Sports / Pochettino Speaks On Lloris’s Red Card In Champions League by babile: 10:20am On Oct 25, 2018
Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino has said that goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris didn’t need to apologise to his teammates despite his red card costing Spurs in the final minutes against PSV in the Champions League.

Lloris came flying out of his goal and was red carded for bringing down Hirving Lozano ten minutes before the end of the game in Eindhoven.

Spurs were leading 2-1 at the time but conceded in the dying minutes as Luuk de Jong scored the equalizing goal.

The Frenchman was at fault in Spurs’ last Champions League clash against Barcelona but Pochettino revealed he didn’t apologise to his team-mates afterwards.

“No, why?” Metro UK quoted Pochettino as saying when asked if Lloris said sorry to his team-mates.

“He doesn’t need to apologise. Football is about making mistakes.

“It was an action in football that happens often and of course sometimes that happens.”

Spurs’ draw gave Inter Milan the upper hand to qualify alongside Barcelona in group B.

Pochettino’s men need to win all three of their remaining games in order to qualify. They face PSV at Wembley in their next fixture.

Crime / Nigerian Lady Who Travelled To Saudi Arabia To Work Fakes Madness To Escape by babile: 10:23am On Oct 09, 2018
A young Nigerian lady who was said to have traveled to Saudi Arabia to work as a house help, has revealed how she escaped from her employer’s home .

The lady whose family taught travelled to work in Europe, had to escape to Oman after learning of the sudden death of two Nigerian maids in Saudi Arabia.

In a recent interview with Satellite Times, she revealed that her new boss allegedly killed the last maid (pictured above), who worked for her, weeks before she arrived. On discovering what led to the death of the former maid, she then decided to escape but couldn’t because of the contract she had signed with a recruitment agency in Nigeria and Oman.

According to the contract, she was restricted from leaving the house and was to stay indoors all through.

When all plans to escape failed, she then decided to fake madness. She began by uttering unknown words, including Yoruba incantation, while covering her face with white powder and displaying to the amazement of everyone in the house, even guests.

Just after the ‘fake’ display, her new employer was forced to call the recruitment agency after two days and queried them for giving her a mad lady as a maid.

She further said, she continued the display of ‘madness’ for 3 days and wasn’t given water or food.

The new employer who couldn’t take the ‘mad’ display anymore bought a plane ticket for her ordered her driver (as seen in the picture) to take her to the airport to ensure she is deported from the country.

Nairaland / General / Former APC Lawmaker Narrates How He Survived Miraculously From Gunshot by babile: 8:00am On Sep 08, 2018
A former Federal lawmaker and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele, on Friday, returned to Ekiti State after spending 96 days seeking medical treatment in London over gunshot wound he sustained during a rally in the State.

Bamidele, who has declared intention for Senatorial seat in Ekiti Central senatorial district ahead of 2019 election, while relaying his experience yesterday asserted that medical doctors in London hospital, where he spent over 50 days told him in clear terms that he survived the bullet wounds by miracle.

The APC chieftain, who served as the Director General , Kayode Fayemi campaign council , was shot on June 1, 2018 , during a rally organized in honour of the Governor elect, Dr Kayode Fayemi, after returning to Ekiti sequel to his resignation as the Minister of Mines and Steel Development.

He was shot alongside six other party members, who were treated at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH).

Bamidele before entering Ado Ekiti capital city in a convoy of over 50 vehicles, had earlier visited Efon, Ijero, Aramoko, Igede to thank the people for their prayers during his travail.

Speaking to party supporters in the State capital, who danced and rendered several glorious songs to acknowledge God for his mysterious survival, Bamidele said: “Even the London doctors told me clearly that I got my healing through miracle.

“I want to say that it wasn’t money that saved me, but I received the grace of God. Many of the doctors that treated me in London who were not Godly became born again because of me, while those who believed in God became more dedicated.

“I was shot in the stomach and thigh, in spite of these, I escaped, I didn’t die. This was because of the prayers of my people here in Ekiti and all over Nigeria.

