Engineers too understand basic law.
Yea, i understand. But for the NERC job, we don't need "basic law". We need someone who will be able to hold them responsible for their actions in accordance with the laws that binds them and drag them as far as the cases take them.

An engineer is fit to be in charge of the power ministry, Genco, Transco or Disco or even the NERC but the best fit for NERC, to me, is a lawyer with basic electrical engineering knowledge.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Nominates Akintunde Ibitayo Akinwande For NERC Chair, Drops Shasore by badttrader(m): 2:53pm On Jul 25, 2016
Well, if you ask me, i believe a lawyer is fit to fill that position. Its a REGULATORY agency not an electricity industry operator.

For you to deal with these private companies and hold them to their faults in a democratic setting like this, you need to have sufficient knowledge of the laws of our country and maybe just the fundamentals of electricity. And i'm sure there are a lot of engineers that can put him through on the latter.

I beg to disagree....!

The problem of Niger Delta is not the government but the leaders and their elders!

I don't know if you stayed in that region before then you would understand what Jonathan mean by "stealing is not corruption".

Everyone you see making noise in that region are not interested in the well-being of the region but they only want to get their share of the national cake and relocate!

Jonathan was there for 6yrs, what was his achievement for the region?

Timpolo, Asari, boyloff, Orubebe, Clark to mention but a few, what was their contribution towards the development of that region? All those guys I mentioned are billionaires, how do they get their money?

ND should go and put their house in order
My brother, please start minding your business on this ND issue like i have started doing.

I have come to realize that most people that come here to make noise for the ND have never even stepped foot in the creeks and see things for themselves.

The people themselves have an inherent problem, though the FG share part of the blame oo.

Even Orubebe's community, Ogbugbagbene in Burutu LGA Delta state, based on info from a good source, does not have a good link road to dryland.

[b]The problem we have is that the only way people in government know how to increase revenue is to ask the impoverished citizens for money. That is why I like the concept of "Entrepreneurial Governance". For God's sake, WEALTH IS CREATED BY CREATING VALUE! Federal and State Governments should STOP hiring Media advisers, SSA New media, SSA print media, SSA electronic media, SSA yeye media. Rather they should engage PRODUCTION ENGINEERS to create VALUE and generate wealth.
If it will take this nation experiencing a full scale recession (to the point that FG cannot pay states and salaries) to do the right thing, so be it. 95% of Governors do not have a clue of how to make their states wealthy except to BORROW and TAX the poor. Can you imagine last time I gave the grand proposal of executing a Technology Park in Lagos to both Osibanjo and also to Ambode. I didn't even ask them to contribute a dime! Just give a moral support shikena! Both refused. This project will give jobs to 50,000 young people. But who cares when hawkers are chased to their deaths by KAI officials?
Truth is that I have resolved to do the project without any single government moral support. So long as I can get 100 youths who are die-hard Achievers.

Boss, whats the project about? and can one be part of it?

The difference is much. See what Sokoto state now pays...

Corper doctors 50k (No wonder every science student wants to study med surge)
Pharmacists 25k (When d above fail, they resort to pharmacy or optometry)
Nurses/Medical Technicians 15k
Social sciences/Humanities 5k ( grin) Chai!!

See gapppp.
My guy, Sokoto state is not even trying sef. 50k is too small. I am currently serving in Delta state and i can authoritatively tell you that corp doctors are paid 86k. I don't know about pharmacists but Med lab scientists'allowance was recently increased from 45k to 60k.

But the truth there is you will work like a normal hospital staff. Corp doctors also have calls late in the night like other full time doctors.

Exactly, l knew that would be your "come-back-line".

Someone once told Nigerians "It is not by force to own a telephone"! undecided
When the People are subjected to ABJECT POVERTY, they would even be grateful to a Govt that says they are only entitled "one sachet of Pure Water", in a week"! shocked shocked grin

Its sad that our Governance, aided by ignorant people like you who benefit one way or the other from the rot in the system, think "basic amenities" that Citizens are ENTITLED TO..... is not by force!

It has come down to the level of "take it or leave it, that is what we can provide", no matter how silly it comes across.

But l know that a good government does not substitute this kind of sham project, for "Creation of Jobs", which l think the Youths of this country are entitled to.
And if you cant even be smart enough to provide the Jobs, just create the "enabling environment" (Power, Fuel, Roads and low-interest loans) and our hard working Youths will pick it up from there.

But when a Govt becomes bereft of ideas, unresponsive and arrogant, they tell their YOUTHS "Its not by force".

