I haven't visited one since December last year
I think I paid 5k for Avatar 2 back then
How much did you pay for John Wick? depends on location...it should be around N3,500 I think Avatar 2 was N5k cos it was in 3D...but in some states, people watched it for as low as N2,500 |

abduleez1: Yea, the main character was an ice skater. Not until her skating incident that damaged her knee, this, rendering her unable to skate anymore. Everyone is put to test. But her's was special being that a reality was created where she thinks she's seeing her mom and people she left after her suicide.
So the Death Note guy made it. No wonder there's some similarities with judgement and death.
It's a brilliant piece. But it took me some time to fully dig it. I downloaded it since January in place of Kingdom (cos the Chinese anime was a bit long). Struggled to watch it for months. Last week that I became serious with it na serious falling asleep. But it finally came through when I really wanted to clear it off my bucket list. not surprising considering it's pace and that it's mostly episodic I personally struggled the first time... But by my second trial, I enjoyed it all and binged |

abduleez1: Nope. You got it mixed up a bit. Every human, after being judged all turns to dolls and the souls reincarnate (heaven) or thrown into a bottomless pit of reliving unending sorrows, regrets of one's life — the VOID (hell).
The dolls are just a vessel to hold the soul in a corporeal form before and during he or she's judgement. I watched it several years ago... I can't remember much I remember there is an ice skating scene tho...and a test or so where what the girl was seeing wasn't reality It's made by the same guy who made Death Note I loved the concept, and the Arbiters or whatever they're called |

abduleez1: Death Parade..... 8/10
Great anime about human thoughts and line of actions when pushed between life and death situations. Brilliant in truly showcasing human tendencies. I love the portrayal of hell in this show... It was not really hell but rather the souls would not reincarnation and would end up like dolls or so... Can't really remember |

Gmajor: SMH. Simba means lion in Swahili. Initially they wanted to name the english dub of the animated series Simba but the thought it was too generic and so they settled for Kimba. Yes. The similarity is a coincidence. when there appear to be too many "coincidences", it forms a pattern |
TV/Movies › Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by Baddestguyp(m): 12:07pm On Mar 26, 2023 |
Meksbig: Yeah, that summary as well as the ratings drew me in. The show had a lot of things going for it but it just felt a bit drawn out to me. most Korean shows feel drawn out. It's mostly because of the fact that they have long runtime and the way they are written, they are mostly straight to the point...it's event after event It's not like Hollywood series where barely anything happens in most episodes...instead the episodes are filled with character conversations |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Baddestguyp(m): 10:01pm On Mar 25, 2023 |
More @ Gmajor No bro...all these similarities outlined in this open letter are just coincidences

Gmajor: When the Kimba vs. Simba controversy is brought up, there are two things I notice right away:
1. Most people have seen The Lion King but have not seen Kimba the White Lion (KtWL).
2. Most people think KtWL is a theatrical length movie.
So to address point 1. Why would you even defend something that you've not personally watched? I know that in controversial topics like this, it is easy to assume that people who are making the claim that Simba ripped off Kimba have already done their homework and as such must know what they are talking about. But, has it occurred to you that they may be ignorant or biased and as such, may not be telling you the whole truth. A rule good rule for life is to not have strong opinions about any information you've not personally verified for yourself.
For the second point: A lot of people think that KtWL is a 90ish minute movie, so when they see the comparisons like the one GloriousGbola Posted, it's easy to see why they'll say that Simba copied KtWL. But kimba is in reality made of up a Manga, TV series and lot of movies which when totaled is more than 2000 minutes in lenght. Just keep that in mind.
This type of argument is like saying vampires exist in The Vampire Diaries and vampires also exist in Twilight, therefore, The Vampire Diaries copied Twilight.
In the same vein, when you're telling your story with animals in Africa, there will be similarities in shots and characters because the settings are similar. It isn't uncommon for common tropes to be seen in similar media. So the fact that Lion King has a baboon and a parrot isn't really a smoking gun.
Moreover, the team that made the Lion King has always been open about where they got inspiration for the story. According to them, they wanted to make a tale of Hamlet set in the jungle, but people like to cling to superficialities andclaim they KtWL was the real inspiration which is not true.
Now, let me bust your mind, the pictures that GloriousGbola posted are from the 1996 movie that was released 4 years after The Lion King was released on 1994. It's likely that these shots exist because the Kimba team saw the controversy surrounding the movie also decided to cash in on it. It's also good to keep in mind that Osamu Tezuka (the creator of KtWL) died before the Lion King was so we don't know what he thinks about this. However, his son has come out to say that the Lion King did not copy KtWL they chose not to admit it doesn't mean shiit "We watched it as kids but didn't copy it" Maybe I should come and make my own Nigerian cartoon about a cat and a mouse... It doesn't matter that I watched it as a kid...it's an original idea "I didn't know of it" (but I worked in animation in Japan at the same period when the work was well known) 🤡 So if I copy a work, and say "no I didn't copy it" My son too comes out to say "my father didn't copy it" I definitely didn't copy it