“It was a miracle that I survived, it was God that did it. I thought I would spend more than a year in the London hospital, but I only spent less than 50 days after which I got miraculous healing.

“I want to thank the good people of Ekiti State across party lines and religious divides, it was their prayers and love that saved me from

untimely death”, he said.
On his senatorial ambition, Bamidele said he started the journey eight years ago and that this might be the appointed time for it to become a reality.

“I started this journey eight years ago, but our party in its wisdom told me to withdraw and contested for the House of Representatives, which I won. With what I am seeing and the outpouring of love and affections from our people, I know it shall be fulfilled this time”, he added.

Bamidele was shot by a police officer attached to one of the APC chieftains during the rally, which the police had hinged on what they called ‘accidental discharge’.

He was immediately rushed to EKSUTH for emergency treatment after which he was flown abroad for intensive Medical care.

Sports / ‘juventus May Likely Win Champions League Because Of Ronaldo’- Lionel Messi by babile: 10:38am On Sep 04, 2018
Lionel Messi believes Juventus are now a “clear favourite” to win the Champions League after signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.

Messi and Ronaldo have contested one of the great sporting rivalries over the course of the last decade, competing for individual and team honours while playing for arch-rivals Barcelona and Madrid.

However, the pair will now only meet on the field again if Madrid draw Juve in European competition, following Ronaldo’s £105m move to Turin.

Messi says Real are now worse off without Ronaldo and believes the Spanish club’s loss is Juventus’ gain.

“Obviously they (Madrid) are one of the best teams in the world, they have great players and squad, but yes the departure of Cristiano from the squad makes them less strong,” Messi told Catalunya Radio.

“It makes Juventus a clear favourite to win the Champions League due to the squad they had before and now with him on top.

“I was surprised by his decision, I did not think he would go from Madrid nor that he would go to Juventus. There were so many teams and I heard less about Juve but it is a very good team.”

Former EFCC chairman, Nuhu Ribadu, has described Northern Nigeria region as the most backward region in the world. Ribadu made the description while speaking at the launch of two books titled “Sect and social disorder” and “Quaranic Schools in Northern Nigeria” in Abuja yesterday, August 15th.

The former chairman of the antigraft agency said the Almajiri system of education being practiced in the North is the worst form of dehumanization. “I am from Yola, we have similar culture with Kaduna, Kano but we don’t have Almajiri, what is happening? We are also Muslims. There are lots of areas where we have similar things. Which education are we talking about, these are some things that are incredible and you don’t know where to start. There is nothing worse, in the form of violation and abuse of rights, more than the Almajiri system, yet people are justifying it, comfortably calling themselves as products of it. I think we have to look at it crucially otherwise we will continue to go that direction that we will not be able to solve her problems.

“We are the most backward people in this world, the society of northern Nigeria. Look at all the indices in the world today, we are the worst. Why? How can we continue to deny ourselves our future? I worked on many of those crises and conflicts as a member of the investigation team and tribunal, I was in Zango Kataf, I was in Tafawa Balewa, I was in Kaduna religious crisis, I was among the prosecutors of El-Zakzaky in the 1990s. “During the Kaduna religious disturbance of 2000, we visited where they buried the victims along Birnin Gwari road, they opened the graves for us, what I saw is still haunting me. There were bodies, all of them young boys, no girls that is talking about Almajiri – boys over 100 buried in mass graves and no identity, not a single one of them had a name and they were all buried, I got interested in this. “I said let me see and get in touch with those who are responsible for it. They were victims of the crisis that took place in Kaduna because of the Sharia riots. They said they did not have their identity or Mallam responsible for them. Did anyone come to complain that they have lost a child? They said no.

