If you aren't coming for Masters (Not that it's superior here), think of a 2-year PGD program and have some good cash on you. I have seen a lot of people who wish those two things were done before coming here. TRV is just the beginning... All the best friends

ekt_bear: Bros i guess I don't understand English then.

Why does the chick want to be facebook friends rather than giving me her #?

Isn't facebook friends more intimate that phone #?

So I have to setup a date via facebook or some crap like that?

Sounds annoying

Simple...'they' take pride in the numbers of facebook friends or subscribers! You were going to be a tool to boost her anaemic self confidence via facebook...lol

Yield: Why do Nigerians say, "I took" instead of "I ate?" You don't "take tea, meat pie and biscuits," you "drink and eat" them. angry angry angry tongue
Because we are Nigerians! You wan chop tea too? lol
Have you ever wondered why a Canadian or British dude can't speak a Nigerian language in its correct syntax...well, it's because of the same reason.

Rapuziaokwu: I got admission with the University of Saskatchewan. Just want to know if the school is a good one.

Well, here i'm not sure there is a school that can be tagged "not good". It's more of what you want to get out of the school. Here teachers teach and help you to learn with lots of assignments, quizzes, lab works and all. The relevant questions may be your interest, course content, duration of studies and funding. All the best!

Fhemmmy:

Are you sure of that statement, Sir . . . Let us make sure we give right information to the people, cos with the current economy, it all depends on where you are . . . All level of government is laying off as well, and remember those being laid off will be out there looking for same job that the students are looking for . . . .
Gone are those days where you just walk into Stores and you are hired, it is not as simple and automatic as you make it sound, sir

Hey Bros, we were expecting to see you at Yonge today. Hope you are doing fine?

lufondu: @lyfe Congratulations! @all if some1 has an admission for a master's, apply for and got trv, on getting to Canada the fella gets a PhD offer from another University mayb 2-3 months within his/her program, can the fella switch immediately or does the fella need to inform immigration? @CodeBrain congratulations, which ever way u re on the right track.
you can only move between schs if it's same level. I.e undergrad in one school to undergrad in anoda. Msc to Msc, Phd to Phd. Anything diff requires immigration and another trv. Cheers

bashtee: @bamshy
can we use email or phone? Because presently I do not have a place to stay on arrival. I need somewhere close to the North campus of Humber college
when are you coming to Toronto? am staying close to North Campus
Thank You bashtee. I plan to come in August. Possibly the last 2 weeks. Can I have your email? I don't mind if you have a vacancy since you are close to North campus. I'll appreciate your quick response. Thank You.

Although it is stated in cdhc website that one does not need study permit for courses less than 6months,but u need to apply for study permit if u have the intention to further yr studies after that one or if u are nurturing the ambition of staying there. This is becos if u go there without study permit,u must comeback after the program is over, even if u want to enter another program,u must comeback to reapply. Therefore,to be safe, apply for study permit for the 15wks program. After u are through,u will be eligible to extend yr study permit in canada or change yr status(depends on whatever yr intentions are).
when you apply for study permit, cdhc knows that u can possibly enter another program. Therefore,u should submit bank statement that is sufficiently run.In yr case, the bank statement will go a long way in revealing how comfortable u are.Make sure that the history of the account is good.
Note:some schools will not admit u without study permit.check with yr school if this is applicable.
I believe this is if you have an offer letter for a program which will commence after your 15wks programme. All points towards your networth!

Fhemmmy:

We can always talk, that is not a problem.
But for your kinda need, i will advice a shared apartment or even a basement apartment (Not too cheap)
can we use email or phone? Because presently I do not have a place to stay on arrival. I need somewhere close to the North campus of Humber college
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada-part2 by bamshy: 8:09pm On May 28, 2012
Only 6months and above require a visa. 15weeks no reach 6 months. Hence, you may have no reason to apply for a study permit.
Travel / Re: Nigerian Students In Canada: How Do You Survive? by bamshy: 5:30pm On May 28, 2012
Fhemmmy:

Personally, i dont think you need it, but such apartment is not too expensive but what will kill the fun is taking 2 buses.
TTC right now is 3$ per trip one way and that is 6$$ both ways, and that assuming that they are both within the Toronto and not that you have to take another regional bus, which will be more expensive.
The time traveled to get to school could be crazy too.
So if you are arriving by 1st week of August, that gives you enough time to get accommodation, however, that being said, for Humber college, it all depends on what campus, cos being in Toronto, might not be too easy to get something close to campus . . .

Thanks Bros. Can you assist in getting accommodation for me? Something cheap and close to campus. We ca
We can work together if it's okay sir. My campus is North campus
Travel / Re: Nigerian Students In Canada: How Do You Survive? by bamshy: 10:26am On May 27, 2012
Hello Fhemmmy, Thank You for your advice and based on it, I plan to arrive first week in August. I believe it's still okay to get nice accommodation close to campus. My next question is that I have an offer of a furnished basement accommodation for $600/mth. However, I was told I'll have to take 2 buses to get to Humber college. Do I go for it or I wait till I arrive for possibilty of something better?

Questions 1 and 2 seem inappropriate here. Question 3: does not have enough information for a sound response. However, I think your status may be presumed to have changed since your last application & may be subjected to same scrutiny of a fresh application while keeping in mind your earlier reason for refusal. I'd say be patient and hopeful. With God and better preparation this time, Your dreams will come true.
