Crime / Re: Oluwafemi Oyerinde Shot Dead In The US Over Loud Music by Austinleo: 1:58pm On Oct 15, 2019
Quote "This should serve as deterrence to other Nigerians who are noise makers in a foreign land" I bet you don't know what you are talking about. Playing music loud doesn't mean you are a nuisance. In America today, you can be walking on the street and someone steps on you and still shoot you while you are trying to call them to order. Did you even read the news last year when a guy shot another guy coming out of McDonald because the innocent guy didn't hold the door for his girlfriend? If you don't know, don't talk

I do not like when people like you just get up and talk just to talk. Sympathy after what you said doesn't make any sense brother.
If you can't travel out of Nigeria or have never been anywhere don't be envious and at the same time trying to sympathize.

Nukilia:
Heaven rest his soul!
This should serve as deterrence to other Nigerians who are noise makers in a foreign land.
You can't leave a confused nation like Nigeria where every kind of nuisance is allowed and go to the US and constitute nuisance to a sane society.

The way worship houses and clubs blast sound all over the country is a sign that our mental health as a nation needs to be properly assessed.

Whao!

Built2last:
First time I visited SA was like in 2000 or so.

Had a SA "Host"...we went to a club..

She told me "if people ask you, dont say you are Nigerian...."

"Why?" I asked

"SA men dont like Nigerians...they say Nigerians are taking their girls "

I laughed it off...

Then I was in a cab...the guy did not know I was Nigerian, he abused a guy in another car...said something about Nigeria..

so curious I asked...."what's the problem"

He said "These Nigeria people are taking our money because they dont fear white man"

The sentiment was already there...even worse for Somalians...

South Africa is going through a severe economic downturn, and whenever a nation is struggling, they lash out at foreigners.

South Africa today is really guilty for allowing this violence and killings define them...

This is on them...

You are right but not all. I live here and a Nigerian scammed me and i wasted over 25k on 3 cars in less than 2 years because someone i think i can trust was a liar. Buy and had to sell less than 5-6 month after because they were all bad from auction.

I had to start to learn to be independent from then. I do my thing myself now. Good thing is, there is a system, everything is online and i just make it work since then.

Lesson! Dont ever trust a Nigerian for nothing.

But we want to blame the govt. for everything

BabaAgba79:

This is just the beginning. I even wish all Nigerians migrants should be deported home if not because that their deportation would cause more evil in Nigeria. Last year, a trusted Nigerian of Hausa origin, Auwal, Mohammed Abubakar swindled me of 6,200 dollars equivalent to 2.3 million Naira with the promise to buy me a used Lexus 330 in the US. Many young Nigerians in the USA are mere swindlers. They have nothing doing. I work my ass out in Nigeria and made a saving of 2.3 million to be carted away by one idiot. In fact, they should all be rotted in Jail! Pls American and Canadian Embassies shut all Nigerians out! Stay here and work. No Nigerian will defraud me here!

These acts are affecting all our families and friends back home. Making things harder for all of us.

I'm so mad at those idiots arrested for scam and to think that I've seen some of them at Nigerian events in Los Angeles making noise up and down drives me crazy.
If those criminals know how their actions may affect some of us that serve this country in critical areas eeh.
I've vowed to dissociate myself from Nigerians for now in LA, no more Naija events and no more attending any of their useless meetings. Even their eateries, e better mek the eba and egwusi hungry me die.
I'm American now so let me live like one.

Religion / Re: Pastor Kumuyi: Women Who Wear Men’s Clothes Are An Abomination Unto God by Austinleo: 2:07pm On Apr 01, 2019
Totally agree with you. I'd believe specific trousers are made for women. I don't expect men to wear those and, some wrappers are made for men (Eastern People for example). Our pastors needs to stop messing around with our people by their own selfish standard because they want to sound different and be seen as special or seen as one who understands the bible more.
This are ways to confuse people and i feel bad for a lot of our people too.

HigherEd:
Well, it isn't religion that should determine what a man, woman wears or not. In Scotland men wear skirts, In certain parts of Nigeria men also wear wrappers, biblical Jews wear robes. Let everyone wear whatever their cultures allow... Messages of the church on dressing should end at decency.

I know this sermon reference regards women wearing trousers and I completely disagree that trousers are men wears. There are certain trousers men can't even wear... Can a man wear leggings or bumshort? By the way trousers is not even an invention of the Church therefore we can't determine who can wear it or not.

Probably the bible reference was even referring to cross dressers like bobrisky and denrele who intentionally identify with the opposite sex, not the average woman you see wearing jean trousers.