I was also in interpol, I had a duty to do outside Nigeria. I flew British Airways. Few days after that and the governor who introduced Sharia to Nigeria had his kids there and they all went to the first class. It was terrible for me. I could not say anything throughout the flight. The sight of those young boys, buried, unidentified – nobody is talking about it, the families never even complained, not even their so-called mallams.” Ribadu said on his part, Matthew Kukah, archbishop of Sokoto diocese, said people in the north need to help themselves. “If we were serious Christians or Muslims we will not be having this conversation. We in the northern Nigeria, we have to help ourselves.” Kukah said

Crime / Older Woman Bathed With Acid By Her Younger Ex-lover In Anambra State by babile: 10:24am On Aug 15, 2018
A woman identified as Nkiru Okoye is currently receiving treatment in a hospital after she was allegedly attacked with acid by her ex-lover in Anambra state. It was gathered that the woman had been formerly married, but broke up with her spouse, before falling in love with the said ex-lover. According to reports, the young man in question is said to be younger than Nkiru, hence his family insisted they put an end to the relationship as their son would never marry an older woman. The lady’s family also concurred, but the young man wouldn’t give up, it was alleged.

According to Tobenna Obiano, things got so bad when the lady insisted that they must part ways to respect their families and their excuse of age. But the young man insisted that if he doesn’t end up with the lady, no one else would have her.

It was alleged that he had once attacked her. He had sneaked into Nkiru’s room at night and tried to strangle her. Neighbors rescued her but she never made any formal report either to the local vigilante or to the police. Soon after the said incident, the young man sneaked into her room again through the back door, and as Nkiru was about unlocking her door, he poured a bowl of raw acid on her, which ran down through her ear, neck region, breast to her back section. He poured a second one again on her, extending from her back down to all-over her buttocks and even towards her laps. The lady has since been transferred from a hospital in Awka to an Orthopedic hospital in Enugu state, where she’s currently being treated.

Politics / Foolhardy Henchmen Of Nigerian Politics – Chika Okpalike by babile: 9:22pm On Aug 03, 2018
Foolhardy henchmen like the Fulani herdsmen in the Nigerian political circus are brandishing their killer swords and the Nigerian citizens who have become mere spectators in the colosseum are applauding the dastardly display of one of the master gladiators. When Scipio Africanus defeated Hannibal Barca at the battle of Zama in the Second Punic war, he became the terror of Roman military might. Yet a great blow has been dealt on Scipio from which he may never recover until he died unsung. History has shown us that time returns. In the Nigerian political scene, we are witnessing those recurring decimals in fractions of history which the whole numbers of sweet power conceals.

Nigerians, like spectators in the circus game, seem unperturbed by the looming sinister of the game of blood. There is always the blood sucking demon lurking in the dark corners of the gladiators’ hearts and the powerless and unprotected spectators are the victims of that quest. For an appreciable time the citizens of this country have been victims of the blood sucking demon of the Nigerian politics, who either actively or passively indulge with Boko Haram or make belief Fulani Herdsmen to massacre innocent civilians. For as long as these killings were going on, the senators and house members have been having a field day talking without walking. The battle was far from the comfortable vicinity of their dwellings. Buhari assumed the untouchable and too-smart-to-be-checkmated stance. Whereas the truth is that the citizens, as pawns, may easily be sacrificed to save the life of the king. The political chess game may have as well gone on but since the officers have become the target of the player on the opposite side of the board, checkmating skills are brought to the game. Bukola Saraki suddenly became a smart ass! Oh, sweet life!

The drums of war were heard in Benue, none of them blinked, the moans of the dying shrilled forth from Adamawa, Taraba and Borno, no one shrank, the cries of the homeless, displaced and wiped out ensued from southern Kaduna and fell on deaf ears, the trumpet of war sounded from Plateau and no attention was paid. Now the foolhardy henchmen like their folks, the Fulani herdsmen struck the last defences and Saraki suddenly pulled the smartness of a checkmate move. No one wants to die. From our side of the stadium, the battle line is drawn. You may deceive some people some of the time, but you may not deceive all the people all the time. These are signs of what is to come. In the streets of our urban settlements they parade as harmless cattle rearers, in the nook and crannies of our villages they turn marauders with AK-47 spreading death and we call them Fulani herdsmen, in our capital city, they sit in magnificent places like the foolhardy henchmen of the Nigerian politics. They are everywhere.

