BARCELONA HAVE THEIR BADGE
STOLEN... BUT NOT FOR LONG!

Romanian outfit Otelul Galati insist it was a
mistake using the Catalan club's famous
crest but will now revert to their old logo
after they were threatened with legal action

Some teams will do anything to replicate
Barcelona's success. Whether it's mimicking their
tactics or splashing cash to sign the best players,
few have been able to manage to reach the
Catalans' level.
But Romanian outfit Otelul Galati thought they
had found the way to turn their players into
Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta, only for Barca to
hear about their scheme and bring it to an abrupt
end.
Having played in the Champions League group
stages during the 2011-12 season, Otelul have
struggled in recent years and currently find
themselves in the Second Division.
But in a bid to reverse their poor form, the club
chose to create a new logo that bears
resemblance to that of Barcelona's.
Unfortunately for them, after two years of
wearing the crest on their shirt, Barca have got
wind of the situation and threatened legal action
should the club not change it.
"Barcelona are right," sporting director Cristian
Munteanu said. "The club logo is identical to that
of Barcelona. It was a mistake, a copy-paste, so
we will change the logo.
"I wanted to change it anyway as supporters were
not happy with the the new logo. We will return
to our old logo which we played with in the
Champions League and won the championship and
Super Cup.
"We are obliged to Barcelona [to change the logo
because] we received notice from Barcelona.
Someone from Barcelona saw the logo and they
sent us a notice."
But was it really all that bad? Surely it couldn't
have been that similar? Oh...

It's worrying TBH but I think it will be a bad idea if Messi is taken off penalty duties. It will down his morale and spoil the sweet relationship between our magnificent MSN trio. Messi is mature enough to allow Neymar take some penalties, he did it last season when Neymar was going through a rough patch in front of goal

Great win yesterday though scary first half. We must not relent as madrid seem to be really firing. I like the way the coach rotates the team to keep players fresh, it will really help with our thin squad. Pique should be back for the celta game

Luis Enrique's squad will get right back to work on
Monday morning to begin preparing for their next
next, which comes on Wednesday at Celta. Kick-off is

Defender Marc Bartra, the first scorer of the night

Claudio Bravo, who has been out injured since the
game with Málaga, appeared at a promotional event
in Barcelona on Thursday. The Chilean used the
occasion to speak to the press, explaining that “I’m
feeling comfortable. I’m fine and looking forward to
training normally again.”
“My career has not been affected by any serious
injuries and that’s a good thing” he continued. “But I
need to stay calm because it’s important to make
sure that you make a proper recovery, especially
when you play in a position like mine.”
Following the game with Roma on Wednesday,
Rafinha’s name is now on the injury list along with
that of the Barça goalkeeper. “I’ve been injured for a
few days so I know how tough it can feel” said Bravo.
“Injuries are very dark periods for any footballer.”

“It is much easier to see things from outside, but the
panorama is very different out there on the pitch. It
was a clear penalty but you have to think about the
tension the referee was facing. That was the kind of
thing that can get given in any game, but you have to
put yourself in the referee’s skin”.


On objectives
“Winning the Champions League two times in a row is
quite a challenge. But there are the other
competitions to think about too. We have to take
things step by step”.
“It won’t be easy to win the treble again but it can be
done. Last year, the squad was united and we
managed to achieve things that are by no means
easy”.


On his role at Barça
“It is very hard to forget Valdés. When I was playing
for Real Sociedad it was never easy to play against
Barça. And now here I am in a very special goal and
it’s a difficult challenge. We should remember Valdés.
He had a great career here and won everything. He is
a goalkeeper that should always be remembered”.


On Leo Messi
“It’s fantastic to have Messi as a team-mate. He is a
very special player on the pitch and it’s very
important for all of us to have him in the team”.

FIFA announces schedule for
Club World Cup semi-final


The governing body of world football, FIFA, has
formally announced the schedule of matches for the
Club World Cup Japan 2015. FC Barcelona will be
taking part as winners of the 2015 UEFA Champions
League. Luis Enrique's team will play the second
semi-final of the tournament on 17 December at
11.30am Central European Time (CET). The match will
be played at the International Stadium Yokohama,
the same place where Barça won the 2011 FIFA Club
World Cup title after beating Santos of Brazil 4–0.
Barça's opponent in the semi-final has yet to be
determined. A club team from the host nation,
Japan, receives an automatic berth into a play-off for
the quarter-finals. That team — the winner of the
Japanese First Division — will be announced on 5
December and will face Auckland City of the
Oceania Football Confederation for a spot in the
quarter-finals.
Two other confederations with direct slots in the
quarter-finals — from Asia and Africa — will have
their representatives announced in November
following their respective Champions Leagues. The
only club currently confirmed for the quarter-finals is
Club América of Mexico, which will be representing
CONCACAF.

The two quarter-final survivors will be paired with FC
Barcelona and River Plate of Argentina, who, as
winners of CONMEBOL's Copa Libertadores, earned
a berth straight into the semis as well.

Last season's UEFA Champions League success is
already in the past. In 2016, we want to be lifting that
