Naira Facebook ads is a waste of valuable time. You hardly get good sales leads.

Dollar Facebook ads work excellently.
Boss it is all lies. Naira works perfectly and you get good leads... I am not saying this as amateur, my digital marketing skills get recommendations and i do all with nigerian currency.

Experience with facebook advertising shows that Facebook ads with Nigerian bank cards in use as payment gets very poor quality clicks and sales leads on the ads while those of foreign bank cards in use for payment gets high quality ads click and sales lead from everywhere leading to purchases.
Haba! It all boils down on target and time of promotion not currenry or card whatever. I do it for companies on contract and they keep praising my efforts.

Pls i want to understand something, why call a consultant to order when you can order directly online??
There are so many things you don't know about whatever you see on Jumia like a consultant do. You might have come across many complaints on Jumia from so many people, with consultant that knows his/her job the risk of having issue with your order is so small. Even if issue arises, you have the consultant always ready to fight the battle all through the period and the issue is resolved faster. We know the best item to order on Jumia as not all items on Jumia should be ordered.

Lol, and you cannot hold such celebrity responsible for zero result. Thank God your company realised it would be waste of resources, when you can actually outsource your company's social media pages and spend less with more visibility and possible business deals. Over hyping will kill some people.

BusinessRe: What No One Tells You About Entrepreneurship In Nigeria by bamac(m): 1:55pm On Jan 29, 2019
QueenMoremi:
Entrepreneurship in Nigeria has been extremely glorified. It isn’t rare to find young people talking about how much they can’t wait to leave their 9-5 jobs for something more lucrative where they get to be their own boss. This isn’t a bad thing. However, it is important to know about both the pros and cons of entrepreneurship before taking the leap.

Below are some of the hard truths:

It’s not always going to rain on Sunday

This simply means that there will be days where the income just isn’t coming in as it should. This doesn’t make you a bad entrepreneur. In fact, the true test of entrepreneurship is being able to withstand days or months like these. To combat this, make sure you get your savings right and you have enough for the dry seasons.

Not everyone is built for entrepreneurship.

So entrepreneurship isn’t just something you enter into because the sight of your boss disgusts you and you would like to wake up whenever you deem fit. It isn’t equally something everyone is destined to retire to. See point number 1, if you have that level of stamina to persevere where the going gets tough because that is inevitable, then by all means venture into it because many things are uncertain and risky about entrepreneurship. However, one thing that is certain is the fact that it will get tough.

A major part of your income will be spent on electricity
Lots of times, people don’t factor in the costs that fuel for the generator incure. In a day, you could end up spending as much as N10,000; calculate that for a week, now do the costing for a month. Not pretty is it? Unfortunately, you are no longer an employee and costs such as these which were previously not a concern of yours have now become part and parcel of your priority list. It is essential to factor in these costs, as it will be a key factor in how many hands you hire, the budget you present to your clients etc.

A lot of meetings are a waste of time

This is especially true in Lagos. Many prospective clients feel the need to have countless meetings regarding issues that can be sorted out via a single phone call. Guys, we are in the digital age, and there are things called Skype, Whatsapp video calls, etc, through which you can have virtual meetings. As an entrepreneur, time is money. Half the time there’s traffic on the roads. Then if you don’t own a car yet, you have to use Uber/Taxify to get to said meetings. You should get into the habit of determining whether or not a meeting is needed, and if not, politely explain to your client that a virtual meeting would suffice.

People like to OWE money

Yes, OWE is in caps for emphasis! When you first start out as an entrepreneur, it can be quite an exciting feeling knowing that people are patronizing your business. I tell you, your customers can smell your rookie excitement from a mile away. And if you are not careful, there are some people who will try to take advantage of you when they sense that you are a new, hungry entrepreneur on the come up. You need to come up with a payment system that favors and protects you. For instance, some service providers insist on upfront payment before service is carried out. Explore your options and find out what would work best for you depending on your field.

You will work harder than you’ve ever worked
The success or failure of your business is all on you. No pressure.

Nothing could ever prepare you for the life of an entrepreneur. You sink or swim. There are no short cuts. Some make it and others don’t. It is however important that you think carefully about all the pros and cons before you dive in. It is also of high importance that you read and try to equip yourself with as much information in the field in which you are trying to get into. Be a sponge and soak it all in, as much as you can.

Are you looking to take the leap to become a full on entrepreneur? Please consider some of these points. Are you an existing entrepreneur with a few more hard truths of your own? Please share in the comments below.

Why invite me to Sagamu for job I'm not sure of..

Well, you wouldn't know the one that will click with that kond of attitude. We use money to get more money.

