Good for him. In as much as we criticize the police for their unprofessional attitudes and conducts, the much needed reform of the police will never come to be, without a corresponding reform of the weird mentality of Nigerians who continue to show rudeness and outright rascality to the men in uniform.

He should be dealt with in the same manner as the police that brutalize innocent citizens.

That's my take.

President Muhammadu Buhari has spoken on the rumours of his death, while he was on medical vacation outside the country in 2017.

Speaking on Sunday in Krakow, Poland, during an interactive session with the Nigerian community in the country, he said his deputy, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, who was acting president at the time, received a lot of embarrassment because people came to him (Osinbajo) to lobby for the vice-president position during the said period.

Buhari stated this while responding to the question on if he was cloned.

His words: "One of the questions that came up today in my meeting with Nigerians in Poland was on the issue of whether I‘ve been cloned or not. The ignorant rumours are not surprising. When I was away on medical vacation last year, a lot of people hoped I was dead.

"Poor Professor Yemi Osinbajo, even he had to deal with the rumours — some people reached out to him to consider them to be his Vice-President because they assumed I was dead. That embarrassed him a lot; we discussed it when he visited me while I was convalescing.

"I can assure you all that this is the real me. Later this month, I will celebrate my 76th birthday. And I’m still going strong!"

President Buhari is in Poland to attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference.

The Presidency says President Muhammadu Buhari departs Abuja on Friday for Paris, France.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the President is scheduled to participate in the first edition of the Paris Peace Forum slated for November 11 to 13.

Adesina said the forum, organised by the French Government and a number of Non-Governmental Organisations, was based on the “simple idea that international cooperation is key to tackling global challenges and ensuring durable peace.”

The presidential spokesman said the Nigerian President would join the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, and other world leaders in discussing contributions towards global peace while underscoring the imperative of collective action.

The statement added, “While in Paris, President Buhari will also join other world leaders to commemorate the centenary anniversary of the Armistice signed on November 11, 1918 between the Allied Forces and Germany in the forest of Compiegne in France to end the First World War.

“During his visit to Paris, President Buhari will attend a luncheon hosted by President Emmanuel Macron of France in honour of visiting heads of delegations.
“Before returning to Abuja, the President and his delegation will have an interactive session with the Nigerian community in France.”

Buhari, according to the statement, will be accompanied on the trip by three state governors and other top government officials.
They include Aminu Masari (Katsina); Willie Obiano (Anambra) and Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti).

Others include the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami; the National Security Adviser, Maj-Gen. Babagana Monguno (retd.; and the Director-General, National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Abubakar.

Yes, I love 'okrika' clothes In fact I buy them a lot! That distinctive 'okrika' scent is simply bliss to me, hmmm hmmm !! Come to think of it, why is it that most, if not all 'okrika' clothes smell that way, I mean those imported from outside Naija? Right from my kindergarten years till now, those second-hand clothes still smell the same. Do they spray a particular perfume on it? If yes, please what's the name of the perfume?
