Aliko Dangote has entered a joint venture with PSA Peugeot Citroen, along with five northern state governments to re-start assembling of cars in Kaduna plant by the first quarter of 2019. An aide to Kaduna State Governor, Jimi Lawal, told Reuters that the joint venture, Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN) Ltd, is expected to assemble 3,500 units in its first year.

Aliko Dangote Lawal said that Dangote will hold a majority stake in the joint venture, while Peugeot Citroen will own a 10 percent stake and also operate the plant. The states, according to Lawal, which include Jigawa, Kebbi, Katsina and Kano would provide off-take for cars to be built at the Kaduna plant.

A reliable source from Dangote Group, who did not want to be named because he’s not authorised to speak on the matter, confirmed the development to Vanguard when contacted on phone. Lawal said PAN would start with N3.5 billion ($10 million) of equity and working capital of about $5 million, adding that the company would later raise additional capital.

He further noted that Dangote and the state governors have visited France to sign agreements, adding that Peugeot would assemble three brands in Nigeria and target West African markets for export. “The first vehicle should come out by the first quarter of next year. We are hoping that the factory will be completed by December.

The land has been identified, we have advertised for a contractor that will build the factory,” Lawal said. Recall that Dangote, in alliance with two states and the Bank of Industry (BOI), made a bid to acquire a majority stake in PAN after Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) sought to sell some of the assets it bought in the wake of the banking crisis in 2009.

The leadership of the new Peoples Democratic Party, nPDP, the splinter group from Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that coalesced with All Progressives Congress, APC, to give victory to President Muhammadu Buhiari in 2015, has withdrawn from further talks with the Presidency on how to win the next general elections.
The group, led by Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, said in Abuja, yesterday, that they had since discovered that the Presidency was not sincere in its discussion with the group but was actively negotiating with them in bad faith.

Baraje in a statement made available to Vanguard, yesterday, pointed out that it was wrong for the Presidency to embark on series of provocative actions with key members of the nPDP while the negotiations were ongoing.

Baraje pointed to the withdrawal of the security aides of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, and his House of Representatives counterpart, Yakubu Dogara, by the Presidency at the weekend barely a few days after their meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on the way forward for the two parties.


Baraje raised the alarm that the Federal Government had continued to persecute their members, even while the so-called negotiations were ongoing.

The statement said, “The public may recall that there have been ongoing talks between members of the former nPDP, the APC and the Presidency in recent days.

“Nigerians may further recall that a team from the former nPDP led by Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, and four others, were to meet with the Vice President, Prof, Yemi Osinbajo, today (yesterday).

“However, while we are truly and earnestly committed to achieving reconciliation, harmony, truce and cohesion in the APC as we approach the 2019 general elections, it appears that the Presidency is not interested in the talks and that they may have been negotiating in bad faith.

“We were alarmed that immediately after our meeting with the Vice President last week, the presidency misrepresented what transpired at the meeting by trying to blackmail some of the principal actors involved in the discussions in a national daily.

‘’Similarly, the leadership of the party went ahead to ratify all the congresses from ward, local governments, states to zonal, where many of our members have complaints, effectively presenting us with a fait accompli.

“The persecution of our members using state security apparatus has continued unabated.

“We recognize the powers of the police to conduct criminal investigations but by rushing to the public with the issue, even when they have unfettered access to the leadership of the National Assembly, suggests an attempt to undermine, caricature and humiliate the institution of the legislature.


“It appears that there is a fouled and toxic atmosphere and environment of intimidation and threat to life in which we now find ourselves, which may no longer be conducive for members of the former nPDP to continue with the talks, given the unfolding events in the last 24 hours, where the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, the governor of Kwara State, both of whom attended the meeting with the Vice President on Monday, May 28, 2018, have suddenly been accused of sponsoring armed robbery by the police under the directives of the Presidency.

“Similarly, on Saturday, June 2nd, 2018, the Department of State Services, DSS, also suddenly withdrew more than half of all the security details attached to the presiding officers of the National Assembly under questionable circumstances.

“The nPDP leadership has decided to brief our members on the unfortunate development and get a fresh mandate if good faith returns to the discussions

Pride and unsubmissiveness are signs of demonic presence. Satan wasn’t submissive to God; he was a proud figure, and for his haughtiness, God kicked him out of his place of honour. You must make up your mind to walk in humility. It’s part of the manifestation of the life of Christ in you.
Hebrews 13:17 says, *“Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.”*
You can talk in tongues; you can prophesy; but if you’re not submissive and humble, it’s all in vain.
Walking in humility is a great blessing. Use it for your life, to guide yourself, and you’ll be amazed at the blessings that would result. Humility brings promotion. The Bible says God resists the proud and gives more grace to the humble; resulting in honour, increase, enlargement, and progress. *PRAYER*

Days after President Buhari spoke about the $16 billion power project embarked upon by the Olusegun Obasanjo administration, the EFCC Has reportedly set up a team to begin investigation on the project which many have described as a failed one.

On Wednesday May 23rd, President Buhari while receiving the Buhari Support Organization, stated that a former president who embarked on a $16 billion power project with no result to show for it, has some questions to answer.



Obasanjo in a statement released on that same day, said President Buhari’s comment on the power project was from an ignorant point of view. The former president in his statement said he had been cleared of any wrong doing with regards to the power project by an investigation panel set up by the National Assembly.

A report by the Nation newspaper says an EFCC team has now been assembled to investigate the power project. An official of the antigraft agency who spoke on condition of annonimity said

”We are looking into all the allegations and issues surrounding the power projects. We will conduct a comprehensive and forensic probe to ascertain the true status of all the projects. This investigation will actually ascertain how much has been spent so far. We have many figures being bandied about as follows: $16 billion, $13.278 billion, $10.3 billion, $8.4 billion and $8.55 billion. This is not an investigation aimed at ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo or anybody. We have to step in to set the records straight. Already, a team is collating facts and figures on these projects as part of the preliminary level/ bend of the investigation.” the source said

Though his daughter is now one of the most popular women in the world, Thomas Markle Sr. looked lonely and unhappy, with his shoulders slumped as he clutched a plastic bag marked "personal possessions". 

The photos were taken by Dailymail in Thomas Markle's adopted hometown of Rosarito, Mexico, where he has been recovering from a heart operation.

Markle Sr. allegedly had a major heart surgery last week Wednesday following a heart attack. Since being released from medical supervision, he has been staying with friends in a different gated compound a few miles from his home. He returned to his San Antonio Del Mar property Monday, driven in by a different friend, single mom Lori Davis, 38, with whom he has previously been pictured enjoying a dinner date.

Back in my college days, I fell very neatly into the category of girls who efficiently filled a guy’s need for a friend or a little sister, but never for a girlfriend. HTC is developing a new Android phone that will be powered by blockchain technology.

The phone, named Exodus, will feature a universal wallet and a built-in secure hardware enclave to support cryptocurrencies and decentralized applications.

HTC has roped back the creator of its virtual reality headset Vive, Phil Chen, who will be responsible for all blockchain and cryptocurrency related initiatives of HTC including Exodus.



The company plans to create a native blockchain network with all exodus phones acting as nodes to facilitate cryptocurrency trading among the phone users.

“Through Exodus, we are excited to be supporting underlying protocols such as Bitcoin, Lightning Networks, Ethereum, Dfinity, and more,” Chen said on the integration of blockchain applications with the phone’s hardware. “We would like to support the entire blockchain ecosystem, and in the next few months we’ll be announcing many more exciting partnerships together.”
