Thank you all for your comments on the subject. You have shown once again the true essence of the forum. Integrity and accountability are the qualities we expect from all Nairalanders and this issue has shown that we still have hope as a nation.

Am very elated to inform everyone that there has been extensive discussions between Banix and my friend on how to resolve this issue and the results are indeed gratifying. Banix's mechanic confirmed that the gear needs to be replaced (the scan also revealed that there was nothing else was wrong with the car after the repairs that had been done on the car previously) and he has graciously accepted to meet the cost. As I type this comment, they are on their way to Oyingbo to fix it. He even connected my friend to the previous owner of the vehicle and the man also promised to assist.

The intention of bringing this subject to the public domain was not to tarnish anyone's image but to ensure that the confidence that we have reposed in the auto dealers that use Nairaland is maintained. Suffice it to say that the turn of events have convinced me that there are indeed good businessmen out there.

I salute Banix for his magnanimity and implore other car dealers in the auto section here on Nairaland and in Nigeria as a whole to emulate his example. My appreciations also goes to Onwan, Netotse, siena, Busybody, Carshopper, Tokumbo, Yekinim Bizbook and others in ensuring that this issue is amicably resolved.

i dnt knw banix and certainly do not av issues with him or his business. Am not a car dealer 4 now but who knows. I am just a straight Nigerian who believes d wrong done can be corrected. D purpose of dis thread is to get banix 2 do what he shld av earlier done as a credible dealer when dis problem ws mentioned 2 him d first time and also 4 him 2 accept or deny dat he knew abt d state of d car b4 selling. Agreed, am a 3rd party just like onwan too. I am just coming 4rm d mech banix recommended 2 d buyer. 2 scans were carried out last wk on d ride. One at automedic which reveals a problem with d gear, shocks etc. Another scan was carried out by banix which shows no problem with d gear. Now banix askd him 2 take d ride 2 his own certified mech who is abt checking d gear. d issue nw is wat will be d next step? watch dis space.

which kind security issue? was he there? i was there bro. d point is, d ride is now with a mech nw dat banix recommended. let hope something gud comes out of this. My friend now says, banix has agreed 2 nw sell d ride 4 him after he (my friend) has fixed it.

From what Banix has been saying, it appears there is no proper communication and coordination between between the Ayusman16 and his friend. But I know that Banix would help him with a straight mechanic that will give him a fix and a decent bill.

I have spoken with Ayusman16, he is decent but just doesn't have a 3rd party view of the whole situation and the thread crowded him more.

You should also know that you can only be sure of your own conclusion on Banix and can't tell for anyone else. Banix Is a certified dealer and not a phone number/email only hustler. And I can even tell you straight that except you have bought a car from him, your opinion is for yourself. People will still buy from him. REGARDLESS.

Didn't want to post anything until after the meeting with my friend and Banix. I don't think Banix is being truthful on what he posted. It is rather unfortunate that he decided to hide some of the facts.
1. Claiming that you were never contacted until recently about the issues of the car is the biggest lie anybody has told this year. Can you deny if a call was placed to you from the 2nd day of purchase?
2. Why didnt you tell the House that the ride was taken to the popular Automedics very close to LTV and it was diagnosed that the car has gear, shocks and suspension issues? But your own mech said there is no such issues with the ride? You test drove the ride few days ago, did you not confirm these issues with the car.
3. Can Banix also deny not knowing the mech prior to the inspection of the ride?
4. You also claimed in your earlier post that my friend told you he has spent only 80k on the ride so far? So how do you reconcile that with the parts that you confirmed that were changed?
5. If he hasnt spent close to 300k on the ride. Let Banix tell us how much my friend claimed to have spent? (Probably, we will know the difference between six and half-a-dozen)

My conclusion is that you know about the problems with the car and decided to sell it to my friend after conniving with the mech (That you've met before).

Call me the Devil's Advocate if you like (That does not make me one) if it can expose dubious dealers like you on this site.

some d parts were changed in d presence of d buyer. I also saw d parts changed last wk and wen d engine was brought down.

@onwan. obviously u didnt hear me very well. i never said it ws d same mech dat went with d buyer 2 inspect d vehicle dat is currently working on it. d first mech who inspected d ride ws called wen it didnt start d next day of purchase. d same mech advised d car shld be towed 2 his workshop dat d engine cld av knocked. it is when i insisted dat anoda mech ws called who just fiddled with some wires dat it started right in d nose of d first mech. Later dat nyt. d car still broke down. anybody who know abt cars will knw it is nt worth d buy.

Sorry guys. The ride is still at the mechanic's place and Banix asked my friend to come with the car to his place.

I advised him to go see banix and probably see if they could go check the ride at the mechanic's place tomorrow since it is not far from his place.

Even Banix did not come out and claim the car he sold was in good condition or not? Atleast, when my friend takes the car to meet him later today. His Mechanic will confirm all the parts that were changed. Like i said earlier on. My friend is upset because he bought the car from a well established/recommended dealer like Banix and not just an ordinary seller. People saying my friend took a mechanic to inspect the car in the first place does not even stop Banix (since he has a name to protect) from disclosing the likely problem with the car. I believe he would av inspected the car himself before committing himself to sell for the perceived owner? But how does he explain the 95% performance he mentioned while advertising the car? Some say it is seller's gimmicks? Pardon me to think otherwise.
