Dear OP,
These are both good offers. But you should be very careful when it comes to a point, like this, where you are caught up in such cross-road; especially when you could factually predict your prospects on what you presently have at the moment: you can not afford to jump out of the ship when you are almost hitting the treasure island to join another voyage heading for another treasure island, but which you can't fully tell what awaits you when you get there. I have made such a mistake before, and i paid - still paying - for it. Sometimes, the devil you know is better than the angel you don't know. I wouldn't want to be too conclusive here, so i'll advise you to seek more and more advice before you finally decide which to go for. I wish the best.

thank you 4 d advice.

Politics / My Dad Is Being Illegally Detained By Governor Akpabio - LIB Reader Cries Out by babymi2(f): 4:33pm On Apr 13, 2015
An avid LIB reader is reaching for the public's help, says her 72yr old dad is being illegally detained since yesterday in Akwa-Ibom by the state governor. She tells the full story of what happened below

My dad, Maj. Gen. E. Akpan (rtd) had gone out to vote in his polling unit, when he got back he met a mammoth crowd in his compound. The Corpers who were amongst the crowd explained to him that they had nowhere else to run to with the ballot materials and that Godswill Akpabio's thugs were on a rampage hijacking ballot boxes in all the local governments and carting them away to Akpabio in Government house, so they needed to run away with the ones in their possession for safe keeping and that they felt my father's compound was the safest place to bring them too till the thugs go away.

On hearing this my dad started making frantic efforts to reach Inec Head office in Uyo to alert them on what's happening in his village in Nsit Atai! However before contact could be established ‎SSS, police and the army stormed my father's compound and demanded to have access into the property! The youths immediately wanted to launch a protest but my dad hastily halted them saying he doesn't want further disruptions to the electoral process. He asked his soldiers who are detailed to him to open up the gate and allow them in. So SSS drove into the compound in their armored vehicles while shooting their machine guns into the air!

My father had to appeal to them to calm down. At this point the SSS officials told my dad that he has been invited to their office for questioning, my dad's soldiers immediately intervened saying they will not allow the General to be taken anywhere and that their job is to protect him! An argument ensued between my dad's soldiers and the SSS before my dad cut in and said he will graciously go with them for questioning. They told my dad it will only take a couple of hours, my dad's soldiers insisted on going with them and they agreed for two of them to come along. After a few hours of questioning Governor Akpabio ordered for my dad's soldiers to be sent back to base which is the barracks! His aide too was sent away.

My dad was now all alone with no communication with the outside world for hours. They kept turning my family away saying we can't see him. At about 9pm the family was now given access to my dad, he was weak and shaking and could barely utter a word! He was in a very bad shape and we were scared for his health, we begged and they agreed for a medical personnel to come and see him, as suspected his blood pressure was through the roof and he had to be given medication to arrest the situation before it got worse.

He was put in a dingy, dark and dirty cell room with a tattered, flimsy and disgusting mattress on the bare floor!

We were there till 12midnight and all they could tell us was that Governor Akpabio insist he's held there indefinitely! This is day 2 and my 74 year old pensioner father has not eaten or received proper medical attention! He has given his statement and is still being held without cause! The holding facility is in a deplorable condition and we are concerned that this will worsen his health! My father is innocent of what he's being accused of. Our dictator governor is well known for silencing and quenching anything that comes in the way of his atrocities!

He cannot stand a right standing citizen like my father because it makes him look bad which he is! They can continue with their "investigations" but Akpabio should please release my father from that dungeon! If my father dies in that cell just like all the others he has killed over the years this particular blood will take away peace from his life till he pays for it! For his own good let him do the needful! #releaseGeneralAkpan

Politics / OAU Students Stone Jonathan, Ekiti Obas, And Governor Fayose; & Chased Them Out by babymi2(f): 7:25pm On Mar 22, 2015
BREAKING NEWS: OAU Students stone Jonathan, Ekiti Obas, and Governor Fayose; & chased them out of lle-Ife!

In what seems a wild reaction to the polity ailed with hopelessness and frustration, the students of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Friday took their anger to the Oduduw a Hall of the university where they unleashed a dose of despondency on President Goodluck Jonathan.

A group calling themselves Concerned Yoruba Leaders, within PDP in the South West, had planned a one-day conference to drum support for President Jonathan's second term. Venue was the Oduduwa Hall.

As the President arrived for the programme, the students, who had planned very well to unleash their anger against Jonathan, had laid siege to the premises of the hall. As he alighted from his vehicle, hail of stones greeted the President.

The authorities of the school calmed down the restive students temporarily to "cool their temper" until Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State arrived the campus followed by two 52-seater Ashok Leyland school buses loaded with Ekiti Obas.

Fayose was so confident that the students would receive him with open hands. But as he arrived the campus with a horde of his boys in another bus shouting "oshoko oshoko", the enraged students of Ife in large numbers rushed towards his entourage and dealt a vicious assault on them.