FYI, l am not in the category of those who need this kind of "insult jobs and pay" ...... l have passed this stage, nearly three decades ago!
Back then, you study well, graduated with good grades (We even have "almost free" food in our University canteens so hunger was not a problem when studying) and when you finished your NYSC, you did a few interviews and their is a job for you .... or you set-up your own business and the environment was conducive to do so.

I really pity the Youths of these days, who have been reduced to "beggars" in their own country, that is rich and blessed with resources as well as saddled with corrupt and brainless leaders who only know how to steal from the public purse.

The only way to ameliorate poverty is to ensure what the people need to get out of poverty is provided so they can make use of those things.

"Dont keep giving a Man fish..... Teach him how to fish and he would forever be Rich".

BTW: Dont try to use the party-line with me, l voted Buhari, support APC .....but this initiative is balderdash. undecided

PoliticsRe: Ultimate Warriors of Niger Delta Emerges, Demands 60% Oil Bloc by badttrader(m): 10:59pm On Jun 08, 2016
YoursGEJ:
Don't they also want all corruption charges against ND politicians who stole money to be dropped?

The problem of the Niger Delta is found in their own house. These states get 13% derivation from crude oil sales. Before you say that is not enough, just look at the infrastructure that has been developed by Akwa Ibom (good roads everywhere, world-class hospital and stadium) and Cross River states (Tinapa, Obudu, etc). You'll rarely hear of militant/criminal activities in these two states

Ok lets look at Delta, Rivers and Bayelsa states where militancy are concentrated. These states are the highest beneficiaries from the 13% derivation rule, collecting trillions of Naira since it was implemented. Do you hear of life-changing infrastructure being built with the money? No. What we hear is Alamesigha dressed as a woman to escape bail from UK, Peter Odili granted perpetual injunction against arrest, James Ibori in jail in UK (forfeiting hundreds of millions of pounds meant to develop his state to the UK that does not even need the money), etc. Furthermore, their own son was president for six years and he could not implement a single project in his own village not to talk of his state belente his geographical zone.

Yet, criminals from these particular three states (Delta being the main one), continue to blame 'lack of federalism' while asking for corruption charges to be dropped against thieves like them. Akwa Ibom and Cross River are leaving you people behind and I don't see the same 'lack of federalism' holding them back. SMH.

If you give Delta, Rivers and Bayelsa their own country, they will loot themselves dry and still blame the poor Hausa man in Bauchi who's farming onions. People in the ND need to hold their leaders accountable while also looking at the mirror.

Rant over
There is no better way to say this.

Who suffers it?

The average and poor Nigerian

The Federal and States will downsize its workforce and probably still owe the few in service

Oil Multinationals, servicing company`s and other players will downsize or probably close operations which would cause massive unemployment

State allocation will reduce and it will stall the economy of the 36 states and Nigeria as a whole.

Its just a pity the Avengers think they re biting the Government when they re just indirectly pointing a gun at the average and poor Nigerian.

#The people Avengers believe they re attacking can never feel the consequence cos they re over-made

Another round of distribution of our Common properties to Indimi, Atiku, Rilwan and Dangote them.
No one will remember the Owners of oil itself until a facility goes up in flames somewhere in the creek and the shameless parasites start shouting 'kill them'

If federal government wants to be sensitive with this auction, they need to find a way to cover some prominent men from Nigeria Delta, otherwise there will always be militancy down there.

Watch out how one Muhammed something will buy the refinery in Port Harcourt and expect the neighbourhood to watch over it for him for free.
But i bet my last money that the Refinery in Kaduna can never be bought by any one from South South or South East even if the person is Buhari's friend. Can we bet on it?
Some of you will think i am preaching disunity or something like that but the truth is that i am preaching the reality. You cant eat with your enemy if you don't have a long spoon.

You can't Kill Saro Wiwa, Jail Tompolo and Asari, give oil license to Atiku, Danjuma, Indimi etc and expect Peace. You must be daft to think the peace will last forever.
I am not from ND but every sensitive government do not use force to settle its internal problems.
Abeg Make we hear word!

Did any niger delta person bid for those oil blocs and was denied a license??
Mrs Alakija has an oil bloc, even Emeka Offor has. Whatever the niger delta people are going through now is 40% their fault and 60% the fault of their leaders. They lack visionary leaders.

Who has peace helped in solving the niger delta conflict, by the way. Even if as we speak, alot of these niger delta boys are still receiving amnesty money for doing absolutely NOTHING. The various oil companies in the region still carry out their corporate social responsibilities. My friend, please, what else do they want? Make we leave naija for them ni?

Before you start attacking me, note that i am typing from the creeks right now. I have seen the ijaw people, with my two eyes, for who they are. So this is not hearsay.

PS: i mean no disrespect to any ijaw brother on this forum please.
