Tinubus "functional Lagos"? How is Lagos functional because of Tinubu?
What legacies are you referring? LFTZ was initiated by tolaram, a Singaporean company as seen in the screenshot below.
Who owns BRT?
This eko Atlantic you are talking about, how many lagosians live there and how lagosians can afford to live there?
Which first telecom are you referring to? Care to explain further?
These millennium schools, how many are in Lagos and how many did Tinubu build while he was governor?
How is LASTMA an achievement considering the screenshot below?
How is enormous in revenue an achievement when you can't tell us what the revenue was used for? Pls explain alpha beta for us.
How did Obasanjo seize Lagos allocation for several years? How many years is several years?
Did Obasanjo withhold Lagos state govt funds or Lagos state local government funds? Pls leave Lagos, Go back to your village, if Lagos no pay you, period! |

Tinubu didn't rule you or your papa. Rather it's you folks flocking in droves to Tinubu's functional Lagos, instead of holding your uselesssss leaders accountable in the south east.
If you want to judge Tinubu, judge him by his legacies in Lagos which includes, lekki trade zone, BRT, Eko Atlantic, Lekki seaport, first telecom in Nigeria, millennium schools, LASTMA, enormous increase in Lagos revenue despite Obasanjo seizing Lagos allocation for several years etc
Your Peter Obi achieved absolute nothing in his own state. Let Peter Obi tell us what he did in Anambra in relative to how he's gonna improve the country. It's not by making noise and insulting everyone by his urchins. My brother, God bless you!! No mind them noisemakers. |

I can only accept to argue with any Obi supporters who reside NOT in Lagos BUT Anambra that they claim OBI has so much developed.
This is because I have realized that almost ALL Obi supporters on nairaland do not reside in Anambra.
Why condemn the man that introduced innovative ideas to Lagos. A city that witness the beginning of progressive development under TINUBU and is still developing based on continuity!
If you hate Tinubu then go back to your Anambra to support your OBI. Even your OBI resides in LAGOS! Chaiii!!

Create Jobs and see Prostitution become a thing of the past. Prostitution can't even become a thing of past BECAUSE it serves a function in society. Yes, it is seen as a 'dysfunction' in terms of morality BUT it becomes functional dysfunction' if it plays a role in society. What role? By reducing sexual harassment like rape and rapists in society. Some dysfunctional elements serve a function in society. If stopped from existing, may lead to an outburst of criminal behavior. In this case 'rape'. A recent example happened during the covid-19 lockdown where all hotels and motels were closed down. THE CLOSURE made us see and hear a lot of rape incidence in the country at that period. So brother, whatever we have in the society must be managed properly if not, very soon you will start hearing rape here and there in Edo state. Ok oo |

See how you have disgraced yourself. You said 'Old' and failed to realize that your PETER OBI too is old @ 61 years. But that's not what I'm driving at. What I want to insert into your head is that TINUBU did not only deliver, but also scouted and identified young talents like BABATUNDE FASHOLA for continuity. Guess what, Fashola became governor of Lagos state at the age of 43. Ambode became governor of Lagos state at 51 and the current governor of Lagos state Sanwo - Olu became the governor of Lagos state at 53. I'm sure you can see the trend that he believes in energetic young minds. Pls, name ONE talent your OBI scouted during his 8year stint. The only thing he was able to do was to save money for Anambra, where is the money now? They are broke. Soludo is borrowing money at the moment. You see why failure to identify young best brains to continue his legacy has made OBI the wrong choice.