For the foolhardy henchmen, Nigeria will remain a theatre of war until all are bowed down or submit to the throne of their reign. No student of history will embark on the project undertaken by the foolhardy henchmen because they already know the project died before it took off. They are who/what they are, they think what/how they think because they have no sense of history and obliterate the possibility of its being learnt.

For the masters of the chess board; the gladiators of the circus, even in the silence of your recess, let there be no retreat; no surrender. The agenda is clear and anyone who plays on the gallery is out of the game. You can conquer the army of Napoleon, the people of Moscow did. You may defeat Hannibal Barca, the greatest war strategist of all times, Scipio Africanus did. Yet you cannot bring the truth to its knees; all the time, Truth is the conqueror of all times. If these smart gladiators would be fit for the golden crown of ultimate victory, this is their chance. They have just succeeded in a manoeuvre that may bring them assured victory. The way of the truth is the only way.

It is clear Buhari has no agenda for the progress of this nation, now is the time to frustrate him out of Aso Rock. The negotiation for Nigeria; to be or not to be should already begin. Now is no time for plenty talks; like you walked the disbalance of power; so make Nigeria work for Nigerians. 1914 is not the beginning of Nigeria; it is the year of British arrangement of a colony for the gains of the imperial power. 1960 is not the year of Nigeria’s independence, it is the inauguration of the internal renegotiation of a union that may or may not endure. 1970 is not the end of a civil war that threatened the unity of Nigeria; it is the beginning of the war with the external forces that holds bound the true independence of Nigeria. 2015 is not the end of corruption in Nigeria; it is the beginning of the unveiling of the face of the monstrous enemy of the Nigerian people. These truths cannot be conquered. Partnering with them would be the way of charting the course of a Nigeria that will endure. Most importantly, these gladiators and chess players have simply succeeded in booking a rematch. They have a date with destiny and their only weapon to a resounding victory is truth.

Health / Newborn Baby Miraculously Survives After Being Dumped In A Bush For 2 Days by babile: 5:33pm On Jul 25, 2018
A newborn baby boy miraculously survived after he was dumped in a bush in South Africa for 2 days. It is believed the child was abandoned by his mother in the bush located at lower Albersville, Port Shepstone, South Africa.

According to South Africa Metro, the new baby survived the bitter cold and hunger by some stroke of luck until he was found by an officer. The baby was discovered after a resident of Albersville called security company – Lazer 911 – last night, saying they had been hearing a faint cry coming from a dense bush behind their home since Sunday night.

They initially thought it was a cat, but with time it was clear it was the cry of a baby. The newborn was completely naked and still had his umbilical cord attached when he was found. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.

Kerwin Dickens of Lazer 911 says he heard the cries as soon as he arrived at the client’s home.”I searched the property and then I heard the noise of the baby crying again. I managed to find where the baby was. The baby was lying face down, naked in a bush. We quickly rushed him to hospital,” Dickens said.

Nairaland / General / Let Us Bake The National Cake by babile: 9:15am On May 27, 2018
National cake is a common phrase every adult Nigerian may have come across one way or another. It refers to the funds accumulating from crude oil or elsewhere, however they be summed up; all monies that revert to the federal government which at its disposition it may redistribute to other levels of administration. I say this without bothering about the technicalities of that political economics. Such money usually goes to the federal government from where it is redistributed to states, local governments, ministries, parastatals, individuals and so forth. The truth is that it is public fund, which for some queer and incongruous reasons, is only accessible to a few. Those few are of the political class or those appointed by them. National cake mentality is one of the economic cancers killing the Nigerian state; it is a pathological syndrome which infected the political class from the colonial masters and administrators. However, it is clear that the major constituent part of national cake is oil money. These politicians understand oil money as gains from Nigeria’s natural resources which at the hands of government officials are free; benefits upon which government ‘guided-scrutinized’ expenditures are based. The national cake takes care of all government expenditures through sharing.

