Did a little research and found out cic strategically dont give western African countries "priority". They want students from the likes of china, india, japan, European countries and the likes. Some designated asian countries only require 3 things (Pay tuition, deposit living expense in a Canadian bank and get an admission letter) and in 4weeks your visa is ready. But here in Nigeria we submit all the documents in this world to convince them. They even have more visa offices/officers overlooking the affairs of those regions because of the impact they have in their economy. They only want our first class students with scholarships and STEM students. The rest is just luck and Gods favour, after all we all submit generic documents hence generic visa rejection reasons. One day when unemployment rate reduces and we alleviate poverty in our nation maybe we are then going to be respected in other countries and not seen as desperate and dangerous. Talking about dangerous I just read about a Nigerian caught in turkey on Internet fraud basis and you wonder why visa rejections are high. Lastly, keep trying and put everything in the hands of God and remember that canada isn't the only place in the world you can succeed.

Otunba Cash can enter any damn country, no matter any arrest or so. He has multimillion dollar investments all over the world and he's not abroad for study or any asylum ish.

I understand fraud gives bad reputation but it is everywhere. I believe CIC are looking down on us simply because of our melted economy by Bubu and mass suffering in the nation. They can see that everybody, especially the youths want to ja pa.

Bro! Hummmm, I understand your point about this gcms thing. This is simply overemphasized and it seems like conformity to you but truth be told, a month is a long time but it is a logical path if you choose to pay the $5, it's optional like the gurus have advised on this thread. Just like everything is based on God, hardwork and luck anyone denied should decide if they need it or not but don't speak with so much confidence that it's unnecessary. My own advise if you know you re interested in reapplying after a delay, order yours immediately while you in the process of packaging a second application(which could actually lag the same period you await your gcms notes), at the snap of your fingers 30 days is over.

GCMS is an opportunity for anyone ohh my brother, take advantage of it. At US embassy we get vexed

"Bro I was the denied today ohh, that small girl, that black American girl, haaa the one on counter 4, that guy and blah blah was just typing, asked me another question and kept typing, typing, typing then he or she said sorry we can not grant you a US visa at the moment kindly reapply at some other time when your situation has changed". Then one get the blue paper with vague reasons that can't even point one in the right direction. Abi na because i no greet him or her well, or cus I stammered and didn't align my tie well. So brothers and sisters that blue paper is the same white note of refusal people get via email or with returned passport, it's so generic, but the gcms is what the American VOs type, type and you will never see and they use that against you the next time one re-apply with the truth and lies that lies there-in.

Be knowledgeable, take advantage, learn and get better. It's not about who is right or wrong.

God bless this TRV FAMILY

This is the only and single advantage of Canada over US for study visa. For F-1 visa refusals, applicants cannot know the refusal details unlike gcms note. So all you can do is just make some guesses of corrections and reapply.

You've got point bro. But aside this, f-1 is above all.
No need of medical or upfront medical.
Instant biometrics.
They hardly verify SOA.
Processing time within 5 minutes.
No need of land or CAC certificate docs.
No need of police certificate.

Like seriously there is no difference between CICs and FBIs grin

Yeah. Similar medical inadmissibility rules are applied to immigrants and TRV applicants. As long as you do medicals in your application, it's going to go through the same review process regardless of the type of Visa. I even have reason to believe CIC may be more lenient with TRV applicants since they are staying for a shorter duration. That's just my opinion though.
Got it now.

It may not be all doom and gloom. Back in April, in response to several outcries from the public, CIC relaxed their rules regarding medical inadmissibilty.

https://www.cicnews.com/2018/04/canada-revises-controversial-medical-inadmissibility-rules-for-immigrants-0410513.html#gs.PBa9hTE

So its very possible that you may still get your TRV approved.
But the link you posted referred to "immigrants"

As for me, I think the problem here is the course of study.
The moniker course of study wasn’t specific just “science”

He/she should contact the school and choose a course of study. some VOs won’t understand the condition Given to you from your school.
(according to your school, Until you get to Canada then you will choose a course from the sciences)

There is no reasonableness of your studentship.

