Midas01: That is your headache to worry about. What I'm saying and can confirm however is that he was already a billionaire long before he was at the corridors of power. I knew his wife and kids and even went to their house a couple of times. I can tell you some of his kids names and the names of his wife's sisters (or cousins), I can even give the house address so you can go make your research if you want. I know he had several businesses including having several gas stations. Alaye flush! |

Dasuks: You're on point. A billion naira in the late 80s was like 20-40 million (even more when we adjust for cpi for purchasing power) usd and the national budget was something like 10 billion or so as 1986 to 1989 oil glut deflated prices in the hydrocarbon market. Ofc those who dont infer smartly or just plain believe everything they see without any reference wouldn't see these things...
Even Abiola them were not just talking billions anyhow. Hell Dangote wasnt even doing revenues topping just a billion. U hear such nonsense talk from ppl like this and not real industrial powers of old such as Rabiu( BUA's late father), Dantata, Modandola, Ibru... I mean if Ibeto says he made a billion in the early 80s that wouldnt be hard to believe. The spare parts business was good to the dominant Nnewi entrepreneurs who were able to surf the waves of uncertainty and border closures of that time and actually had the physical capital in hotels factories houses etc to prove it.
Summary: Umahi is a liar. And is a two faced neither-here-nor-there politician. Thanks and God bless you for this well detailed analysis |

frowland: Hahaha, it is in the mind. Wise & rich man, we have heard. Thanks! Smh For you to make a billion in a legit business, you must have invested more than that either in capital or asset. I guess you know nothing about business. That one concern you, I no dey follow you argue again |
Politics › Re: I Became A Billionaire At 25 – Governor Umahi by BabaIbo: 11:22am On Oct 11, 2019 |
frowland: Billionaire according to the article is just a billion naira not usd. Unless you have a different window to view life, it is possible. You can wallow in the vagueness of your assertion if that pleases you. Not here to argue. You're daft, people like you believe everything you read online. Using that nonsense illustration(rice, yam, oil etc) as a point to explain that he made the billion before 25 shows the kind of person you are, grow up and leave that cave. For you to make a billion in a legit business, you must have invested more than that either in capital or asset. I guess you know nothing about business |
Politics › Re: I Became A Billionaire At 25 – Governor Umahi by BabaIbo: 10:06am On Oct 11, 2019 |
frowland: Most abakaliki guys I know are highly enterprising. You will see them very young and yet own a very good business or own a small hotel or such. During my school days in Futo 20yrs ago, many innovative Buka joints, photocopy shops etc were owned by them. Fastfoward to present and I still see many of them, still young but own small hotels and businesses (They largely start small by d way) Their major source of income was Rice, Yam, Oil. They horde it and sell when the price go up. They are not the most enterprising people, how many of them are/were billionaires before 25 like their governor claimed. You can't even justify his claim with that story of rice, yam etc. Abeg, it's either he's lying or he got it fraudulently/illegally. |

dukeprince50: He isn't, I am 26yrs old, not a billionaire though but I am somewhere you could say "way above average" its not about hardwork, its about investing your time into something profitable I work for 280 hours everyday and will want to work for 80,000hrs before my 50yrs. someone who works for 8-10 hrs daily can't be richer than I am.

Midas01: This man and his family were my neighbor for several years before he dreamt of being a billionaire and we've always known him to be very rich as he had the biggest and the most beautiful mansion in our estate then so please this man is not trying to justify anything. So he became a billionaire before the age of 25, right? Now answer this question, what is the name of his business then or which business is he into since you're his neighbor back then |

You can as well verify from people especially elders. Thank you for trying. You are right, even from the question you can decode the answer... "2 managed to cross, how many did not make the crossing... all of them made the crossing maybe only 2 managed to survive it while the remaining 4 didn't make it |

raphtunde: This consultant u hia watin him talk ba? U wey like ITK no go there go correct them ooooo Stop mocking the guy, it's enough... This is a race, everyone go bear him papa name.... The last FRSC screening I met some guys working in private sectors and earning good salaries but their major complain is job security... See if you're earning 400k+ and you don't have job security, you won't be comfortable. And if it happens someone earning 500k+ is sacked from his or her place of work(unexpectedly even if he or she expected it), there is no way he or she won't be depressed or enter sad mood... So do your own and leave others, if they are forming, na for their heads and if not it's all good... Your major aim should be how to make it |
