what I am saying is this there is no way ife could have given Benin a king, when ife never had a real monarchy, in ancient ife kings were being over thrown like military govt style, individuals from different households at one time or the other ruled ife, oranmiyan was a Benin prince who at one time ruled ife, and oranmiyan was the father of eweka, even your Yoruba history documents this fact too now tell me is eweka a Yoruba name, if oranmiyan was a Yoruba man why did he name his son a Benin name, and how could an ife who never had a monarchy and ife where power was being seized by individuals like in the military govt had given Benin a monarchy? Go read ife history power was being seized by anyone powerful enough to seize it.

This wotowoto you are giving Dem go make their tears full bucket oo grin grin grin

Infact check the whole oba in Yoruba land, ooni dresses differently from other Yoruba kings, which could literally means there is kinda influence from outside culture, and the closest is Benin.
If the not other kings in Yoruba land should have been dressing as the ooni

Bro you dey mind all this mumu ppl that are too blind to see even their Ooni is copying BENIN KINGDOM aesthetics!

Ooni of Ife cannot go to Oba of Benin palace and sit on the throne but Oba of Beni will go to Ile Ife and the Royal seat will be vacated for him to sit. Which throne and Oba is bigger?

A kingdom that came from Benin and conquered Eko in Lagos and installed an Oba, fought the British Empire is lower than the kingdom of Ile Ife.

The son of Bini Ogiso founded the throne in Ile Ife.

Even the Oba of Benin never said they are Yoruba

People should use their brains now.

Very well said!!

This isues should be resolved once and for all na. There was a video l watched the other day on nta. The Oba of BENIN unequivocally affirmed on that clip that Oromniya ( a yoruba worrior) was the man from ife that introduced obaship to BENIN after the end of the ogiso dynasty.

Why are they now suspendeding these chiefs for saying exactly what Oba Ewuare is also guilty of ? I don't understand

This is the full video !! Watch it again!! Next time look for the legit source not cut and join propaganda false videos posted by ur yoruba ppl!!

The Oba of Benin clearly stated ODUDUWA WAS AN EXILED BENIN PRINCE!!

Konquest:

This video gave me goosebumps.

It's a testament to the triumph of the human spirit and the Oba of Benin clearly reaffirmed on the day of his coronation in 2016 that he is a direct descendant of Oranmiyan and that Oranmiyan is the FIRST Oba of Benin though he didn't stay long but had a son called Owo Mika (Eweka) who became the SECOND Oba of Benin kingdom. Oba Ewuare II also affirmed in 2016 that he is the 40th Oba of Benin.

Kudos to the Royal Palace of Ife and the Royal Palace of Benin for preserving secret historical knowledge about the direct ancestral links that bind them together for centuries.

The Yoruba town of Usen (Ode Awure) in Ovia South West of Edo State was founded by Oranmiyan's younger brother also too a very important role in the link between Ife and Benin. They primarily speak a dialect of Yoruba and Bini language thereby being bilingual.

In a swift move the Benin Traditional Council has released a disclaimer that the characters that visited the Ooni of Ife yesterday claiming to be sent by the Oba of Benin were neither sent by the palace or anywhere close to be chiefs of the palace.

The Oba of Benin has also termed the visit and statements made by parties during the visit as Sacrilegious!!!

The Benin Traditional Council hereby employs the general public to take note of this Circular!!

@Areafada, why don't you ever use the historical documents which I shared (precolonial maps and precolonial texts). As soon as I leave nairaland, the level of discussions about history goes back to that of discussing fairytales.
Why would you want to remain at the level of the yoruba fairytale peddlers when properly researched history proves Benin supremacy ?
Yoruba have no history beyond their past as slaves in Brazil, that is why they pretend fairytales are their history, that is a good excuse for them. My question is therefore why would a noble Edo person also go into confusing fairytales with history while he could just do the proper research with proper logic and be vindicated ?

I even laid down how historical research is done, I brought out historical documents and sources for more historical documents, but you guys just can't learn, as soon as I leave, you dumb down to yoruba level of confusing fairytale and history. The yoruba do it because their ancestors were slaves, you do it because you are too lazy.

Bro let's connect I need to discuss with you outside nairaland
