First, this is the wrong place to find out or obtain information about a spouse. This is an online forum filled with strangers and kids. Coming here to obtain information about someone you have been living with for 8 years is ridiculous.

Second, the timing of her investigation. She did not conduct her investigation at the beginning of the marriage or prior before marriage, but waited till a month to fill for his papers. Is this not a reflection of a terrible insecure person! Also, it’s clearly ridiculous that this woman did not bother to know the husband. Her fears would have been alleviated if she had taken out time to learn more about her husband’s people - technically, her own people. Because in African culture and customs, when a woman marries, she is now part of the husband’s people. Had she traveled to Nigeria to know more about her husband, all the numerous burials would be properly accounted for because she would get to put a face to the names of the people she had been hearing about.

I said she is ridiculous not because I want to tongue lash her, but clearly from all indications. She wasn’t interested in knowing her husband’s people, custom and culture. I believe this happens to a lot of us and it's the devils tactics. My advice is to do this

1. Have a list of praise and worship songs to sing first. Do this first before you go into prayer and this should help get you ready to pray. Sometimes if you are not experienced in listing songs or songs just dont come from the top of your head, play music and sing along.

2. Have a list of prayer points. We don't know how we should pray generally. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. So a strategy here is to list out what you need to speak to God about.

3. Dont always pray the same way. Sometimes, we dwell on asking God. You can dwell on thanksgiving, if you think of it, say thank you Lord for XYZ. Even a concern can be offered up as a prayer of thanksgiving

4. Talking to God doesn't have to be in a restricted format. He has called us friend, sons and daughters. So how does a friend, son or daughter speak to God? Have a discussion. E.g father today I was not very happy because xyz or father I couldn't believe this blessing came this way. Etc. Be relaxed. Just remember who you are speaking with.

5. Sometimes just saying, God help me, can help. He sees your heart and knows you are trying. Prayer is a two way affair, God wants to speak too. Just stay in siren atmosphere void of distraction. No tv, nobody moving, no music. Just speak and then listen.

This is something we all face from time to time. I believe you identifying this issue has put you on the part of overcoming this phase. I pray God helps you in Jesus name.
