Kranjar: Thanks. I sent the school a mail to direct me on how to go about processing the VAL because I have no idea of what to do. I need more explanation please. It is coursework, 4 courses each semester. Check your school international office web page, the VAL procedures is always listed there, you just have to submit the necessary documents and pay the required fee thats all, you might decide to take less than 4 courses in a sem, they leave the planning to the masters student, it all depends on how long you want to take to finish your masters, the minimum is 2courses per semester which is 6unit, with that you fee cannot be more than RM5000, the more the courses you register for the more money you are required to pay |

If you are going to a college or for diploma, you still need the NDLEA irrespective of where or the numbers of times your have travelled b4, but if you are going to a university you dont need it |

I want to work and stay over there 1st Dont get it twisted there is no legal work here, its almost impossible to find, if any tell you you can study and work here, be sure of the kinda work its talking about, and you can stay more that two weeks on a tourist visa here unless you plan overstay, and there is a very high chance of deportation, but i nigerians usually have there way around that , you cant also change a tourist visa to student visa. If you wanna get into malaysia and be able to stay legally, you best bet is a student visa. |

JayJustus: hahahahahahaha...i'm typing this right from my pastors house here in Kuala Lumpur (he is chinese malaysian)...all you wrote is bullshyte...hahahaha...Nigerians make up 500,000 lol...whattttttt if Nigerians are over 500,000 then bangladeshis are like 5 million> hahahahahah...fool...total number of africans here are not even up to 20,000 (legal and illegal)...I study at segi university (pinshure attached) and Nigerians are not much here...the bulk is kazakhstans, bangladeshis, pakistanis, arab countries and PRC (china)...in my faculty with students of over 150 i can name all the nigerians that are studying both the ones still in the programme and graduated...not up to ten... and you said you cancome in with a social visa and it will be converted go a student visa hell facking no..this had ended since 2010...before you start spewing bullshyte I have been studying since 2012 here, i speak close to fluent malay so i'm more with locals and other foreign students the most...you have no idea what is happening here...I know three nigerian lecturers from three different universities here (university of malaya, university putra and UCSI)...ofcos there are bad nigerians here but there are alot of hardworking nigerians working at petronas, my cousin worked here for two years in a palm oil research company..my friend just last month got an offer from three different IT companies begging him to work for em...don't just say bullshyte cos you wanna drive traffic to your site or make frontpage or whatnot...go to the public universities and see in aset of PHd graduating students out of 10 you will not see 4 nigerians...nonsense...well it's not like the school fees is cheap that you'd find so many nigerians also..the nigerians that can afford to come here are boxed up in the pocket... Yeah, i agree with some of the things you said, but I'm presently studying in UPM and i can tell you confidently that there is no nigerian lecturer in the university, yes there are some nigerians working legally here but 95% are into illegal activities mainly internent fraud, prostitution, few into Drugs, because i dont think much of nigerians are into drugs here, please you have to be very clear because people are reading this and some people are going to make a decision based on your comments, please if you dont have a good sponsor that can cover your tuition and living expenses, sont dare come to malaysia, it is almost impossible to get a job here, unless you will find yourself persuaded to go into illegal activities because you have no money or job. Please dont let anyone decieve you. |

rita2210: If you don't know what you're saying, don't talk, stop misleading people. It's the same thing that happens in every country, let's say a malaysian comes to nigeria to study at unilag and a nigerian went to America to study, if the two apply for a job in nigeria who do you think they'll choose, it's the same thing as us going to their country to study and someone from their country that went to America to study, they'll obviously choose their people. You also talked about the rankings of university, I've done my research and according to times higher education world university rankings, more than 5 malaysian universities are there and only one nigerian university in the whole world (university of ibadan) you're complaining that malaysian universities are not part of top 200, do you know how many universities are in America or UK, even in the whole of Europe and you expect malaysia to be part of top 200, there are even some countries that are not even part of top universities , are you not nigerian, only one university from our country and its at eight hundred and something, so why are you complaining about another country and in malaysia you're only allowed to work during the holidays, that is why you must have enough funds before you get there because they won't allow you work during the semester. And you're allowed to work as a cleaner or waiter but not as a cashier. I don't know but maybe you were just unlucky because I know people who are living comfortably in malaysia they still face racism once in a while but it's already normal to them it's not something you can change, racism is everywhere you cant just wake up one morning and racism will be gone. And the downside is that you can't really hold high posts in your work place in malaysia. If you go to an accredited school in malaysia and come out with a very very very good result, believe it or not you'll be successful, the only thing you'll be having problems with is racism, that's all, some of the Malaysians will even envy you because someone that's not from their country is doing what they can't do, they'll respect you because even with all the racism you faced you still came out successful. So please stop discouraging people, because you had a bad experience doesn't mean everyone will follow suit. I'm sure because of what you said most people have given up. Malaysia is a very good place to study, but if you feel it's not the right place for you, you can always change location, you can even bring your degree back to nigeria and many people will want you to work with them because you studied somewhere other than nigeria madam where you see naika dey do cleaner for malay? Though there are some naija working in malay but very few, even some are working in petronas and KLCC but dont get it twisted, they are working as an expertriate, their work permit was already proccessed before leaving nigeria, although there are some elements of truth in what the billionaire man said but i can tell you confidently it was extremely exaggerated to the highest order, alot of nigerians are staying in KL, and racism is not that Bad, you are free to go anywhere you like, and education in malaysia is very Good, under QS ranking 2 malaysian university are amoung the top 200 uni in the world,Both UM, and UPM. I'm presently doing my masters in UPM and I'm enjoying both the masters and Malaysia to the fullest, if you are coming just to study and you have a good sponsor, you have nothing to worry about, you will enjoy Malaysia, No work here, thats the problem, if you dont have money that can cover your tuition fee and expenses, Malaysia is not the right destination for you |

