Once considered the laggards of the auto industry and largely limited to the smallest “econobox” cars, four-cylinder engines have come a long way in recent years and for the first time, they lead the business in terms of market share. According to the latest Market Trends and Loyalty report issued by Experian Automotive, 37.7% of all new light-duty vehicles sold in the U.S. through the first nine months of 2016 came fitted with four-cylinder engines. That’s up from 30.4% of the market in 2010 and just 7% back in 1975. While four-cylinder engines and are being used more extensively to help automakers meet increasingly strict federal fuel economy goals, thanks to the latest engine designs smaller doesn’t necessarily mean slower. In fact, today’s four-cylinder engines are nearly as powerful as were eight-cylinder engines 20 years ago. According to Experian data the average four-cylinder engine now produces 168 horsepower, versus a mere 115 horsepower back in 1998; that’s when the average V8 engine netted 188 horses – today it’s a far more substantial 368 horsepower. VIEW MORE===>>> http://baress.com.ng/2016/12/27/four-cylinder-engines-are-now-driving-new-vehicle-sales/

Commercial vehicles are the Rodney Dangerfield of the auto business. They quietly make up for a lot of the revenue and for even more of the profits of many a car company, but they don’t get no respect. In the media, they are rarely ever mentioned. Today, Toyota did set out to change that, and it launched a new version of its best-selling small bus, the Coaster. At the world’s largest carmaker, “commercial vehicles were not always at the forefront of our priorities,” said this Tokyo afternoon Keiji Masui, President of Toyota’s new CV Company. “Our vehicles were not always subject to timely product enhancements.” That’s the beauty of the CV business. The companies that buy these vehicles want them to work, to last, and to bring in a good return on investment. Frequent model changes are not desired. Automakers can sell them long after their development costs have been amortized. Can you tell the model year when you step on a bus? Did I mention that commercial vehicles are great business? Masui’s CV Company is responsible for nearly one third of Toyota’s 10 million cars sold annually. A new Coaster can be bought for the price nicely appointed a BMW 5 Series, but customers often pay three times as much, we heard today, for special equipment, for leasing, maintenance programs and other services. An OEM with a well-greased value chain can make a lot of money out of these things. The making of headlines will be left to the sports cars. VIEW MORE==>> http://baress.com.ng/2016/12/23/24-years-later-toyota-launches-a-new-coaster/

We all know that eating a healthy diet is essential for our physical health. It’s equally important for our brain’s health. The brain is a complex and powerful organic machine that requires nutrients to function properly, just like your heart, lungs, eyes or muscles. The brain controls all thought, movement and sensation, while calculating and reacting with blistering speed. It is a storehouse of innumerable data. Plus, the brain regulates the functions of other body organs without taking a break. For the brain to work continuously and remain in good condition, it relies on a steady supply of essential nutrients from our diet, blood sugar and oxygen. Through a well-balanced diet, you can easily provide your brain with all the necessary nutrients to enjoy better memory, sharpened reflexes and a better attention span. Also, it will help ward off mental illnesses like Alzheimer’s, dementia and more. There are many superfoods that you can easily include in your daily diet to strengthen your brain and enhance your mental performance. Green Tea: The latest studies show that green tea helps the brain function properly. Researchers concluded that green tea extract increases the brain’s electrical connectivity, which in turn enhances cognitive functions and helps treat dementia. Plus, it has been found that those who drink green tea have better memory, focus, and concentration compared to those who do not drink tea. Also, people who drink tea each day are less likely to develop Parkinson’s disease. Drink two to three cups of freshly brewed green tea – hot or iced – to boost brain power. Tomatoes: You can’t ignore the memory-boosting power of tomatoes. Lycopene, a powerful antioxidant present in tomatoes, protects against free radical damage to cells that contributes to dementia, especially Alzheimer’s. Plus, those who consume lycopene on a daily basis enjoy sharper memories compared to those who do not. Also, tomatoes can help protect your brain against strokes. Dark chocolate: The list of foods that is good for the brain would be incomplete without dark chocolate. Antioxidant-rich dark chocolate is healthy for your whole body as well as your brain. The caffeine content in dark chocolate plays a key role in maintaining mental acuity. Plus, dark chocolate is rich in flavonoids that help improve blood flow to the brain. A study found that dark chocolate improves concentration, response time and recall. So, add a little piece of dark chocolate