I have gone for many social media advert meetings and item procurement from Jumia as a Jumia sales consultant with organizations in Lagos and some states in Nigeria from Ijebu-ode, some clicked while several others didn't, but if i did not go to meet those clients i am limiting my chances of survival as a one man hustler.

It shouldn't be a crime to buy online and for someone to put his/her product online, the problem is the sellers that post different picture of what they have to attract buyers. I don't lnow what is so difficult snapping what you have and just do very little edit to make it look completely original instead of paying huge some of money for picture edit which will now make item more expensive.

I just hope i get a sponsor/investor that will take a positive look at my business plan soon, online market will be what it should be in this part of the country.

MsGood:
Don't mind them. I don't even support buying anything online.
it os just the way most people who sell online positioned their mind, they run from being original and hug picture beautification instead.

whytediamond:
Threads like this are always dry and we wonder why Africa is still in the doldrums.
You can't expect it to be lively, social media especially is boring to study for those who want to engage in the online visibility. The growth is not like many writers will paint it without you using money to get the best of it.

Many people have tried but they are not getting result. And in this part of the world when people hear "online" they think of scam.

The truth is this, you cannot get the best result putting your business online without spending money.

You will only be lucky if you can get good social media strategist who will work you through.

I am a social media marketer, i expose the truth and walk anyone to get favourable online result.

We all want to make our business visible online, not all of us can study the techniques required just like not all of us will face same line of business.

I have trained students of institutions on digital marketing, the moments you get deep on social media they will start telling you "so, facebook is this large". Social media goes beyond the posting of pictures and those status update & social media promotion goes beyond clicking promote now, boost post.

Making your business go online is the in thing now, but if you cannot study it, get someone trained among your staff or just outsource to those that will get you the value for your money.

In all, if you cannot get yourself trained, just focus on your service while you just hire someone who can do it or just outsource like the Op pointed out.

Well done i2know2.

Nevertheless, i feel educating potential customer is the best. @Op within 3-6 days you should get it as he has said, it isn't global, please contact him for the best service.

czarina:
To save yourself from headache, whatever you do on Jumia, use the pay on delivery option or nothing.

I'm talking from experience.
I know many don't really know that you can save yourself of headache when you use Jumia Sales consultant. See whatever your experience is, i know that if you have used sales consultant that knows his or her job it might not have gone wrong.

There are many nairalanders thqt i have asdisted with orders and they are enjoying it good time. Yes, not that issues don't surface but the sales consultant can get it resolved. I have ordered for people here and wrong item was delivered, they got their money back.

On abroad item, no matter how wise you can be you willpay before it can be ordered. Many sales consultants are having it hard because people don't know who is who anymore as internet scam is now saturated, but they are still trusting few with their money because of reciews of that consultant by other nairalanders.

See, there are some of us who bid for contracts, who deal with market women and organizations, if they have habad experience they would have u-turned.

Macblu:
It will be Delivered to you within 3-6 working days.
Don't put to heart what they wrote on their site.

You can WhatsApp me https:///2349020189199 Let me Place an Order for you.
i wouldn't say you are wrong, but it will be better you tell the Op such abroad item that he/she will get within 3-6 days isn't from Jumia because the timeline for delivery of global item is between 10-20 days, stop causing confusion as your claim can cause issues for another serious consultants and it can tarnish your own image if you do it on Jumia and didn't get delivered within 6 days as you claimed.

Otisker:
I saw a leeco phone on jumia namely le 3 pro 651 (letv) and i really love the phone so much that i can't buy another phone. But the delivery date is too long and don't really know how to order for the phone and where to get it. Please help...
Please be informed that no matter who makes the order, so far it is from abroad, the delivery timeline is within 10-20 days, but in very few cases latest is the 24th day as location is a huge determinant. But it will be better if you use sales consultant, trust me, if you use a sales consultant who knows his/her job you will surely get your device delivered. And if there is issue with the device within 7 days after delivery you will get your money back after item has been received and confirmed faulty. But once it is over 7 days after delivery and anything happens, you are on your own as such phobes don't have warranty.

Facebook groups only good when you are running 1/2 niches. But many niche, Facebook page is the best just that it is expensive. With $50 buying likes on Facebook , you cant get more than 300 likes.
You guys are making me to feel i am doing it differently.

This is the mistake many of us do that i will like to mention briefly. The Moment you buy page likes just know that your post will not get the required engagement. You are buying likes from people's that built their page on unrelated niche as yours and you are expecting those likes to react to your post when they don't even know how they liked it in the first place. They sell likes from foreign countries to you when your niche should have engaged more with people here in the country.

See, it is not about the amount of people on your page, the engagement matters. I don't have up to 50 likes on my business page, yet when i have deals with my clients i push their ads to whatever amount of people i want it to get to and they get the result. If i want to get large numbers of likes on the page i will rather boost the page and get the right likes.