What is often referred to as corruption in Nigeria is the failure of any government official to spend such monies in ways acceptable to institutionalized public fund manipulation. Oil money takes care of everything, that no one bothers to know if there were other ways money is or could be made for governance and development in Nigeria. Oil money or free money is national cake. In other words, the Nigerian economy is a “sharing economy” (another way of saying consumer economy). National cake mentality is one of the reasons why politicians in Nigeria understand elections as a must-win affair; a win which gives them access to the national cake, a win which guarantees their being counted among the privileged few who may share of it. Every politician learns how best to reassure the electorate of his/her  fitness and readiness to wrestle from the grip of government his/her constituency’s fancied share of the national cake, never mind whether or not at the end those innocent voters had anything to call their eventual share. National cake syndrome has made the basic understanding of federal government to be the conspiracy of a privileged few against the vast majority of the populace. Particularly, the governors, senators and house members or any other public office holder are the self-styled people’s champions everywhere reminding and re-assuring them of their own share of the national cake.

National cake mentality is the reason why government in Nigeria has shut down at all levels except the federal level which is the primary custodian of the national cake itself. National cake is the reason why the average Nigerian understands government job as securing a place to be positioned for a share and not an opportunity to contribute to the growth of the nation. It is the reason why politics has become the best paying job in Nigeria.

From time to time when government promises to fight corruption but at the same time overtly and covertly sets up governance on oil money, therefore national cake, they show gross ignorance of what corruption is. National cake syndrome is the fore-runner of corruption in Nigeria; it is the reason why some are more Nigerian than others and the medium through which public fund end up in the hands of thieves and looters. National cake is the beginning of regional and ethnic politics; the cause of one of the most ridiculous and wasteful investment in human history where oil is drilled in Bayelsa and refined in Kaduna. National cake is the reason why human efforts and innovation is stifled in Nigeria and merited excellence through hard work and fair competition crushed; leaving the whole nation a bunch of beneficiaries waiting endlessly for the politician-benefactor’s return to have a good lunch. National cake is the reason why workers in Nigeria won’t work unless they are assured of their individual gains; the reason why tribal origins is superior to competence and merit. National cake is the reason why our president must come from a particular part of the country in the name of zoning; a kind of soft-landing for sectional consciousness; the reason why the government especially federal government runs as a center for benefit-sharing with the players having no bounden duty to the citizens except serving the crumbs from the table as benefits one hasn’t right to after all.

National cake is the reason why no region of Nigeria can develop on its own, no matter their natural and human potential because development is tele-guided by the Federal Government via National cake. National cake is the only way to keep Nigeria one and push back any agitation to negotiate our continued coexistence. It is clear to me that there will be no true democracy, or will there be the Nigeria set to take off until all the generation that fought the genocidal war of 1967 – 1970 die out or release their hold on Nigerian politics; they invented the National Cake mentality and have been using it to hold the illusion of the one Nigeria of their craft, but in truth this is the foundation of corruption which many in government are either ignorant of or are unable to resist the lure of taking their last bite and sleep on while Nigeria inexorably stumbles into the phase of a formidable beginning which must happen.

Until Nigeria and Nigerians get done with the illusion of the national cake, until we are cured of that disease, we are not yet ready to begin the journey to nationhood and development. Raw as the crude oil is, so raw is the money that comes from it and raw money does not account for any kind of wealth.

However, since we seem to like the cake, national cake is possible. Nevertheless, God is not going to bake it for us like he gave us Petroleum. It is the people of Nigeria, who are laden with the duty and responsibility of baking the national cake and unless they do, the idea of the national cake will remain an illusion; a deliberate mental delusion they all have decided to slump into. Fortunately each region of the country has been naturally endowed with at least one of the ingredients for the best of cakes, so let them bake the national cake.