to your daily diet plan to boost brain power. Along with dark chocolate, milk chocolate and white chocolate are also good for the brain. Eggs: Eggs, more specifically the yolks, are a leading source of choline. Choline is a precursor for acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter involved in helping you remember things like where you left the car keys. Eating protein-rich foods like eggs for breakfast can improve overall cognitive performance. Oats: The primary fuel for your brain is glucose, which comes from carbohydrates such as those abundant in oats. Since your body breaks down the carbs in whole-grain oats very slowly, they help keep you sharp for several hours. Coconut: Coconut has gained the reputation of being one of the best fuels to enhance healthy brain function due to it being a rich source of medium chain triglycerides (MCT). MCT go straight to your liver to be processed into ketones, and then sent to the brain to be used for fuel. By providing a stable fuel supply, coconut is considered to be great fuel for your brain and supporting your brain’s learning capabilities and memory retention. READ MORE=====>>>> http://baress.com.ng/2016/12/13/must-read-top-superfoods-to-boost-your-brain-power/

Google’s self-driving car group, which helped ignite a race among automakers and tech firms to develop cars that drive themselves, is spinning off as a stand-alone unit dubbed Waymo. “We’re now an independent company within the Alphabet umbrella,” John Krafcik, chief executive of the new company, said at a press conference in San Francisco today. “It’s an indication of the maturity of our technology.” *Krafcik, a veteran automotive executive with decades of experience at Ford and Hyundai Motor, was recruited to help the R& project within Google’s X tech skunkworks transition to being a revenue-generating business in September 2015. Chris Urmson, a robotics scientist who’d previously led the program for Google for six years, departed earlier this year. While Google was an early leader in popularizing the concept of vehicles driven by artificial intelligence rather than a human, it now faces intense competition to commercialize the technology. Uber, the ride-hailing giant, this year acquired robot trucking technology developer Otto, a company begun by Google alumni, and has set a goal of getting autonomous vehicles into its fleet as soon as possible. Likewise, Elon Musk is pushing Tesla Motors to be a leader in driverless car technology and has begun equipping all of its electric vehicles with sensors and computing power intended to automate control of driving functions. Google is currently equipping a fleet of 100 hybrid Chrysler minivans with its sensors and computing gear that will soon join its nearly 60 prototype autonomous vehicles. The company hasn’t yet disclosed when and how it will begin generating revenue from its efforts and Krafcik declined to discuss specific business plans today. “We are a self-driving technology company. We’ve been really clear that we are not a car company,” Krafcik said. “We are not in the business making better cars, we are in the business of making better drivers.” VIEW MORE=====>>>>>> http://baress.com.ng/2016/12/13/googles-spins-off-self-driving-car-unit-as-waymo/

The Nissan Rogue is one of the most important vehicles in Nissan’s expanding lineup — the compact SUV may outsell the Altima sedan this year and capture the crown for Nissan’s top selling vehicle. Even so, the Rogue is starting to show its age as new competitors such as the completely redesigned Honda CR-V enter the stage. Rather than sit idle, Nissan has introduced a groundbreaking new variant — the 2017 Rogue Hybrid. The fuel efficient gasoline-electric model may be the key change for the next couple years in terms of gathering incremental sales. We know from Kelley Blue Book data that MPG isn’t as important to consumers as it was when gas prices were high, especially as vehicle MPG overall continues to improve. However, consumers are still very mindful of fuel efficiency, and many see value in hybrid technologies when they deem it cost effective. For the first time, how well headlights help drivers avoid hazards figures into the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (I.I.H.S.) Top Safety Pick+ award. For the 2017 picks, it means that only 38 models get the coveted, highest Top Safety Pick+ label, compared to 48 last year. The reduction isn’t surprising given the fact that headlights performed pretty dismally in tests that the I.I.H.S., which is funded by the insurance industry, conducted earlier this year of three different vehicle segments. That raises questions: Why aren’t headlights better at a time when automakers are loading vehicles with all sorts of sophisticated safety equipment including automatic emergency braking? Why, with advancements such as HID and LED headlights and headlights that swivel in curves, are so few vehicles getting the highest marks on this new test? The main reason is that “no one has previously tested how they perform when they are actually on a vehicle, while they are driving on the road,” said Matthew Brumbelow, I.I.H.S. senior research engineer. “That’s