Hoodlums on Thursday dispersed Nigerian youths protesting against police brutality

Carrying guns, cutlasses, the thugs were seen in a video obtained by Featured24 running after some of the #EndSARS protesters who gathered at Alausa, Lagos State.

Nigerians on Twitter have taken to the popular micro-blogging platform to accuse Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo and one Baba Alado of sending his 'boys' to disrupt the protest.

The leader of the Nigerian Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Lagos chapter, was accused of being contracted by the government to use thugs to disperse the protesting youths.

@BiodunPen wrote; "I knew they will 'contract' MC Oluomo and his boys to disrupt the protest in Lagos.

“Sadly, these thugs dont know that the #EndSARS movement is also about them.”

A user, @Babatunday wrote; Let's take note of the serial number of the bus (240171) that conveyed thugs to disrupt the #AlausaProtest. The owner will shalaye later.”

Another user, MercoyAkinpelu wrote; “MC Oluomo won't survive one week if the youths decide to go against him. NURTW will be discarded like dirty water.”

As at the time of filing this report, it was not immediately clear if there any casualties from the attack.

Featured24 reports that the incident comes barely 24 hours after armed thugs were seen attacking protesters in Abuja.

It was gathered that about five vehicles were also damaged in the fracas which happened at Berger roundabout.

Nigerians protesting against police brutality on Wednesday apprehended armed thugs that launched attack on them in Abuja.

According to report, the hoodlums who carried cutlasses, inflicted injuries on some of the #EndSARS protesters who gathered at Berger roundabout. The number of casualties was not immediately clear.

Featured24 gathered that about five vehicles were also damaged in the fracas.

The protesters, however, regrouped within minutes and started chasing the thugs away and also apprehending some.

The apprehended hoodlums were severely beaten and taken to hospital for treatment.

The protesters also vow to interrogate the apprehended hoodlums and make them confess those who sent them.

The 34-year-old said in an Instagram post: “So I’ve been saving to get myself an Suv for a while, but as you all know ‘problem no dey finish’ especially ‘family problem’.

In a nearly two-minute video posted on Twitter, Mr Macaroni can be seen speaking on behalf of protesters, re-emphasising the stance of the protesters that they want SARS scrapped and not reformed.

Born Jude Abaga, MI via his Twitter page said, “Unfortunately I’m still not feeling well enough to be outside but I stand with @falzthebahdguy and @iRuntown.”

The 59-year-old ‘Beware Medley’ singer shared a picture of the Oniru and herself on her Instagram page saying, “A courtesy visit to the new Oniru. Oba Gbolahan Lawal.”

“With all the uncertainties of life, I am glad I was able to make the best decision ever!” she wrote.

Okiki, on his part, wrote: “Wow its 2yrs already! Happy anniversary to us Agbekemi! I love you.”

Reacting to the comment of the follower, Precious wrote; “@matress89 take note, it ended, it did not collapse.”

“The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit of the Police was set up to confront violent crimes such as armed robbery, kidnapping and other related crimes.

A woman identified as Amadi A. M. has reportedly bagged a master’s degree after a study on the former federal lawmaker Dino Melaye, Igbere TV reports.

The ex-Kogi senator claimed in a social media post on Friday that the woman came out best in Linguistics from University Putra in Malaysia.

“Amadi, A. M did her MA degree on Dino Melaye’s conversations. She graduated the best in linguistics at Putra University, Malaysia,” he wrote.

Igbere TV reports that Melaye did not provide further details of the study.

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has indicated plans to include castration of rapists in the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Law.

The governor said on Thursday that he would include the clause in the law which he recently signed and send it back to the state assembly for amendment.

Igbere TV reports that Mohammed made the statement while hosting the Minister of Women Affairs and Child Development Paulen Tallen at the Government House, Bauchi.

“It will be done to suite our tradition and our societal expectations, because this bill came from there. We have already discussed with the chairperson of the National Council of Women Societies and my wife,” he said.

“…Honestly, I think we better destroy the instrument of rape by going for castration because even when I pardon somebody, I discovered that he was a serial rapist.”

Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai recently signed a bill to include castration and removal of fallopian tubes for rape convicts.

On the issue of Child Rights Act, Mohammed said there are some provisions that are against some traditional perception especially the issue of early marriage.

He, however, said that his administration will soon set up an executive committee to discuss issues of child and early marriage.

Former Big Brother Naija season five housemate, Kiddwaya has moved steps ahead of other former housemates as he's featured in new Eko Hotels & Suites campaign advert, Igbere TV reports.

The popular hotel, which hardly do adverts as it is already widely known shared the video on Thursday.

Igbere TV reports that from the 40th seconds of the one minute advert, the billionaire son is seen approaching the reception with a face mask with the receptionist welcoming him with "It's been a long time sir”. She then proceed to give him hand sanitizer.

After sanitising him hand, Kiddwaya then said" In fact, too long.”
