NB: ATTENDANCE WILL BE RECORDED from Center Administration Good Morning, Great Entrepreneurs and fellow students! Just finished a meeting with the Director of Exams (Exam Officer) Dutse Centre since the announcement came from him as I confirmed from our Faculty Officer and he explained to me about the EVALUATION TEST as follows: 1. It is not to evaluate our studentship in NOUN. 2. It is not to EVALUATE if we are academically capable to continue our course of study. 3. BUT the EVALUATION TEST is all about STUDENTS TESTING the NEW E-exam software that Federal Government has chosen to adopt for all the Universities in the Federation. So, they want students to test the system and get used to the E-Exam portal before the next exams in November to avoid difficulties in the Exam hall in using the new exam portal. Pls, he advised every student to attend to get use to the new government system because the new system will be used in the next exams in November. The Headquarters is coming and the test will not be done again and they will not be able to put any student through during the exams. He said that it will start by 9am. So, guys we can make it before that time. It is better to go and learn. Thanks and God bless you all... #Sent as received |

jibrilyaba:Let me show you**(How to calculate your result as per new improvement on the system) - if the final grade is for example 36/100= 0.36 multiply by 70 = 25.2 + TMA score If the TMA is 30 therefore 30+25.2 = 55.2 C. 70 + 30 gives you 100 which is the percentage and don't forget that's the standard grade regardless the total number of questions therefore what you score over 70 is 25.2 and over 30 in test(TMA) is 30. The addition of the two gives you 55.2 / 100 which is C.. You will Succeed! |

*FG DECLARES FRIDAY, MONDAY PUBLIC HOLIDAYS* The Federal Government has declared Friday, Sept. 1 and Monday, Sept. 4 as Public Holidays to mark the Eid-el-Kabir celebration. The Minister of Interior, retired Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, made the statement on behalf of the Federal Government on Monday in Abuja. Dr Rufai Attahiru, overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary in the ministry signed the statement in Abuja on Monday. The minister urged Muslim faithful and all Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, prosperity and the stability of the country’s democracy. Dambazau called on Nigerians to join hands with the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, in its determination to build a peaceful and harmonious country. He assured Nigerians of safety in all parts of the country, emphasising that security agencies had been directed to maintain peace and protect lives and property during and after the celebration. Danbazau condemned in strong terms, the prevalence of hate speeches in the country and warned that the Federal Government would henceforth deal with perpetrators according to the law. He stressed that government would continue to foster peaceful coexistence, national cohesion and stability in its march toward actualising the full potential of Nigeria. The minister wished all Nigerians a most rewarding and Happy Eid-el-Kabir celebration. |
*7 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT NOUN, NIGERIA'S POPULAR ONLINE UNIVERSITY* The National Open University of Nigeria is a Federal Open and Distance Learning (ODL) institution, the first of its kind in the West African sub-region. It is Nigeria's largest tertiary institution in terms of student numbers and is popularly referred to as *'NOUN'* 1. ESTABLISHMENT NOUN was initially established on July 22, 1983 as springboard for open and distance learning in Nigeria. It was suspended by the government on April 25, 1984. It was brought back on April 12, 2001 by the former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo. Student enrollment stood at 32,400. 2. VICE CHANCELLOR AND ORGANIZATION In 2011, NOUN had about 57,759 students. The Vice Chancellor is Prof. Abdallah Uba Adamu. The National Open University of Nigeria operates from its Administrative Headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos, with Study Centres throughout the country. It offers over 50 programmes and 750 courses. 3. DIFFERENCE FROM CONVENTIONAL UNIVERSITY NOUN does not provide lectures to students in normal classrooms except some certain study centres. It has a study centre in Lagos for instance provides lectures to all its Law undergraduates and supplies necessary course materials to all students after the payment of tuition fees. All courses offered have been accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC). 4. REQUIREMENTS For most courses in NOUN, there are no stringent entry requirements other than the ability to study at an appropriate level such as the West African Examination, and other National Diplomas to qualify for a Direct entry admission. Though most postgraduate courses require evidence of previous study and/or equivalent life experience. 5. IMMUNITY TO STRIKES The university is prohibited from joining any form of union either within staff or students. This has made the NOUN to be unaffected by strikes such as the ASUU strike which is currently ongoing. 6. NYSC NOUN has also made the necessary efforts to ensure its graduates below age 30 participate in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and their Law graduates proceed to the Nigerian Law School and they have succeeded. 7. EXAMINATION SYSTEM The university administers the Computer-Based-Test (CBT) form of examination to its students in their first and second years. However, Law undergraduates participate in the standard Pen-On-Paper examinations (POP) beginning from their first year of admission, with LAW111-Legal Methods in First Semester of the first year. Other undergraduates also participate in the CBT system of examination in their first and second years and commence the POP examinations from their third year till the end of their respective course duration. The POP examination system applies to Post Graduate students also. |

NOUN : Study Centres to file finished projects to Abuja soon for grading - - ''All duly finished, bound and submitted projects in different National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) study centers would be sent to Abuja at the end of this month for grading '', a reliable source has tipped Repota Atlarge. According to the source, students supposedly graduating this semester who do not submit their projects at their study centers before the end of this month, August 2017, may not find their names in the graduation list next semester as this may be the last set of projects that would be collated this semester. The source told Repota Atlarge that the Vice Chancellor, Prof Abdalla Uba Adamu is really working hard to making NOUN one of the foremost Universities in the world and that students who do not follow the laid out rules to achieving this vision would become prey to mischief. He encouraged all graduating students who are yet to submit their projects to do so to avoid any challenges. He also admonished students writing the ongoing E-examination to be studious and abreast of changes in the exam as there are evolving developments everyday............ |
