Ive got a 15months old daughter (Team may 2017) and i bake lactation cookies and milkshakes for nursing mothers. Ive learnt so much from this page. Mamas and soon to be Mamas...please when traveling with substantial amount of money, where's the safest and best place to keep it...
Do you put it in your hand luggage or your checked in luggage...
Hand bag o. To avoid stories that touch!
And that handbag sef should be put under the seat infront of u. Incase u sleep off u can put ur leg ontop am. Person no go fit comot ur leg to steal except u can sleep for africa Hahaha. Its not only in nigeria that the steal frm luggages. Other countries too.

Hi Senator1212 you sent a mail requesting to talk and i accepted. Yet to hear from you. You can ask ur question on the platform so that others can contribute too. You know what they say about two heads being better than one

Thanks dear. I was very sad and Ive made up my
Mind not to even bother again. My EDD is end of October. I hear no dates are available till October anyway.
Hi dear. So sorry to hear this. You can apply again. This time around, try not to give one line answers to their questions. The main thing this visa officers want to know is if you can afford your trip and if you have ties (economic and social) back in nigeria that will bring you back home. Most of their questions will be centered on this. Try to answer this questions without them asking if u know what i mean (u can check my interview post) e.g visa officer: what r u going to do in the US?
You: im on maternity leave so i intend to travel during this period to give birth"
With this eg you have been able to kill two birds with one stone. You have answered his question no doubt but u have also answered another question of his that he is yet to ask because you mentioned "maternity leave" everyone knows its only people that are workng that are entitled to that. So you have answered the yet to be asked question on economic ties.
Most times they dont ask for documents, so you only have ur words to convince them. Above all, you need to pray. Tell the Holy Spirit to take control.
Wow! Long epistle. Pardon any typographical errors. Hope you understnd wat im trying to say shaa. If u dont u can send a dm

Hello house pls I need urgent advice. My DH was suppose to notize the DS 3053 form today but there was a mistake and he was asked to book another appointment in August which is too late for us. Can he notarize the form any where else apart from the embassy or can he just sign and send it to me. Pls advice me
It depends on your location. E.g Houston accepts notarized form from a notary public but El paso is strictly from the US embassy. So check the law applicable in your location.
You can't notarize it on your own. The form is meant for your husband stating that since he can't be with you in order to apply for the baby's US passport, he is authorizing you to do it on his behalf. So he has to notarize it and sign before sending it to you.

Baeboss, what about the officers at the airport in the U.S, before you board your flight and the airlines, they do check your visa. Wht will you show them before you depart to Nigeria n obtain your LO visa
Print the letters from immigration and show the airline that's all. From my personal experience, no "officer at the airport" checked or stopped Me for not having a visa on my baby's passport.
Anyway even if they tried to stop me, I would have shown them the letters from immigration and the correspondence email to prove that i applied and my application was granted.

Please can someone kindly explain how to go about this visa on arrival for LO?
I'm sorry but I'm still a bit confused. Would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
@justwise @baeboss @desoul
Pls go to the website and submit your application letter together with the required documents (husband's data page, wife's data page, baby's data page, travel itinery etc). They will respond with two letters within two days or less. One letter contains an approval letter addressed to you while the other letter is addressed to the immigration comptroller incharge of the location you choose to arrive (lagos or abuja) instructing the officer to grant your baby visa upon the baby's arrival. You can choose to make payment online or you can pay cash or with ur card as soon as you arrive Nigeria. It is as simple as that@

Hi everyone,
i am new to the child birth, this is our first and we are planned to use Oakbend medical center, how do we go about it.
Someone plz help.
Find a doctor that is affiliated to Oakbend and start corresponding. The doctor will be able to give you a quotation for his/her fees. This you can use when applying for visa. You can read up on other people experience here on nairaland. Just type the word Oak bend in the search column.

Hi everyone, you don't need to pay anyone money to get visa on arrival. Kindly go to the immigration website, apply and pay online. When you arrive Nigeria, show your receipt and the visa will be given to your LO. Or you can apply and pay in cash or with your card when you arrive. There is just a slight $10 difference when paying in cash.

Hi everyone. Here is my visa application story/Poe story. I'm grateful to God Almighty for everything. Got my visa ending of January 2017. Applied for B2. Interview took place in abj. Went with all my documents but no single document was requested for.
The female visa officer asked what I was going to do in the US and I told her that i was pregnant and I intend to take my maternity leave and go give birth in the US then quickly come back and resume work. She asked me what i do for a living and I told her I'm a lawyer and i work for xxxxxx company. I even went further to explain in details, my duties/roles and all other services i provide. To confirm if i was truly a lawyer, she asked about my most recent interesting case in court. Also asked what my husband does for a living. Told her a writer for xxxxx company in the US so She asked if he was based in the US and i said no, he is based in Nigeria because he covers stories in the West African region. She asked for my EDD and how long I intend to stay in the US. I told her 8 weeks but was hoping that I will deliver before my EDD so that I could quickly come back to Nigeria. She further asked how much the child birthing will cost and how much i have of which i told her about $13,000- $14,000 for child birth and xxxxxx amount of money on me. She asked if this is my 1st pregnancy and i said yes with a smile on my face. Her last question was if the pregnancy has any complications and i quickly said no and that since its my 1st I just want what is best for the child and while i was saying all that, she was already handing over the white paper to me. Her last words to me "YOUR VISA HAS BEEN GRANTED, YOU HAVE BEEN TRUTHFUL TO ME SO BE TRUTHFUL AT THE POE." By God's grace I spoke with confidence all through the interview and I was audible. Most importantly I prayed to the Holy Spirit to speak through me and also be with the person who will interview me. Got my Emirates tickets for Dallas and then United airlines for Houston. Flew Emirates at 34+weeks. Submited medif form to the email addy but still Used a fit to fly letter from teaching hospital. Spent a night in dubai. Dubai visa and hotel accommodation covered by emirates. Landed in Dallas around 10am. The airport DFW was empty so no queue. Tried to use the self service machine but my passport was not scanning so was asked to meet the CBP officer. I did not spend up to 2 minutes. The officer asked me where i was going to in the US and what i was planning to do and i said Houston and that I'm on maternity leave so i intend to rest and give birth. He asked how long i intend to stay and I said 8 weeks and he stamped me in for 6 months. No single documents was asked for again. (Even tho i had paid my doctor's fee and accomodation) Went to carry my luggage then met the 2nd CBP officer who asked me where I was going, i said Houston. He said asked how much I have on me and i told him xxxxx amount. He said i can see that you are pregnant and i smiled and said yes. He asked if i have any family in the US and i said no. He asked if I have made arrangements for accommodation and i said yes and paid for and made gesture to show him the accommodation receipt but he waved and said I can go. Took a shuttle to terminal E to board United airlines to Houston. Arrived Houston 40mins later and waited for my host (precious cedars) to come pick me up. Using Dr Dama Ziworitin a.k.a Dr Z and i have already had my 1st appointment with him. After which i went to register with Oakbend. Oakbend honoured their old price after i showed them the correspondence I was given by Dr Z when I first contacted him. To God be the Glory! Special tnx to my amazing friend @DiObyyy (babygirl you are one in a million. I love you) and all other ladies who responded when i reached out to them in the course of my research.

I said it doesn't matter what city you decide to go to. Things change, plans change. They won't penalise you for going to a different State from what you said in your interview. Your visa covers the whole United States of America and not only the State you used for the visa. As long as your intention and purpose hasn't changed, location can change.
Thank you. Truly appreciate this.