Truth234: This reminds me my experience with some Nigerians at the Nigerian Embassy in 2014. A student from FTMS claimed she was denied a US visa because she was a Nigerian, while others with similar experience jumped in and together they agreed that Malaysians hate us. I was surprised because not only did she lied, she made others believed it was true, whereas Malaysians don't interview you at the American embassy, Americans do.
To the new students coming to Malaysia, there are three types of Nigerians in Malaysia:
Those that don't know.
Those that pretend to know and will defend their stance vehemently.
And the very subtle few that knows.
If you are a student, be an A student. American Embassy sees result first, at least in my own case and that of my friends. There may not be jobs in Malaysia, but this place holds substantial opportunities for good students with sponsors. Do your research! Billionman60: I have been following this thread for long as I was deceived to study in Malaysia with hope I will get a job after my 3 years degree and Hello to everyone and this is to those who are coming to Malaysia for the purpose of studying, please think twice and ask yourself why Malaysia? First I have to sound it out to everyone here that you have your final decision to choose either to study here or somewhere else. I am not trying to demoralize any one rather I want to let you know of the reality on ground, Firstly Malaysians don't like blacks and the see all Blacks as criminals, fraudster/conmen, black money vendor, and prostitute,
The don't know the difference between someone from Ghana, South Africa, African-American and Nigeria, once you're black you're Nigerian and a criminal, even those that will smile at you especially the Chinese, they are doing so because you have something financially to offer or you're always coming to their pubs with friends to drink.
Malaysian degree is not even acceptable in most firm in Singapore talk more about other advanced Asian countries, Malaysians don't value their education that much and that is why their government sponsored them to study elsewhere as such you will see Malaysian Students all over the world even in South Africa. Malaysia value their certificates if you as a Malay especially wants to work in the government sector but most firms accept and value certificates from outside Malaysia more than their own certificates, so why wasting your hard earn money to study in a country, where you are not allowed to work or even do internship.
In other countries like Singapore when you finish your degree you're allowed to search for work and you have 50/50 to get a job while here in Malaysia once you finish your study, Immigration and Education department will not renew your Student Visa and the will asked you to leave the country within 2 weeks whereby you fail to leave then you will become an Illegal immigrant, which is very difficult to stay in Malaysia without papers.
Why waste your hard earn money when after graduating you're not allowed to work and the only place you can even try your bet is Celcom and a call desk officer with a salary of 1500 ringgit, which is a contract work of just 4-5 months and the will not file for a work permit for you.
Why wasting your hard earn money to study in Malaysia when there is discrimination in housing, I mean renting a place and that is why you see Nigerians and Africans living much in Puchong, Cheras, Subang Jaya, cyber Jaya, Bukit Jali, Selayang, Kajang and only few lives in KL, if you doubt try and search for apartment, call the agent and tell him/her you're a Nigeria or African then watch his/her response which usually " owner dont want foreigner".
Thirdly in other countries as a student you're allowed to work for few hours during session and work more hours during holidays period but here in Malaysia you cannot even work as a cleaner. I will advise those going to Malaysia to think twice as you will get frustrated if you're having hope of study and work or work after study....., If your upkeep money is not coming from Nigeria then you're doomed and will be forced to go either way of illegal means of survival, which 90% of those living in Malaysia are into. The only business you see Nigerians doing here selling African things or operating and opening of African restaurant, which you must get married to their locals before you can. Please save your money and find somewhere else to study and work. Malaysian Universities are not even among the 200 Universities in University Ranking. Bros please how much is dollar tto rringgit in malay's black market |

youngbilly1: Mr man! Everyone have their personal reasons for studying in Malaysia. You wanna compare a degree from UPM, Sunway, Taylor, FCUC, FTMS and so on... to south african universities? REALLY! bro don't be ignorant! Even other Asians, Europeans, Australians and Arabs come to study in Malaysia. I have lotta foreign student in my class FCUC..."Japanese, South Korean, Egpytian and Iranian" JUST 1 malay. They've all been together since Foundation year, Degree and now Masters. Why do you think some people choose to study in Malaysia because they have 3+0 degrees from UK, Australian universities rather than paying £11,000/yr in Uk for the degree they rather study in Malaysia for £4000/yr sometimes as low as $10,000 for a 3yr BSC degree. I have been to South Africa please tell me which jobs pays good in South Africa. Bros behave yourself don't infest your ignorance and discourage other people. Yes there's racism here, there's scam here. Tell me a country where there's no scam and no racism. Don't dull! grow up. Bros please how much is dollar tto rringgit in malay's black market |