Politics › Re: El-Rufai: Tinubu Will Brief Buhari, APC Chairman On Campaign Council by Ayk8: 9:34am On Aug 02, 2022 |
Ibkhaleel: WILL THEY EVER LEARN?
In Kaduna, Kogi, Niger, Kwara, Gombe and Borno states, Muslim-Muslim ticket Will win the governorship election even without the support of the indigenous Christians.
However, because of fairness, justice and magnanimity of the Muslim majority in those states, the politicians there ensured that Muslims were paired with Christians as governors and deputy governors respectively, - until the Christians in some of those states mistook the Muslims' magnanimity acquiescence, and acquired a bloated sense of entitlement, and bungled it in at least two of those states, namely, Kaduna and Niger states.
The ugly scenario is being replicated at the national mainstream level of politics, thanks to CAN, some opportunistic northern Christians and bigoted, grandstanding pastors.
They have drawn a line and declared a war to reclaim Nigeria for Jesus Christ, simply because one of the political parties in Nigeria has chosen to fly a Muslim-Muslim ticket to contest the presidency in 2023, as Nigeria The rotation of the office of the president of Nigeria is supposed to be between the north and the south; itself unconstitutional, and outside the extant electoral act, however, some sore losers have now added the religious mix to it.
This is the biggest mistake they are making, because, as long as democracy remains the game of number and the rule of the majority, Muslims will always determine who becomes the president of Nigeria, which no amount of insults, blackmail or threats can alter.
So, if the majority decides that they will vote for only one-faith ticket, the minority cannot do anything about it but curse, shout and wail.
In our living memory, we sawa Muslim- Muslim ticket wins a national election, but can't remember any about a Christian- Christian ticket.
So, align with the majority or perish in anger and frustration. The USA runs a CHRISTIAN/CHRISTIAN ticket. They are a developed country that didn't wail because they believe in competence rather than religious sentiments. But some Christians are wailing on a MUSLIM/MUSLIM ticket because they still prioritize religious sentiments over competence. No wonder Nigeria remains a developing country. Until we change our mindset, then we can become a developed Nation. |

Cantonese: Two men were governors, one in Lagos the other in Anambra . Towards the end of their second term, the one in Lagos sent his retirement bill and got his House of Assembly to approve what you see below as his yearly pension.
1. 300% annual salary as severance package as approved by RMAFAC. 2. 100% of annual basic salary of incumbent gov as salary for LIFE even after leaving office. 3. Six new cars every 3 years 4. A new house in Lagos, minimum 5 bedroom 5. A new house in Abuja or any other location, minimum 5 bedroom. 6. Free medical care for him and members of his family for life. 7. Entitled to cooks, stewards, Gardners, and domestic staffs, all pensionable. 8. 300% of his annual basic salary as governor every 2 years as furniture allowance 9. 100% of annual basic salary as governor as his house maintenance allowance 10. Two DSS officers, 1 female officer for his wife and eight policemen to guard him. 11. 25% of his annual basic salary for personal assistants. 12. 30% of his annual basic salary for car maintenance . 13. 20% of his annual basic salary as utilities maintenance. 14. Pensionable drivers, no limits to the number.
This is apart from what he gets as a percentage of collections from Alpha Beta for tax collections for Lagos State and the total control he has over the governor and the treasury.
But see what the other collects from Anambra State since leaving office as governor: 1. No gratuity 2. No pensions 3. No houses 4. No cars 5. No allowances of any kind 6. No maintenances of any kind. 7. No personal assistants paid by the state. 8. No domestic staffs paid by the state. 9. No aids sponsored by the state. 10. Not even pure water. 11. No shishi from the State.
Now the two men want to be president. Choose you today who means well for Nigeria and who will serve the people selflessly. Please provide sources, references or links to your claims then I drop the mike and you win |

