bintudon: I do import wristwatches that come with bracelet and educational kids tablet....what does it take for a person to become an importer of goods.. |
newacca: Creative and logical thinking can help you in identifying a societal or global problem. Curiosity, findings, capacity building will help you come up with solution. Your gut, passion and skills will help you create a business model for this solution to transform it into a venture for you. All the best....thanks for such an inspiring words,I really appreciate it..although I'm in Lagos yet I will still follow your group to know what's up there.... |

newacca: My simple and reasonable advice is: if you can't get a job, get a skill ( if you want to go farther, prepare yourself and mind right from college to become an employer rather than becoming an employee )..I support your view but how do one go about it..pls,we need to know... |

israel7732: UPS at this day and age?........ Sine wave inverter rocks....yea,pure sine wave inverter is the best which will give equivalent of Nepa's output supply or rather modified sine wave inverter... |
mecherine: it depends on what you really need from your UPS. Mine I just need it to power my laptop. I hv mercury 1200 pro ups which I converted to inverter by adding more ups battery and adding fan to it. Though am still going to add more bigger battery to it, still on testing mood. I will construct external battery charger to it. For now it is working properly. I will update the info as time goes on...to save yourself from unnecessary stress, why not go for inverter @ once! ??I believe anybody who use ups as backup solutions is ill-informed or not a well-trained engineer in the field but maybe he sees it on a platter of gold....... |
erasergozy: @Op well done for this! I am currently employed and working my as* off, I know so well that if I invest half this energy to my own thing I will be putting food on many others peoples table. So its now a matter of importance dat I do my thing, contribute my quota and put smiles on people face cos no be only me waka come...yea,no be only u waka com..what do u av in the offing..mind you,you have to be fully prepared for it and look for trusted hands In managing it on your behalf except if you want to be selling chin chin alikes#joking..let's hear your view so that others can learn... |

shegz4law: I'm passionate about starting a business... I really wish there are institutions in Nigeria established for the purpose of providing loans with low interest rates......there's virtually none and the few available ones charge high interest rate..my own advise to you is to think big and start small..#start from where you are now |
jamalee: Baba 11, you've really opened a good thread: a thread that has meaning and really make sense. Though our Government has not done good in the area of job employmem, if I want to view it from my own perspective. Wha I think about this qualm is that our population is increasing everyday. Nigeria is presently over two hundred million and Lagos is taking the highest of the populatio. Lagos is now over twenty million. Increasing in our population has caused the problem of unemployment in Nigeria because everybody want to go to School. Every year, millions of students are graduating from Universities, Polytechnics, College of Educations. Tell me, if these millions were employed this year, would next year million Graduates be employed too? What of the upper year? Or the employed ones last year will be sacked because of this year fresh Graduates? Let us think and re-think about this situation on ground. It's not only Nigeria that has this problem of unemloyment. It happens in America England, Germany, France, Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Canada, Egypt, Ghana, India, and the rest of the World. Now, this my advice. Let us look for a problem and then look for the solution to the problem you have identified or you should feel a need for people: that is the secret of doing business. The problem of our Graduates is that they want to engage themselves in blue-collar jobs or dirty work. They want to be engaged in white-collar jobs or neat work. Most of them want to work in Banks, MTN, glo, airtel, P & G, Nestle, Cadbury,Glaxosmithkline, Emzor, Orange drugs, Larfage, Dangote, AP, Mobil, Con oil, Forte oil, Famfa oil, Chevron, etc not knowing that it is not easy like that. Some know how to start a business while some don't. Those that know how to start lack fund, like me. Those that don't kow how to start is not their fault. It is either they lack useful information or don't know anything at all due to the education they had in their various Tertiary Institutions. Those that built those giants or gigantic Companies don't have education. Those that had did it in a part-time way when they become successful. So think and re-think. I'll keep inspiring my fellow Nairalanders and Nigerians at a whole. I'm coming, I want to take my cup of coffee. Wanna join me? Okay, let's go...yea,I support you,I share your view 100% and I would love to hear more from you...keep it coming after sipping your coffee... What's the next step now?we can't maintain the status quo.. Although I'm working but I have more passion for agriculture Let's get talking.... |
boluwajokosegun: If you dont have time but have money & interest in agriculture you best bet is to set up farm & give consultant to run while you use your litter spear time to learn slowly and then take charge when you are ready to do it full time.thanks! |
TheUnbeatable: A nursery is a place where seedlings are raised. Most tree crops pass through the nursery before they are planted on the field. Flowers too are reproduced in the nursery.thanks, where do one source for improved seedling in Lagos? |
TheUnbeatable: Crop nursery business.Expatiate pls! |