Like it is going to be the cake after all, in baking the national cake, let the Hausa-Fulanis come to the baking with the flour, let the Yorubas hasten with the eggs, let the Igbos come along with the butter, let the Ijaws provide the sugar, let the Efiks come with the baking powder, let the Urhobos provide the milk, let the Biroms, the Tivs, Ibibios, Kanuri, Annag, Nupe, Igala, Kalabari, Manga, Badawai, Bade, Gade, Igede, Bokyi, Bjagham, Etsako, Agatu, Edo, Esan, Alago, Gbari  and all the different tribes and ethnicities of the nation provide the ingredients and services for the baking and meet with each other at the kneading table before the baking. Then and only then shall we seat together to bake the cake by our free choice. It is this cake which shall be our common bond, the beginning of our fraternal coexistence. It is only then shall we have begun to define ourselves, our politics, and our nation.

A burglar got into a celebratory mood after successfully breaking into an office building but got arrested at the end.

43-year-old  David Michael Seale was arrested on Tuesday in Fresno, California and charged with felony burglary and providing a false identity to an officer in connection with the break-in.

Authorities were alerted by an office worker at about 10.10am on Tuesday in the commercial area near Shaw Avenue and Hughes Avenue after a suspicious person was spotted leaving the building on foot.

Health / NAFDAC Lifts Shutdown Order Of Emzor, Two Others Over Codeine Syrup Scandal by babile: 12:26pm On May 13, 2018
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has lifted the shutdown order on three pharmaceutical namely Peace Standard Pharmaceutical Limited, Bioraj Pharmaceutical Limited and Emzor Pharmaceuticals Industry Limited over the codeine syrup scandal.

In a statement released yesterday by the Director General of the association, Professor Mojisola Adeyeye, the agency said the decision to lift the shutdown was reached after a meeting with top executives of the companies that were implicated in the codeine syrup distribution.

“The three companies cooperated with NAFDAC during the meeting, provided the needed documents, some of which are being verified. The shutdown of the three companies has been lifted and the normal company operations can resume. However, the companies have been given the following sanctions,” the statement read in part.

Recall that shortly after the expository report by BBC on the abuse of Codeine by Nigerian youths was aired, the agency swung into action, shutting down the operation base of these three pharmaceutical companies after some of their staff were implicated.

The affected companies were ordered to immediately stop the production of codeine syrup. It also instructed that an hold should be placed on the active pharmaceutical ingredient and the already made codeine syrups stands. Also, all codeine products are to be recalled and the process verified through audit trail verified by NAFDAC.

“An embargo has been placed on new applications for permit or renewals for the importation of codeine as an active pharmaceutical ingredient for cough preparations, i.e., NAFDAC will not issue any permit until further notice. The companies have been charged with administrative fees that are commensurate with the respective violations,” the statement read

Health / Hot Man Filmed Masturbating In Front Of A Young Woman While On A Bus (video) by babile: 3:50pm On May 12, 2018
A man was filmed exposing himself and masturbating in front of a young woman while on a bus in Leeds. But when the woman complained to the driver about it, he appeared non-chalant and simply told the woman to change seats if it bothers her so much.

Karlah Louise Daly, 22, was sitting at the front of the upper deck on the no.16 bus to Leeds City Centre on Thursday, March 10, when the man moved closer to her and started pleasuring himself. Footage shows Karlah asking the man to stop performing the sex act yet he continues to harass her.

The incident took place on the First UK no.16 bus from Armley to Leeds City Centre around 6.20pm to 6.50pm on Thursday. As the bottom deck of the bus was full, Karlah went to take a seat by the window upstairs. She had been on the bus for ten minutes when the traumatic public display of indecency happened.

She described how she told the driver about the incident but claims he simply asked her to sit somewhere else. In fact, the man was allowed to remain on the vehicle even after she left.