what we are doing and we are identifying weaknesses in the process. Some manufacturers have realized they haven’t been doing a good job of aiming and they’ve gone back and changed aim at the factory and their performance is improving. Others are realizing the cheaper halogen reflector headlight just doesn’t give enough light on the side of the road or even on a straightaway.” In the just-released awards, Toyota (including its Lexus division) led automakers with nine Top Safety Pick+ models; Honda (including its Acura division) was next with five. The next highest award, Top Safety Pick, was won by 44 models. And it is the headlight ratings that set the two awards apart. The Insurance Institute released its first headlight ratings of 31 midsize cars in March. Only the 2016 Toyota Prius v earned the top rating of “Good” for how far headlights would allow a driver to see down the road on straightaways and in curves and for how much glare they directed at oncoming drivers. The organization, which is funded by the insurance industry, rates headlights on a scale of Good, Acceptable, Marginal and Poor. In July, none of the 21 small sport-utility vehicles tested got a Good rating. And in October, when I wrote about results for 11 small and large pickup trucks, only the Honda Ridgeline, was available with headlights rated Good. While it takes federal safety regulators years, literally, to adopt safety standards that require automakers to improve safety features, in short order, automakers including Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru and Toyota made changes to improve headlight performance on the road and to get the I.I.H.S. stamp of approval. To get either award, vehicles must earn Good ratings in the small and moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. They must also get an Advanced or Superior rating for front crash prevention with either standard or optional automatic braking. To get the highest Top Safety Pick+ award, headlights count and a model must be available with one headlight design that is rated Good or Acceptable. The Prius v, for example, gets the Good rating for the model that is equipped with LED lights and high-beam assist, which are available only on the highest trim level. However, since a model can come with a variety of headlight designs, that model can have one headlight design that performs well and one that performs poorly. The Prius v, when equipped with regular halogen lights and without high-beam assist, gets a Poor rating. The practical difference is this: Its Good-rated LED low beams should give a driver traveling straight at 70 mph enough time to see an obstacle on the right side of the road and brake to a stop. Someone with the halogen lights would have to drive 50 mph, according to I.I.H.S. It is reflectors that seem to pose the biggest problem in headlight performance. In the simplest terms, Brumbelow said, headlights have two components. One is the light source, a bulb. These can be halogen, high-intensity discharge (HID) sometimes called Xenon, or light-emitting diodes (LED). The second component is the optics, which can be either reflectors or projectors. These are what put the light down the road. With reflectors, a bulb shines backwards toward multiple reflecting surfaces (think of each one as a separate mirror), which then bounce the light forward in discrete segments, resulting in some sections of road being brighter or dimmer than others. Projectors shine the light from a bulb forward using a projector-type lens. By not having to reflect light in discrete segments, the light beam is spread out in a wider and more uniform pattern. The combination most of us are familiar with is a headlight with a halogen bulb and a reflector. They are cheap to make and replace and have tended to do the worst in the testing, Brumbelow said. HIDs and LEDs can be paired with reflectors as well; they don’t do well in the ratings either. When paired with projector-type lamps, some halogen bulbs have gotten an Acceptable rating, Brumbelow said. None, however, have been rated Good. Those that have done best in the ratings use either HID or LED bulbs with projector-type lenses, he said. Some automakers such as Subaru and Nissan are making changes by replacing designs that use reflectors with those that use projectors. On the 2017 Forester, Subaru has replaced the previous HID reflectors with LED projectors. The base headlights are still halogen reflectors. Nissan made a change to the Rogue’s high beams. The old design used LED reflectors; the new design has LED projectors. However, more expensive headlights don’t mean those headlights will necessary perform better. Unfortunately, it’s more complicated. “We’ve had some cases where the more expensive headlight is actually rated worse than the cheaper one,” Brumbelow said, either because it may not be aimed well or it may use the reflector design. Right now, you may be scratching your head or screaming: Doesn’t the government have rules about this?! The answer is: Yes, but. The “yes” is that Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 governs headlights. The “but” is that the standard addresses aiming the