Politics / Ajimobi’s Burial: APC Lies Must Stop, Family Responsible For The Late Burial by babyvoice1990(m): 9:55pm On Jun 27, 2020

The Oyo State Government has strongly denied insinuations that it is responsible for the delay in burying the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, who died on Thursday.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, indicated that the insinuations amounted to a wicked lie.

The statement read: “In view of the intense enquiries from news media organisations regarding the perceived delay in burying the late former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the Oyo State Government wishes to place on record that there is no truth in the rumour making the rounds that the burial is being delayed by the state government.

“The rumour, which is being deliberately spread to give the state government a bad name and to play undue politics with the dead, initially came by the way of social media gossip, which gained traction to attract the attention of traditional media outfits.

“Several media outfits reached out to the Media Office of the Governor of Oyo State to make enquiries on this barefaced lie on Saturday.

“Let it be stated clearly that the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has played no role at all in causing any delay whatsoever regarding the burial of his immediate predecessor, Senator Ajimobi.

“The truth of the matter is that the family, through a proxy, approached the state government and sought approval to bury the late governor on a plot of land at Agodi GRA, which is currently under litigation.

“Incidentally, it was the same former Governor Ajimobi who instituted the legal action.
“Governor Seyi Makinde had no choice than to state the facts as they are to the emissaries and turn down the request.

“Governor Makinde, however, against the established land use rule in Oyo State, gave approval that the family can bury the late governor in his Oluyole Estate residence.

“It is to be noted that the rules guiding land use in Government Reservation Areas (GRA) forbid the burial of bodies in such locations as Oluyole Estate and Agodi GRA.

“Let us also put on record that whereas the family did not follow the laid down protocols in passing information on the sickness and eventual demise of Senator Ajimobi, Governor Makinde overlooked all that and directed the full cooperation of the government with the family on this matter.

“It can only amount to a wicked lie to insinuate that the incumbent government in Oyo State attempted to obstruct the burial of the immediate past governor.”

Politics / Oyo Govt Set To Return 1,800 Bags Of Infected Rice Received From FG by babyvoice1990(m): 4:07pm On Apr 24, 2020

Oyo state government is set to return the 1,800 bags of rice it received from the federal government.

The rice donated by the federal government through Nigerian Customs Service were all infected and unhealthy for human consumption.

Executive Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde, Dr. Debo Akande who confirmed this to newsmen on Friday at the secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan said the committees set up to re-examine the rice have warned that it is not consumable.

While revealing that the rice will be rejected, Dr. Akande added that the rejection will not delay the distribution of palliatives to the vulnerable in the state.

He said the state has received a large number of items that will be distributed in the next couple of days.

You will recall that Mrs. Helen Ngozi, the Area Controller, Oyo and Osun Customs command, had on Monday, 20th of April, 2020, delivered 1,800 bags of rice to the Oyo state government on behalf of the Nigeria Customs Service with the claim that all the 1,800 bags of rice were good for consumption, saying the customs would never mix expired rice with good ones.

Politics / Governor Makinde Meets Police IG Over Oyo LG Crisis, Amotekun by babyvoice1990(m): 4:51pm On Jan 29, 2020

As local government crisis lingers on, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on Wednesday met with the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, in Abuja.
The Governor, who spoke to newsmen at the premises of the Force Headquarters, stated that he had briefed the IGP on the security situation in the state.

A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, noted that Governor Makinde declared that his administration “does not want chaos in Oyo State.”

He added that he would obey the judgment of the court once the pending appeals on the local government dissolution in the state are decided.

The Governor, who stated that as a law-abiding individual, he was ready to work with others to build a new country where the rule of law is supreme, urged everyone to be law-abiding and to ensure that they don’t do anything that would create lawlessness.

According to the Governor, he was in Abuja to meet Abubakar to discuss the issue of local government dissolution crisis in Oyo State and the Western Nigerian Security Network, codenamed Amotekun.

Governor Makinde maintained that the security network was work in progress and that the South-West governors were already operationalizing it, adding that the governors would further meet with the IG to review the situation on the intervention.

The Governor said: “We are here basically to discuss two things. You all must have heard about the issue of local government administration in Oyo State. “There is a court order yesterday restraining the IG, the CP, the AIG from giving unilateral order regarding the issue of local government administration in Oyo State.

