oh, been away from the travel section for a while now. erico2k2, whats been happening? |
jade's nest. |
good question. i also need an answer. i am in london with a two year visa and i have only spent 2 months now but my passport expires in march next year, i want to know if i have to return to nigeria for the renwal or if i can have it done from here, also how long it might take. thanks |
@demowo, count yourself as lucky as you were, i wouldn't advise anyone else to do the same as he or she might not be so lucky. i know of some who was here on the workingholiday maker visa too and she didnt even work for more than 12months!! but they just assumed she did because they counted even the months that she was job searching( that was because she registered with a job search website) thus, her visa was revoked. when they give specifics like the 'work no more than 12months', they definitely have ways of checking with your NI registry with any company you work with except u dont work with it, i am here on the workingholiday maker too, my passport expires in march next year though, do i have to go back to nigeria to renew it? and how does it work? @chyemma, the working holiday maker was scrapped off alongside other few categories, there is now the youth mobility scheme program but i don't know if nigeria qualifies for it, check their website: www.ukvisas.gov.uk for more information. you will get one that u qualify to apply for or opt to go to another country, i know canada and ireland have the workingholiday maker scheme too. wish you the best |
@ miz4oxley, hi. so sorry about the disappointment, go to www.ukvisas.gov.uk for everything u need to know as per the points based sytems and their requirements, read carefully and make sure u fully understand before u make any move, as u do that, u can apply for a review of the refusal of visa after an appeal won, i know that is possible, i wish u all the best and God's favour, meanwhile, check the uk students' visas forum, and the general one on this site. you will get a lot of information and support from there, more importantly, check the uk website, it is all there for you to see. @orexjoe, hi, they will give you a call from the embassy telling you what to bring, don't assume what they usually ask for or what they might have told other people to submit, each case is different and treated as such, just listen and take only what they ask of you. they will give you the visa as would have been given before the points based system since you appealed before that arose, you are lucky cuz that points based thingy na government work to read and understand sef. u need God's grace to, ![]() |
congrat denmzy47, good things always come to those that wait, try chop small cuz i can imagine that u'd have thought out all ur body fat with all that worry throughout the 78days??!! ![]() so that u come to london fresh, praise God!! |
and i hear they are mass produced in dubai then tagged as made in korea which should be all fake together if it's true!! i only know of manufacturing ports in finland, hugary and germany, this korea tire me and to think i', kinda stuck with it is quite unsettling. |
hi l.a, t.o, is it true that the korean phones made in korea are actually mass produced in dubai? i dont want to be disappointed, |
@denmzy47, hi, did u by any chance submit any document that could jeopardise the entire process?? i got mine a week from when i submitted my passport, and i think i heard someone complaining about this same stuff you r talking about, or maybe that was you, , anyways, i suggest that u pray to God about this, to clear off any delays and obstacles from this path u already are on, and relax for the rest, just send the BHC one short email asking why it's taking so long, and let that be it, i wish u Godspeed and the best, take care. |
@tunnex190, lol, if i no ask question or others don't follow, how then will the thread move up? anyway, i decided to return the phone altogether, i really hate wondering about things i don't feel comfortable with. thanks for your input, guys, |
ok everybody, thank you so much, now the next question is will all of you comfortably settle for a made in korea nokia e71? l.a.t.o, thanks, what is it about the navigator? and u said it accepts mad installs, thanks dwayne, thanks tunnex190, i dey fear oo. |
@dwayne hi, abeg chop belle-full oo, and break the whole matter down for me, advise like and tell what u'd settle for if you were in my shoes, i'm getting different opinions, i dont know what to think, i'm just thinking that i shld get a refund so i never have to wonder if a finnish made phone would have been better, all nokias i'v used in the past are all made in finland, and nokia doesnt exactly have a manufacturing plant in korea, i don't want a wolf in sheep's clothing oo, the design and weight might be the same but all else might just be crap, and then, do i want to take that chance of finding out? |
hi dragnet, u said the only difference i might find is the installed language pack, thanks for your input, but do u by chance know what the RM means and how it affects the function of a phone? l.a.t.o said i can check for it by checking *#0000# please help me understand this more. thanks a lot |
thank you all for your quick responses, pls l.a.t.o, what exactly is the RM pls? and how does it affect a phone's function? pls tell me no matter how insignificant it might be, let me know if they are things i can overlook. thanks |
hi miz4oxley, coolu temper, nor go give urself high blood pressure, just relax, they will call you, the most important thing is that you won the case, they havent forgotten you, or has it been a month already? i got my visa like a month after, so just chill. i'm sure they know you have to resume for school but if you insist that you want to contact them, check the ukvisas.gov.uk or ukvac-ng.com, u shld find some contacts there, instead, spend ur time preparing so u dont forget anything. and have everything sorted out cuz u definitely will come to london. |