Believers of today should focus on preaching Jesus and unveiling his grace not showing people how unworthy they are. If you like fulfill the law in entirety if you don't have Jesus hell is your case.

Lastly, nobody is an abomination unto God, we've been saved by grace and by the precious blood of Jesus. It is His blood that qualifies us not our futile deeds. Thank you.

Politics / Re: Omoyele Sowore Tear-Gassed At Ooni Of Ife's Palace For Refusing To Prostrate by Austinleo: 12:35pm On Sep 14, 2018
I think you need to understand what bow in this context mean... I will prostrate or Bow for an elderly to show respect doesnt mean i see then as God or gods. Bending a lil when two people greet or are meeting in Asian culture is just a culture. So you need to get it right. I know we all want to go with the trend but me respecting you by bending my neck or knee doesnt mean anything bro.

When u knee as in the religion/worship context and have your forehead against the ground. Now that s another kind of bowing that you can justify by your mentality.

Ornament2003:

Politics / Re: Omoyele Sowore Tear-Gassed At Ooni Of Ife's Palace For Refusing To Prostrate by Austinleo: 3:34pm On Sep 11, 2018
Never seen a dumb comment like this before lol! Bowing to others is a sign of respect not making them God or putting them in the position of God. Culture be taught. Even the Bible or Quran are not against showing respect for whom it's due. Both Religion and tradition respect the order of kingship and elderly. They are never seen as God but as rulers. When you start calling them your God, treating/serving them is when it becomes idolatry...

People! Listen and pay more attention before you talk.

Thanks

TimeMachine:

Bowing down for another is an insult. In fact, it is an insult to bow down for any God. I think some Yorubas who bow for others are infected by some kind of virus that activates worship programs on their sub conscious level. I know not all Yoruba people bow for anyone. Not all will be so unlettered to do that. People like Mike Adenuga will never do such at his present level of understanding of the cosmic mechanics. He may have done so in the past based a level of ignorance.

I love all of things Yorubas stand for, but bowing down for anything whether physical or spiritual is a height of sophisticated ignorance.

Only sophisticated fools will disagree.

One hardly finds a sensible individual like you on forums like this bro.

(People talk out of hate and ill-feelings)

It s funny since most people just talk and believe everything the Media says. I feel sorry for a lot of Nigerians because they are the most less informed people on this planet. They sit in the shithole and just make comments without knowing what's going on.

Everybody hates Trump and everyone follows

I'm not Trump fan but, seeing a lot of Nigerians make comments about America and Trump when they never traveled out of the state were they were born is sad.

Russia is a developing country(https://www.investopedia.com/updates/top-developing-countries/). Yes they have weapons but can you be world power/fight war when you dont have adequate resources (Finance) or meet the requirements?

America remains world power and there is nothing Haters can do by just grudging.

People shoplift in the US or other countries and sell these stuffs for cut prices (Up to 90% less) or they use a credit card with minimum credit, charge it and have a number of days, (More than 30 days to return it) better still scammers use peoples cards with less money to purchase stuffs like this and sell it to them for cheap cheap cheap. Don't let these guys fool you or make you all feel downgraded pls.

Career / Re: Computer Enginnering Or Computer Science by Austinleo: 9:21pm On Jan 04, 2016
To Add to that too, Computer Engineering is more specialized and Could give you all the knowledge you want. Truth is Computer Science touch base everything without a specific skill being learnt. Engineering is specific. If he wants to be good in programming then, finish your Bachelors and get trained in Programming as a Certified programmer. Mind you no school 4 year computer Science training trains you to be a real Certified IT Admin, Engr, or Architect. You need to advance and Learn more by getting Certified. Just a piece of Advice. I am an IT Engr and that is all i can say per my own opinion. So even if you Do computer Science, You still need Specialized training to be what you want to be.

Ok.... But i see people wey still no get sense to know where to start from..... Person wey go do this needs more than enough alternative roads for commuters...

Question is: Even with the info, will commuters have alternative roads to go around the traffic? Smdh!!! Bad planners

Start by fixing roads first and creating various alternative routes and you wouldn't have to spend too much on Traffic Report Navi Systems....

Note: In other (Developed) countries, even with all that (Traffic Report Systems, Many Alternative Routes e.t.c) Traffic is inevitable

I think i can provide a little bit of help here.... Just a breakdown

To effectively answer the “Tell Me About Yourself” question, your response should be broken into five categories.

Recent professional achievements
Educational achievements
Applicable skills
Professional goals
Reason for interest in the company

Always avoid telling your life story or irrelevant things....
Note: "Tell me about yourself" should be short/simple and say more about you....