“I came to brief the Inspector General that this is the situation. We do not want chaos in Oyo State. I personally, am law-abiding; if there is a court judgement, I would obey it and he has given me the assurance that once he gets the copy of the court order, he would do the needful.

“Secondly, everybody is aware of the issue with Amotekun; we deliberated on it and we had an agreement in principle to have the governors of the South-West meet with him to review the situation. Amotekun is work in progress, we are trying to operationalise it and in doing that, all the relevant stakeholders would have to align.

“We are trying to build a new country where the rule of law is supreme, so everybody should be law-abiding, ensure that they don’t do anything that would create lawlessness.”

Politics / Breaking: Court Restrains Sacked Oyo Lg Chairmen, Agf, Igp From Forceful Takeove by babyvoice1990(m): 5:09pm On Jan 28, 2020

An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan, the State capital, on Tuesday restrained the 68 sacked council chairmen and chairmen of Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) from the forceful and illegal takeover of the council offices across the state.

The Court, presided over by Honourable Justice Moshud A.A. Abass, granted the four reliefs sought by the lead counsel to the Oyo State Government, Dr. Akin Onigbinde, SAN, including an order of interim injunction restraining the sacked chairmen from forcefully taking over the Local Government Councils or taking steps capable of causing breach of peace in the State.

The orders of interim injunction, which were granted by the Oyo State High Court followed an ex-parte motion filed by the State Government in Suit No: I/78/2020.

Also restrained were the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN; Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar; Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, Mr. Shina Olukolu, and the Oyo State APC chairman, Mr. Akin Oke.

The parties and their agents were restrained from taking any step that could tamper with the pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice.

According to the Court, the sacked chairmen, as well as the four other defendants, their officers, agents, privies or otherwise, were restrained from taking steps that would cause a breach of peace by embarking on self-help to give effect to a letter dated 14th January 2020 with reference number HAGF/OYO/2020/VOL.I/1 issued by the Attorney General of the Federation to the sacked chairmen and the Inspector General of Police pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.

Politics / LG Crisis: We Won’t Allow Breakdown Of Law And Order – Makinde by babyvoice1990(m): 8:08am On Jan 27, 2020

The Oyo State Government, said on Sunday, that it would not allow any group of persons to throw the state into crisis as a result of the ongoing debate on the management of local governments in the state.

The State also insisted in a statement that it was insisting on the full observance of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) in relation to the ongoing controversy surrounding the dissolution of the 68 illegal local council chairmen in the State.

The State warned some individuals who have been threatening to derail the peace of the State to desist from such ruinous path or face the full wrath of the law.

The Government, in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, maintained that the Government’s position became imperative following the threats of violence by the sacked illegal chairmen and the stay-at-home order issued to all local government workers in the State by the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE).

The statement maintained that though Government would not begrudge the NULGE for directing its members to stay away from work in response to persistent threats emanating from the sacked chairmen of local councils and LCDA, it urged all workers in the state to reject any act of brigandage by persons or groups seeking to derail the peace and progressive governance in the State.

The statement read: “The attention of the Government of Oyo State has been drawn to a sit-at-home order announced by the State Chapter of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE).

“The Government understands that the sit-at-home order was a response to persistent threats emanating from the sacked chairmen of local councils and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).

“Whereas the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde will not begrudge NULGE for seeking to preserve its members from a perceived Armageddon as promised by the sacked council chairmen, the Government would like to put it on record that it will continue to stand by the dictates of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended.

“As earlier stated in a position by the State’s Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Professor Oyelowo Oyewo, issues concerning the tussle over local government administration in Oyo State are before the Court of Appeal and that the two cases are scheduled for hearing on February 19, 2020.

“Any lover of peace, progress and democracy would have no problems waiting to hear from the Court on the day stated.

“We, however, urge all workers in the state to reject any act of brigandage by any persons or groups who are merely seeking to derail the peace and progressive governance that have been the lot of the State since May 29, 2019.

“We call on the workers and the teeming people of Oyo State to please ignore the threat of violence and brigandage from the sacked chairmen and rest assured that the train of unmatched groundbreaking good governance in Oyo State started by His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, cannot be stopped.

