Akwamkpuruamu:
A way forward. Child not Bride, Islam should understand that. That Mohammed married an under age doesn't make it a norm and a good thing to do. Enough of VVF for young girls
You are very right.Because Mohammed did that doesn’t make it acceptable in this generation. We are more enlightened now.Let’s disengage from barbaric practice in this nation. We need to move forward please.

FamilyRe: At What Point Should A New Couple Get Worried Over Conception? by Babitee1(f): 1:39am On May 24, 2021
I am married and also a Nurse in the fertility field so I will give you a professional advice, wait for 6months before you see a gynecologist if your wife is 35 or above. But if she is younger than that you can wait for a year before going to a fertility doctor. You can visit a standard lab on your own for now and do a semen analysis, while your wife can go to a good diagnostic center close to you to do follicular tracking to that you can know her actual ovulation date. Most importantly don’t be under panic during the first one year just enjoy yourself and in no time she will miss her period.

He should travel to UK first. If all the fears listed by the parents didn’t happen to him,he can stay back there and continue his life there, but when he gets there and things doesn’t go well or as planned he can then come back here to Nigeria to get a government job.

It is not how far, but how well. To be honest, you can marry with that amount. Just get an understanding working class woman. You don't need to have millions before you marry and you should not do it under pressure either.

FamilyRe: Family Problems About Remarrying by Babitee1(f): 6:54pm On May 13, 2021
I understand it’s not easy for men to stay alone after a spouse death. But 3months is too early for her to move in she should stay in her house while you stay in yours. She can visit your home weekends only for now till whenever you are ready to take the relationship to the next stage or call it off. The both of you should take your time to date and understand each other before living together. She may want to get pregnant and trap you down with it. So try to use condom to protect yourself during this period of studying her or practice abstinence if you can till you are sure you want her in your life permanently.Pray for God’s direction most importantly too.All the best.

Kimkalash:
Hi guys, sorry it took this long.

Did not do covid test. No one checked my luggage in Lagos. Just went to the Ethiopian airlines stand, gave them enrolment letter, admission letter, arrive can receipt photocopy and I checked in my luggage. Begged the checker to put me by the window for all flights up to Newfoundland, he did and i just tipped his something. Went to have breakfast and then dashed towards the boarding gate. As expected, na only pilot no tax me. Plane left around 2. We got to Addis Ababa around 9.
Getting out of the plane, we rushed to the boarding gate to get set for Dublin. Plane left around 11 and we got to Dublin about 8 hrs later I think. This was so so long. There was quite a delay at Dublin I think because of logistics but from Dublin to Toronto it took us about 7 hrs. The journey was long for me as my max before now used to be around 5 hrs.

We got to Toronto, waited for about 30 minutes in the plane, went straight to border services, filled a few forms, showed our arrive can, boarding pass and passport and then we were directed towards immigration. The guy just came to us, asked us for passport, tuition receipt/enrolment verification, declaration form and admission letter. 10 minutes later, he called me, gave me back my documents and issued my study permit and gave me a paper to direct me on how to get my social insurance number, then that was all.

Checked in my luggage going to Newfoundland. It was still past 11 and my flight was for 9:30 pm so i just followed my Nigerian friends going to Vancouver to their boarding gate, gisted and saw them off at past 2. Then it was only me. This was draining. I then began to tour the airport and met a South Sudanese woman with whom I discussed the state of our countries and neo-colonialism. She's a Canadian citizen so she enlightened me a whole lot and when she realized i didnt have cash cause I was complaining on phone that i was hungry, she gave me 20 U.S dollars but the mumu me went to Italian to buy ham, bacon and coke. I forcefully finished it o.

Went to my boarding gate 2 hrs prior and saw a white guy. Moved closer to him and started a conversation. He was speaking fast so my accent also had to change. We discussed Trump, liberalism, Canada's plan towards development and economic expansion, American and Chinese trade wars and the beauty of data analytics in Insurance. A few minutes to board, we parted and he got to the plane first as per him seat be like first class.

I later got on the plane but when the plane paced around the runway, i think it began to have issues so the captain said we'd return to the gate and do a system refresh on the plane. It delayed for two hours. I sha know say after like five minutes wey plane move up, i don sleep. Before I know, e don remain 8 minutes to land. Landing was thrilling cause the journey from Lagos was long. I got to the NFL border, took my luggage, approached the border official, submitted my passport, travel declaration form and my GT atm card for indentification. She spoke her English and then freed me. I met my greeter and he put me in the cab but failed to tell the porter i was coming cause he was attending to two others.

The cabman dropped me and I knocked and knocked but nobody came through. I was just on a shirt. I languished in the cold, shouted for help but no one came through. I saw a car pass by and slowly approached the car and an Asian lady listened to me, asked me to wait and she called her supervisor. I ran across the road for like five minutes to limit the effect of the cold and then she drove towards me and gave me a number to call but that was when the other two guys came and the porter came around. I went in, called the greeter, fuckling blast him and he apologized. I was then shown my room and I checked in for isolation. I am in quarantine.
A mix of experiences you see?

