LORDKing001:
Equate equivalent of mayor to any political office holder abeg. Who b mayor? Is he higher than a state governor?

While it is true that Mayor is equivalent to a Local Government Chairman in Nigeria, the
New York Mayor is more powerful and influential than most US elected officials except just a few like the President, VP, Speaker , some Ministers.

He is more powerful than the vast majority of the 50 Governors.

Simply because of what city he is Mayor of.

If the Mayor endorses any candidate during the primaries of his party, that candidate is likely going to win.

Now if it is the Mayor of a city like Gem Lake near Wisconsin, that one is not even qualified to meet the Special Assistant to the Chairman of Lagos Island Local Government grin

Skits are gradually relegating and erasing our home video and movie industries worldwide....

Maybe Nigeria or Africa. Not the rest of the world.

Movies still making $100million in 2 weeks. Some $1 billion in 4 weeks.

Almost all making millions in a week.

Skits make money too, but not even close to a movie or TV production.

The law of input and output is natural, can't be broken.

Alhaji Dangote. Alhaji Mai Sugar.
The Greatest Nigerian alive. You have done more for the positive image of Nigeria than all the President's and Governors of Nigeria combined.

They said it's because of government partiality you are doing well, then you went beyond the shores of Nigeria to Ethopia, to Mali and did marvelously well there too.

Thank you for all you do. Thank you for employing so many Nigerians and paying them well.

Thank you for making us proud.

You never took a government contract, never got an oil drilling license .

You sold ordinary cement, old school business. Then you sold spaghetti.

When others were doing my family and I business, you took your business to the stock market, opened it up to public scrutiny and hammered becoming the richest black man alive and making billions for ordinary share holders. And some mentally lazy people are suprised you Made more billions by going to the stock market.

We have never seen you flaunt a Rolex, a mansion, a rolls royce.

You placed your business in places you were not born you hired people from all tribes.

You are blessing to this country

Happy Birthday sir.

I understand you very well, but the truth is that this man and his family have been doing well since day 1 in Osun state, starting from the first executive governor of Osun state who was the elder brother to Ademola Adeleke (Isiaka Adeleke).
When some bad and cruel governors are hiding palliatives during Covid-19, Adeleke's family as ordinary citizens after robbing their son mandate is giving away free relief materials where Mr Tinubu and his brother Oyetola can't share ordinary water with the citizens but to denied and hide the palliative.
Can you now see the difference?

I understand you and the difference in what you have said is definitely there.

We believe in his mandate.
If you meet 10 people in Osun and asked them about him, trust me 8 out of 10 will say positive things about him.
He won't dare to perform woefully because he knew what ended the previous administration.
That's what we do in Osun state, If you do nonsense, you will be voted out.
We wish him outstanding success.
Let him dance and perform well, dancing is better than looting afterall.

I don't doubt that people love him or support him. Millions supported other leaders in the past too in different states.
The problem is Nigerians have set the bar so low; what we call performance is sad to be honest.
With all the potential of Nigeria, we are stuck as a 3rd world country. People celebrate boreholes in 2023. Emergency numbers and real ambulances don't exist despite trillions spent by the FG and many State Governments.
They build so called world class hospitals and schools, yet they go overseas with their families for school and medical treatment. And the people continue to hail them.

Point of correction, dancing or being a happy person doesn't hinder one from performing his responsibility as a politician even though those that appear to us with serious faces are doing the worse privately.
Meanwhile, the governor has performed well in his first 100 days in office and promises to do better in the remaining days of his tenure.
One of his achievements is finding a solution to the water problem by sinking a borehole in each of 332 wards in Osun state and many of the projects he had embarked on.
So, if you see osun people shining their 32 cos of their governor, remember you're able to see their 32 because of the light(imole) he brought to his people.

Time will tell.

No wonder you chase Jonathan away and now you're enjoying Apc and Bubu government.

Oga try to appreciate if a person is trying his best, we in Osun didn't complain, we love him like that.
Thanks

Nigerians are very easy to amuse and please and the politicians know exactly what button to press.
People have gotten so used to the countries problems, they now accept them as normal.
Not one of the Governorship candidates in any State including Lagos, made any effort to say how they will make pipe borne water for all homes a reality. Imagine in the year 2023, people still digging borehole and buy water from Mallams. Let's not even discuss those in the rural areas going to fetch water at the river. Over 2000 years after a city like Rome had pipe borne water to its homes.
Not one of the Presidential candidates explained how they will eradicate bandits and kidnappers and defeat Boko Haram.

