27-year-old hairdresser, Daryll Rowe who faces a potential life sentence for trying to infect as many men as possible with HIV was filmed lying to police when he told them he did not have the virus.

Daryll who originally is from Edinburgh, infected five men from the Brighton area and the North East with HIV while five others narrowly escaped contracting the life-changing virus.

He was found guilty of five counts of causing grievous bodily harm and five of attempting to cause GBH today in a prosecution hailed as the first of its kind.

A court heard he infected the men in a ‘revenge’ campaign on the gay community after he was diagnosed with HIV.

The judge adjourned sentencing until next year but warned Rowe he could face a life sentence for his crimes.

The court heard he was “laughing” when he called his second victim, who also tested positive for HIV after they met, “stupid”, adding: “Burn. I got you.”

He badgered the man with phone calls and seemed to be proud of what he had done, the victim said.

Rowe deliberately injured another man while having sex in a bid to transmit the virus, the court heard. He even boasted he was “riddled with diseases” when another victim found a broken condom in the sink after their encounter.

A 32-year-old woman, Kate Ude, has prayed an FCT High Court, Jabi to dissolve her four-year-old marriage to her husband, Michael Ude, over his “malfunctioning manhood”.

Kate alleged that Michael’s manhood always had inconsistent erection and that anytime the manhood became erect, he ejaculated within few seconds.

She also alleged that the man did not make known his health status before the consummation of the marriage which took place in Calabar, Cross River, in 2014.

The petitioner also said that during her traditional marriage, Michael did not show up as he was represented by his younger brother.

Kate also said that it was at the registry that she got to know him very well and prayed the court to nullify the marriage.

Responding, Michael who also filed a cross petition to divorce the woman, denied all the allegations, when cross examined by the petitioner’s lawyer, Mr Ishaka Awaliene.

“The non-erection of my manhood is not regular, it is just that l am not always in the mood whenever she is in the mood. I don’t use any enhancement drugs for sex as she alleged,’’ he said.

Ude also told the court that there was a period in June 28, 2014, when Kate left his house that she was no longer interested in the marriage.

According to Michael, she later came back after some months and decided to leave again.

Justice Venda adjourned the matter to February 6, 2018 for hearing.

The Delta State Police Command has declared one, Karo-Owei Pere Gbakumor, a militant leader wanted for the alleged kidnap of four British Citizens.

The victims, David Donavan ‘’m’, 57yrs, Shirley Donavan ‘f’, 57yrs,Alanna Carson ‘m’, Ian Squire ‘m’, now late, were abducted on October 10 in Enekorogha Community, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.

The Police also offered to give anyone who provides information that would lead to the arrest of militant leader two million naira( N2m) .

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Zanna Mohammed Ibrahim disclosed this in a statement signed by the Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka.

The declaration is coming after the Police arrested five of the suspects, including Ekpenunena Courtmember ‘m’, 19yrs,Wirly Huludu ‘m’, 35yrs, Godswill Hana ‘m’, 22yrs, James Tennes ‘m’, 45yrs and Ebimene Arerebo ‘m’, 31yrs in connection with the matter.

The Police said that the kidnappers shot Sgts. Sanusi Lanre and Agunbiade Adebayo with F/No. 359454 and F/No.360140 with a berretta pistol in the stomach and two hands respectively when they tried to effect their arrests at Sapele.

The Police noted that the injured Sgt. Sanusi Lanre, who had been on intensive care unit of DELSUTH since the shooting, later died.

The Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha has unveiled the statue built in honor of visiting Liberian president, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

Although, while appreciating the gesture of the state governor, the Liberian president said she has never received such an honor.

According to her, she has a statue in her alma mater, Harvard University, but the size of the statue cannot be compared to the one built by the Rochas Okorocha administration.

Shortly after unveiling the statue of the Liberian President, Rochas Okorocha was asked by a journalist why he is building statues and he replied:

“To immortalize people so our children yet unborn can read a piece of them. History is dying in Africa. We must keep history alive. In the next 100 years to come, most of us will not be here but this will stand for children to read stories and mold their character. A suspected ritualist reportedly returned a man’s penis after he allegedly shook his hand at Emenike junction, Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, and the penis initially disappeared.

Reports are, that the man reportedly returned the penis, after SARS officers who patrolled around the area intervened.

Monique Price, a former sex addict, has come out to raise awareness on the dangers of “too much sex” after her 10-year obsession nearly killed her. She says that she had sex over 1,000 times with more than 100 sexual partners.

Monique however had a life changing moment when a one night stand with a stranger Brandon Lamar Blu, 31, she met on a dating site in October 2016 turned into a proposal. He has now helped her overcome her spiralling addiction.

A suspected monkeypox victim, Miss Wuese Aloo, has lost her four-month-old pregnancy.

This was confirmed by the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH), Makurdi.

According to the hospital management, “the blood sample of the first victim has been taken to Senegal for screening; the result is being expected.”

Wuese said she contracted the disease from her lorry-driver boyfriend, who is nowhere to be found.