hotmas911: Happy new month bro! I will like to see your view, we can learn a lot from one another.thanks.. I read your piece with rapt attention and I can deduce from it that although, the writer is right but if we consider Nigeria clime, he is wrong.!For any successful farmer,he must get support most especially from the government. If we really want to achieve this, commercial or large scale farming must be practised. What about the availability of land, fertiliser subsidy, interest free loan.Storage mechanism is also not on ground.Do you expect me to harvest a large hectares of land and sell everything @ once. That's not possible,I'll run at a loss..... |
hotmas911: Its possible! You can!!! Make it happen in September. 20 more days to go...to go where? |
@hotmass911:It depends on several conditions! |
Does anyone know the best agro-allied business for busy worker with limited space but has financial capabilities! ![]() ![]() |
...to grow it is not a problem but to get it sell is the major problem.I couldn't remember when last i saw it displayed openly in our major markets except during Abacha regime when there was scarcity in money and food supply in the country! If i can be guaranted ready made market, why not?I'll take it up!!!! |
chukwuma101: APC will lose National Credibility if they field Buhari as the flagbearer. Buhari is only a general in the North. He's got nothing on SW, SE and SS. APC would be championing the re-election of GEJ if they fail to field a credible alternative come 2015.Mind you, acn, apga, anpp joined together to form APC so because of this,I can tell you they still get support from other regions. What they need is fielding buhari or any northern candidate. The only region I fear for them is SE ..there,they have a very slim of winning... |
Deputy Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces, Brigadier General Masoud Jazayeri, has claimed that the Israeli spy drone shot down near the Natanz nuclear site in the city of Isfahan took off from a neighbouring country, north of Iran. According to Iran's Fars news agency, Jazaeri did not disclose the name of the country; however, he did reveal that the state in question used to be a member of the former Soviet Union, possibly in reference to Azerbaijan, which has close military relations with Israel. Haaretz newspaper reported that in 2012, the government in Azerbaijan negotiated a $1.6 billion deal with Israel for purchasing drones and missile defence systems. Jazaeri warned the unnamed state to avoid repeating the same mistake in future; otherwise, Iran would disclose its name to the public. Iran shares its northern borders with three post-Soviet states: Armenia, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, the latter which Iran has criticised in the past over its relations with Israel. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced on 24 August that they had downed an Israeli spy drone that was trying to approach the Natanz nuclear site in Isfahan, using surface to air missiles. Iranian state television broadcast on Monday a brief video showing what appeared to be parts of the battleship-grey drone, which was identified as the remnants of a Hermes 450 drone, a known Israeli model. Israel has not issued any statement on the subject until now. Source: https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/news/middle-east/13795-iran-israeli-downed-drone-took-off-from-a-neighbouring-country |
A cold war has broken out among presidential aspirants in the All Progressives Congress, APC following reported entreaties by younger elements among the contenders to persuade erstwhile head of state, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari out of the contest. The party also called on past leaders of the country to salvage the country from total collapse in the hands of present administration. National chairman of the party Chief John Oyegun made the call when he led top members of the party to the Up Hill resident of former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida on a courtesy visit Thursday night. He noted that with what was going on in the country, Nigeria’s future was very bleak both economically and socially with the electorate left to suffer from the mismanagement of the country’s resources and that it was now left for the past leaders to join hands together to bring the country to its right path. However, Buhari, the object of the alleged gang-up, meanwhile has travelled abroad for what sources told Saturday Vanguard is a comprehensive medical check up ahead of his declaration for the 2015 presidential contest. Close associates of the general who had earlier chosen September 1 to announce Buhari’s intention to vie for the presidential ticket of the party, were yesterday, said to be contemplating the deferment of the launch on account of the general’s absence. Besides Buhari, former vice-president Atiku Abubakar, Governor Rabiu Kwankwanso, Leadership Newspaper publisher, Sam Nda-Isaiah are among those said to be jostling for the presidential ticket of the country’s major opposition political party. The intentions of the party leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu remain unclear as party insiders spoke yesterday of unclear signals from the former Lagos governor on his intentions. Also in the permutation of party insiders is Speaker Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, who though still a member of the National Executive Committee, NEC of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is believed to be a top contender for the presidential ticket of the opposition party. Until recently, there had been suggestions that Buhari would back Speaker Tambuwal in the event he declines from contesting. Meanwhile, the Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has asked the people of the state to help him beg a former governor of the state, Chief Olusegun Osoba to pave way for reconciliation of the crisis lingering in the All Progressives Congress in the state. Amosun who expressed his willingness to contest for a second term due to the overwhelming commendation and love from the people of the state, said Chief Osoba remained his leader and that of the party, saying he would not do anything to undermine his leadership. The governor stated this, yesterday, while speaking in a special interview session on a private radio