Politics / Fire Incidents: Oyo To Buy 10 Fire-fighting Trucks by babyvoice1990(m): 8:11pm On Jan 05, 2020

The Government of Oyo State said on Sunday that it was set to acquire 10 modern fire-fighting equipment through a competitive bidding process.

The State’s Commissioner for Infrastructure, Transportation and Public Works, Professor Raphael Afonja, who made the disclosure while undertaking an on-the-spot assessment of the fire-ravaged Akesan Market, (Oja Akesan) in Oyo town, said that the process that would lead to the acquisition of the equipment would start on Monday (today).

This position is coming on the heels of fire incidents that led to loss of lives and destruction of goods and properties worth multi-million Naira in Ibadan and Oyo, with the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, expressing sympathy to all victims of the incident.
Earlier in a post on his Facebook and Twitter handles, Governor Makinde sympathised with the victims of the Akesan Market and promised to get to the roots of the incident.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Makinde, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, quoted the Governor and the Commissioner for Works as speaking on the unfortunate fire incident that ravaged Akesan market in Oyo Town in the early hours of Sunday.

The Commissioner for Works, who visited the scene of the incident with the Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Kehinde Ayoola and the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Health, spoke at the Akesan Market and the Palace of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III.

He stated that the Government of Engineer Makinde inherited a Fire Service Department with weakened capacity as a result of obsolete equipment.

According to him, the incumbent Government in Oyo State had flagged off a process of rehabilitating the serviceable fire-fighting trucks so as to provide immediate service to the people.
He also stated that the process of rehabilitating the inherited trucks was still ongoing when the outbreak of fire incidents occurred repeatedly.
The Commissioner said: “The last time fire-fighting equipment was procured in the state was in 2006. The present government has, however, kick-started the rehabilitation of the few serviceable fire-fighting trucks. The one that was vandalised in Oyo was just repaired the day before when it developed gear problems after returning from an assignment.

“Last month we engaged a company that will help us refurbish and salvage some of our existing trucks including the one that was vandalized in Oyo.

“We are also publishing by tomorrow (Monday) the tender request that will allow companies to bid for and supply the State with 10 modern fire-fighting trucks through an open and competitive process.”

In a post on his social media handles, Governor Makinde had commiserated with the victims of the fire incident, assuring them of his Government’s determination to end such disasters.

The Governor wrote: “I received with shock, the news of the fire outbreak at Oja Akesan in Oyo Town, in the early hours of this morning (Sunday morning). Words cannot convey my deep sadness at this incident and I sympathise with the victims. I appeal for calm as we investigate the circumstances around the unfortunate incident.”

Politics / Oyo Govt Launches, Distributes 100 Security Vehicles by babyvoice1990(m): 8:53pm On Nov 19, 2019
…welfare of security officers ‘ll be top priority-Makinde

The Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Tuesday, launched the 100 security patrol vehicles his government earlier purchased to enhance security operations in the State.

Governor Makinde, who equally launched the State’s Security Code 615, declared that the welfare of security officials would be the top priority of his administration.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, quoted the Governor as making the declaration at a brief event to mark the distribution of the 100 Kia Rio units to security agencies in the state.

According to the Governor, with the launch of the sophisticated gadgets and communication tools in the vehicles, criminals would have no place to hide in the state.

The statement further added that the government of Oyo State was bent on keeping the State safe, so as to ensure that those who come to do business in the state can sleep with two eyes closed.

The Governor described the launching of the vehicles as a milestone in the State, adding that the welfare of security officers will be given top priority.

The Governor maintained that criminal elements in the State were in for a tough time, because the security agencies now have Oyo State covered in terms of communication equipment and other gadgets.

He equally tasked security officers to be ready and up to the task to combat crimes in the State.

He said: “This administration is resting on four pillars and one of the pillars is security. We want people to come into Oyo State and feel secure. We want them to come in here, sleep with their two eyes closed.

“In furtherance of our administration’s vision for a safe Oyo State, we are here to launch these security patrol vehicles. The men are ready. They are no-nonsense officers and men. So, criminals are now in for it in Oyo State, if they ever try to come in here, I believe we are up to the task.