He was lucky to run for his life, as his security aides shielded and ferried him to the hall. But the Obas, some of whom had already disembarked from the buses, were not so lucky, as the students descended on them. lnstantly, one of the buses made a detour and immediately took some of the Obas out of Ile-Ife, but Oba Adamo Babalola of Itaji Ekiti and Alara of Aramoko Ekiti were not lucky, as the vehicle with which they came drove off in a high speed, leaving the duo behind.

One of the Obas quickly removed his beads and gave his horse tail to his security guard to disguise his identity, and Dipo Anisulowo came to the rescue of one of the Obas, as he helped to carry his crown inside a nylon bag back to Ekiti State. Eventually, one of the stranded Obas was later seen in the town by the road side trying to catch Ado Ekiti-bound bus.

However, the students that had earlier mellowed down, regrouped and waited for the President for Part 2 of anti-Jonathan drama. Within minutes, the students had taken over the long stretch of road leading to the town from their campus., and the programme was abruptly brought to a close as Jonathan and his handlers hurried into waiting helicopters that ferried Jonathan, Fayose and other leaders and supporters out of the campus amid shouts of "ole ole ole"

OAU Ile-Ife students today displayed what they are noted for: to humiliate corrupt and inept leaders who are making life uncomfortable for them and who care less about what future holds for young Nigerians.

Great Ife !!!

Politics / Open Letter To Mr President Gej by babymi2(f): 10:31pm On Feb 15, 2015
Dear Mr President,

First, please pardon me Your Excellency for writing you at this tense political moment in our country history, a time when you have serious political campaigning to do.Obviously this is not the best time to write this kind of letters but I feel compelled to write after the postponement of the general elections and the backlash that followed.
Wherever I have travelled, be it in Africa or overseas, the first question people asked as soon as I have introduced myself as a Nigerian is, “How is corruption in Nigeria?”This is a question that always confuses me regarding what the various questioners really want to know about the country. It is also a question that often steals the limelight from me, as people seemingly want to know more about the level of corruption and insecurity in the country, rather than the huge potentials in country.
In 2010, we watched you do your thing as leader of our republic, and as has been the reality over the past 5 years of your rule, there were as many people singing your praises as there were those excoriating you for all that is not right with our beloved country.Mr. President, we have been listening to speech after speech from you where you invariably promise us a better life, better leadership, corruption-busting, jobs, a better economy, freedom, justice and a “new” Nigeria where young people can aspire and prosper.
Indeed, our hopes as Nigerians are that we would finally get to have a feel of the good life during your government, and not endure the pain and indignity of watching our relatives, friends and acquaintances living in other countries doing well and showing off to us.Among other things we hoped for,Mr. President, during your historic election in 2011 were: fixing the potholes on our roads, constant electricity supply your promised would be achieved within a few years, among others.
But you failed to meet our aspiration and the pain of the populace has become unbearable, making your departure through the ballot box almost a certainty. But you should leave honourably instead of trying to buy time by postponing the election. The postponement will do you no favour, surely. If the army could not defeat the insurgents in six years, then only a fool would believe 6 weeksextensionwill be the answer. Even the world super powers have not defeat any kind of rebellion in six weeks.
Mr President, we all remember how you promised to create job opportunities for Nigerians, but what you rather did was sending our beloved graduates to their early graves. The immigration recruitment tragedy is something that I will never forget in my life, and the families of the departed souls can’t wait to avenge their loss through the ballot box come March 28th.Mr. President you may want to know that many of my colleagues who graduated same year you were elected president are still unemployed up till today, and they have also failed to secure loans to start their own businesses. Their percentage on the total numbers of eligible voters may be small, but they have resolved to ensure it makes the needed difference come March 28th.
Rightly or wrongly, many people see you as the catalyst behind their success or failure, and I understand it could be difficult carrying the burden of having to make the wishes of over 170 million people come true.I do not have much to ask, but that you keep your promise of handing over come May 29, 2015 if you lose the election. Our desire is to try something new, something different from the PDP. And no amount of bribery can stop it; we need to save the future of our children and that of the unborn generation.
It is the hope of many Nigerians that the men and women you chose to help you run the country in Cabinet will deliver as expected of them, and not spend so much time gossiping about each other and politicking mindlessly. All eyes are again on you this year, as they have been for the past 5 years, hoping that we finally say goodbye to your government that has brought us so many agonizing and painful experiences; we have had enough of impunity, fake promises, insecurity, and unemployment that has become the trademark of your administration.
Finally, I’m also patiently looking forward to you handing over to General Muhammadu Buhari come May 29 and offering an unreserved apology for failing a nation of over 170 million people

Most respectfully,
Comrade Ahmed Omeiza Lukman

God Bless Nigeria.

