Politics / Ugonna Utulor: The Muslim North Should Be Encouraged To Secede. by barron2094: 11:08pm On Feb 03, 2020
Ugonna Utulor, a Public Affairs Analyst and the author of the thriller Hackers Day argues that Nigeria's northerners majority of whom are Muslims should be encouraged to secede out of Nigeria. Here's the article:

""Fulani group claims ownership of land from the Atlantic Ocean to Sokoto" - PM News.

News like this have made me come to a conclusion: dissolution of Nigeria will be a better solution than any other. But rather wait for others to start the process, the Muslim north should take the lead.

The Muslim north of Nigeria deserves a country of their own. Instead of beating around the bush they should unite and secede. The north craves power and has indeed had power either through the ballot or seized it with bullets. But the Muslim north do not just want power, they want to change the power rulebook.

The Muslim north is not comfortable with democracy. They do not like democracy and feel enslaved by the fragile democracy that Nigeria has since 1999 been too afraid to practice.

The Muslim north prefers a theocracy. Influenced by the Wahhabi ideology, the Muslim north prefer Sharia and laws meant for the dark ages to an American constitution and the freedom that comes with its democracy.

Liberalism is not their thing. It's why they don't like liberal "Yoruba Muslims". Imams from the South West cannot lead prayers in the north even though Islam came to Odua first.

The imams in the north preach all sort of radical messages. The radicalism of Shekau and co started in mosques and Islamic schools in the north. The north has a born to rule mentality and have ruled for years, lending to Nigeria the most inept of leaders and affecting the whole nation with mediocrity in thinking, in leadership and in aspiration.

Yet the imams think that the north hasn't gone far enough. The imams say Nigeria is their heritage. And indeed encourage their elites to open the borders to their distant cousins in all parts of Africa. They too have to come and possess their possession even if their were originally from Mali or Gabon, from Senegal or Gambia. Once in Daura, Keita from Gambia becomes Keita Daura.

The Muslim north shielded Boko Haram in its formative years and used them to achieve their political goals at the height of their insanity.

We know Niger Delta militants fought for compensation. Oil had devastated their land, defiled their waters, killed their fishes and spilled poisons into their farms making it impossible to grow crops. They deserved some money to eat or even buy water to drink and since they demanded peacefully and got locked up or given the Saro-Wiwa treatment, fighting from the creek was an appealing tactics of last resort.

OPC fought against Yoruba marginalization and the atrocity that's June 12, 1993. IPOB and MASSOB are fighting Igbo marginalization.

But what is Boko Haram fighting for? What exactly is the problem with the Fulani herdsmen?

At the heart of it is Sharia. Implementation of Sharia across the country. And then the establishment of an Islamic caliphate.

But who are their sponsors? Fingered are Muslim elites from the north. Remember it was the elite governors who first introduced Sharia into states in the north and have vowed to al in other parts of the country.

Why can't all of Nigeria be ruled by the Sultan, they wonder. It wouldn't be a bad idea to make Nigeria the next Turkey, one-time Christian bastion, modern-time Islamic stronghold.

Sharia is oppressive in Saudi as in everywhere else. Yet it's exactly what all northern Muslims crave.

Since they prefer oppression to freedom, they should be encouraged to secede and not force their ways on others.

Adams Oshiomhole, A Low Budget Judas Iscariot.

By Ugonna Utulor

Adams Oshiomhole entered the Nigerian public scene as a Messiah. He was waving placards, raining curses, leading strikes and threatening fire and brimstone. Oshiomhole was a nightmare to Obasanjo and gave Atiku, Lucky Igbenedion and many others sleepless nights.

As the leader of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Adams seemed to have that which many politicians lacked: integrity, competence and genuine love for the masses. And so quite very soon he was drafted into politics.

Give a man power, however, and his true colours will be revealed. As Governor of Edo State, Oshio looted the state treasury so much so that witches and wizards accused him of looting by witchcraft. With public funds he lived large. With public funds he imported a trophy wife. Later he imposed a puppet governor. And with him he continued the reign of terror, of bad governance, embezzlement and corruption.

Adams Oshiomhole had learnt at the feet of the Jagaban of Borgu and they had quickly formed an evil alliance. Together they plotted the removal of Chief John Oyegun-Odigie as the APC national chairman. There was no election. But in a quickly organized selection process Oshi-Omole became the new chairman of the APC.

A green snake in a green grass has found a fertile ground to catch his preys. By design, the APC was a fertile ground for Oshiomhole (whose name partly means thief in Igbo and son of a thief in Yoruba. Onye Oshi - Omo Ole). Corruption and evil practices was in the manifesto of that party and Adams was a natural fit.

