Igbere TV reports that gunmen have kidnapped two expatriates and a Nigerian employee of Triacta Construction Company in Galadima Kogo village of Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

Niger police commissioner, Adamu Usman, said on Tuesday that the gunmen wearing military uniform came to the village on about 20 motorcycles and attacked workers of the construction firm.

Mr Usman said the incident occurred on Monday along Shiroro-Galadima road.

“The victims were seized by the gunmen who came through Kaduna State on motorcycles, ambushed them along the road they were constructing and took them to the bush.

“They overpowered the policemen on duty and abducted the victims on motorcycles to the bush,” he said.

The police commissioner added that the Command had launched a manhunt to rescue the hostages.

He, however, did not disclose the nationalities and names of the foreigners.

“We have since deployed IGP Intelligence Response Team and Special Technical Squad as well as Armed Anti-Kidnapping Squad to identified areas with a view to rescuing the victims unhurt,” he said.

“We have also reached out to the Commissioner of Police of Kaduna State. We are doing everything humanly possible to rescue the victims unhurt.”

1. Abdulkarim Dauda.


He is Buhari’s Personal Chief Security Officer (PCSO). Like Mamman Daura, he is Buhari’s nephew. His father, Dauda Daura, is Buhari's half-brother from the same father.

He is de facto president Mamman Daura’s full biological brother. I exposed a recent secret memo Buhari sent to the Nigeria Police (where Abdulkarim is officially employed as Commissioner of Police after 3 unnaturally rapid promotions in three years) instructing it to circumvent time-honored public service rules & extend his service till 2023 even though he should've retired this year on account of being in d police for 35 yrs.

2. Sabiu “Tunde” Yusuf.


He's Buhari’s Private Secretary. Don’t be deceived by the “Tunde” in his name. It’s just a nickname, probably inspired by Tunde Idiagbon, Buhari’s deputy when he was a military dictator.

Sabiu is the son of Mamman Daura’s full biological sister by the name of Hajia Halima (more popularly known as “Hajja Madam” in Daura) who died last year.

As you should know by now, Mamman Daura’s sister is Buhari’s niece since their father (Dauda Daura) is Buhari’s much older half-brother.

Sabiu, who is in his 30s, is one of the most powerful people in Nigeria today. He determines who sees and who doesn’t see Buhari.

Only Mamman Daura and Abba Kyari can overrule him. By several accounts, he is now a billionaire, although he had no formal work experience before Buhari became president. He used to sell recharge cards in Daura until 2015!

3. Dauda “Zeze” Habu.

He's Senior Personal Assistant to Abba Kyari, the de facto acting president/VP. His father, Habu Kurma, is Mamman Daura's younger brother. (Kurma is the Hausa word for deaf. He’s called Kurma because he’s deaf, but this isn’t derogatory in Hausa culture where people are habitually identified by their disability).

4. Musa Haro.


He is PA (Domestic Affairs) to Buhari. His mother, Hajia Kwalla, is Buhari’s biological sister. Hajia Kwalla is a twin. Her twin sister is called Hajia Amadodo. My friends from Daura told me last week that Musa “ just bribed the Emir of Daura to be conferred with the traditional title of Dan Madamin Daura.”

He's Special Adviser to the President on Infrastructure. He isn’t Buhari’s biological relative, but he is his relative by marriage and informal adoption.

Ahmed’s mother is Mrs. Amina Zakari, the controversial INEC commissioner who, along with compromised INEC chairman Mahmood Yakubu, helped Buhari to rig the 2019 election.

Buhari’s older sister was married to Amina Zakari’s father, the late Alhaji Hussaini Adamu. Apart from being Buhari’s in-law, the late Hussaini Adamu also raised Buhari for some time after Buhari’s father died, so he was, in a sense, Buhari’s adoptive father.

6. The House of Representatives member representing the Daura/Sandamu/MaiAdua Federal constituency by the name of Fatihu Muhammad is the son of Buhari’s older brother by the name of Muhammadu "Mamman" Danbafale.

Justice D. Z. Senchi of Federal Capital Territory High Court, Jabi, Abuja on Friday, October 25, 2019, ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to serve the criminal charges of alleged abuse of office and money laundering in respect of the granting of the Oil Prospecting License (OPL) 245 to Shell and ENI, brought against a former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke and others, by substituted means.

He lifted the arrest warrant earlier issued against the defendants and ruled that it would be reissued after the prosecution has served them by substituted means due to their unavailability.

The Commission had on April 17, 2019, obtained a warrant of arrest against Adoke, a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Dan Etete, and four others over the OPL 245 scandal.

The #EFCC filed criminal charges against the defendants, but having all fled the country, it has been difficult for the Commission to serve them the charges or produce them in court.
The situation forced the EFCC to apply for a warrant of arrest against them, which was granted by the court,empowering the Nigeria Police Force and Interpol arrest them, anywhere they are seen.

Again, it has been difficult to execute the warrant as the defendants remained in hiding in foreign locations, leaving the court to contend with endless adjournments in the matter.
With the development, the defendants through their counsel went to court, asking that the warrant be set aside, based on the fact that the EFCC has so far not served them any charges. .

Justice Senchi obliged them, saying the application was meritorious. The trial judge stated that the EFCC ought to have served the charges to the defendants before applying for the arrest warrant that was granted to it. .

The judge further ruled that the arrest warrant would be reissued against the defendants if they refused to show up in court after they have been served and upon a new application by the EFCC.

Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, has accused The presidential candidate of Young Progressive Party (YPP), in the 2019 Presidential election, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, of dumping his party to take up an appointment from Buhari’s led administration.

The human rights activist made the accusation at 2019 Felabration; a segment of the annual festival in honour of the iconic Legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, held at the NECA HOUSE, Lagos.

Moghalu, also called for reform of the country’s electoral system ahead of the 2023 general elections.

It was gathered that Moghalu, a former deputy governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), who was at the event left before Falana had a chance to speak.

President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier approved the appointment of George Moghalu, the National Auditor of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), as the new Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).

Reacting to the accusation, Moghalu, took to his official Twitter account to deny the claims, saying it was not fair to be crucified on the basis of mistaken identity or coincidence of names.

Jonathan: When you make a president god, don’t expect him to leave

Former President Goodluck Jonathan says sit-tight rulers are enabled by people who praise and worship them as gods.

Jonathan said this on Thursday at the constitutional term limits summit, which is being covered by TheCable, in Naimey, Niger Republic.

He also said some presidents hold on to power for fear of persecution and over uncertainty of what life after office would be like.

“Let’s create an environment where people will believe there’s life after office. That if you leave office you should not be persecuted,” he said.

“The way we manage ourselves as sitting presidents and former presidents matter. The first line is to reduce what will make a sitting president afraid to leave office.

“Africans sometimes, we are our own problem because we always think our presidents are little gods. That somebody is president does not mean he is God. We have a tradition of praise-singing. We tend to give our presidents name they don’t deserve.

“We tend to over-praise sitting presidents and make them think they are little gods. When they begin to make a sitting president think he is God, and he is the only person that can run the affairs of the nation; then the person will be there; nobody removes God.

“When you make a president feel he is god, don’t expect him to leave. The media and civil society must continue to admonish characters that make presidents think they are the best thing to happen.

“That you are president does not mean you are better than others. We citizens of this continent create little gods, and God cannot leave (power).”

Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, has met the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed.

The duo met on Tuesday at the ongoing UN General Assembly in New York, United States.

Mohammed is a former minister of environment.

Mrs Tallen, an ally of First Lady Aisha Buhari, announced her meeting with Mohammed in a tweet.

She said their discussion was centred on promoting the well-being of Nigerian Women.

“Earlier today I met with Dr Amina J Mohammed the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations. Our discussions were centered on promoting the well-being of Nigerian Women,” Tallen said.

The families of over 300 victims of Boeing 737 Max plane crashes will receive $50 million in financial assistance, the company said on Monday.

Nigerian writer, Professor Pius Adesanmi, was part of 157 persons on board an ill-fated Ethiopian Airlines flight ET302 on March 10, 2019.

The Boeing Financial Assistance Fund set aside for the victims’ relatives is half of a $100 million pledge “to address family and community needs of those affected by the tragedies,” announced in July.

Boeing said the other half of the fund will support education and economic empowerment in impacted communities.

The money works out to $144,500 to the families of each of the 346 victims of the Lion Air Flight 610 and Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302, which crashed just months apart, according to Reuters.

The company had in July hired attorney Kenneth Feinberg and his colleague, Camille Biros, to come up with a formula to determine how the money is allocated among the grieving families.

The company’s CEO Dennis Muilenburg said the opening of the fund “is an important step in our efforts to help affected families.”

“The recent 737 MAX tragedies weigh heavily on all of us at Boeing, and we continue to extend our deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones of all those on board,” Muilenburg said in a statement.

Victims’ relatives have reacted with disgust at Boeing’s proposition.

Bob Clifford, who represents dozens of families affected by the March 2019 Ethiopian Airlines crash, told CNN Business earlier in September that the compensation offer from Boeing was “disingenuous” and “vague.”

He said in a July statement that half of the fund for relief was a problem.

Mr Clifford added that if Boeing “wanted to give real relief to the families, they should work with the insurance partners of Ethiopian Airlines to expedite payments to the families.”

Governor of Osun state, Alh. Gboyega Oyetola, has congratulated the president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari on his victory at the presidential election tribunal.

The Osun state governor tweeted the congratulatory message on his tweeter account, praying that Almighty God that started the journey shall complete the journey with him.

But the baffling aspect of it is that the decision is not yet taken in court. Buhari has not been declared as the winner. The tribunal was presently on a short break which the chief judge said is to enable the panel to refresh when the governor sent the congratulatory message.

House of Commons Speaker, John Bercow, has said he would stand down at the next election or on 31 October, whichever comes first.

Mr Bercow announced this on Monday in parliament.

He said his 10-year “tenure” was nearing its end and it had been the “greatest honour and privilege” to serve.

The speaker said that if there were no early election, leaving on 31 October would be the “least disruptive and most democratic” exit.

Bercow, a former member of the Conservative Party, succeeded the late Michael Martin as Speaker in 2009.

His decision to step down comes as the latest in the Brexit storm which has consumed several UK leaders.

Bercow has come under fierce criticism from Brexiteers who have questioned his impartiality as Prime Minister Boris Johnson looks to suspend the parliament until October 14.

A hunter was wounded in the firefight that ensued between the Nigerian soldiers in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force, Local Vigilantes, Hunters and Boko Haram terrorists.

Following credible information from the locals about the presence of terrorists at Gworege village in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State, troops of 22 Brigade/Super Camp Dikwa in conjunction with the Civilian Joint Task Force, Local Vigilantes and Hunters conducted a successful raid and clearance operations to Gworege community to clear the village of the crouching terrorists reportedly hibernating in the area, Leakers.ng reports.