Mr president's administrative incapability is manifesting in different ways and other countries are taking advantage of it.
We reported ebola epidemics in guinea in Nigeria daily, by the Time it got to sirrealone we reported it here, when it traveled to Liberia we also broadcast it in Nigeria. With all this warning the virus sounded to our ear that it is coming we turned a blind sport to it . We still allowed some body in to our country were the epidemic is ravaging without screening him. This is an indication that Mr sawyer and his collaborators knows that Nigeria as at now has no leader and they capitalized on our weak govt which can never be tried in other countries . With this, Nigeria has shown to the whole world that CURE IS BETTER THAN PREVENTION . God have mercy on us in this country

this woman is not a politician. She is a first lady mind you...if the Late Yar'adua wife could run Nigeria whilst her husband was on a life support machine.... she's not well educated. Who will pay much attention to her grammar? Nigeria politics is servitude, patriotism to party loyalists.
This is the weakness in our Nigeria politics where ordinary house wife is accorded too much recognition by virtues of been the President wife.
This cannot happen in the Western world.

N500bn SURE-P fund missing – Senate

NOVEMBER 6, 2013 BY SUNDAY ABORISADE 62 COMMENTS

The Senate on Tuesday said the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation had not accounted for the N32 removed as subsidy on each litre of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) sold from January 2012 to September 2013.

It lamented that officials of the NNPC failed to honour its invitation to give account of how they managed the accrued fund.

Members of the Senate ad hoc committee on the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme raised the alarm after NNPC and the Central Bank of Nigeria officials failed to honour an appointment with them on Tuesday.

A member of the committee, Senator Kabiru Marafa, said the committee had observed that over N800bn ought to have accrued for the SURE-P projects between January 2012 and September 2013.

According to him, the accrued fund will be over N800bn based on N32 that is removed from each of the 25 billion litres of fuel sold in 21 months.

He said the figure was contained in a letter dated October 9, 2013 from the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources to the committee. The letter, he said, was signed by the ministry’s Director of Finance and Accounts, Mr. Salmanu Faskari.

Marafa said, “The committee had earlier written the NNPC to ascertain the quantity of fuel sold from when the subsidy programme started till date. NNPC gave us the quantity sold from January 2012 and September 2013, covering 21 months.

“If you add everything together, it will amount to about 25 billion litres and if you multiply 25 billion litres by N32, you get about N800bn. What SURE-P coordinators told us when they appeared before us was that they had so far collected about N300bn since the subsidy removal regime started.

“The SURE-P team led by Mr. Christopher Kolade said they were receiving N15bn flat rate every month. If you multiply 21 months by N15bn, it will be about N350bn. What we are even asking is what happened to the over N500bn difference. That is what we ask the NNPC to come and tell us.

“We were also disappointed that the CBN was not here because they are the custodian of the fund. They should come and account for how they came about the N15bn they were remitting every month when it was not the same quantity of fuel they were selling every month.

“The figure cannot be a flat rate. Based on the figure which the ministry supplied, in January this year, the nation consumed about 1.3 billion litres of petrol but it had dropped to 770, 695, 645 in September 2013.”

Chairman of the Senate ad hoc committee on SURE-P, Senator Abdul Ningi, threatened to use all legitimate means to bring the affected officials before the committee.

Politics / My Name Is Omotola Jalade-ekeinde And I Say No To Phedophilia by babymi2(f): 9:25am On Jul 22, 2013
After sending out a couple of tweets about corruption and healthcare last month, the movie star who was in Bayelsa yesterday for the 2013 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria finale, spoke on the senate bill endorsing child marriage in Nigeria.

The actress who was among the panel of judges for the beauty competition, was presented with a Silverbird Unique Personality Award.

Just before receiving the award, Omotola who wore a black-and-white striped maxi dress delivered an emotional speech on the trending topic of child marriage.

Read the transcript of the speech.

Let me first and foremost thank The Lord almighty, my saviour and help for this award.

Thanks also to Silverbird group the organizers of MBGN

Thanks to my wonderful husband, Capt Matthew Ekeinde, my support and best friend whose also here tonight. I am Today one of the Most influential person/people in the world because I wasn’t given off to marriage before the age of 18.

It scares and totally shocks me that the Senate in Nigeria (the most populous Black nation in the world and Giant of Africa) would not be passing in a law ensuring that every child should compulsorily be enrolled in school.

A very alarming number of children today are on the streets hawking or have been abused, raped or are married to men/women who should be protecting them.

Who protects the children of Nigeria?

Would we wait for another Milala before we act?

Should we now remove the parental caution on movies that say “Not for persons below 18″.

This is a call for justice and equity for children especially the Nigerian Girl child, who has the right to quality education, a childhood and the decision of whom and when to marry.

My Name is Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and I say No to phedophilia and No to the senate Bill endorsing Child marriage in Nigeria.