The 22-year-old, from Leeds, said:

I went upstairs on the bus as downstairs was very busy. I noticed a man was right at the back of the bus and I sat in the middle section on the left hand side.

I was on the bus for about ten minutes and as we approached Leeds city centre, people started leaving the bus from upstairs. It was then that I noticed that the guy had moved closer to me but I didn’t look straight away.

Celebrities / Sir Victor Uwaifo Threatens To Sue Singer Simi For 'joromi' Song Theft by babile: 11:27am On May 12, 2018
Legendary Musician, Sir Victor Uwaifo, says singer Simi, is in trouble for "stealing" his intellectual property, 'Joromi'.

Uwaifo who released the monster hit song 'Joromi' in 1969 says the song, which brought him fame and fortune, has now become a victim of intellectual property theft as Simi failed to give credit to him when she released her own version in 2017.

Uwaifo in an interview with SaharaReporters at the Annual General Meeting of Copyright Society of Nigeria COSON, held at Sheraton Hotels, Ikeja, Lagos described copyright and Intellectual property theft as a very serious issue in Nigeria, saying it must be dealt with urgently as it is reducing the creativity of the new generation of Musician.

According to him, the process of making music has now significantly changed from what it used to be in his time, as “more mediocres” are now in the game.

"Copyright is a very serious business and the contravention of copyright laws is more serious than you can imagine," the Professor of Art told to SaharaReporters. Most people still believe that someone can just pick somebody's work, which we call intellectual property right, and use it for his own benefit of the detriment of the composer, the man who actually created the work. You know it takes time to create a work; it takes a lot of research to be able to come out with a piece of work. You know one single track is equivalent to research journal and then a whole record is equivalent to a book publication, so people don’t understand it they don’t know. You don’t just wake up in the university then you just put anything down and you call it a journal or a book. It takes a lot of research to be able to do one piece of music. The composition, the lyrics, the music, the score, the arrangement, the production and booking of the studio all cost money, and someone will just come and take the work and use it as his own or probably do an advert on it.”

Uwaifo recalled how he sued Pepsi for N500million for using one of his songs in one of its adverts without following the due process. "Pepsi used my song 'Arabade,'" he said.

"I'm suing Pepsi for N500million; the case is already at the Federal High Court in Benin.” When asked if he was going to take any legal action against Simi, he replied: “One after the other. I cannot just take everybody to court at the same time. I don’t know whether he or she; I know she is but I know somebody is behind it. An LP was sent as a compliment; I'm still looking at it but they were planning to come to Benin to see me; up till now, they haven't come, so I'm just putting that one on hold. 'Joromi' is a franchise; the name never existed before. Benin don’t have “J” in their language; if any started with 'J' in Benin then it is fake.  All consonant words start with vowel sounds. For example, if I use the trademark of one of these soft drinks, it is wrong. So Simi is in trouble.”

Sports / Super Eagles’ Coach Bars Prostitutes From Camp Ahead Of Russia 2018 World Cup by babile: 4:48pm On May 08, 2018
Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, is making efforts to avoid distractions in the camp of the senior national team at the forthcoming FIFA World Cup taking place in Russia by clearly stating that ladies of easy virtues (prostitutes) or any female who has no direct link with the national team players would not be allowed near the Eagles’ camp.

Super Eagles media officer, Toyin Ibitoye, who revealed this on Monday, also added that the players were already aware of the development. “We know there are cute girls in Russia who will be all over the place to be around our players but they won’t get close because there will be strict resistance. Concentration is crucial at the World Cup and the coach is taking this seriously.”

Wives and girlfriends (WAGs) of the players who have been given approval to be with the players would also not go to the camp just anyhow and any day. “They can only come after match days when the players are relaxed. The training after match will be light and before the start of strategic work for the next game, that is the time WAGs will be allowed. They can only visit and won’t be allowed to stay with the team,” a source said.

Super eagles will compete with Croatia, Iceland and Argentina in Group D of the forthcoming World Cup. The team will play three more international friendlies before the World Cup.
