FamilyThe Reason why wives feel reluctant to host their inlaws by babeabike(op):
Here is my story ;

I got married early this year and I'm heavily pregnant (38weeks).Since we got married its been only my family and friends visiting that had to spend the night.Aside my MIL who comes like every other week to help and look out for me,none of my husband's fam Av had to spend the night.

Then last week my hubby informed me that his paternal cousin will be spending Xmas season with us.I first got pissed when he said he will be going to pick her from their place.I said maka why a girl of 18.but told him if he insisted, he can go ahead to do d pick up even though I found it unreasonable.

Since the girl arrived on Thurs, she seats like a queen in my living room while I sweat out in my kitchen(note I'm heavily pregnant). And when food is ready,my husband calls out for her to pick her food. Then yesternight, I said I'm not hungry and of cos tired and since the house is full of food, she should go and cook whatever she likes because of that she went to bed without eating.

Since that yesterday she started locking herself in the room.imagine? This morning she woke up forming stomach pain,so my MIL who came around did all the chores including cooking.

To cut the long story short.if this girl was my family,I would Av called her to order. But I've decided to be quite because definitely this is her first and last opportunity to visit.

My mum has been here severely since I took in and when she comes, she helps with all d chores inclusive cooking(note, she is a senior lecturer,no b say she jobless oooh).Even when my elder sister passed a night sometimes ago,she helped out inclusive folding all my husband's cloths(note she is married and also gainfully employed). That's just to mention a few of my ppl, others are my sis in law, cousins and even my friends. They never sit and watch me sweat out, talkless of a small girl.

I'm already thinking making up my mind that aside my Parents in-law,I may not entertain all those young cousins and relatives from my husband's side because I cannot take such shits.because if it wasn't holiday, would she wait for me everyday from work(after driving in Lagos traffic) to come cook for her without giving a helping hand.

Maybe its just my take but for me this is one of those obvious reasons wives bar husband's fam from coming around

Onegai:
You can have it made (but good luck finding a great stress-free carpenter 8 months pregnant) or you can have it assembled separately. Buy the crib, measure its length and use that number to buy a chest of drawers. Then buy a changing pad to put on top of the crib. You can then get a carpenter to paint it the colour you want or diy AFTER you give birth. I've seen an assembled changing station but it was open shelves and seemed made of hard plastic, about N45,000b(?) at Ebeano supermarket.
Thanks...I will check it out at Ebeano

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nestle!!!...why This????...sad!!! by babeabike: 5:18pm On Jun 13, 2015
RileyFreeman1:
I am sad and unhappy about how a specific Nestle recruitment campaign was handled by Nestle Nigeria. I feel even worse because research have shown that other people have experienced the same treatment. Some have experienced even worse.

I know there are Nestle employees here on Nairaland, so it will do me great joy if someone explains this situation and why Nestle does this.

I applied for an opening late last year with Nestle, luckily for me, I got invited for a Dragnet test which I gladly attended. Fortunately for me, I passed the Dragnet Test.
About a week after receiving a Dragnet success email, I received another invite from Nestle to attend a function based test which I did. Few weeks later, I received another email that I was successful at the Function test.

About 2 weeks later, I received an interview invite mail and call, I was happy at the speed and professionalism of the entire process because I knew no one working with Nestle and I was convinced that the entire process had been outstandingly meritocratic.
I attended the Nestle interview, very few people were present for the interview. I did my very best at the interview and as God will have it, about two weeks later I received a follow up email that I was successful at the interview.
I was very happy because Nestle is a company I have utmost respect for and building my career with such a company was a dream come through.

This is June the 12th, 2015, Its been about 5 months since I received the last interview success mail. I was concerned so I networked with some Nestle staff via LinkedIn.com. To my surprise, I was told some people did medicals and resumed about 3 months ago for the same opening. I was also made to believe that 95% of these people previously worked with Nestle as contract staff, now they have been made full time staff.

I initially felt bad but I also know about other interviewed candidates who received regret mails from Nestle after the interview where I received success mail.

It will be very much appreciated if someone from Nestle explains why this is happening.

Why have I been left in the dark by Nestle?

Why no follow up email has been sent since over 5 months?

What exactly is going on?

Do I still remain positive about being contacted by Nestle?

If possible, Nestle Nigeria HR should look into this because it seems like a very unfair treatment. A follow up correspondence to candidates who will work with you in the future will really ease a lot of tension. It also shows top class professionalism on your part as a company.
Op I feel your pain and I understand where you are coming from because I've been there but you must understand this and to all those who have similar experiences.

Success mails are not job offer letters. They are only a way of letting you know that from a whole lot of candidates, you were among the successful ones.this does not mean they have done final selection.because 45 could be successful for 30 slots.

Nestle I know is an equal opportunity employer.

I wish you all the best.when one door closes, just look around ,another door might be waiting open for u
PoliticsRe: Buhari Meets Journalist He Jailed As Military Ruler by babeabike: 6:30am On May 06, 2015
AndreRose:
Probably the journalist was jailed because he lawfully used his journalism position to dissipate information to the people which Buhari saw as a threat to him and jailed the journalist. Yes, Buhari has apologised but this is the same thing that can be presumed to have happened recently; the AIT has been warned from televising some things about him. What's the way forward for our journalist? Are they still gona have their freedom of information as enshrined in the
constitution after may 29?
And again, look who is talking about the dirty tactics of PDP like he didn't use Bokoharam to put GEJ off. And minors equally voted in the north. Is that what you call a "decent campaign"?
Jonathan was decent enough, despite being the president he conceded, would Buhari had done that? We all know the answer.
Did you loose your brain ? You ne correct mumu
Jobs/VacanciesWhat Makes Federal Job Most Secured Job by babeabike(op): 7:52am On May 03, 2015
It pisses me when people say federal job is the most secured job because for me there is no secured job anywhere.