RomanceRe: What Are The Spiritual Effects Of Sleeping With A Married Man Knowingly ? by Babitee1(f): 11:42pm On Dec 15, 2019
Pray to God for forgiveness and he will trust me.And for you new or subsequent relationship that information about the short affair you had with a married man is not necessary because the guy too is not a saint and won’t tell you all the wrong things he did in the past.Talk about productive conversation in your new relationship and not dirty secrets.A natural man is judgmental and selfish and will use all those bad past to insult you one day ,it is only a man that d spirit of God has worked on him that will understand what happened and help you heal and forgive yourself, but unfortunately we hardly find such men these days even in the church most of the guys are not as intimate with God as they should be, and for the fear that it will happen to you in d future ;No it won’t,your husband will not cheat on you because You once cheated with a married man ,he won’t cheat because he respects you and d marriage and has chosen not to cheat .There are so many women who married as virgins and their husband is cheating on a regular basis ,so don’t bother your head about men ,just pray you find the one that respects and will decide not to cheat on you because he respects the union.Stay blessed sis
FamilyRe: Finally, I Have Decided To Leave Him by Babitee1(f): 11:27pm On Dec 15, 2019
Yes leave that toxic atmosphere and focus on work and your kids. Its going to be difficult but it will be worth it later .Plenty guys will come your way and want to get close to you out of the pity they have for you because of how bad your husband treated you ,appreciate the advice and the financial assistance they want to give you but stand your ground on no sex with them because you are in a process of fixing your life and you don’t need any sexual relationship to distract you.Continue to pray and God will open doors for you and it will be like a dream come true ,As for your husband he will learn in a very hard way when you are away and he will come back begging because so many things will go wrong in his life and it will seem like you are the oxygen that will give him life again, just watch and see what God will do.

Ohibenemma:
Many years ago, the afro beat crooner, the late Fela Anikulapo Kuti sang about the emerging “modern” African lady. In the lyrics, he stated that : “she wan siddon for table before anybody…she wan take piece of meat before anybody…” and so on. Today, many years after, we see this at play in our society. It has been on for long, but its proponents are closer home than ever. They call themselves FEMINISTS.

I have listened to the arguments by Feminists over the years and have reached the simple conclusion that it is a very flawed subject. I have asked myself many times, and will ask again: what exactly do feminists want?

A Christian, I will draw my creation story from that handed down to us in the Holy Bible, which tells of how the man was first created, and the woman created FROM him to be a help meet for him. Now, this in no way prescribes a particular pattern of inordinate overlordship, but it does clearly state a hierarchy. This fact is alluded to in other chapters of the Bible, opening up the debate of who is actually superior between the male and female genders. I will attempt to answer that question. None. What was created was a partnership, not a feudalist set-up. However, it was a partnership with a hierarchy. Well, that’s not the focus of this write-up.

I have listened to and read speeches by modern day feminists, including our very own award winning writer, Chimamanda Adichie, and laughed. Not because I despise them or what they stand for, but because their claims are filled with operational contradictions. They claim to desire an equal standing by women with men, but operationally desire maintenance of the status quo. But isn’t it laughable that women would want an equality that can hardly be sustained by their biological set-ups? What about those hormonal factors that men don’t experience? What happens to the physical protuberances and monthly visits? I have observed these and laughed even more.

But, aside the mirth, I have observed that against their claims, the feminists do not even desire an equal standing with men; what they actually want is for the men with which they are equal to accord them special privileges because they are women. What segregation could be greater than this? They want the man to do some of the cooking at home, yet they want him to open the car door for them. They want some reservations made for them in government, reservations they will enjoy not because of their abilities, but because they are women! They want to get into male dominated jobs, not because they are physically suited to such, but because they want some representation to hype their ego! I think these people are actually chauvinists in disguise.

I was reading a commentary on the just concluded American elections, and the writer was trying so hard to decry Donald Trump’s victory on the basis of an opportunity lost to the American people to show that they were progressively minded. Since when did progressiveness have to do with some compulsion in favouring particular candidates on account of their sex rather than ability? That hardly sounds progressive to me. Sacrificing competence on the altar of gender, I think, it is actually a schism of sorts – and mediocre!

I remember back then, as a student of political sociology, we learnt that Hobbes’ contention for the formation of government was because, without and prior to it, man was brutish, lawless and life was short. Isn’t this the Almighty’s reason for the different characteristics and responsibilities assigned the two genders? Women, have been known in the course of history (in their place BESIDE THE MAN), to control world leaders even from the comfort of their bedrooms; they have caused men to act in highly benevolent ways just as well as they’ve inspired outrightly irrational reactions. Paupers have been made kings and kings have been brought to their knees, amongst others. Now, stimulated by feminist inspired gender strife, the females have gone into competition with the males, yet when they are decisively trumped, they cry discrimination and play the victim. On one hand, they want to be provided an equal playing ground, yet when they come short, they decry the males for being chauvinistic. Aren’t there areas where the females have a comparative advantage? Would feminists not view advising them to focus on those areas as gender discriminationhuh I know they would.

In our studies of industrial relations, it was contended that one of the veritable ways to achieve specialization was by division of labour; would our modern societies not be helped to function better if each is allowed to develop along the lines of comparative strength? That way, macho ladies can be drafted to the frontlines while sissies (men) can be assigned kitchen duties. Under such arrangement, it wouldn’t be a bother to have a gender percentage of 96/4%, depending on the task, and none would cry discrimination. Also, undue contention would be eliminated and the sexes would function in harmonious symbiosis.

Feminists should know this fact; males and females aren’t created equal; they are rather set up to complement one another. A G-Wagon may be so expensive, but that doesn’t make the bulldozer less of a vehicle in its own right; they are created for different purposes. Only a fool would, however, guide his G-Wagon to go on head-on with a bulldozer. The story would likely be told by others. Let the sexes be; their outcomes were by design and not accident. Be the best IN YOUR PLACE!
