bashtee: @ dipo I have a bit of the same issue but I wanna go to Humber and I already have the admission. I am not certain the 6month suggestion is correct. Please check the withdrawal policy of Humber as regards refund of fees if you need to pay before your trv. I checked and it appears refund is dependent on visa denial only. For other schools, a charge of CAD1400 is what they take for you withdrawing. Also, the withdrawal notice must be done in writing within a week of resumption date. |

Beehandz: Thank you NLs for the encyclopaedia of info pple have shared so far shared on this Canada Visa. You guys are the best Hi, I didn't use Maple because they seem to only have room and attention for the 'rich'. My medical letter was dated 15days after submission of my application. dipo+: Same here! And they don't get mad if you open the envelope. Infact, they tell you to and ask you to make five copies. |
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada-part2 by bamshy: 10:40pm On Apr 26, 2012 |
bumdish: You can if you want. It's no biggie. It's a medical evaluation form that has your passport photograph attached and stamped. Depending on your choice of clinic, you will be required to make 5 copies of your international passport data page, the medical evaluation form in the envelope and the medical instruction form itself. In addition, you will need to bring along 5 passport photographs and 28k. You will do blood/Urine test for HIV, STDs and STIs and other ailments. In addition you will have your xray done and a doctor to ask you questions about your sight and general health. |

shavel: I am applying to study for postgraduate. But I think with undergraduate, what you want to prove is sufficient funds or access to it. So, you would like to show an account that has reasonable funds and whose source of funds would be constant and convincing to ensure you have access to the funds you need whenever you need them. |

I've got an advice for everyone with pending application with CDHC. Once you have completed your application forms and added complementing documents please try to submit at the VAC (Visa Application Centre). I support submission at the VAC because of the all-week access and ability to get information more readily. For those who have submitted more than 3 weeks, I suggest you make calls and also track your application. I submitted on March 20 and my Medical instruction was dated April 5. Yea, that fast! Unfortunately, I got to know 20 days after! In addition, I was given some conditions to fulfill by CDHC which i needed to meet before 30days! Hence, my advice. Submit at VAC for easy correspondence and start following up once your application is more than 2 weeks old. For medicals, remember you'll need about 5 passport photographs and like 28,000 naira. So, be prepared. Wish us all the best! My additional info was payment of all tuition upfront and letter from employer for PgD. Hope it helps. |

In all our plans, I believe the most important thing is to acknowledge God and believe He will certainly do what's best for us. We should all pray to God and be hopeful that our requests and supplication with be in consonance with His will and as such give us the expected end. God is the Almighty and Supreme Ruler, the earth is His and the fullness thereof. There is nothing too difficult for him even when it concerns the affairs of men. May God mercifully grant our requests and we will not forget to give all glory to Him. Amen! |

2iic: I suspect you need an agent because you need an experienced guide not necessarily the services of someone who calls himself an agent. Also, due to the time constraint in application procedures in Canada, you don't wanna risk "joking" with your first and possibly only chance this year. So, I guess i understand because i felt like that and got an agent. The truth however is, the agent at his/her best would only emphasise what is on the Canadian immigration site and advise you to add relevant documents to your application. This done between $400 and $3,000 depending on whom you hire. While the other side is being duped or engaging a quack which will only establish your fears. The interesting part is AN AGENT QUACK OR ADEPT DOESN'T GUARANTEE STUDY PERMIT/VISAS! |

SimonAndal: This shouldn't be rocket science. Ask your bank plus one or other two for options. You are certainly not the first or only one who would require this service. Your bank must have dealt with it in times past. Try GTBank. |

Fhemmmy: Got the better offer after I applied using the not-so-good. One had better student review than the other. In addition, the course content of the one with the better student review is 'loaded', specialised and contemporary. And by the way, I have chosen the better one. It's just that my application was submitted with the not-so-good offer(hindsight). My choice is in Toronto by the way |

SimonAndal: How do you take your money to CA? Specifically, how do you open an a/c from Nigeria? How do you transfer your money from a Nigerian Bank (eg. GTB)? You can do this easily with Guaranty Trust Bank Plc internet banking platform. All you need is your token and funded dollar domiciliary account and you are good to go! You wanna run things when you are not in Nigeria. GTBank is poised to make it possible. Terms and conditions apply |

Fhemmmy: Thank you for answering my questions. I am yet to pay anything to any of the schools. However, the one with the better offer has asked me to pay by June ending while the first but not-so-good offer requires me to pay by July ending. This in itself is a dilemma on which one i should pay for. Alternatively, I could pay for the two especially if the embassy requires that I pay for the "not-so-good" school i applied it. However, I would lose $1,400 which is said to be non-refundable in their refund policy. Any advice please? |

bamshy: What happens at the airport where you are given your Temporary resident visa? Do you need to provide all the docs you used for the permit? Also, if you have gotten a "better" offer, is presenting that offer instead of the one you used for study permit at the port of entry a bad idea? This was my question Uncle Fhemmmy.... ...Now, i'm waiting for your answer |
