Pelé describes Messi as best
player of last ten years

Three-time World Cup winner Pelé has spoken out
about his admiration for Barça’s Leo Messi, a man
who is posing a serious threat to the Brazilian’s
position as the greatest player ever to grace the
game. While at a conference in New Delhi, he was
asked to comment on the respective merits of the
Argentinian and Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo.

“It's very difficult to make a comparison of players of
different generations” he is quoted as saying in The
Indian Express. “But in the last 10 years Messi was
the best. Ronaldo plays forward and tries to score,
while Messi plays with a different style. In my team I
would love to have both.”

But there is another Barça player that the former
Santos star feels could be heading for all-time great
status, and it’s one of Pelé’s compatriots. “We have
Neymar who also has a good future” he commented.
Last September 25 in London, O Rei spoke about
how the current Barça team “plays with the same
style as Brazil in my day” and revealed how much he
would have enjoyed playing in the same side as
Messi and Neymar.

Pelé at Camp Nou
Pelé never wore the Barça shirt, but did appear at
the Camp Nou in the Joan Gamper match of 1963.
His Santos team lost 2-0 that day, the goals scored by
Pereda and Zaballa, with the media surrounding the
18-year-old from the moment he arrived at the
airport.

Neymar: 'I want to keep
making history in Barcelona'

FC Barcelona star Neymar
recently reached 100 official
appearances with FC Barcelona. To celebrate the
milestone, he recently sat down to give an exclusive
interview to fcbarcelona.com in which he
emphasizes, among other things, his feelings since
joining the team and his short and long term
objectives with the Club.

"My adaptation to the team has come quite easily. I
did get a lot of help — from the Club, my
teammates, the city, my family..." At just 23 years of
age, Neymar is already one of the team's leaders.
Now in his third season, the Brazilian striker has one
clear goal: "I want to continue making history in
Barcelona; I want to win more titles."

From his own perspective, Neymar explains that he
has to keep getting better while helping his
teammates to continue winning the maximum
number of titles possible. After a "difficult first
season due to injuries and a league title that was lost
in the final game of the season," he bounced back
with a fantastic second year. "We had a great season
winning the treble, and this [season] is more difficult.
We have to do more than we have been to beat our
opponents," he said.

Neymar came to Barcelona three summers ago as
one of the most promising young players in the
world. Now, he says, he's a different player.

"I changed my game and my life, both for the better.
The city helps me a lot and I'm very happy."

One thing that has helped, surely, is his relationship
with Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez. "I think we
surprised people. Some said we wouldn't get along
well, but I knew they were wrong."

FC Barcelona to give 'full
support' to Leo Messi

After the announcement that the State Attorney
intends to accuse Lionel Messi of three cases of tax
fraud between 2007 and 2009, demanding a 22
month jail sentence, FC Barcelona declares the
following:

1.- The Club expresses its surprise at the difference
in criteria between the Public Prosecutors, which on
September 25 decided not to accuse Lionel Messi of
tax fraud, and the verdict expressed today by the
State Attorney, which states the complete opposite.

2.- FC Barcelona has expressed its affection and
solidarity to Leo Messi and his family in such a
peculiar situation. The Club shall continue to offer
him and his family its full support and assistance in
the legal, fiscal and administrative aspects of these
proceedings.

3.- FC Barcelona decries the accumulation of totally
inadmissible and external decisions that have been
going on for some time, and that have nothing to
with strictly sporting affairs. They are damaging to
the good operations of the Club, its stability and also
that of the athletes that form part of it. The Club
shall be working with more determination than ever
to defend its legitimate rights and is ready for any
new challenges that might arise.

Benediict:
Hello Fellow Cule! What can you give to God to merit salvation? that's right, nothing! you cannot go to church enough, or pay tithes and offerings enough to be saved.

The Bible says in Ephesians 2:8 'it is by Grace we're saved. . .' and this same Grace of salvation is open to any one that has real faith in Jesus Christ. Yes friend, Even you! No matter how deep you may have Gone into sin, no Matter how many mistakes you may have made, God's arm is still wide open because he's in love with you! . . . . ..

Romans 8:9 says . . . . .'God demonstrates his own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us' . . . .The punishment for your sins has been paid for by the precious blood of Jesus Christ!! isn't that Great?
Your sins haave been taken away, you'll be made free by simply believing in the finished work of Christ for you.

Finally friend, if you wish to recieve this free gift of salvation simply say this prayer:
HEAVENLY FATHER I COME TO YOU IN THE NAME OF Jesus. YOU SAID IN YOUR WORD THAT WHOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED. THEREFORE, I CALL UPON Jesus AND CONFESS HIM AS MY LORD. I ALSO BELIEVE YOU RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD TO JUSTIFY ME. I RECIEVE ETERNAL LIFE INTO MY SPIRIT. . . . IN Jesus NAME. AMEN!
Really? On a sports thread?

Sergi Roberto is savouring
the moment

In an interview with local
Catalan radio station RAC1,
Sergi Roberto sat down to talk about current events
surrounding the team, while also highlighting his own
new situation in this year's team.
"I'm having a good season and feeling really good on
the field," Roberto said.
The Reus-born product has become Luis Enrique's
sixth most-used player and has accumulated heaps of
minutes as a wing-back, a position he hasn't played in
a few years.
"I feel very comfortable at wing-back because I can
dribble more ... I never really planned to play there
but I've been trying to do my best and it's gone well."