“I thank our service commanders for their cooperation for contributing the officers and men that will carry out this task to secure Oyo State for us. We have Oyo State covered in terms of communication, which is a new one. It means that no matter where in Oyo State, we will get criminals. I can’t wait to see officers chase criminals down the streets with the siren blaring because they now have everything that is required of them to do their job.

“I can assure the officers that their welfare will be the top priority for us. So, on this note, we will give the vehicles out and start looking at how the criminal elements will ‘pick race’ from Oyo State.”

Earlier, the Special Adviser on Security to the Governor and Executive Secretary, Oyo State Security Trust Fund (OYSSTF), Commissioner of Police Fatai Owoseni (rtd), maintained that security patrol vehicles being launched had been equipped with state-of-the-art security equipment.

He added that Governor Makinde had also approved the upgrade of communication equipment of the police to be able to reach the hinterlands of the State.

Owoseni said: “One of the cardinal pillars of Governor Makinde’s administration is security and, in furtherance, it is your commitment that the security operation of Oyo State will be improved. Consequently, when you marked your 100 days in office, 100 motor vehicles were procured, among other things, to bridge the security infrastructure gap of the security agencies in Oyo State. In addition to that, some security equipment were procured, because, without the equipment, the vehicles won’t be useful.

“Also, the Governor has kindly approved that communication gadgets should be installed in those vehicles including the upgrading of the communication infrastructure of the Nigerian Police in the State to enable us to reach as far as Saki and our border areas, which the State did not have before. We are here today, Your Excellency, with all the enablement you have provided, including the light-up project that the State has kick-started, which also has an impact on security.

“The vehicles are ready for the operatives who will man them to be deployed to identify key areas in the whole of Oyo State.”

Politics / How Ajimobi Approved N11billion For Bush Clearing For 32km Circular Road by babyvoice1990(m): 10:33am On Nov 04, 2019

The government of Oyo state approved a bill of N11billion by a contractor for clearing of the bush on the pathway of a 32km circular road, the total cost of which appears equally scandalous.

The contract with ENL Consortium for the road was signed in 2017 during the administration of Abiola Ajimobi and the N67billion cost has upset the incumbent Governor Seyi Makinde, who believes it is grossly inflated.

The governor in a fit of anger about the snail-speed work on the road, initially issued a stop-work order, but has rescinded the decision and asked the contractor to deliver the road as scheduled in 2020.

The new order was made even after the governor found that the contractor claimed N5billion as the cost of four or five culverts, an average of N1 billion per culvert.

The road itself will cost an average of N2billion per kilometre, according to PMNewsNigeria.

Makinde believed the entire road contract was a rip off on the Oyo treasury and that the job was overestimated by N53billion.

When he visited the road project last week, Makinde initially ordered a stop work order, after he found that the contractor has only done 5.5 % of the job, after two years.

He changed his mind after a review meeting held between officials of the state government and the ENL Consortium.

Taiwo Adisa, the governor’s spokesman said the road is being done on Build, Operate And Transfer Basis.

Adisa’s statement further read: “The Ibadan Circular Project is a 32-kilometre road contract awarded by the immediate past administration under a Build Operate and Transfer concessionaire arrangement at the cost of N67 billion.

“However, discoveries by the incumbent administration in Oyo State have confirmed that besides the extremely slow pace of work on the contract which meant that only 5.5 percent of work had been done in two and a half years, sections of the cost quoted may be apparently unjustifiable.

“For instance, documents at the disposal of Oyo State Government indicate that the ENL Consortium originally quoted N14 billion as the contract sum, whereas the former government went ahead to sign the contract at N67 billion.

“Again, the sum of 11 billion is being quoted for clearance of the bush on the 32-kilometre stretch of the road, while the same consortium is claiming to have spent the sum of N5 billion on some four or five culverts.

Politics / Ibadan Circular Road:makinde Rescinds Stop-work Order by babyvoice1990(m): 7:50pm On Nov 02, 2019

The Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has rescinded a stop-work order he earlier issued on the Ibadan Circular Road project.

The Governor, in issuing the fresh order, said that the decision came after a review meeting held between officials of the state government and the ENL Consortium.

He has, therefore, given a May 2020 deadline to the company to deliver the project in line with the original three-year contract.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Makinde, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, quoted the Governor as saying that despite the fact that the first instinct would have been to revoke the contract based on the inexplicable slow pace of work and a number of identifiable irregularities, he would want the company to deliver the contract in line with the original contract they signed in 2017.

