argon500:If every tribe is Represented accordingly and they agreed to the best way to teach it, they will present the Messenger with the message. and the ministry of education will be fully aware of this sensitive subject/topic, as such the messengers will be carefully selected and they will teach it effectively. even videos of other region war (e.g middle east countries) could be used as teaching aid to let the students know that outcome of war only favours the rich |
WHAT IS THE WAY OUT? I wish Sir Soyinka (or/and other neutral Highly Intellectual Fellows) could profer solution to this unavoidable discussion. Few years ago when I read 'THERE WAS A COUNTRY', I agreed with Sir Achebe on the underlined words *see image*. But, from another angle, if it's to be taught in class, biased opinion would be mixed with the curriculum A man who himself is a champion of Biafra agitation, if he find himself in the classroom, what do you think he will teach to students? Exactly! that's the government's concerns why they decided this shouldn't be taught as a subject or topic. On another account, A man who was narrating the war experience to us sometimes ago in the office, said "We killed those Igbo people ehn, chai! we kill them plenti plenti, we bought their houses at chikini moni while they fled to the East" *spoken in his dialect, I translated this to Pidgin for sake of this content* From the quote, you'd have noticed the angle the man inclined towards, such person would do more damage than good if he happens to be a teacher that's to deliver a topic on Biafra war. Now, in other to prevent biased teaching, Government forbids that it be discussed -deeply- in the classroom or 'slightly touched at the minimum level and not further discussed beyond the class' But, what is the way out? We can't continue to avoid it, because one way it still find a way to creep into our mind, thanks to social media, brutal videos and images are shared on Fallen Heroes' day, so without proper enlightenment, the effect we are trying so hard to avoid is still taking place. Anger, infuriation, hatred, distrust are the result of these narrations. How do we construct the curriculum (not fine tuned) such that it be taught in classes, because despite that none of my generation and the ones of my parent didn't serve any slave master, the account of the slave trade still creep into people's mind and cause them to hate the Colonial masters, similar (or even worse) hatred is what the Biafra experience is causing. so, what is the way OUT? soon, all the main actors will be go to rest and all we'll forever have is hearsays and stories. - should the actors say the truth? truth can even be damaging than constructed lies, but can we bear the truth? - should they apologize? I'm sorry doesn't really change events too - should a National Confab (where every tribe is duly represented) be held where intellectuals not tribalists would gather to suggest a perfect solution on how to teach us our ugly past, to avoid biased story. I really don't have the right knowledge to suggest things, but what do you think? how best can it be taught? no need to talk about the war on this post, we all agreed it was ugly, very bloody indeed, Just suggestion where we can all unlearn and learn.

MUSLIMS fought for Hijab for Law and Nurse muslim practitioner, they GOT IT! CAN fought for this and that and got the presidency to invite them for tete-a-tete We shouted #EndSARS and got the NASS' attention What if we collectively demand for something beneficiary to all citizens Is there any religion that doesn't want stable electricity? Is there any tribe/ethnic-group that won't like their youths to have Job security? How about we all collectively demand for Electricity? The same way we shared hate speech and trendy temporary news (most recently, Dino's court case, Kemi NYSC, Ekiti Drama) They control our narratives, manipulate our mind Distract us with different scripted drama And ultimately, influence our actions So, we don't ask the right questions Instead of Economy, we discuss crisis and chaos Instead of technology research, we deliberate which religion is holier Rather than more Job creation, we discuss tribal difference. Let's start with electricity hashTag #LightUp9ja We continue the hashTag #LightUp9Ja till we get stable electricity. Or is it impossible? Afterall, we saw Fashola video explaining how we can achieve stable power supply So, Mr Fashola and MBuhari #LightUp9ja |

It wasn't GEJ's money Neither is it PMB's money It is Nigeria's! Our NATION! Why complain GEJ started a project So, what really do you expect? They should leave it there to rot? Or wait for Jonathan to contest and win again so he can commission it himself? Irrespective of who initiated, completed or finished a project... positive developments should be welcomed by all THEY ARE NOT DOING US A FAVOUR, IT IS WHAT ELECTED LEADERS DO Afterall, it's not their personal money, it is the Nation that pays for it. #LightUp9Ja |

There was election last year in Anambra and Ondo state, both incumbent were not in APC, was Obiano of Anambra dramatic? Was Mimiko of Ondo this thuggy? Then, why are you still being fooled by this Script actor, Fayose? I think I have a clue... He is capitalising on our hatred for Buhari to win our mumu over, if not so... He told us Buhari was dead in London, that he has inside source feeding him with update, we believed him, When it turned out to be false, we didn't question his integrity. A ruling president came to your state, no adequate preparation to welcome him, rather, you destabilise things to work the other way round, yet we kept quiet and applaud him. I was in Anambra when Obiano welcomed Buhari and updated him on progress in his state, yet Obiano won the election. Why should we hail all this drama and clap for the actors? Are we not ashamed of ourselves |

Damfostopper:If you don't need, you don't have to discourage others. People work in block factory for 1,500naira a day Labourers at construction site would give you the best lesson. Life is not gonna be equal for everyone, some private schools, you'll teach for 30days and evening lessons, yet to get 10,000naira, you'll still beg your proprietor. So, what really is your point? Not to talk of the advantage of coordination you'll learn which goes a long way to improve your work and status. |