headlight when it is tested separate from a vehicle. It does not require a specific aiming angle once that headlight is installed on a vehicle. So it’s a matter of headlights being tested separate from a vehicle in a laboratory and not as part of a vehicle operating on real-world roads. From Brumbelow’s viewpoint: “The whole standard kind of falls apart when you don’t require an aiming angle when you put the headlight on the vehicle.” Aim is critical in determining how well the headlights illuminate the road as well as limit glare. And Subaru and Toyota are two automakers that are making changes to headlight aim. Toyota is making changes to make its aim more accurate when vehicles come off its assembly lines based on the performance results of the I.I.H.S. tests. It modified the tire holder on the flat metallic pad, on which the vehicle sits while the headlights are being aimed, said Michael Hong, who is manager of Body Design Functional – Lighting at Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. “We found we could enhance it so that the vehicle could be more accurately positioned in the center, or nominal, location relative to the aiming equipment. If it’s not in the center, that’s what allows that aiming variation to occur that we see in the I.I.H.S. reports.” If headlights are aimed lower than the nominal position, which is part of the federal standard, the amount of light hitting the road surface is reduced, which reduces visibility because the lights don’t shine down the road as far as they could. If they are aimed higher, the light points up off the road and increases glare to oncoming drivers, he said. However, what consumers may not understand, Hong said, is that it’s sometimes difficult to get the most accurate aim because aim is affected by a vehicle’s pitch. “When the vehicle is loaded differently, or there are more passengers or weight in the vehicle, that pitches the vehicle differently than the nominal position when it was made in the factory,” he said. Which is also why, he thinks, it would be such a difficult task for the federal government to regulate the aim of headlights once they are on a vehicle. Although the government doesn’t have requirements for aiming headlights on a vehicle, the Society of Automotive Engineers (S.A.E.) has a recommended range for aim, which is +/- 0.76 degrees. Toyota’s range is tighter than that, Hong said. But the I.I.H.S. test promotes even tighter aiming control than the S.A.E.’s recommendation, he said, “and we wanted to reduce that range even further from what S.A.E. was recommending.” On the Toyota assembly line, headlights have to be within Toyota’s allowable range for headlight aim to get a “pass” and the vehicle can move on to the next station, Hong said. Toyota was able to reduce that range, which greatly reduced variation in headlight aim. “Getting aim right isn’t easy,” said Michael Flannagan, research associate professor in the University of Michigan’s Transportation Research Institute in an e-mail. “Being off by a tenth of a degree can matter. It really is hard and I expect many people, even in the vehicle world, don’t realize that; and that’s part of the reason the I.I.H.S. results may seem surprising.” SEE VIDEO AND MORE >>>>>>> http://baress.com.ng/2016/12/09/are-automakers-improving-headlights-that-havent-performed-well-video/

It’s a shame that the New Jersey Turnpike won’t allow 180 mile-per-hour cruising speeds. If it did, I’d have the aluminum accelerator pedal of the Bentley buried into its deep pile carpet. Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe, and even appears first on the Periodic Table. But as a vehicle fuel, it’s pretty scarce. No automaker has worked harder than Toyota to change that, promoting it as the emission-free fuel of the future with its Mirai sedan that’s sold in Japan and in some U.S. markets. Now the world’s largest automaker is planning to scale the fuel-cell technology used in its mid-size Mirai to power heavy commercial trucks. In a statement Tuesday, Toyota said it’s preparing to test a large-scale hydrogen powertrain in a semi-trailer truck in a feasibility study in California. It’s not easy being Mazda as we head into 2017. As the automotive world begins what may be an inexorable shift from driving to riding in on-demand, autonomous, electric vehicles, the Mazda ethos that “driving matters” is increasingly coming under pressure. In the same week that the Chevrolet Bolt EV was named Motor Trend car of the year and Jaguar introduced its first battery-powered vehicle, Mazda is launching a diesel-powered second-generation CX-5 crossover. The night before the main media preview days of the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show kicked off, Mazda revealed the new CX-5 in a Hollywood sound-stage in a presentation that focused almost entirely on design. Mazda North America president Masahiro Moro kicked off the show with a declaration that “Mazda’s are not commodities and never will be.” For decades, Mazda vehicles have stood apart from most other Japanese brands with a sense of style and driving dynamics that were typically a cut above the class. In the 8 years since Ford sold its stake in