Now see a Governor and Minister ( different parties) dancing when it's not Friday or a party at an event where millions have been wasted just to rent the tent, print pamphlet, and buy snacks for the guests; and the citizens are shining their 32 saying " that's my Governor, I love my Governor, he always makes me happy" Is he a jester? Is that what he was elected and is being paid billions to do?

Today, the first anniversary of the terrorist attack on the train in Abuja, with no one arrested or charged despite the many killed. Same Minister under whose watch, prison after prison was broken into across the country, and prisoners escaped.

Weeks after the election, the Elect is already resting abroad. Not one summit or strategic meeting on solving the glaring problems. Even the simple one of people paying N500 to send N5000.

Even the Opposition is confused. N25 Million to get ordinary nomination form for Governor , not campaign funds o; and you think the next
Governor wont steal? Or maybe they are not confused; its normal normal.

Will President Emefile pay over time charges to the bank workers? Give banks money for the extra fuel to power Generators and pay policemen?
Help babysit the children of bank workers whose parents will now be working 7 days a week?
One man just sits somewhere and gives directives to every one and we say this is a Federation and free country?

1. So when Jesus Christ said that those who do not obey Him are not worthy of Him , He didn't mean that they first had to be deserving of Him before they can have Him? undecided

2. God didn't say any of that which you quoted, mind you. Last I checked, those there are supposedly the views of a man called Paul and even he made clear in His epistles that his wordss aren't meant to serve as a replacement or alternative to the Words of Jesus Christ, the Gospel Himself. undecided

From what you wrote above, I understand you better now; we are obviously coming from two completely different viewpoints. I ll stop here. grin

1. It seems to don't like to let God speak for Himself, do you? God never said Jesus Christ was a gift. As a matter of fact, He explicitly stated that it is only those who are willing to submit themselves to Him in order to obey His teachings and commandments that will benefit from His Love in Jesus Christ- John 15 vs 9 -11 - so how can Jesus Christ be a gift? undecided

Even Jesus Christ made it clear in His sermons that only those who make themselves worthy of Him can have Him and His Heaven - Matthew 10 vs 34 - 38. So how can He be considered a gift. undecided

Even the verse you quoted indicates that it is only those who believe... not just anyone ... can have the eternal life which He offers --- the first salvation--- , and even after that, only who stand faithful -- in continuous submission and obedience to His teachings and commandments-- until the end, will be saved - the second salvation found from sin , Matthew 10 vs 22 & Matthew 24 vs 12 - 13 & Mark 13 vs 13. . undecided

A gift is something given by a giver on his own terms and undeserved.
Anything you get that is not a gift is earned, you worked for it.

Again. God speaks:

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus " Romans 6:23

" For by Grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God." Ephesians 2:8

We are free to receive God's gift or to reject it.

1. Luke 11 vs 13 does not state that the Holy Spirit is a gift as He is only given to those who prove themselves through the doing of much work that they are in fact of Jesus Christ - John 8 vs 31 - 36 & John 14 vs 15 - 27 & John 15 vs 25-26 & John 16 vs 4-16. The Holy Spirit is a stand-in for Jesus Christ Himself in the lives of His followers and He is not a gift, in much the same way that Jesus Christ Himself was not a gift. undecided

Now, to be born of the spirit— which is not to be confused with the Holy Spirit—, however, one can consider that spirit a gift given to all those who believe and are born again as a result. undecided

Everything God gives us is a gift including life and Jesus himself.
You either earn something by what you do or you are given without deserving it.

" For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3: 16.

2. Jesus Christ never said the Spirit of God was a gift, so I am not certain where you get your warped narrative regarding His person from. Also, Jesus Christ explained in His teachings that those who are not Holy cannot have the Helper, so how can the Helper be a gift to guide just about anyone in your narrative of who He is? undecided

3 undecided

The Bible is filled with many verses that say the Holy Spirit is a gift.