He occasionally brings goods to Gboko.

A youth corps member from Cross River State, is allegedly responsible for the pregnancy.

He has been quarantined at BSUTH while tests are being conducted.

The Enugu State Police command has confirmed the arrest of five persons who allegedly planted fetish materials, popularly known as `Juju’, in a parcel of land which led to the death of one Thomas Ezeugwu.

According to a statement on Wednesday by the Command’s spokesman, SP Ebere Amaraizu, the mysterious death happened in Nkpologwu town in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area.

Amaraizu said that the deceased was said to have slumped and died on Oct. 6 in the morning.

“Following his death, the deceased corpse was brought to his home town Nkpologwu in Uzouwani Local Government Area for burial formalities.

“As if the spirit of the deceased was hunting his alleged killers, it was gathered that as the mourning was going on, one Okolo Nicholas, Peter Ezugwu and Augustine Ezeugwu all from the same town but resident in Onitsha, Anambra, started confessing.

“The three persons, who came for burial ceremony of the deceased, allegedly called the villagers and told them how they conspired and brought Juju from Omor Town of Anambra which was invoked into their disputed land.

“They said that they took the action since the deceased sold 20 plots of the communal land without their consent,’’ he said.

Amaraizu said that on the strength of their confessions, the police swung into action to “investigate the invocation of Juju and trial by ordeal to wit-murder against the suspects, Peter Ezeugwu, Nicholas Oko and Augustine Ezeugwu”.

“The three suspects during further investigations revealed how they conspired and went to Omor Town and invoked Juju on the said land, on the ground that whoever enters the land will die.

“They submitted that the deceased may have entered the land, hence his sudden death.

“Following their official revelations, the two native doctors involved in the invocation of the juju and trial by ordeal, who gave their names as Obu Madubuike and Okafor Okoye, all from Omor town, were arrested.

“The native doctors confirmed that they were met by the three suspects for invocation of juju and that it was targeted at whoever that would enter the said land,’’ he said.

Amaraizu said that the command had commenced investigation into the matter to get to the root of the whole issue.

A 13-year-old girl, yesterday, revealed how her uncles — one Saviour Philip, 35, and Paul Philip, 17 — took turns in raping her in their one-room apartment on Olowolagba Street, off Odunsi, Bariga area of Lagos State.

She also revealed that one of the suspects also assaulted her eight-year-old cousin, while their mother was away.

Vanguard gathered that the victims and their mother moved into the suspects’ apartment five months ago, due to their parents’ inability to get an accommodation. The accommodation problem also forced the children to drop out of school.

Speaking with Vanguard, the teenager disclosed that her uncles usually assaulted her sexually whenever her mother was away.

‘He threatened to kill me’

According to the Junior Secondary School 2 student,

“Paul started it. He usually did it in the afternoon when my mother and other tenants were away. I was arranging my siblings’ clothes one afternoon when he came from behind, lifted me and dropped me on the floor. “He covered my mouth when I wanted to shout. When he was done, he threatened to kill me if I told my mother or anyone.

“When he is finished with me, he would call my little cousin inside and asked me to stay outside. At times, I would see him dipping his fingers into my cousin’s private part.

“Paul is supposed to be in SSS 3, but he said that he didn’t like going to school, particularly on the day he wanted to do it.

“Saviour also did it. But in his case, he penetrated my anus. The first day he did it, I shouted because of the pains, but he covered my mouth with clothes. When he was done, he brought out juju (charms) and said that he will invoke it to kill me if I tell anyone.

Nyeri Governor, Wahome Gakuru died in a terrible road accident that immediately claimed his live, yesterday morning, along Thika-Murang’a road while heading to Nairobi for a talk show.

Nyeri County Assembly Speaker John Kaguchia has confirmed that the Governor, his driver and bodyguard suffered serious injuries after the early morning accident and were rushed to the hospital.

The Governor was rushed to Thika Level 5 hospital awaiting a transfer to a Nairobi Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Governor Wahome’s body has been taken to Lee funeral home as the other two are admitted to hospital. He was born in 1966.

Nyeri Senator Ephraim Maina described the late Gakuru as a kind man who had the interests of Nyeri at heart.

“He was a hardworking man who had a good plan for Nyeri County. He was committed to cleaning the system and it is sad that we have lost him.

“We thank God for the time we had with him,” stated Mr Maina.

Kenyans have since taken to social media to send messages of condolences to friends and family of the late, as well as condoling with the residents of Nyeri County.

A beautiful fresh graduate of Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State, has been killed by a stray bullet, shot from a vigilante’s gun.

Identified as Uloko Lawrenta Apaume, the young girl was shot dead by the vigilante on Friday, November, 3, 2017, a day after her signing out.

The landlord of the Banking and Finance graduate, had invited vigilantes to the hostel to secure the place for the celebration of HND graduates.

However, out of celebration, the vigilantes shot into the air and Apaume was hit by a stray bullet and died instantly.