Efficiency and goals against
It hasn't been a normal start to the season for the
team with regard to goals scored and goals against.
For Sergi Roberto, the fact that the team isn't scoring
"isn't worrying, because we're creating a lot of
chances. We are just having some bad luck."
Defensively, though, he believes there are "things
that need to be polished up. We have to try to be
stronger defensively."
Roberto also touched on the rash of injuries that has
hit the team in the early going.
"Injuries are always bad news for a team," he said,
while expressing confidence that the number of
quality players the team has should help to turn
things around.
Sergi Roberto was also asked about his possible
transfer last summer and acknowledged that it was
something that went through his head.
"When you think you're doing good work and the
minutes don't come, you start to think about
leaving."
But, in the end, he stayed, a decision that he believes
was the correct one.
"It's turned out very well," he admitted.

Lionel Messi to stand trial for tax fraud
in Spain

Argentina and Barcelona footballer Lionel Messi
and his father should stand trial on tax fraud
charges, a court in Spain has ruled.
The judge in charge of the case rejected the request
by prosecutors to drop the charges against the
striker.
Messi and his father Jorge are accused of defrauding
Spain of more than €4m (£3.1m; $5m). They deny
any wrongdoing.
Lawyers acting on behalf of the tax authorities
demanded 22-month jail sentences for both
defendants.
Prosecutors allege that Jorge avoided paying tax on
his son's earnings by using offshore companies in
Belize and Uruguay in 2007-09.
Messi's lawyers had argued that the player had
"never devoted a minute of his life to reading,
studying or analysing" the contracts, El Pais
newspaper reported earlier.

'Corrective payment'
"There are rational signs that the criminality was
committed by both accused parties," wrote the judge
in a court filing, according to the AFP news agency.
No date has been set for the trial of the 28-year-old
footballer - the four-time World Player of the Year
and one of the richest athletes in the world.
In June, the high court in Barcelona ruled that Messi
should not be granted immunity for not knowing
what was happening with his finances, which were
being managed in part by his father.
The income related to Messi's image rights, including
contracts with Banco Sabadell, Danone, Adidas, Pepsi-
Cola, Procter and Gamble, and the Kuwait Food
Company.
Messi and his father made a voluntary €5m
"corrective payment" - equal to the alleged unpaid
tax plus interest - in August 2013.

Ivan Rakitic named Croatia's
best player for 2015

FC Barcelona and Croatia
national team midfielder
Ivan Rakitic received the award for best Croatian
player of 2015 according to the Zagreb-based daily
newspaper Vecernji List. The decision to name Rakitic
this year's winner was based on his contributions to
both Barça and the national team, as well as his
influence during the Club's treble-winning season.
It is the first time that Rakitic has won the award.
Other internationally renowned players to have taken
home the honours in previous years include Davor
Suker, Luka Modric and Mario Mandzukic. Rakitic is
the second Barça player to have been chosen as the
best player in Croatia. Former midfielder Robert
Prosinecki won it in 1997.

Camp Nou in the post-
apocalyptic ‘Second Origin’

The sight of Camp Nou in ruins is not something
Barça fans would not normally be interested in.
However, on Tuesday 6 October blaugrana members
and fans will be queuing up to see precisely that,
Barça’s stadium half destroyed. Fortunately, this
nightmare scenario for football fans is a product of
the imagination of Carles Porta, producer,
scriptwriter and director of the film ‘Second Origin’,
which has an exclusive premiere of the Phenomena
cinema in Barcelona for Barça members. The video
above gives fans a glimpse into the post production
process whilst the clip below is the official trailer.
The movie is an adaptation of the 1974 Catalan
literary classic ‘El mecanoscrit del segon origen’ by
Manuel de Pedrolo. The Catalan production company
Antàrtica Produccions is behind the film and Porta
took over the reins as director following the death of
critically acclaimed cineaste Bigas Luna who died
during production in April 2013.
The film is set in a post-apocalyptic Catalonia with
Barcelona appearing at key moments such as the
spectacular and shocking image of Camp Nou as no
Barça fan would ever want to see it.
‘Second Origin’ will go on general release in Spain
with international distribution still to be confirmed.

I like the pitch, being close to the football, what
happens in the game itself. I'm going to learn the
trade – I've already started my education here at the
Aspire Academy. I'm following Spanish football from
over here while I'm still playing, and I'm really
enjoying myself. After that, I don't know what the
future will hold for me, but of course I'd love to
return to Barça one day. That's my aim and the closer
it is to the pitch, the better.

Really frustrating game yesterday. I was surprised cos we had a very good 1st half and should have won the game, plus that neymar chance really looked like it crossed the line. I think it's time la liga get goal-line tech. Its gonn be harder winning away fixtures at this rate without messi. The international break couldn't have come at a more perfect time. Hope the madrid derby ends in a draw as that will favor us massively. Visca barca cool

Luis Enrique surprised at
lack of goals

"It was a game in which we
had a lot of chances. It's
almost unbelievable that we walk out of here with
just one goal," said FC Barcelona head coach Luis
Enrique at his post-game press conference following
his team's 2–1 upset loss to Sevilla. The Barca coach
chalked the defeat up to "ten minutes in the second
half that hurt us." Sevilla, he lamented, "took
advantage of the chances they had."
"You have to congratulate Sevilla on their effort and
the final result," Luis Enrique continued, explaining
that his team had plenty of chances on the counter
due to the way the game played out. Nevertheless,
he said, "Our game is about controlling play." When
asked about chances created, the coach said, "We
don't have the best numbers but I'm sure that'll
change in the coming games."
It's pretty obvious that Barça performed far better
the last time the two sides met, in August in the
UEFA Super Cup. But, Luis Enrique said, this game
was a very attractive matchup between two teams
who "play to win and get the maximum number of
points."