Mazda, the Japanese brand has redoubled its efforts to produce both more compelling designs while also focusing on engineering fundamentals like reducing weight and creating more efficient powertrains. The effort has been largely successful to date and the new CX-5 takes elements seen earlier this year on the larger CX-9 and ramps it up with a more dynamic look in keeping with the smaller vehicle. It’s hard to believe that a brand as successful as Subaru would have a hard time developing a legitimate SUV, but it is taking the company until early 2018 to introduce just its second whack at it. The Japanese automaker, which has maintained an impressive growth curve for a decade, even through the economic collapse of 2008 and 2009, showed off a seven-seat SUV at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week, the Viziv-7 Concept, that will be a step up from Subaru’s brisk-selling Outback and Forester crossovers. Subaru of America is trying to make up for a previous attempt at a premium SUV, the B9 Tribeca, which was a fairly spectacular failure from the time it was launched in 2005 and ultimately pulled from the market in 2014. The cost of failure was so much that Subaru’s U.S. division had a difficult time convincing parent company Fuji Heavy Industries to give them another chance despite the sales surge in crossovers and SUVs, and the expectation that the right product could add perhaps 75,000 sales a year to Subaru’s totals within a couple of years. The vehicle that will be based on the Viziv concept will be manufactured at Subaru’s plant in Lafayette Indiana, and be built on a new engineering architecture that will underpin all of Subaru’s vehicles. The new seven-seater has sharp creases in the sheet-metal and an aggressive front end. In this way, the Viziv is chasing more style to sell the vehicle than Subaru has in the past with the Outback, which has tended to be seen as the “sensible-shoe” of the crossover category. It’s competitors will be Toyota Highlander, Ford Explorer, Chevy Traverse and possibly the Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Tribeca was criticized and unpopular for being too small and for questionable styling in the front end. It was built off the same vehicle platform as the Outback, and was not properly planned for a third row of seating. The Viziv, on the other hand, is longer, wider and higher than the Tribeca, with a length of 204.7 inches vs. 192 inches. It is 79.9 inches wide, an increase of nearly 6 inches compared with Tribeca. With a height of 72 inches, it is 4 inches taller than the Tribeca. “The concept expresses our core brand values: safety, dependability, capability for outdoor activities and a forward-looking attitude,” said Takeshi Tachimori, executive vice president of parent company Fuji Heavy Industries. “We know customers in this segment want a full-sized vehicle, and the next three-row from Subaru will be the biggest Subaru vehicle ever.” There is, indeed, evidence that Fuji Heavy and Subaru designers have gotten this design correct for their customers and the market. Earlier this year. AutoPacific reported that each of Subaru’s crossovers won their segment in the firm’s annual Ideal Vehicle Awards, which is based on customer responses to surveys. Subaru’s Outback, Forester, and Crosstrek each won top honors. “By asking vehicle owners if they would change various aspects of their vehicle if given the opportunity, we not only identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement, but we also find out which manufacturers are truly hitting the mark with owners,” explains George Peterson, president of AutoPacific. Clearly Subaru has broken the code since the Tribeca fiasco. Subaru has achieved remarkable growth in recent years, hitting 583,000 vehicles sold in 2015, compared with 187,000 in 2007. Subaru’s continued growth depends on getting its crossover designs right, and continuing the kind of marketing – “Love. It’s what makes a Subaru, a Subaru – that seems to resonate with buyers. Crossovers/SUVs surpassed sedans in 2015, and will again this year. That trend is expected to continue over the next decade. “Subaru is literally hitting on all cylinders,” says Los Angeles-based marketing consultant Dennis Keene. “The brand has gotten design and marketing completely right for a decade, which is very rare, plus it has excellent safety and third-party endorsements…it’s biggest challenge is keeping quality at a high enough level to satisfy what is a very educated group of buyers.” No one will know if the SUV Subaru launches in 2018 will be a success until it actually hits showrooms. But given Subaru’s winning streak, it will be the story of the decade in the auto industry if it misses with its second attempt to design a vehicle acceptable to families with more than two kids. |