station, Rockcity FM, based in Abeokuta. The APC in the state is factionalised into two groups. One of the groups is loyal to the governor while the other one is loyal to Chief Olusegun Osoba. Despite earlier hopes of the readiness of Buhari to endorse one of the younger aspirants, the former head of state, it was learnt, has upon the persuasion of his core followers decided to forge ahead with his aspiration. One of the other younger aspirants in the contest, (not Tambuwal) it was learnt had approached the general for an endorsement in consideration of his, Buhari’s age – Buhari is 70 – but the former head of state it was learnt had clearly rebuffed him citing what he claimed was the aspirant’s alleged emotional instability and allegations of financial impropriety with public funds. Following the rebuff, Buhari it was learnt, proceeded for a medical check up to assess and prepare his physical readiness for the contest. The medical trip it was learnt may have led to the postponement of his declaration which had been scheduled for September 1. Meanwhile, intrigues within the top hierarchy of the ruling party are continuing to unfold. The foundation members of the APC, it was learnt are also laying out strategies to frustrate what insiders say is the plan by former PDP members in the party to buy up the presidential nomination. That plan, Saturday Vanguard learnt, inspired the introduction of the modified direct primaries as a method of checking the influence of the money bags. “The use of the modified direct system or open ballot is to limit the influence of the moneybags and Atiku is one of the principal targets,” a source privy to the development said. “You know many are afraid of Atiku, he has money, he has reach and if you allow the delegate system he has the capacity and the network to easily get the ticket and I can tell you that many people are simply afraid of Atiku” the source revealed. Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the National Publicity Secretary of the party had last week announced the use of the modified direct system of primariyes under which at least 300,000 persons woultd choose the party’s presidential candidate. It was, however, learnt that despite the announcement of the use of the open ballot system would be used, sources revealed that it was as at now still part of the proposals on offer as one source revealed that the National Executive Committee, NEC of the party was yet to ratify it. The delay in ratifying the proposal it was learnt was lending credibility to suggestions of the possibility of the party reverting to the delegate system. Gaddafi's Last Speech!!! In the name of Allah, the ...beneficent, the merciful... For 40 years, or was it longer, I can't remember, I did all I could to give people houses, hospitals, schools, and when they were hungry, I gave them food. I even made Benghazi into farmland from the desert, I stood up to attacks from that cowboy Ronald Reagan, when he killed my adopted orphaned daughter, he was trying to kill me, instead he killed that poor innocent child. Then I helped my brothers and sisters from Africa with money for the African Union. I did all I could to help people Understand the concept of real democracy, where people's committees ran our country. But that was never enough, as some told me, even people who had 10 room homes, new suits and furniture, were never satisfied, as selfish as they were they wanted more. They told Americans and other visitors, that they needed "democracy" and "freedom" never realizing it was a cut throat system, where the biggest dog eats the rest, but they were enchanted with those words, never realizing that in America, there was no free medicine, no free hospitals, no free housing, no free education and no free food, except when people had to beg or go to long lines to get soup. No, no matter what I did, it was never enough for some, but for others, they knew I was the son of Gamal Abdel Nasser, the only true Arab and Muslim leader we've had since Salah-al-Deen, when he claimed the Suez Canal for his people, as I claimed Libya, for my people, it was his footsteps I tried to follow, to keep my people free from colonial domination - from thieves who would steal from us. Now, I am under attack by the biggest force in military history, my little African son, Obama wants to kill me, to take away the freedom of our country, to take away our free housing, our free medicine, our free education, our free food, and replace it with American style thievery, called "capitalism" ,but all of us in the Third World know what that means, it means corporations run the countries, run the world, and the people suffer. So, there is no alternative for me, I must make my stand, and if Allah wishes, I shall die by following His path, the path that has made our country rich with farmland, with food and health, and even allowed us to help our African and Arab brothers and sisters. I do not wish to die, but if it comes to that, to save this land, my people, all the thousands who are all my children, then so be it. Let this testament be my voice to the world, that I stood up to crusader attacks of NATO, stood up to cruelty, stoop up to betrayal, stood up to the West and its colonialist ambitions, and that I stood with my African brothers, my true Arab and Muslim brothers, as a beacon of light. When others were building castles, I lived in a modest house, and in a tent. I never forgot my youth in Sirte, I did not spend our national treasury foolishly, and like Salah-al-Deen, our great Muslim leader, who rescued Jerusalem for Islam, I took little for myself... In the West, some have called me "mad", "crazy", but they know the truth yet continue to lie, they know that our land is independent and free, not in the colonial grip, that my vision, my path, is, and has been clear and for my people and that I will fight to my last breath to keep us free, may Allah almighty help us to remain faithful and free. -Mu'ummar Qaddafi. May Allah 4give and grant you with Jannatul firdaus. Ameeen Source:www.davidicke.com/forum/showthread.php?t=187992
