The National Assembly, the Senate specifically have her reasons to refer $9.3m arms procurement matter to the Senate Committee on Defence and not debate it publicly because the Upper Chamber is convinced that it is a matter of military procurement and such matters are never subjected to public debate anywhere in the world. Remember that the Senate is led by a retired military office who knows more about military procurement that you do.

Anybody that is afraid of his idea, no matter how excellent or outlandish it is, being tested in his/her country's Legislature before acceptance or rejection is not ready for democracy. The question is, are you ready for democracy? Is Prof Sagay ready for democracy? [s] What of Buhari and others that you support? [/s]
I just don't understand the mindset of some of you. What brought Buhari into this matter?

Politics › Re: Boko Haram Releases Wife Of Cameroonian Deputy Prime Minister, 10 Others. by ayukdaboss(m): 6:47am On Oct 10, 2014
This news is contradictory. The Cameroon Army claimed earlier that they had rescued the PMs wife...
CAMEROONIAN security forces have carried out a successful rescue of the wife of deputy prime minister Amadou Ali who was abducted by Boko Haram terrorists in the northern town of Kolofata over the weekend.

On Sunday, Boko Haram gunmen attacked
Kolofata abducting Mrs Ali and a local
religious leader or lamido, named as Seini
Boukar Lamine, who is also the town's
mayor. Deputy prime minister Ali had been at home to celebrate the Muslim feast of
Ramadan with his family but was taken
unawares by the suddenness of the attack.
Following the attack, Colonel Felix Nji
Formekong, the second commander of
Cameroon's third inter-army military region,
based in the regional headquarters Maroua,
said that Cameroonian soldiers were taking
the terrorists on. He added that they had
Boko Haram fighters penned in the town and were engaging them in a gun battle.

After three days of fighting it appears that
the Cameroonian military has now over-
powered the insurgents and rescued their
victim. It is believed that about six people
died during the rescue operations that lasted several hours.

Unlike their Nigerian counterparts, the
Cameroonian Army has not been infiltrated
by Boko Haram insurgents, so are more
effective in fighting the terrorists. Because
Nigeria's military has been compromised by
the presence of Boko Haram moles,
information on operations is regularly fed to the terrorists, who subsequently lay
ambushes for the soldiers.

Problems like this have prevented the
Nigerian Army from conducting a successful
rescue operation to release the over 200
Government Girls Secondary School Chibok
pupils abducted by Boko Haram on April 14.

Cameroon on the other hand has been more
successful, having deployed more than 1,000 soldiers along its border to help combat the terrorists.

If Nigerians wants her leaders, not just her President or President Jonathan specifically, to declare their assets, people like Prof Sagay has the legal mind, goodwill and war chest to put together a bill to that respect and push it to the National Assembly. If the National Assembly accepts such considerations, then it becomes law that our leaders, from President to Local Govt Councillors MUST declare her assets publicly. Why he has not done that is part of the problem we are facing and that is exactly is why it is optional for the President to either declare publicly or just obey the legal requirement which is declaring to CoC.
Which National Assembly is that? The one that voted that the seized $9.3million wasn't an issue to be deliberated?

It won't really be fair to OBJ comparing the level of corruption in his PDP led administration to that of GEJs PDP led government.

Stealing is not corruption - Dr Otuoke.

Join PDP and you're automatically exonerated from all former corruption/stealing charges. What a shame.

[s] @poster I was itching to reply, that I must honestly confess that I didn't read the entire article word for word. You made valid arguments as to other 1 term presidents in the USA with the most recent being George Bush. The important issues are
1. The Nigerian economy seems to be doing fairly ok i.e with the recent rebasing of the economy that puts Nigeria as the biggest economy in Africa and I think the 26th largest globally is enough reason to secure the incumbent another tenure in office although it can also be argued that the economic transformation all started long before his watch.
2. SURE-P is clearly another deal breaker considering the enormous infrastructural gap that Jonathan's government inherited and has had to upscale with Martin Luther Agwai as helmsman of the fund.
the list goes on and on and its my belief Jona is definitely coming back by the grace of God. [/s]

1) Please do you really mean Nigeria becoming the largest economy in Africa is a valid reason to vote the most corrupt administration in Nigeria chaired by GEJ back into power? Wow! Nigerians truly don't know their rights...have you ever sat down to outline how that status has affected your life as a Nigerian? You'll notice that it has barely done so. It has just watered the already fat 'bellies' of our ever thieving politicians.

Even if Nigeria had the largest economy in the world we wouldn't experience any positive change in the country's status quo. Why? Because it'll just be a case of more money for our politicians to steal afterall our President boldly said "Stealing is not corruption".

2) What the fork is SURE-P and please do tell how it has affected your life positively as a Nigerian?

PS: We have to vote this corrupt government out of power next year.

When will all these political strategies transform d federal roads, stabilize power supply, provide security of lives and properties and jobs for d unemployed nigerian youths? It is quite incredible that the very youths whose lives are being wasted are mostly the ones celebrating these unproductive activities of our politicians. The worst type of slavery is mental slavery.
My brother e tire me o. With the current state of this country somebody is lauding GEJ as a master strategist. What a Joke.

Nigeria is indeed a rich nation!! So,you mean to tell me that after $20million went missing and still remained unaccounted for till now,we still have money to donate? Oh!! Pardon me for forgetting the $9.3million still in the tight grip of the South African government, and now this. My point...I'm not against humanitarian grants, especially when it has to do with the dreaded EVD;but our leaders should use our resources judiciously and should hold corruption in utter abhorrence.
It's $20billion man not $20million. There's a lot of money in this country. Countries like UAE have oil money and you can evidently see how developed they are, but reverse is the case in Nigeria because of the reckless stealing and corruption carried out by our leaders.