Hi everyone, i'm hoping some of you can help me out on this, i just got a nokia e71 and discovered it was made in korea, what could this mean? are they inferior to those made in finland? do they have the same features and specifications as the finland-made ones? eg the wifi, battery life, radio, audio output, etc? please reply at your earliest conveniences, thanks, and yes, will this korean phone work in london?? and for any network i choose? |
hi everyone, please i need help on this very important issue, i just got a nokia e71 phone but just realised that its made in korea, please note that it isnt that chinko 'made in china' one, i want to know if they (the made in korea ones) have the original plan and life span of the actual design like the ones made in finland, like have the same features, specifications, and are exactly the same apart from place of manufacturing, please reply as soon as any of you can, and do they work in europe-london in particular? thank you for ur reading. i await ur responses, |
hi everyone, please help me out on this, i just got a nokia e71 but just realised it is made in korea ( pls note that it isnt the china 'chinko' one oo, i want to know if this means its inferior to those made in finland and if they have sam e features and specifications, all all that its suppose to be made of? please reply at your earliest conveniences, thank u |
hi every e-serie user, i urgently need to know this, what is the difference between a nokia e71 thats made in finland from that made in korea? please note that it isnt that chinko made in china type, are there any differences like is it inferior to that made in finland? and are the features the same? do they tally in desugn and specifications? please reply its urgent. thanks. i await ur quick responses |
hi miz4oxley, i didn't contact them , they gave me a call, just be patient, they'll call you, since u got the determination the 22nd of july, u'll get a call anytime soon, i can't remember but i think i got a call about two weeks after i got my promulgation. it is well, praise God for you. just be sure to listen out and know if you have to take anything along(not necessary) or you jus might get an email but it's mostly calls, take care. |
ok thanks everybody, i called the guy who sold it to me and he's asked if i can send it so he can change it to an unstolen phone, i'm thinking of asking for a refund so i dont get disappointed agin. |
@mikkko, we r doing well oo, i'm happy for you, try coming through the terminal 2 of heathrow , no hassles whatsoever, i think u can check that on ur online booking. take care now. |
@dragnet, hi, was the second part of your last post directed at me? can the imei number be easily changed? won't that give me problems later? pls advise extensively, abeg, i just bought the phone and i am already thinking of sending it back, and still dont have what to use now, thanks, AND PLEASE EVERYBODY ELSE CAN CHIP IN THEIR SUGGESTIONS AND ADVICES!!! Thank you. |
hi engineers, i bought a nokia e71 in nigeria before coming to london and on it is the planet 3 network on it. but getting here i put another sim(a vodafone), when it didn't work, i tried having it unlocked or getting another sim; to my surprise, i was told thta the phone has been blacklisted cuz it was stolen from london and sold in nigeria to an unassuming victim!! me!! does this man it will never work here or do i try using a 3-network sim? please help cuz i want to know if to send it back, thanks |
big congratulations oo, mikkko!!! ah 1 yr and 3months? how could it have taken that long? thats old story now, a testimony infact. i'm in london now. thank God for His mercies, |
hi shanga, how are you? yes, i'v been given my visa and go to the uk next week. i got it ont the day i was told to be at the embassy for collection, i wish you all the best and Godspeed in your process, |
@denmzy47, hi, why has it taken this long? and why do you think you were told to submit those many documents after your appeal was allowed? didn't you submit all that for the hearing? my appeal for the workng holiday maker visa was also allowed and i recently got a call from the embassy telling me to drop my passport on any working day, i've done that already and look forward to next wednesday, i wasn't told to add anything else. i wish you Godspeed. |
ok thanks, @johnkent, @MJ2008,. i went to te embassy at walter carrington because i wasn't so sure of the visa application centre at ikeja and i couldn't reach the customer care for guide. they took my passport and told me to be there next week wednesday, i don't know why, probably because they got it late. i have an acknowledgement with reference though, so that's fine. i didn't add anything else with the int'l passport. cheers. |
@erico2k2, thanks, the number they used in calling me was hidden, so no call-back number, il just go there tmr to drop my passport then maybe a copy of the determination. this call came exactly a month after the promulgation. i be God pikin. lol. thank God oo. i wish u the best in urs, dont worry, it is well, u'l give ur testimony soonest. do u know if i might have to submit anything else like a statement, etc? |
@MJ2008, hi, i got a call from the uk embassy telling to take my international passport to their office on any working day, but i didnt get a chance to ask which (if the visa application at oregun-billingsway or the british embassy at walter carrington) will do, also if to attach anything like a recent bank statement, where did submit yours and with what else did u do? pls, i await your reply, thanks so much for ur unflinching support to me and others u'v taken out time to advise, |
@erico2k2 na true u talk sha, i wish u the best anyways, afterall, u don pay your dues, these people haven't called me but i plan to send them an email about the determination, |
@erico2k2, LOL, abi you sef use dagbo kapli in the first place? anyways, that isn't the issue now, just pray and have faith cuz there is little else you can do for now, talk man to God, He'll listen to you, we wish you the best in the outcome, @mj2008, hi, how are you? please to which email address did you send the embassy an email? please reply, did they call you before you sent the email or after? |