The statement cautioned political interests who are jumping into the fray of arguments on the 32-kilometre road contract to desist from playing to the gallery just in an attempt to get counted as ‘opposition voices.’

“Opposition in a democracy is meant to be constructive and reasonable and not a set of characters that defend underhand dealings and shady activities.

“A number of issues don’t look straight on the Ibadan Circular Road Project, ranging from the cost of the contract to the capacity of the consortium and eventual value for money realities.

“It is preposterous for any political party or group to jump at such a critical issue without being abreast of the facts of the matter and by merely trying to play to the card of unbridled opposition.

“Governor Seyi Makinde has, therefore, given the ENL Consortium, the go-ahead to complete the project by May 2020 as specified in the contractual agreement it signed with Oyo State Government,” the statement read.

The decision to rescind the stop work order came on the heels of a follow-up meeting at the State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan shortly after the Governor conducted an inspection tour of the project.

The statement further read: “The Ibadan Circular Project is a 32-kilometre road contract awarded by the immediate past administration under a Build Operate and Transfer concessionaire arrangement at the cost of N67 billion.

“Again, the sum of 11 billion is being quoted for clearance of the bush on the 32-kilometre stretch of the road, while the same consortium is claiming to have spent the sum of N5 billion on some four or five culverts

“Governor Makinde considers the project to be very strategic to the economic expansion agenda of his Government, and therefore ordered that since the consortium now claims to now have the required funding, they could as well deliver the project by May 2020, in line with the contract they signed in 2017.

“The decision to allow the consortium run out its contract through was informed by the need not to plunge the State into needless legal battles and thereby cause encumbrances that can hinder the development of the State.

“The State government is ready to hold ENL Consortium to its words and the dictates of the contractual agreement on the road. It is expected that the Consortium would put in place all things necessary to ensure it delivers on the terms of the all-important contract.”

Education / LAUTECH: Help Us Beg Osun State To Pay Our Salary – NASU Begs Nigerians by babyvoice1990(m): 5:18pm On Oct 02, 2019
The Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) branch, has given reasons for preventing movement into the institution’s premises in the early hours of Wednesday.

The Nigeria News Agency reports that the union had, on Wednesday morning, locked all the institution’s gates, thus preventing students, lecturers and other members of staff from gaining access.

Speaking in a telephone interview within Iseyin, the institution’s NASU Chairman, Mr Joel Oyewande, said the action was provoked by non-payment of two months’ salary, promotion arrears and leave bonus, among others.

“We have several reasons to go on strike, but we just staged a protest today. Although we have allowed some people to enter the university premises, the gate will still be locked until they pay us our two months’ salary.

“The students have been allowed to write their examinations because we don’t want them to suffer unduly; but, this is just a protest for now; it may take a new dimension if they don’t pay us now.

“We urge all well-meaning Nigerians to help appeal to Osun State government to pay our two months’ salary. The arrangement is that Oyo will pay from January to June and Osun from July to December.

“Oyo state has always fulfilled its own obligations but Osun will always come up with excuses. This is not fair; we too have families and dependants to cater for,” he said.

Politics / Governor Makinde Orders Return Of N28million Education Levies Extorted From Pare by babyvoice1990(m): 6:28pm On Sep 10, 2019

The Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has ordered the refund of 28million naira levies said to have been extorted from indigent pupils and students in the state by the immediate past administration back to their parents and guardians.

The governor stated this through the state Commissioner for Education, Professor Daud Sangodoyin, this Tuesday, while briefing newsmen at the end of 2nd executive council meeting. He revealed that plans are already underway to ensure that all parents and guardians get back the N3,000 naira refund which was imposed by the last administration.

He added that the distribution of the customized exercise books prepared for the pupils and students in government own citadel of learning would commence on Monday, September 16, 2019.

He, however, noted that any teacher who sacrifices his/her time in the newly established coaching hours for the senior secondary school students in government own schools would be entitled to the honorarium.

Also speaking to the press, was the state commissioner for information and natural resources, Hon. Kehinde Ayoola who stated that the 26 thousand hectares of prime forest resources illegally acquired by some individuals of the immediate past government of Oyo state be revoked.

