My mum is 69 years and holds a uk visit visa. she came to the UK to visit me and fell ill so she was seen by the GP and the GP prescribed a medication for her. She went to the pharmacy to collect the medication but the pharmacist refused to accept her medication payment because she’s 69 years old so she’s automatically exempted from payment for her medication. I informed them that she’s on a visit visa but they refused saying that I should ask around and if I still want to pay, I can come later and pay.

Please what should I do?
Is she truly exempted from payment because she’s above 60 years?
I don’t want it to be that she’s using public fund and I don’t want anything that will affect her visa application in the future.
Please I need your suggestions. Thank you so much.

Write unemployed please if she was a trader wrote retired is she has Pensions and other benefits coming into her accounts. If she does please just write unemployed. My mum got denied the first time for this same reason. Read earlier messages.
She doesn’t have any pension, she depends on myself and siblings for her upkeep. Though I send her money monthly.

My worry is that the ECO might refuse her because of her unemployment status since she doesn’t have any job to bring her back home.

Hi everyone, please i need your help regarding this question. I am about to invite my mum to the Uk to come and visit me but I don’t know how to package this application because
1) my mum was self employed but because of health conditions. She stopped working years ago and now depend on her children for her monthly up keep. I often send money to her monthly as well.

So should I write retired or unemployed?
If I write that she is unemployed, will it affect the outcome of her application?

Also, she owns a shop but it’s not CAC registered, so should I include pictures of the shop in her application as home ties.

[quote author=Zahra29 post=135631422]Yes, from 3 years 15 hours childcare is universal i.e not classified as public funds or based on requirements such as income or settlement status.

Thanks for your response.

My child is 2 years and 2 months, which means she can’t access the 15 hours till she’s 3 years right?
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by babranancy: 8:25am On Jun 05, 2025
So the 15 hours is free and not public fund?
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by babranancy: 7:04pm On Jun 04, 2025
The 15 hours free child care sponsored by the government, is it public fund?

I want to apply for my 2 year old but I am still on skilled worker visa and don’t know if it’s public fund because I am not entitled to public fund till I get my ILR.

Please I need your help regarding this question. Thanks

I applied for Nigerian passport from uk for my 10 months old baby but the appointment date is in March with is abit long for me plus the time I have to wait after capturing which I believe will be too long as well. Anyone here with contact over there that will help me with the process? I hope to get an early appointment, preferably this month and get the passport next month with little or no fee, I’d be glad. Thanks
