Sharp is back with a successor , the bezel-less acquos 2 crystal. The sharp acquos 2 crystal boosts the screen size to 5.2", adds basic waterproofing and mobile wallet support. The phone will launch on Softbank in Japan in mid-July, it's not clear when it will hop over to the US. The Aquos Crystal 2 brings a bigger display (S-PureLED), but keeps the resolution at 720p. The phone has gotten a bit bigger – 136 x 71 x 11mm, 154g – since Sharp couldn’t really make the screen bigger at the expense of the bezel as there isn’t much bezel to speak of. This means things like the selfie camera (2.1MP in this case) have to be moved below the screen. The main camera is still and 8MP shooter, but the Crystal 2 comes with more RAM (2GB) and more storage (16GB). It's powered by the same Snapdragon chipset though. The phone has some waterproofing, enough to survive splashes but not submersion. An interesting addition is Grip Magic, a sensor on the side of the device that detect touches. Connectivity includes LTE, HD Voice, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi b/g/n, NFC, a mobile wallet system and 1-seg mobile TV. Despite the increase in size the battery capacity hasn’t budged, it's still at 2,030mAh. However, Sharp claims the new display panel is more power efficient while also being brighter.

It's the world's most popular building material, and ever since the Romans built the pantheon from it some 2,000 years ago, we've been trying to find ways to make concrete more durable.No matter how carefully it is mixed or reinforced, all concrete eventually cracks, and under some conditions, those cracks can lead to collapse. "The problem with cracks in concrete is leakage," explains professor Henk Jonkers, of Delft University of Technology, in the Netherlands. But Jonkers has come up with an entirely new way of giving concrete a longer life. "We have invented 'bioconcrete'; that's concrete that heals itself using bacteria. This “bioconcrete” has been in the works since 2006, when Jonkers was first asked to come up with some kind of concrete that could effectively fix itself. He decided to try a new method of mixing concrete in which he’d add a “healing agent” in the form of bacillus bacteria that are capable of surviving in the harsh conditions inside concrete and remaining idle until activated. He then added calcium lactate to the concrete mixture to give the bacteria something to feed on that would make them produce the needed limestone as a waste bi-product. “It is combining nature with construction materials, nature is supplying us a lot of functionality for free — in this case, limestone-producing bacteria,” Jonkers tells CNN. “If we can implement it in materials, we can really benefit from it, so I think it’s a really nice example of tying nature and the built environments together in one new concept ” he said. chidi4eze:Okay , to be sure your device's variant is the SM-G900H , to turn off your device, and reboot into Download Mode by holding volume Down , Home button and power button together. A warning will popup , press 'continue' , then you'll see your model number if it's the sm-g900h for sure or not. |

Google in a recent update for its Play Store , added a new feature allowing publishers to put their apps for pre-registration. The feature will not only be helpful for users, who’ll get notified when the app is actually released, but also for app developers, as it will help them gauge interest in their apps prior to release. There’s also an Unregister button in case you no longer want to receive alerts. Glu Mobile's Terminator Genisys: Revolution game (see image below) has become the first Play Store app to feature a Pre-register button.

the company's Denmark division has confirmed that the update is coming, at least in their region. it was also revealed that both the Galaxy Note II (GT-N7100) and Galaxy Note II 4G (GT-N7105) will be getting the update, although it isn't yet clear which one will receive it first. it's also worth mentioning that Samsung's Spanish division had also earlier confirmed that a Galaxy Note II Lollipop update in the works, but said it will only be released it if it turns out problem-free. 1 Like

The Australian operator Telstra posted a list of Sony Xperia Z phones scheduled to get Android 5.1 Lollipop. Sony has been rolling out Android 5.0 to its Xperia Z series of smartphones since March. The list includes the likes of sony xperia z , z1 and z compact.

A few weeks after debuting it in the beta version of the app, BlackBerry has added support for Channels in the latest update to its main BBM for Windows Phone app. The feature is already available in the iOS and Android versions of the messaging app. “Starting today, Windows Phone users have a new place to join conversations happening right now between people, brands and communities,” the Canadian company said in a blog post. “In real-time you can discover and connect with other #TeamBlackBerry members on subjects that interest you.” The latest version of the app (2.1.0.16) is now available for download from the windows phone store.