According to a history of Afonja (in Ilorin) that I read and saw the movie many years ago. There was a local war preparation between the Afonja and another neighbouring village, the warrior wants to conquer the other by all means that he hire northerner mercenaries to fight his own tribe. He hired them and they triumph in the battle, they sang song-of-victory back home, upon reaching the aafin, the hired warriors seiged the aafin (palace), ousted the oba and installed their own person afterall they were the ones who won the war. It was a coup, they took over power with strenght, the Yorubas, scared and unwillingly submitted to the powerful soilders and warrior. That was how we have the first Emir in the Yoruba culture. (I stand to be corrected on this history) Now, these recent Obas that changed to 'turban' for EMIRs as against our own 'ADE' for OBAs willingly, befuddled me because it has a bad history and it seems they (the oba) are mixing their Islam with our own culture and if this pace continues, there would be confusion for the next generation. Or could it be Politics and not religion as perceived, the southWest obaship is more or less a mere title now, many weigh little or no power, some of their immediate subjects don't even regard them by according the expected homage to the Obas, this is saddening, it wasn't like that in the past. From the controversial book of 'Awujale of Ijebu', I read that when Babangida wanted to Annul the 1994 election of M.K.O Abiola, it was the Kings that were soughted, at that period the Awujale was away in oversea, a private carrier was sent by government to bring him home. That is to imply that their seat were highly respected that he was sent for. The kings were told of the decision to Annul the election before Babaginda went to media Another book to buttress how our kings used to be important is MY WATCH by Obasanjo: I learnt from the book that when he (Obasanjo) was transferred to the southWest from North as the Military Commander a popular resistance-group to the government back then the AGBEKOYAs (farmer resist oppression) was becoming so strong and giving the state govt serious trouble, it was a Yoruba Oba that was consulted and he tactically helped the Nigerian Army solve the issue. Now, this era, The kings are not included in decision making or at least sought for their input and opinion on delicate matters, rather they are invited to social gatherings and parties. Personally, I hate the fact that the Kings are under the governor of their states, that means if a 35 year old becomes governor, he decides for our old-aged kings, he installs and upgrade whoever he deem fit, just like governor Ahmed of Kwara state upgraded his small village king to 1st-Class status. Our heritage is sweet! Our Lineage should be preserved! How can we reclaim the lost glory of our kings? Is it even possible at all! |

You're always quick to compare our country with 1st world standard but those things that needs to be put in place to get to that stage doesn't just happen overnight. A cabinet member, Ben Carson was invited to House to explain how furniture bought to office cost so much as $31,000 See link --> https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=343095426180899&id=211390269351416 Compare this to our proposed 2017 budget, This is no where close to our furniture allocation for various offices , same furniture may appear in 2018 budget again as it did in 2016 too. numerous frivolous items listed there, (PDF 2017 budget from my drive)download link --> https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WhMcQPfwAK4l8SmoLGmKunshZWU7RYyy/view?usp=drivesdk Now, we have a government ready to take us to that stage we desire, by making sure offices and official are accountable for naira spent, but we saying it's 'witch-hunt' even when they are given the opportunity to visit court and defend themselves with the best lawyers available. All you do is complain without going through things meticulously. Do you even know how to run an organisation? more a country |
In the northern Nigeria, it is just a cultural thing for Younger ones to squat for the older ones. Just like in my (Yoruba) culture, we prostrates to greet elders. See image of Wizkid prostrasting for Sunny-Ade And Davido for 2-Face.

Olesekeniwoye:yes it happens, very well. GTapp unlike AccessMobile must save a beneficiary before you can send to it. Access would ask if you want to save? |
mandae:but the bank can view the customer's account and get his contact. then go ahead to call him |
On Wednesday 18th October. using GTapp I mistakenly Transferred a sum of 35,520naira (see attachment) to an ECO BANK customer saved on my beneficiary list. attached image: instead of 1, I transferred to 2. Acct: ******0188 Amt: NGN35,520.00 DR Desc: Instant Transfer Outward-TO ECO/OGUNBOTE KAZEEM AYOOLA Avail Bal: NGN------ I went to bank immediately, GTB customer care emailed EcoBank to inform them of my complian. I also went to EcoBank to explain my predicament, if only the Customer care could freeze the said amount temporarily before, my explanation wasn't considered. on getting to bank the next day Thursday, EcoBank replied email that the account has been emptied. now, the man who gave me the money to send to his son for school upkeep is fighting my father that I've scammed them, they won't listen to all my explanations. everybody saying it's a dead road, that I should forget it BUT this man won't leave my dad alone and the truth won't come out. please, can EcoBank contact the said customer at least to discuss this my problem? we should restore customers trust in Nigerian Banks.

It's a good and bold step, but I think all the states need to work together because, they will just go to another state to continue the "alms receiving" exercise. For instance if Kano reduces to 5% won't the neighboring state increase to 95% because these less privileged guyz have nothing than this skill. Thats my take. |
been receiving sms from AIRTEL that #1500 for 6GB, then a friend said they only give 2GB, who has tried and verify this? you know asking is another way of finding out. |
