Thanks bro, you seemed to understand my plight. The themes have been trying out with are the free themes in the Wordpress store. Don't know if buying a premium theme would give me a better deal? Nice blog you got. What i have in mind is something similar to yours but with a different radical concentration of reportage on a certain aspect of news coverage as my area of niche I had the same problem as you and 4 days ago i decided to put my programming skill to use and built a customer theme. You can check it out at www.ovoko.com.ng though i'm still working on it to be perfect.[/quote] |
Hello House, Please i need a professional help and assistance on a blog am currently building. It is a wordpress self-hosted site which is partially up now. The concept behind the site is to make it a completely news/events/celebrity blog fashioned after the likes of Linda Ikeji, Lailas blog and others but with a bias for real news coverage in another area other than gossips that litters the enter cyberspace. My problem now is, have not been able to get the right theme to use for the blog because most of the ones have tested always have one issue or the other which has really slowed down my target on the blog. I will be very grateful for any advice professionals in the house would give as regards the best theme to use for a news/events/celebrity oriented blog. Thanks. N.B I will be very grateful if you guys can assist by recommending various pluggins that needed to be installed to run a news oriented blog too as well. |
Someone like Oshiomohle that speaks from both sides of the mouth will only end up conducting the funeral of the already ailing party. |

The certificate scandal involving the senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye, may be far from over, as his name was not found on the Ahmadu Bello University alumni website, SUNDAY PUNCH reports. Melaye’s trouble began on Monday, March 20, when an online news medium, SaharaReporters, reported that the senator did not graduate from ABU for his first degree. The senator had claimed that he obtained B.A in Geography from the institution. Melaye had boasted that he was currently a student in ABU pursuing his seventh degree, adding, “Go round all the UNIS (universities) I attended in digging more.” A day after the news broke, Melaye, while speaking on the floor of the Senate, also addressed himself as an “authentic graduate” of ABU. On Saturday, an exhaustive online search conducted by our correspondents – from the 1998/1999 alumni set to 2007 – for Melaye’s name on the website of ABU Alumni Association did not give any result that shows that the embattled lawmaker is a graduate of the school. His name, Daniel Jonah Melaye, as it appeared on a statement of result by the university, when searched, returned with zero result. When SUNDAY PUNCH searched for ‘Daniel,’ ‘Jonah’ and ‘Melaye’ separately, different names came up. A search for ‘Melaye’ brought up only one result: Melaye Sunday Ola (Biology Education), who graduated in 1980. Another search for ‘Jonah’ came up with four different names: Bawa Jonah Seth Besanhi (BSc Geography; graduated in 1973); Birga Jonah (BSc Geography; graduated in 2007); Kaigama Jonah Ishaku (BSc Geography; graduated in 2011); and Ndasala Jonah (BSc Geography; graduate in 1987). There were 10 results when ‘Daniel’ was searched: Abin Daniel John (BSc Geography; graduated in 1978); Adamu Kantsan Daniel (Institute Of Education Geography; graduated in 1992); Aniro Daniel Rabo (BSc Geography; no graduation date indicated); Atenji Daniel E. (BSc Geography; graduated in 1986); Beshiru Daniel (BSc Geography; graduated in 1980); Dada Daniel Adefila (BSc Geography; graduated in 1979); Awubra Daniel Akinkwe (Geography; graduated in 2002/2003); Daniel Bosede Biddy (BSc Geography graduated in 1983); Daniel Dogara Garba (BSc Geography; graduated in 2010); and Daniel Ezra Jatau (BSc Geography; graduated in 2011). When our correspondent called the ABU Public Relations Officer, Mr. Adamu Mohammed, about 8pm on Saturday to find out why the senator’s name was not on the alumni website, his line rang out. On the second trial, the line was switched off. A text message also sent to his mobile line on the matter had yet to be replied to as of press time. When SUNDAY PUNCH contacted the President, ABU Alumni Association, Prof. Ahmed Tijanni-Mora, he said only the university could confirm if Melaye graduated from the institution. He said, “The registrars of universities are in the best position to provide information about who attended their universities or not.” Last week, ABU’s spokesman, Mohammed, when contacted by The PUNCH promised that the institution would come out with its position on Wednesday, which it failed to do as of the time of filing this report. Saturday PUNCH’s March 25 edition had obtained a document which revealed that the senator got a statement of result with the logo of ABU. The statement of result read, “This is to certify that Daniel Jonah Melaye having completed an approved course of study and passed the prescribed examinations as, under the authority of the Senate been awarded the Bachelor of Arts (Geography) with Third Class honours.” The statement, issued by the Office of the Registrar, Academic Office, was dated February 3, 2000, and signed by B.B. Mshelthlila. It was, however, observed that while the statement of result had the name “Daniel Jonah MELAYE”, the senator’s National Youth Service Corps discharge certificate, which was issued on July 8, 2001, read “Melaye Daniel;” his diploma certificate issued by the University of Jos on August 3, 2006 read “Daniel Dino Melaye”, and his Senior School Certificate in 1992 read ‘Melaiye Daniel Jonah O’ with Melaye being wrongly spelt. Similarly, the University of Abuja, which Melaye claimed he had also attended, refused to comment on whether the senator obtained a master’s degree from the institution. The Vice Chancellor of UNIABUJA, Prof. Michael Adikwu, responding to an inquiry by one of our correspondents on Saturday, said, “Issues of certificates should be directed to the registry. I heard that (allegation against Dino Melaye) also, but I will find out later.” http://punchng.com/dino-melayes-name-missing-from-abu-alumni-website/ |