Hardcore and Mercedes-Benz in the same sentence? That’s the magic of the Black Series badge. When thinking of well made, comfortable, elegant luxury two-doors, Mercedes-Benz is often the first car maker that comes to mind. Lately, it’s been on top of the game with the S-Class Coupe, providing an experience comparable only to the Bentleys and Rolls-Royces of the world. Despite the company’s success in the luxury sector, Mercedes puts out some bonkers performance cars every once in a while, under the “Black Series” Marque. One of those is the CLK63 AMG Black Series. Compared to the regular CLK, it has an extremely hardcore chassis setup, and a real monster of an engine. With 500 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, the naturally 6.2-liter V8 rockets the coupe to 60 in a scant four seconds. The CLK’s standard back seats are gone, and several carbon-fiber trim pieces are used to save weight. Aggressively flared arches are wide enough to hold the 19-inch forged alloy wheels, giving a much more focused look to the otherwise-tame CLK coupe. In recent years, the value of the CLK63 Black Series has shot up, with enthusiasts realizing just how special they are to drive. The owner of this car featured in this latest One Takebought the car partially as an investment, and drives it sparingly to keep the value up. Matt Farah of The Smoking Tire shows us what it’s like to wheel this future classic Merc, and, of course, gives us the chance to hear that legendary V8 roar. VIEW MORE>>> http://baress.com.ng/2016/11/11/heres-what-its-like-to-drive-the-hardcore-mercedes-benz-clk63-amg-black-series/

The new Bentley Mulsanne model range further refines the British marque’s flagship sedan and extends its distinctive driving line with two luxurious variants. Each comes with enhanced onboard technology and debonair detailing designed with aristocracy in mind. AdTech Ad The suave sedan distinguishes itself from previous editions in both performance and appearance. Completely new chassis components (including active engine mounts and suspension bushes) and an air suspension system with Continuous Damping Control (which adjusts based on speed to maximize stability) provide a ride experience unequalled by predecessors. Comfort does not come at the cost of power, however, as the Bentley boasts a 512 hp, 6.75-liter V-8 engine (with 752 ft lbs of torque) managed by an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. With a top speed of 184 mph, the fashionable four-door can dash from zero to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds. Following the launch of the fully redesigned E300 sedan earlier this spring, Mercedes-Benz has rolled out two more E-Class variants for the U.S. market: the E400 wagon and the AMG43 sedan (pricing yet to be announced). Both feature a new exterior design, an updated powertrain, and a reconfigured interior, as well as the suite of semi-autonomous driving features we experienced on the E300. AdTech Ad Our destination is Holstein, Switzerland—no, not that one. Comprising the area between Lübeck and Kiel on Germany’s Baltic coast, the incongruently named region takes its name from the Holsteinische Schweiz, a hotel built in 1885 that catered to northern Germans who sought the charm of Switzerland without embarking on a 600-mile journey south. Departing from the port city of Hamburg, we wade through afternoon traffic in the AMG E43 (the only V-6-powered E-Class sedan destined for the United States) in search of greener—and quicker—pastures. The E43 is a compromise between the E300 and a full-blown AMG 63 (which has yet to be announced), with a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine that produces 401 hp. Its signature diamond grille treatment, more aggressive front and rear ends, and chrome twin tailpipes make the car instantly recognizable as an AMG. Over roadwork and train tracks, the suspension is firm but compliant, what Michael Kelz, the director of development for the E-Class, calls “sporty comfortable.” Sport seats with contrast stitching cradle and support, while crisp, expansive displays in front of the driver and in the center stack make it easy to see where we were going. View More>>> http://baress.com.ng/2016/11/09/driving-the-mercedes-benz-e-class-wagon-and-amg-e43-in-germany/

Hyundai’s new luxury brand launches a flagship sedan, and it is good. AdTech Ad If Genesis is to Hyundai as Lexus is to Toyota, then the Genesis G90 (genesismotorsusa.com) is analogous to the Lexus LS—and to the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Not to be confused with the Hyundai Genesis, the new luxury brand’s flagship arrives as competition for those other marques’ full-size sedans. The Hyundai Genesis, a midsize sedan, has been rebranded as the Genesis G80 for the 2017 model year. Mercedes-Benz is shaking up its GLE range for the 2017 model year. Most of the models carry over unchanged from the previous year but a new Mercedes-AMG GLE43 is joining the ranks. It replaces both the GLE400 and GLE450 AMG as Mercedes looks to streamline its relatively confusing hierarchy of models. The GLE43 is the ninth model to receive AMG’s “43” badging. Its specifications are almost identical to those of the outgoing GLE450 AMG, including the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 which is rated at 362 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque. This is enough for 0-62 mph acceleration in 5.7 seconds and a governed top speed of 155 mph. View More>>> http://baress.com.ng/2016/11/09/2017-mercedes-benz-gle-preview/
