Two Nigerians, Emmanuel Mmaduike and Olawale Kashimawo who operated a London-based cyber crime group have been jailed after stealing more than £1m. According to the UK National Crime Agency, the two Nigerians spent the money on “a lavish lifestyle”. The pair hired a helicopter and drove “flash cars”, and “posed for photographs of themselves with wads of money, expensive watches and drinking champagne”. They ran their scams from southeast London after obtaining thousands of business email addresses and passwords which they used to divert payments away from legitimate companies to themselves. Known officially as “business email compromise” (BEC), the attack involves the criminal impersonating a senior executive and attempting to convince the victim to transfer funds. UK’s National Cyber Security Centre said BEC scams are one of the fastest growing forms of cyber crime. According to a 2017 report by networking company Cisco, cyber criminals made $5.3bn (£3.9bn) from BEC in just three years. John Cena and his ex-fiancée, Nikki Bella, were spotted strolling together in San Diego, a month after calling off their wedding. TMZ posted a pic of the former couple on Saturday, May 19, that showed them strolling down the street holding coffee cups. Cena, 41, was dressed in a red T-shirt and black shorts while the Total Bellas star, 34, wore gray sweats and a red beanie. They were in the Mission Hills neighborhood of San Diego. Their reunion comes just days after the Blockers star appeared on the Today show and said he wants nothing more than to reunite with Bella, who he dated for six years. One of the issues that led them to pull the plug on their wedding was the WWE superstar saying he didn’t want to have kids, but on Monday, May 14, he told Today‘s Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, “I still love Nicole, I would love to marry Nicole, I still would love to have a family with Nicole. It was an unfortunate set of circumstances where our relationship ended.” He reiterated his sentiments later in the interview, saying, “I love her. I want to be with her. I want to make her my wife. I want to be the father of her children. I just want us to work.” A source later told US Weekly that Bella was “shocked that he is saying he now wants to have kids with her … he had always resisted.” Bella and Cena exclusively revealed to Us on April 15 that they had called off their engagement, just weeks before they were set to wed in Mexico. Aid to the former president of Nigeria, author, lawyer and the host of Transformation with Reno Omokri, a Christian teaching TV show broadcast on San Francisco’s KTLN and Detroit’s Impact Network, Reno Omokri took to his twitter handle this morning and called out to Nigerian politicians whom he believes are corrupt and cannot provide the essential infrastructure for their people but feel free to enjoy it in other countries when they visit. Nigerian leaders are comfortable enough to enjoy public transport abroad but don’t want to make public transport comfortable enough for the masses to enjoy it in Nigeria he said. On the 9th of may, there were reports that a Somali woman has been stoned to death in Somalia after a court run by al-Shabab convicted her of having several husbands, the militant group says. Shukri Abdullahi Warsame was accused of marrying 11 times, without divorcing her previous husbands. She was buried neck-deep and pelted to death with stones by al-Shabab fighters, say residents of the southern Sablale town. Al-Shabab practises a strict interpretation of Sharia law. The militant group controls large swathes of Somalia and often conducts raids and attacks in its attempt to overthrow the central government based in the capital, Mogadishu. Mohamed Abu Usama, al-Shabab’s governor for the Lower Shabelle region, told Reuters: “Shukri Abdullahi and nine husbands, including her legal husband, were brought at the court, each saying she was his wife.” According to Islamic law, polyandry – a woman having more than one husband – is illegal but men are allowed to marry up to four wives. Divorce is allowed for both partners but while men can separate from their wives, the woman has to seek the husbands’s consent. If denied, she can go to religious court to get the approval. A news site run by the militants said Ms Abdullahi was in “perfect” health, and pleaded guilty to the charges, when she appeared in court in Sablale, 200km (125 miles) south-west of Mogadishu . Divorces are common in Somalia but the details of this case are unusual report says.. The militants are known to mete out harsh physical punishments for what they consider as religious infractions. Nigerian government has begun rewarding whistle blowers with regards to the whistle blowing policy initiated by the government. Report has it that about fourteen persons who gave useful tips that led to the recovery of several billions of Naira and some millions in hard currency from some corporate tax evaders were paid about N439.3 million this week, Finance minister, Kemi Adeosun, said. The Minister did not name the offending companies. But, she told reporters in Abuja that about N14.8 billion, consisting N7.8 billion, $378 million and £27,800 were recovered. She said the recovered monies paid to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) have since been shared. Following tips by the whistleblowers in line with the whistleblower policy of the federal government, Mrs. Adeosun said the companies were busted after years of either evading taxes or under-paying government as a deliberated policy.
