washington, same as state won by Republicans, and number of voters to be nominated per state and per party is determined by population demographics

So Putin as a former KGB opreatives turned President , knows this but simply hope for some illegal supreme court decision to favour his stooge Trump

Speak for yourself.

Putin is a smart and Educated president and shouldn't Run into congratulating Biden at a time when he was just a Projected winner of the 2020 US election.

A sensible person will wait for confirmation from an institution such as the electoral college. Not a win Projected by the Media. Putin waited for the official result and he sent his congratulations at the right time.

Wake up, bro.

PoliticsPutin Finally Congratulates Biden After The Electoral College Confirmed His Win by Austeen007(op): 11:41am On Dec 15, 2020
Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a congratulatory telegram to U.S. President-elect Joe Biden after the Electoral College confirmed his win, the Kremlin announced Tuesday.

Putin is one of the last world leaders to congratulate the president-elect, with his message coming six weeks after the Nov. 3 vote in which Biden defeated incumbent President Donald Trump. The Kremlin maintained that it would wait until the election results were officially confirmed to congratulate Biden.

Putin wished Biden success and expressed confidence that “Russia and the U.S., which bear special responsibility for global security and stability, can, despite their differences, really contribute to solving many problems and challenges that the world is currently facing.”

He added that “Russian-American cooperation based on the principles of equality and mutual respect would meet the interests of the peoples of both countries and the entire international community.”

“For my part, I am ready for interaction and contacts with you,” Putin said.

The announcement comes shortly after U.S. media reports of hackers linked to Russian intelligence services breaching several U.S. agencies. Russia has denied the allegations published in Reuters and The Washington Post.

Ties between the U.S. and Russia have hit post-Cold War lows in recent years, exacerbated by Moscow’s 2014 annexation of Crimea, the conflict in eastern Ukraine, and allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

The OP has not been to Russia, nor lived in Russia for over 3 years. A lot of Africans Studied in the USSR and present-day Russia. Many of them married here have kids and have a cool job and live the Russian Life and they have no issue with Russians. Their documents are complete. Although everyone has their experience and such experience is born our of our behaviors.

The OP is swimming in archaic Propaganda, the only proof he has was a link from western media. He needs to live n Russia for 3 to 5years to substantiate his claim usurped from the propaganda machines of the west.

The same Propaganda is still being spread about Russia's vaccine Sputnik V.

I think Nigerians should stop watching too many Hollywood movies and believing what they see in those movies.

CrimeSerial Killer Who Killed 26 Elderly Women Arrested By Russian Authorities by Austeen007(op): 4:12pm On Dec 03, 2020
Russian authorities have detained a man suspected of murdering dozens of elderly women in the republic of Tatarstan and nearby regions nearly a decade ago.

Unofficially known as the “Volga maniac,” the murderer has been linked to the killings of anywhere from 19 to 32 female pensioners, most of whom were strangled to the death between March 2011 and September 2012. Investigators said that the suspect may have posed as a social services worker to enter the apartments of the women, who were between 75 and 90 years old and lived alone.

Radik Tagirov, 38, was detained by law enforcement officers in Kazan on Tuesday as part of a criminal investigation into 26 of the murders, the Investigative Committee that probes major crimes said. The committee’s statement said investigators carried out thousands of tests to identify the suspect.

Tagirov confessed following his detention, investigators said.

I'd advise you to do your in-depth search using google, or Russian Yandex Browser to search the schools, visit their websites to find the International student section o their site. Write them a comprehensive mail asking about their admission for foreign and Preparatory language course and the tuition fee.

I will not want to make a statement concerning Tuition fees, the schools/Institution have the sole right to say that.

I might have to tell you a price and soon the school changes and it would look as if I lied. So I often advise people to get that done. I'll only offer advice that will guide you away from scams. And also stories that will educate you on life in Russia and how to adapt quickly.