Ayoola said the decision became necessary to prevent ecological disasters already predicted by the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA). Saying, it is ungodly for anyone to reduce the size of the forest and acquire it for his or her personal use.

He further said, the 26thousand hectares of land in the hands of some individuals almost caused the state to lose a whooping sum of grant wanted to be given to it by the United Nations to expand its forestry reserve. And to protect the interest of Oyo residents, it is paramount to put a stop to some individuals who are interested in looting the common patrimony of the state.

Politics / Why Ajimobi Must Forfeit Medical Center To Oyo Government by babyvoice1990(m): 1:57pm On Sep 09, 2019
The edifice housing this foundation is located very close to and in fact shares common borders with Adeoyo State Hospital.

The first thing that strikes you is the intendment of the sponsors of the foundation. The Foundation is actually expected to take advantage of the inadequacies of the State Hospital, from where it gets referrals.

The sad thing is that the very sponsor of the foundation, taking advantage of the poor state of the Adeoyo State Hospital, for personal gains, is the very man whose responsibility it was as governor, to ensure a functional hospital for the people of Oyo State.

Some have said the Foundation belongs to Ajimobi’s wife, who is not a medical doctor. But, in Nigeria, that excuse is understandable under the circumstance.

In other words, Ajimobi was elected as governor by the people and entrusted the duty of developing the State including the provision of affordable health care delivery services. It will be unconscionable and indeed reprehensible if that trust was abused as the instant case portends.

For the eight years Ajimobi misruled Oyo State, Oyo State hospitals were in a sorry state and sight. In Adeoyo Hospital, for instance, health care delivery was a mirage. Going to the hospital for medical care was tantamount to committing suicide.

The hospital, under Ajimobi’s watch, became a shadow of its former self, being even less than a mere dispensing centre.

To make up for the loss of State Hospitals, Ajimobi and/or his wife established “Ajimobi BASIC Medical Care Foundation”; the failure of Adeoyo State Hospital became their gain, while they held sway as governor and First Lady.

The Adeoyo State Hospital was so pitiable that it was rumoured that Doctors and other paramedics of the State Hospital resorted to farming to survive. Patients too had to bring their beddings and candles to provide illumination. But, AJIMOBI BASIC MEDICAL CARE Foundation was bustling; business was good!

The questions begging for answers are:

1. How could a governor earning N650,000 per month build such edifices and equipped with state of the art equipment, while still serving as governor?
2. If it was built by the Ajimobi and/or his wife, who is not a medical doctor, where did the funding come from?
3. Is it permissible under extant laws for a governor and/or his wife to engage in such a business venture while still serving?
4. Does it not amount to an abuse of privilege for the governor and/or his wife, while serving and not earning any outside income, to establish such a business venture?
5. By establishing Ajimobi Basic Medical Care Foundation either by himself or by proxy, has Ajimobi not thereby allowed his personal interest to influence his official conduct and/or decisions in contravention of his oath of office?
It is common knowledge that Ajimobi’s election in 2011 in his bid for Agodi was sponsored by well-wishers. Indeed a friend of mine, Late Captain Bolaji, contributed a million naira to his campaign fund. If his salary was N650,000 per month, where did the funding for Ajimobi Basic Medical Care Foundation come from? The answer may not be far fetched, thanks to his goons in their effort to discredit the new governor.

I read a post by some of these goons of N4.6b that was appropriated by the Ajimobi led administration for the purchase of equipment for Oyo State Hospitals in 2017, just about the time Ajimobi Basic Medical Care Foundation was established. Isn’t it rather suspicious the Foundation’s birth coincided with the release of this fund by the Ajimobi led administration?

If Obasanjo’s library was, according to him, funded by his friends after he left office, I think it is only appropriate that AJIMOBI BASIC MEDICAL CARE FOUNDATION, which was established while Ajimobi was still governor of Oyo State, requires some explanation too!

The EFCC and/ICPC MUST as a matter of priority take inventory of the N4.6b hospital equipment supposedly purchased by Ajimobi’s administration in 2017, to ensure that the people have not been shortchanged.

Where it is found that the money meant for the upgrading of State Hospitals was misappropriated, the carpetbagger must be made to pay by forfeiting Ajimobi Basic Medical Care Foundation to the Oyo State Government.
