VCTROKOYE: Hi. Please can someone explain to me how family tree is drawn?
Wasap with family tree? Who is interested in pictures or diagrams with names you can't verify? My brother, you wanna show relationship, use valid, acceptable and recognised docs. Bone the fine art and focus on important stuffs and put all in God's hands. It will be well, just spend time gathering RELEVANT docs that would support CDHC requirements and you'll be fine. Cheers

That was the information on my under my profile in the portal but it has now changed to "Your application reference number NGA/_ _ _ _ _ is now ready for collection. Please visit the the centre where you submitted your application with your receipt and identification proof bla bla bla".

I would say your trv is possibly ready too. Congrats in advance!

lalla89: congrats bro ,when did u do ur medical ?
Submission, medicals, trv were all like 3weeks apart. Click on my username & you'll see my history on this thread/nairaland. This works for every user whose posts you would like to query. Thanks again & again because ALL glory belongs to God. Like I told ebugirl, no specific/rigid pattern I guess. Once the CDHC website rules are followed and one takes time to learn from posts of earlier successes including those that used authentic professional agents, one's good to go once God okays it. @Fhemmmy, I'm gonna come get a car from ya! Smiles

Is this what you currently have on your portal?
Your application has been assessed by the Canadian High Commission/Consulate General of Canada and is being returned to the centre where you applied.
not exactly. It said my app has been processsed on 17/05/2012 and I should come with the slip given to me for collection of my docs. Can't remember the exact words but that's the summary. Where did you get that message from?

Guys, i got my visa today. My class start Sept and the xpiry on the visa is 08/31/2013. Issue date reads 14/05/2012.
I didn't have to pay tuition before i got the approval and my sponsors account read only M2.9 which is far below the ($12,800 tuition + $10,000 welfare), tho my sponsor has a good civil service job.

My sponsors letter to the cdhc has no court signing (affidavit) on it, Just a signature following a word processed letter i typed myself.

Thank God and good luck! Ebugirl, you see there is no specific pattern?

fflowers: @ebugirl, u said one will have to undergo a crazy physical examination, pls dear, throw more light on d crazy teest, I really want too know all thee steps involved.
Also u said, one wuld b given a form to take to crestview radiology 4 X ray. Is it ΐϞ the same hospital or ouside thee hospital. If outside, watz d proximity like from the hospital.

Thanks dear.

You are made to go without clothes and your privacies will be checked! Just kidding. Chill abeg. Also, you can just take time to go through part 1 of this thread most questions have been answered. Trust me, I went through every page and realised this thread has part two because of repeated questions. However, it's fun to mix with
h people in your exact present situation. Good luck to us all and may God grant our desires according to His will. To answer your question, it's just as ebugirl said plus eye exam, bp check and medical history appraisal. As per fastest clinic, none really but less stressful, you may want to consider ones with a radiology unit and with quick appointments. Some use the ikoyi clinic or VI one.

ebugirl: @bamshy: in analyzing this issue critically, do Ɣõu̶̲̥̅̊ think CDHC will issue TRV to September applicants so early? They will put into consideration your accommodation, knowing fully well that school accomodation isn't yet open 4 Sept intake. As observed from our predecessor's experience, it ȋ̊§ issued few weeks b4 the start date.
I like your analysis. Well, since we both cannot be certain about CDHC's procedures, I guess we just wait. Wish us all good luck!

Toronto123: I will share my success story.

I have been in Canadian for almost 10 years. Came as an international student right after secondary school. I got my PR right after university and now i am a Canadian Citizen working for one of the biggest companies in Canada.

The secret to my success was to attend a school far away from distraction (in the country , i.e. Atlantic Canada). I hardly visit Toronto and avoided big cities to avoid the temptation may foolish Nigerian kids fall trap to. P.S try and avoid schools in Toronto
I hardly hung out with Nigerian; i said to myself i came to this country to mix and meet new people and that exactly what i did. Tip: Avoid all these Redeemed Church and Christ Embassy (no offense, but before you know you don join choir and youth ministry.. all these things takes away from your time and study period)
I graduated with a first class degree, the only Nigeria/African in my School at that time and guess what, I was picked immediately by a company.
I hope this helps

Thanks a lot! My aim was to get success stories like yours on a separate thread to avoid deviating from the topic of this thread. Nonetheless, I'm glad with hardwork & focus and God on your side, you are one of the successes we can look up to. Thanks for the time to drop these few lines. God bless!

Obamacare: Did you make any tuition payment before the one requested for alongside your medicals? Thanks for the reply..

So they asked you to make tuition payment. They didn't ask me to do that and I hope they don't
I don't think so. That instruction accompanied my med instruction. & since yours was without it, I doubt if they require you to do anything else. Let's just hope you get called for your TRV within the next 5 working days max. Good luck!

the earlier you do the medicals the better. If possible, do it tomorrow sef cos waiting after the medicals is done is another task altogether. Done my medicals and returned passport since 18th of April and i'm still expecting to read from them. Was at VAC on Monday to inquire though
Did mine on 25th but submitted on 30th because I had to bring along receipt of total tuition fees and employer's reference letter.

Not a bad idea . . .
But always remember that 10 lepers were healed and only one came back to give thanks

I'm glad you understand the reason behind having a thread of success stories to encourage us. Unfortunately, the "almighty" moderators in their WISDOM have removed the thread. Something, I knew they would do. It's all good. We are on their property, so they can disrespect our views without blinking!

Hello All, this thread became necessary when i noticed that many enthusiasts on the 'travelling to Canada thread' suddenly disappear from Nairaland after few months of arrival in Canada. The 'travelling to Canada' thread started as far back as 2008! Today, we rarely hear of what came out of the journey especially the achievements in school and after school.

I hope Nigerians in Canada will share their success stories on this thread to encourage potential Nigerians aiming to pursue their ambition in Canada. Your advice for or against travelling to Canada will be appreciated!

1. You have no clear study plan or one that makes sense.
2. You cannot show that you have stash-of-cash enough for your Canadian degree.
Even after medicals? Does medicals come before interview or after?

Hello,
On what grounds are people denied trv after medicals? Also, how long does it take to know CDHC's decision either way?

snuteria: bamshy, goahead and use the scanned copy explain to cdhc, what is going on, so as not to miss the deadline, my friend on this same forum last year did the same and we are both in canada... he even got his visa before the original came, they can always verify...

THANK YOU.

Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada-part2 by bamshy: 5:13pm On Apr 28, 2012
Hello All,
I have been asked by CDHC to pay ALL my fees upfront and submit receipt on or before May 4. I have been able to get the scanned copy from the school but it would take a longer time to receive the hard copy and I am almost at the CDHC deadline. Can I use the scanned copy of the receipt, attach the telex copy and transfer instruction form copy? Hope it's acceptable?