Realist12: and Obi is the best Y'all can present? Obi isn't half as intelligent and accomplished as Tinubu or his mentees . Tinubu's legacies and policies in Lagos can be pointed to and they are still beneficial to the masses. I think it's time we stopped giving Obi with mediocre projects attention and focus on Atiku who happens to be Tinubu's only contender . We all know they are supporting Obi based on tribalism and not competence because they know how his administration went . IPOB has only successfully rebranded the failure Obi and guess what they are ready for the south to lose the ticket to Atiku rather than Tinubu just as they did at the APC primaries. My brother you're starting to see the reality. On this same thread a lot of your people are denying Tinubu's legacy but are blaming him for Nigeria regular problems. Now let me explain Agbero is under a national union touting tickets for the union ( NURTW) whereas Lagos has provided modern administrative policies to fade them out like the BRT and tolling of roads . Lagos is Nigerians favorite , its a victim of it's own success, hence the population influx into the state, not only agberos, how about the street hawkers ? Are they not defacing the state. Secondly Fashola like other Governors could succeed in Lagos due to the masterplan of the state created by Tinubu all he had to do is execute the plans ,any other party that doesn't work with the blueprints will be a failure. Amidst all the burden of Nigeria on the states with over population Lagos is still progressive while Nigeria isn't to some extent. God bless you my brother. I second your thought. Most of these fools badmouthing the innovative ideas of Tinubu and continuity of APC in form of 'Progress' are residing in Lagos oo. Thunder fire anybody residing in Lagos and badmouthing the works of APC here. They even forgot the fact that Lagos is the most populous city in Nig with about 25 million inhabitants residing on about 3500sqk. Sometimes you have to give credit to who deserves it and say the truth. Nobody is happy with the state of things but at least learn to say the truth. |

Sometimes a little corruption and economic progress are better than damaging or paralysis of your economy. Well, you are right. To buttress, corruption is not prevalent only in Nigeria anyway. But we need someone who is innovative like Tinubu but corruption must be dealt with because it's one of the factors that hinder the progress of this country along with poor policy-making by our leaders. In terms of soluble decisions, I know Tinubu is capable especially in the area of innovative ideas. But the fact that Buhari could not do well in terms of economy and security under the platform of APC is why people are angry and if Tinubu doesn't campaign well and strategically it can affect him oo. The problem is 'The three major candidates have not picked the most rightful choice'.
The best formula should have been Tinubu-Obi.
But that's if the Vice President will share the same power with the president. But that can never happen except through constitutional amendment.
The best bet is OBI should control finance and Tinubu preside.

Anyway, Nigeria has never been short of plans. The problem has always been lack of sincerity of purpose and inflated contracts that hinder full implementation and realisation of the plans.
That is why Obi will be better as a minister of finance not a president. Trust me

If I were to be president of Nigeria for a day, I would invest massively on THREE major things known as 'SET' ;
1. Technology 2. Security 3. Economy.
Mind you, 1 & 2 contribute to the growth of ECONOMY.
Therefore, when the economy is booming, SECURITY and TECHNOLOGY keep advancing. This will result to the advancement of other institutions of the state.
BUT there is a challenge 'CORRUPTION'. It is very difficult to tackle corruption in a federal system where corruption as eaten up all the spheres of the society. E.g Nigeria.
For me, For this country to advance towards greater heights, we need a leader that is INNOVATIVE and ready to make 'some policies' that will discourage CORRUPTION and encourage PERFORMANCE.
These policies have to be made into law for all political aspirants and leaders to strictly adhere to. These policies will determine their elongation in power.
THESE POLICIES HAVE TO BE WRITTEN IN THE NIGERIAN CONSTITUTION!!! |

Chai see levels!
Now their next 4years is not clear because of this acculturated corrupt practice among the people and between the candidates and electorates. I strongly believe that it will be extremely hard to get a credible and corrupt free candidate to govern a state or preside over a country!
EDUCATION!! The people need to be reorientated on the consequences of vote selling and the inability to vote for a candidate based on records, capacity, credibility, INTEGRITY and manifestos.
POVERTY!! A big factor misleading people by controlling the subconscious of an average Nigerian.
WHY ALL THESE PROBLEMS?
CORRUPTION!! YES, CORRUPTION!!
Corruption has become part of a culture of Nigerian people in all institutions of this country. It has engulfed FAMILY institution, EDUCATIONAL, ECONOMY, RELIGIOUS HEALTH, but simply pioneered by POLITICAL institution over the years, actually since INDEPENDENCE!!
