reported that women were becoming emboldened toward their husbands. Beatings are
sometimes necessary to keep women in their place.
Abu Dawud (2142) - "The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: A man will not be asked as
to why he beat his wife."

In addition to what is said above, what led to the decline of pdp apart from their inability to perform was the style of campagn they embacked on.
I think the Nigeria electorates are more intrested in what your manifesto is,not abusive words to ones opposition. This fact played a vital role in pushing out the pdp.
Secondly,being in power for sixteen years made the pdp so arrogant and lost touch with the people.
