PhonesPictures Of The Just Announced Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 by Avatar(op): 8:59am On Jul 20, 2015
Samsung just announced its thinnest tablet yet , called the Galaxy Tab S2. the Tab S2 switches to a 4:3 aspect ratio for the Super AMOLED display, a move that makes it very suitable for reading and web browsing but will be taking away some of the fun of watching videos and movies. Second, the chipset running the show is more powerful than the one that drove the Galaxy Tab S – it’s an octa-core Exynos 5433 chip clocked at 1.9GHz for the high-power cores and 1.3GHz for the low-power cores. The screen resolution has gone down from 2560×1600 pixels to 2048×1536 pixels, so the chipset has lesser pixels to push while have more horsepower. That plus the new toned-down and optimized software means the Galaxy Tab S2 should offer flagship-like performance. it sports a 4000mAh battery + 3GB of RAM and users will be able to choose from 32GB and 64 GB storage variants. There’s a microSD slot included as well, so this is another aspect where the Tab S2 offers an upgrade over its predecessor. below are the pricings:
Price Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 Wi-Fi: euro 399
Price Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 LTE: euro 469
Price Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 Wi-Fi: euro 499

PhonesSamsung Talks About Its Over The Horizon Brand Theme by Avatar(op): 7:53am On Jul 04, 2015
Regular Samsung smartphone (and tablet) users are no doubt familiar with the Over the Horizon track that comes preloaded on all of the company’s devices (and is the default ringtone.) Over the years, Samsung has used this theme for its marketing campaigns, and even played it at launch events for some of its flagship smartphones. The Galaxy S5 had possibly the most memorable version of Over the Horizon, and with the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, the Korean manufacturer had the theme recomposed to be more sleek while still keeping the classical orchestral elements of previous versions. Samsung Senior Designer Joong-sam Yun, the original composer of the song, explained, “The introduction of the brand song provides a friendly and well-balanced ambiance. The syncopation of the leap of the tune in the following notes conveys passion with a futuristic sound. The last note represents the ceaseless challenging spirit of the company.” A 40-piece orchestra was used for the theme, with the six-note piano melody at the beginning and end played by Jamie Christopherson, another well-known musician that has contributed to plenty of movies and video games. Personally, I’ve found Over the Horizon to be an amazing piece of work, especially for a track that comes preloaded on a smartphone, and Samsung’s blog post is an interesting look at how the “familiar uplifting melody” has evolved into its 2015 form.

PhonesBBM For Android Gets Full Material Design Makeover by Avatar(op): 8:57pm On Jun 26, 2015
Today BBM for Android finally starts looking like an Android app. Following a period of less than stellar looks, the app now fully embraces Google’s Material Design principles. A better version of the app went out at the beginning of the month, and now it’s stable enough for everyone to use. Thus, you can already find it in the Google play store. But the new paint job isn’t the only changed thing about BBM for Android. It also comes with a new feature called Private Chat.

PhonesBlackberry Reportedly Set To Release An Android Device by Avatar(op): 7:40am On Jun 12, 2015
Blackberry, whose latest handsets reportedly aren't selling well, is planning to launch an Android smartphone this fall, according to a report from Recode. The report notes that the move is aimed at promoting the company's cross-platform Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solution dubbed BES12. It would send a signal that BlackBerry is "confident that the BES12 system can not only manage, but also secure smartphones and tablets powered by rival operating systems," the report said. The news comes less than a month after the Canadian company announced worldwide job cuts.

PhonesGoogle Location Aware Goes Live by Avatar(op): 7:58am On Jun 10, 2015
Google quietly announced a new addition to Google Now at an event in Paris today known as Location Aware Search. The new feature uses your real time location to modify its answers to various questions. It can now understand your location, nearby landmarks, businesses and geographical features such as rivers with only vague questions to go on. During the conference, some great examples were given:
“Call this conference center” – The phone dialed the reception desk
“How long is this river” – An accurate reply for the Seine that runs next to the centre
“How tall is it?” – using location spoofing for NYC, returned a reply for the Empire State Building
Whilst we have seen no official news from Google relating to the feature, it is now working on many users Google Now apps. Obviously if you have not allowed it access to your location data, as I’m sure many of won’t have, the features will not work.