“She graduated on 2nd of November and died on 3rd of November, still like a dream to us. What a world”, her coursemate, Rita wrote.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), today sealed off two houses allegedly belonging the wanted former chairman of the Presidential Task Reform Team, Abdulrahseed Maina, in Kaduna State.

The two properties include a two-storey shopping plaza located at Number 2c Ibrahim Taiwo road and another one storey duplex at Katuru road all located in Zaria, the state capital.

A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and former Governorship aspirant in Delta State, Sunny Onuesoke has berated President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina for saying Nigerians trust his principal more than ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.

There are strong indications that some members of the Ondo State House of Assembly have perfected move to impeach the Speaker of the House , Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun.

It will be recalled that Oleyelogun emerged as the speaker of the House after some members successfully removed Jumoke Akindele over allegations of fraud and misconduct.

The house had since after the emergence of Oleyelogun cleared the former speaker, Akindele of any wrongdoing.

It was gathered that Akindele’s goons are the masterminders of the current impeachment notice.

Mukaila Musa, representing Owo constituency, confirmed the impeachment move but exonerated himself from the process.

He said, although he was fingered in the impeachment process, he described those accusing him as wicked oppositions in the assembly , stressing that he was never involved in the current impeachment process.

He said, “Though l was very instrumental to the first and second impeachment at the assembly. The first one was to checkmate the leadership of the House, while the second one was for the interest of the state and for my party not to be caged”.

He described as mere rumours, the allegations that he had signed the impeachment notice.

Musa, however, challenged those accusing him to provide evidence of his signature on the impeachment notice.

“Whoever that must have cooked me up in this mess will soon be exposed by the grace of God, l know somebody from within did it, saying am a member of Peoples Democratic Party when am not”.

But, a strong member of the PDP in the House who spoke under the condition of anonymity said the former speaker, Akindele may go to court to fight for reinstatement as Speaker, having been cleared of any wrongdoing in the Assembly.

The group loyal to the speaker are accusing the other lawmakers of planning to impeach the governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Father of former militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo, Chief Thomas Ekpemupolo, has died. Family sources say the octogenarian died on Wednesday morning September 7th at a private clinic in Warri, Delta State after a brief illness. Tompolo is currently in hiding as he has been declared wanted by the Police for his alleged involvement in fraudulent activities in the last administration.

The former militant leader had in an open letter sent to President Buhari, accused the military of brutalizing his Father during one of their operations in th Niger Delta

“That same day, the military went to Kurutie Town in search of my 84 years old father and brutalized him. We managed to rescue him to Warri and hospitalized him. Sadly, one of his lower limbs was amputated two weeks ago. From the doctor’s report, it will be a thing of miracle if he survives this incident. Is this 84 years old man also a member of the Niger Delta Avengers, that he was brutalised to the point of death?”

Four of the 24 Chibok girls who escaped from Boko Haram captivity in 2014 were among the new students accepted into the American University of Nigeria during the Convocation and Pledge ceremony on August 29th, 2016 in Yola, Adamawa State.

A statement made available to Leadership, in Abuja by the Communication Unit of the University stated that since their escape, all the 24 girls have been on the University’s scholarship studying under a special preparatory programme.

Four of them have now passed their West African School Certificate (WASC) and Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exams, with one scoring over 300 marks in the JAMB exams.

"The AUN Law program uniquely offers concentrations in Humanitarian, Gender and Environmental Laws" the statement reads. "Others who took part in the ceremony were university graduates pursuing various postgraduate programmes; among whom were18 winners of the 67 competitive AUN scholarships on offer, while several intakes were transferring from other universities in Ghana, Lebanon, Egypt, the United States and some European countries,"

According to PREMIUM TIMES, the university declined to disclose the identities of the students, as doing so would rob the girl of the anonymity they need to operate freely on campus.

The Nigerian Police Force and th Department of State Security DSS, have called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to postpone the Saturday September 10th governorship election in Edo state for security reasons. The security agencies made the call at a joint press briefing at the DSS Headquarters in Abuja today September 7th.

According to the spokesman of the police, DCP Don Awunah and his DSS counterpart, Tony Okeowo represented by Garba Abdullahi, credible intelligence available to them indicates that there may be a terror attack during next week's Sallah holidays, especially in Edo State. ‎

The police spokesperson, Don Awunah, in a statement he read during the conference said it is in the light of the intelligence gathered that they make the appeal for the postponement of the election.

“The Nigeria police and the DSS wish to inform the general public that credible intelligence availed to the agencies indicate plans by insurgent/extremist elements to attack vulnerable communities and soft targets with high population during the forthcoming Sallah celebrations between 12 and 13 September, 2016. Edo state is among the states being earmarked for these planned attacks by the extremists elements. It is in regard of this that we are appealing to INEC, which has legal duty to regulate elections in the country, to consider the need for possible postponement of the date of the election in Edo state in order to enable security agencies deal decisively with the envisaged terrorists threats. While the police/DSS remain mindful of the inconveniences this request may cause the various political stakeholders, it is our strong resolve that security agencies need not be distracted from ensuring a peaceful and secure Nigeria now and always”he said