Hello house, Have been wondering of late the cause of the drastic drop in transcripts in this our noble house and I begin to ask myself, are people no longer travelling or visiting the US Embassy ni or is it that this recession and fear of losing 54,400 within a twinkle of an eye has made people to slow down on their travelling to the states? Abi the fear of President Donald Trump and all these his gragra EO's on immigration don scare our people from going to uncle Sam's country? I was checking out interview dates some days back and guess what, you need to see how very close dates were just springing up as first earliest dates like calls girls in a competition for suitors. Some were just three days away from the day of checking at the Almighty US Embassy in Lagos that a times, the closest date you could find for lagos will definitely be a month apart from when you were checking! It was then that I realised the reason why transcripts no longer fly left, right and centre so often here again. Biko my people, we need your transcripts here so as to keep the ministry of this Nobel house moving. God bless and grant all visa applicants unmerited divine favour in their visa interviews. |
But why would a responsible man allow his wife to go that irresponsible show to go and exhibit signs of irresponsibility? |

Wiseoldman:You have a good profile here, my candid advise to you is to lay much emphasis on your job description and what you stand to benefit career-wise from attending the conference when you are asked what are you going to do in the US. If you can provide a convincing case here, I believe you stand a better chance but please note that granting of visas is at the discretion of the VO. Best of luck. |
LilNetty:Only if you know the value and importance attached to we Nigerian men abroad, you won't be talking this way! |
mamateniola1:Wetin person no go see for this era of change? So una don form parallel govt here with different positions abi? Sai Baba must here cos this na kwaruption! Hello guys and happy Sunday to you all! |
diamondsare4eva:@Diamondsare4va, first utilise the ones you have in your passport first, at a later time, you can now reapply back for the US visa when you believe you have a genuine reason to do so. |
diamondsare4eva:I maybe right or wrong, but methinks having two visas already on your passport unused and going ahead to apply for US visa is uncalled for which ought not to have happened. Visas are not decorations or souvenirs to be put on passports. To me, I believe the VO sees you as not yet serious to travel to the US that you should first use the ones you have first before coming to apply for US visa. |
Heyofrizzle:In my own opinion, I believe the VO sees the reason of your application as not too tangible and also, coupled with the information you earlier filled about yourself. Saying you want to go to the US just to attend a wedding when you are not the child of Dangote, Adenuga or Sai Buhari will make any VO to be suspicious of the motive behind the application. Since you did not say much about your kind of person, what you do or where you work. I think the VO asking you if you had a child was trying to see if there exists something that could make you return back home to Naija to face the daily epileptic power supply, bad roads and the rest after attending your socalled wedding. I think you met a kindhearted VO that attended to you cos it is very rare to see them deny someone a visa and give you a reason for such actions! |
That's my guy, the super cop, ACP Olatunji Disu, RRS Commander, known for doing wonders wherever he is posted to. He conquered Ikare, Owo and rounded up his stay in Ondo state by putting fear in the minds of the big robbers while he was the O/C SARS, Ondo state. The sky is your limit my guy, ACP Olatunji Disu, by the Grace of God, Insha Allah, we shall have cause to celebrate your promotion soon as the IGP and will be spared this useless and mindless distraction of a former IGP going away with 24 cars when he is not opening a car mart! |
ebab:Can you help with the address of the service center? |
Good morning house, please I have an Innjoo 1x whose battery is bad and needs a replacement which have not been able to find in the market. Heard there is a way one can cannibalise a battery for it. Please who can help with an information on where one can get it done in Computer Village since am in lag presently and also, what range does it cost to replace its broken screen? Thanks for your swift responses |
Chelseafan1:Getting a US visa depends on how you present your case and also, how the VO analyse the case before he/she. First and formost, be prepared to answer these questions; 1. What are you going to do in US? 2. What do you do/ How much do you earn? 3. Have you travelled before? 4. Who is funding the trip? The moment you can provide convincing answers to these questions , be rest assured that you are good. But a major thing you should note is that getting a visa is a 50-50 thing and also, granting of visa is at the discretion of a VO. You could be over qualified in every sense but when the VO is not just satisfied with what he/she has at hand, guy, the VO will deny such application. A tip I will give you is that, if you are asked what you do, simply respond that you run and manage the family line of business, from this, am very sure the VO will want you to make a clear explanation of the type of business is in question here. Your getting a visa now depends on what you say here if you are able to make clear and convincing points. Wish you the best of luck!!! |