PhonesApple Announces Ios 9 by Avatar(op):
Apple has just announced the next version of iOS, unsurprisingly called iOS 9. With the latest version of its mobile platform, Apple is focusing on making it smarter and more powerful, starting with a major upgrade to the Siri virtual assistant. Siri now has a feature called Proactive that can offer app suggestions and more based on context such as time of day or location. It's a lot like Google Now, Google's version of the virtual assistant, telling you how far away your next appointment is based on traffic or starting music when you plug headphones into your phone. Proactive lets Siri see what apps you have on your phone and suggest useful ones based on what you're trying to do. Apple says that Siri can also look into your inbox to ID incoming calls that aren't in your address book. All of this is wrapped into a new user interface for Spotlight that appears when you swipe down on a home screen in iOS. iOS 9 also introduces deep linking within Spotlight searches, letting you access content within apps whenever you do a system-wide search, instead of just opening the app's main page. Spotlight also can do unit conversions without opening a web search, something that Siri has done for a while, but now queries can be typed in addition to spoken. Apple says that all of this new intelligent processing happens on the phone itself, meaning your data isn't being sent to a server in the cloud. It's a different stance than Google or Microsoft take, which leverage cloud processing to power their virtual assistants on Android and Windows Phone. Apple will first release iOS 9 to registered developers today, followed by a public beta in July. It will be available as a final release this fall and is compatible with devices as old as the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 from 2011.

Science/TechnologyHow To Reserve For A Free Copy Of Windows 10 by Avatar(op): 9:49am On Jun 08, 2015
Microsoft is now pushing Windows 10 via a notice suggesting you reserve a copy. Just a week back , he software giant announced that windows 10 will officially roll out on july 29. That means it will be available on any PCs you purchase as of that date and as a free upgrade to your existing win7 or win8.1 pc or tablet. Microsoft has a lot riding on windows 10. The new OS has the task of erasing the bad experiences people had with the touchscreen-focused Windows 8, which ultimately failed to catch fire among PC users. Windows 10 comes packed with new features, such as a redesigned Start menu, the Cortana voice assistant and a new browser called Edge, all designed to win over jaded Windows users. The new OS will also offer a more unified experience among PCs, tablets and smartphones as a way to convince consumers to go the Windows route for all their devices. So how can you now reserve your free copy of Windows 10?
1. First, you must be running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 or Windows 8.1, and you must have installed a windows update dubbed KB3035583. if you have automated updates enabled , the update should already be on your pc.
2. Peek at your Windows system tray in the lower right corner, and you should see a new icon displaying the Windows logo. Hover over it, and the popup messages says: "Get Windows 10."
3. Click that icon, and up pops a window that explains how the free upgrade works. Once it's available, Windows 10 will automatically download onto your PC. You'll receive a notification after the download is complete so that you can choose an appropriate time to install it.
4. When you're done, simply click the button to reserve your free upgrade.
5. The reservation screen asks for your email address so you can receive the notification. Enter your email address and click the Send confirmation button. You can now close the Get Windows 10 window. that's about it ! grin
Windows 10 is a free upgrade. The upgrade offers the full version of Windows 10, not simply a trial or limited version. It also ensures that you can run Windows 10 on your specific device for free "for the supported lifetime of your device," according to Microsoft.

There is no confirmation about update availability either at the Sony Blog or official product pages. Luckily enough there are some custom ROMs that can easily become daily drivers even without Sony’s blessing. Just unlock your phone's bootloader and flash a custom rom ( cyanogenmod preferably )