Ballzproblemm: DC studios obviously don't know what to do with their universe, upon the fact that they have more diverse superheroes than marvel ,yet they keep making crap.
quite unfortunate Amazon only got rights to produce a Batman animated series, cause Amazon invest heavily in their superhero shows (e.g invincible, the boys).
Just sell it to Amazon totally DC characters are too overpowered aside from Batman And DC haven't done enough to establish their characters imo There's a reason why Batman sells the most for them. Because the character is good. This reboot might be good for DC, so they can establish all their characters from scratch. With a young inexperienced Superman, we can get to know his character from childhood while learning to control his powers... It could help the audience care more for the character There is also the fact of Superhero fatigue setting in...but not in the way people think... The audience is just more selective of Superhero movies and need a good reason to watch them |

ositadima1: "According to ScreenRant, because the Paths exist separately from time, Ymir can spend years making a Titan, but the transformation will appear instantaneous to those in the real world."
"Ymir is dead with respect to real life and her soul remained trapped in the Paths dimension and continued to serve her descendants by building Titans whenever they invoked the Power of the Titans."
Yes, Eren freed Ymir. In the Attack on Titan manga's final chapter, Eren reveals to Armin that Mikasa was the one who set Ymir free. According to Eren, Ymir had been waiting for someone to "release her from the agony of love". Mikasa's choice to kill Eren somehow liberated Ymir, although only Ymir knows why.
In an earlier chapter, Eren offered to break Ymir's restraints and give her free will. She chose to cooperate with him and gave him her power to use as he saw fit.
This cooperation was defined by free will - Eren didn't order Ymir around. Later, when Eren gave other Titans a choice to fight him and didn't take away their abilities, he effectively gave them free will until his death.
The details of how exactly Eren ended the curse of Ymir are still unclear. However, in the extra pages of the manga's final volume, it is revealed that another boy came into contact with the origin of life after Eren died. Prior to this event, if a Titan wielder died without passing on their power, a random Eldian child would have been born with it. But somehow, Eren effectively ended this cycle.
The role that Mikasa played in all of this is related to helping Ymir let go so that she could finally move on and die - as she dies, Titanhood is reversed and the Paths no longer function. my post was limited to anime-only...I purposely left out manga spoilers and that is why I stated that according to S4E21... What you are talking about happened at the end of the manga and is spoilers As of S4E21, Eren had not freed Ymir...so I'm technically right...he gave her the chance to choose and she gave him the opportunity to use her powers For the other boy coming into contact, that is somewhat wrong. The boy came into contact with the tree...we speculate the Hallucigenia/Source of all Life is in the tree...but there is no guarantee that Titans will ever return, in fact I doubt they will... Final panel represents the cycle of war/hatred. As long as humans exist, war/hatred will always occur. History will repeat itself. And people will always strive for a way out. And something new might be born as a result. Now the reason why it probably does not mean that Titans return is: 1. Technology has evolved to even the use of bomber jets, Titans are pretty much useless even if they did return 2. Chapter 137 fully explained what led to the formation of Titans and how it is linked to Ymir's personality - thus even if the Hallucigenia/Source of Life is in the tree, this will not lead to the formation of Titans... For Mikasa's role, it is about two women, 2000 years apart, trapped by their love and unwilling to let go of the men who put the world at the greatest risk... Mikasa showed Ymir how to make the right decision and free herself from this shackle, while also holding on to her love This is because what trapped Ymir for 2000 years was her love (stockholm syndrome) for King Fritz which bound her to the world and she had been unable to let go Attack on Titan is the Story of Mikasa, Shown through the POV of Eren and Narrated by Armin