Meanwhile: I'll leave you with this link: 7 reasons and Benefits of becoming a Russian citizen And the Requirements.

Their site should translate into English. if you're using google chrome. or install google translator on your phone so it can allow you to translate the page. Or you can try on PC the right click on the page and translate.

But since you're accessing their site from From Nigeria it should automatically display the English version of the site to you.

TravelRe: Nigerian Girl In Russia Talks About Life In Russia, Racism And What Life Is Like by Austeen007(m): 7:05pm On Dec 02, 2020
Russians are mixed, with over 200 different ethnic groups, The Slavs, the Mongols, Tartars, Turkmens, and much other minority.

But the main Russians are the Slavs others became Russians through the war in medieval times. For example, The Tatars once invaded Russia and failed in Moscow somehow they became Russians. Mongol also attacked Russia at the time it was Rus and Russian managed to conquer them. although it had a small population but was strong they, later on, surrendered to be Russians.

Although, Russia has a European part and the Asian part. That is why we refer to Russia to be in Eurasia.

Today Russians don't consider themselves Europeans you might argue this but that the truth. If you have been with Russian you'll understand this.

And Europeans and Americans do not consider Russians as white nor Caucasians. You will know this if you're on Quora Join the Space THE RUSSIAN BEAR. There you learn a lot from European, American, and Russian Arguments. about who are whites and brown lol. PEOPLE BRAG ABOUT SKIN COLOUR THESE DAYS A LOT.

So that dude is to a certain extent correct that Russian do not see themselves as whites. But This is a very big argument between Americans, Russians, and Europeans.

Bifrost:
You're so confidently ignorant.

Russians are Caucasians, Caucasians are what we describe as whites.
TravelRe: Nigerian Girl In Russia Talks About Life In Russia, Racism And What Life Is Like by Austeen007(m): 6:45pm On Dec 02, 2020
If you understand me I'm writing from my experience. My article is fostered only on my experience in Russia. so I say there isn't racism in Russia I may have over-exaggerated. Reasons; because of the way the western media and people asked me how I cope in a racist country like Russia? I laugh and tell them that there is no racism in Russia. this s because I myself have not experienced racism before in Russia.

I have a brother who lived here 8 years he said he never encountered racism, though he's in Nigerian now, and told me he would be visiting Russia Anytime soon.

The truth is there are racists everywhere, But the Russian govt. do not Tolerate racism. Most of the people got claiming Nazism their leaders were all arrested and recently just yesterday Putin is speaking with veterans so they can start prosecution of these Nacist elements. They are not Originally Russians they are offsprings of the people the red army rescued in Germany during world war II. SO they are trying to build the nazist idea but Russia arrested them all.

Right now in Russia if any group forms to start any stupid racist, Nazism, or any cultist idea like the Skin-head the following Night FSB will crack them down.

I agree with you that Russia has its own cut on Racism but not as exaggerated as we hear or read on the media.

For record-keeping, the 2008 world cup was dubbed the best ever world cup.

I'd rather live in Russia than live in the US or Britain: The reason is that the Russian Govt cracks down on Racism and shuns it, But in the US, and UK they ignore it and let their white citizens get away with it.

I acknowledge your points and it is reasonable.

Thanks, Bro

Ugosample:
Mr. Austin
I have to tell you the truth
Recently I have been reading your topics and posts with keen interest
Very informative I must say
However I must point out a few things
1. Is Russia's racism problem blown out of proportion?
Yes.
2. Can a black man live in russia without having to always watch over his shoulder?
Yes
In fact I believe that a Nigerian stand a better chance surviving in Russia than South Africa
BUT
It is naive to think that Russia has NO RACISM PROBLEM
That's a BIG LIE
The perception of the racism problem may actually be bigger than the reality, but saying Russia has no racism problem is not true.
That said
I really enjoy your posts
When I have the time, I'll read through more

It will help a lot of people to understand what is it like before they move

Thanks bro