And remember, you're from Nigeria,(our case is different from others) VOs are looking for any slight loophole in our application! (God pass them finally) so please be more specific with your course of study.

My 2 kobo, contact your school and choose a course of study. The vo that handled your application is not satisfied that you're a genuine student. (SIMPLE)
Come on bro, you are a Nigerian. It's not about your school, it is about the VO handling your application, if it's working for another country it may not work for us. Though, some folks might have gotten their TRV in Nigeria without a specific course of study. The chances are slim.
talk to your school and choose a course of study.

Tackle this one (course of study), then you tackle another one by asking yourself why are you going for another bachelor degree?
Some VOs would see it as ”No career progression” (a good sop or loe would do for this one)

I stand to be corrected

Which corrected are you standing after you aff explain everything patapata grin

I couldn't agree more. Very valid point bro. The GCMS file note is the officer's report on the conclusion of the application and actually not meant to be written as to the applicant. It is for their records and hence will be well detailed than the letter of refusal given to the applicant. Thankfully, applicants can access the GCMS note through the access of information act which eventually would help one prepare better and tackle reason(s) for a previous refusal.

The generic letter of refusal is vague and would not give the full underlying reasons for a refusal.

From an experience here:

Applicant was refused for 1.purpose of visit 2. Travel history 3.All reasons for insufficient funds.

GCMS note: PA had travel to Canada once for visit and overstayed by a single day( reason for purpose of visit and travel history), Source of funds not provided(reason for insufficient funds) and the officer doubted the genuineness of funds available.

In this case above, one would think it's the program of study or question why travel history is ticked when there is extensive travel or that funds were not sufficient and would proceed to add more money to the account. The applicant could surmise these without the note and reapply and the application would have resulted to yet another refusal. The GCMS note helped. Reason for overstaying was explained and evidence was included. Business contract execution documents were also included to show how funds were gotten. Reapplication was approved. These and many more are some of the reasons the GCMS note is encouraged.

Thanks for sharing.

I was told by a lawyer that July has the highest number of applications from Nigeria and those who re-applied account for about 85% of those applications. This is because those who were refused in April, May and June converge their applications in July. He said July applicants should not expect decisions until November. He also told me that many of August, September and October are now being moved to Kenya and Lagos unless you are re-applying and your refused applications was treated in Kenya, then another visa office in case you want to go for a judicial review.
I don't know how true it is.

Yepa! Which kind bad market be dis one nau for future online applicants?

Your report seems true seeing how fast September online applications were processed and their outcomes.

Please help us ask your lawyer when next London will take back online applications

Thanks.

So are they not ones taking care of online route too?

Also, does that mean Canadian HQ has moved from Ghana to Nairobi?

Paper route may be faster than online route, but the refusal rate is higher, as the Nairobi guys dont waste time in refusing visa applications. While online route may be very slow but mostly it ends with approvals. This has been my observation right from the beginning of this part 14. Online applications gets more approvals than that of Paper. Like I said this is my observation based on the outcomes of decisions on this thread,so I no dey work for CIC ooo. For those of us still expecting, It shall end in praise.
Thanks for sharing your observations bro. But who are Nairobi guys?

Bro! There is no answer to your question that's why Google couldn't answer that, next time use Quora for technical ?s like this. Well I doubt if you can tender a PG Certificate for masters admission, what is mostly recognized is your school leaving certificate, standardized tests like GRE/GMAT, IELTS and bachelors degree (Which you have to submit irrespective of your most recent attainment)... A (2:2) I guess, if that's the case, submit your documents to the school and add the PG Certificate to get the necessary boost. And put finesse to your work experience. To the westerners that is as important as a good degree from any institution, one has got to make up for the other. The 3 (Bsc cert, CV, and PG cert) should get you your admission. Email admission offices at your shortlisted Canadian universities that offer Comp Science courses and write concise mail to inquire any necessary info and to know if you may apply. So you don't waste your precious time and money and still receive a NO NO after admission decision is taken.

Note: Even if there is no request for documents like a PG Certificate just include it in your correspondence and put in every experience you ve ever had in that field on your C.V. Also remb it's not only about what you know but what you can also do.

My 2 cents.

Thanks. I appreciate.