It is only in Nigeria that government jobs are most secured because of the laisse affairs attitude from top to bottom.

Why would I want to die in a government job? A job that gives less exposure, experience and even less pay except for those in Agencies.

Just before anyone thinks its because I've not gotten a job with fed govt. I worked with one of the Fed ministries before I left despite I was hired on level 10.

The whole 2015 election was won and lost between Jonathan and Jega team.
Jega team comprise of hausafulani muslims and their slaves all encased in APC while Jonathan team are highly literate Nigerians, christian majority spread across the south and middlebelt.
Jega used his umpire status to rig for his team while Jonathan a honest and humble man insisted on doing the right thing!
Karma is a law. It will surely catch up with APC sooooooon!!

rimzo:
Fellow Nairalanders, i greet you all.
I have to take some time out within my busy schedule to write this little note. Mind you, this write-up is not sponsored neither is any cash benefit attached.

have you ever heard of a business that can give someone a return of over 99%? Some might be wondering what this kind of business is. The business is right now in town. The business is POLITICS.

The huge investment in political jingles on radio, TV, billboards, handbills ,stickers, hand-bangs and other items on display by APC in Lagos is alarming. If they can invest this much to get their candidate in, then let's have it in mind that our state allocation will suffer if they occupy the seat of governance in Lagos.Politicians invest 1million for example and in return they expect more than 1Billion...
I remember when Governor Fashola was contesting elections, APC did not spend this much on campaigns.

Now let's think Lagosians... The amount spent for this year's APC governorship campaign is too much and is going to have negative effect on the financial books of the state for the next 2-3 years if eventually we allow them remain in Alausa.
#ChangeinLagos
I swear you didn't make any sense.

So pdp isn't investing by spending on jimi's campaign? The money fell from heaven

Go and tell ur pdp partners that you not fit for the job

When last was robbery reported in Lagos...I mean of this magnitude?

This is happening at a time of Jona's incessant visits to distribute dollars.

Isn't this obvious that either directly or indirectly JONAH is responsible

And to blind jonathanians who cannot reason on their own and ask why is he blamed for everything?

A leader should take responsibility of his action and his inaction.he doesn't have to wait to be blamed and then defend...

Jonah take responsibility are get out of the seat wch is obviously too hot for your kind

[/b]By May 29, 1999, we had 23 PDP governors, 6 AD, and 7 APP. 16 years later, this is their story:

(A) PDP (23 governors)
1. James lbori - PDP Delta - in prison for looting
2. DSP Alamieseigha - PDP Bayelsa - Ex-convict for looting
3. Lucky Igbinedion - PDP Edo - Ex-convict for looting
4. Peter Odili - PDP Rivers - In court for looting
5. Chimaroke Nnamani - PDP Enugu - In court for looting
6. Ayo Fayose - PDP Ekiti - In court for looting
7. Rasheed Ladoja - PDP Oyo - In court for looting
8. Alao Akala - PDP Oyo - In court for looting
9. Gbenga Daniel - PDP Ogun - In court for looting
10. Ikenna Ohakim - PDP Imo - In court for looting
11. Adamu Muazu - Bauchi (current PDP National
Chairman) - In court for looting over N19 Billion from the state treasury
12. Joshua Dariye - PDP Plateau - In court for looting
13. Jolly Nyame - PDP Taraba - In court for looting the state treasury
14. Abdulahi Adamu - PDP Nassarawa - In court for looting the state treasury
15. Boni Haruna - PDP Adamawa - (newly appointed minister by President Jonathan) -
In court for looting the treasury
16. Saminu Turaki - EX-Gov. PDP Jigawa - In court for looting the treasury
17. Orji Uzor Kalu - PDP Abia - In court for looting the treasury

(B-). AD to AC- 6 govs.

NO Ex governor has ever been taken to court for treasury looting.
NOTE:- Tinubu of Lagos was dragged to Code of Conduct Tribunal for having foreign accounts while in power against government
policy of zero foreign account for public officials. He was found not guilty because he had the accounts before his election to the office of governor.
Case dismissed!

(C) APP - (ANPP) 7 governors
1. Attahiru Baffarawa - APP Sokoto - In court
for looting (he is now in a PDP member)
2. Prince Abubakar Audu - ANPP Kogi - In
court for looting.

So APC made up of AD/ AC/ACN of the past is
leading the pack. Does it not make perfect
sense to allow these people to lead at the center?

Patient said something that portrays her as someone uncultured and without decorum and here comes dummy pro jona saying "dnt ppl call Jonah names"

Yes ppl do in fact worse names but not from the APC camp members like the ones who are shame to their families from the pdp camp.

The most funny I ever had was after attending all stages of interview with a multinational.the final interview date was 24th Dec 20144

To make matters worse I was the one on key in the bank branch I work for that week.I had to open the door even if I would disappear. But how do I disappear after opening the door because I knew my boss would compel I work and the visit the hospital later in the day even if I formed sick wch that will mean missing the interview.

What I did? OPened the door early enough that nobody men me.then I disappeared with a msg to my boss that I had gone back to the hospital that I had only come to open the door from my hospital bed.

After the interview,I had to decorate my hand with plaster and claimed I had just finished receiving drips.

To cut d story...short.i got d job.. .to God be all the glory