Across the nation, the APC perpetuated the worst form of primary election rigging known to man in 2018. Those who won the party's primaries later found out their names had been substituted with the highest bidder's. It happened in my state. It happened to many I know.

The courts were over flooded with litigations between APC members. It was an ungodly debacle.

From Zamfara to Abia, Rivers to Bornu, courts found inconsistencies and illegalities with the conduct of APC primaries nationwide.

In the general election, Oshiomhole endorsed and openly canvassed for vote rigging.

Today (22/11/2019), people are carrying placards in Abuja calling for his head, demanding he resigns. The hunter has become the hunted. The chickens have come home to roost.

In truth, Oshiomhole was and will never be a Messiah, he is a low budget Judas Iscariot.

Politics / Seyi Makinde: The Case Against Revolution By Ugonna Utulor by barron2094: 10:40am On Aug 27, 2019
SEYI MAKINDE: THE CASE AGAINST REVOLUTION.

By Ugonna Utulor

Those who clamour for political revolution in Nigeria consistently express a displeasure in Nigeria's democracy. They are unhappy with the direction Nigeria is going, they're unhappy with the current leaders. They want a quick change, a political and probably ideological change. To them Nigeria has no hope. The future is bleak. The future will be worse than the present.

Others who oppose revolution but also wish for a tremendous improvement are caught in a web. This web, political and economic, is old. It's the question of evolutionary change versus revolutionary change. Slow and steady versus quick and immediate. These set of people ask for caution. They want the revolutionaries to rather get involved in the political process and as one bad leader is replaced with a better leader a time will come when only good leaders will have power. Their theory is simple: rational voters cannot vote in a bad person to replace a good person but can vote in a good person to replace a bad person.

What is cirrently happening in Oyo state is what the antirevolutionary commentators have in mind.

Not long ago Oyo had a "constituted authority" headed by former governor Abiola Ajimobi. Under Ajimobi the state wasn't working so perfectly. The state-owned university, LAUTECH, was on a protracted strike. State civil servants were not getting paid. Roads were bad, crimes were rife and corruption was welcome.

But just within months of ascending the governor's seat, the new governor Seyi Makinde has almost rewritten the story of Oyo State and has repositioned Oyo as the nation's pace setter state.

He started first of all by showing his love and believe in the youths. He supported the ambition of 32-year-old Adebo Ogundoyin to be speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly and topped it by appointing 27-year-old Seun Fakorede as a commissioner. All these at a time when youths are only considered for SA, PA, bag carrier or boy-boy. This inclusion of youths in governance, as well as many the women he appointed, is a clear evidence that Seyi Makinde is not your typical Nigerian politician.

But that's just a tip of the iceberg. In in a state where workers are used to being owed salaries for months, he has consistently paid salaries five or more days before the month ends ever since he got into office.

LAUTECH has also resumed academic activities. Crime have been checkmated. He's on course to settle some high profile disputes in the state and has already kick-started a people-oriented agenda that will leave all citizens of the state better, richer and more educated.

Seyi Makinde, however, was not produced by a revolution. He's a product of an election. Without question, therefore, that's enough proof that if we can support the right candidates revolution against democratically elected governments would be unnecessary.

Politics / Ndigbo Never Wanted Jonathan In 2015 - Ugonna Utulor by barron2094: 8:16am On Aug 12, 2019
Writer, Public Affair Analyst and political commentator, Mr Ugonna Utulor, has in a lengthy article on his Facebook Page described how the Igbos did not want Jonathan in 2015 but voted for him majorly because his opponent was Buhari. In his analysis he recounted how the Igbo's clamoured for any other person but Jonathan and might have perhaps voted for the APC if the APC had not voted for Buhari. Here's the full article:

"Our people in the South East did not want Jonathan to run again in 2015. You remember how Jonathan treated some of our people as soon as he got power?

Dr. Sam Egwu, the powerful ex-governor of Ebonyi, who had the ears of Obasanjo and was preferred to be PDP chairman until he backed out, was unceremoniously sacked from his position as Minister of Education in 2010.

Our leaders Vincent Ogbulafor and Okwesilieze Nwodo were axed out in shameful fashion from PDP chairmanship. Maurice Iwu was asked to go on terminal leave. What the hell is terminal leave? And that's how he was deleted.

Promises had been made to our people by "Azikiwe" Jonathan but none was fulfilled.

As 2015 approached, our people in the PDP joined other eminent voices across the nation to warn Jonathan about contesting. But when Jonathan remained adamant and made himself PDP's sole candidate without any primary election, our people had few choices except to watch the Congress of the APC to know who would carry their broomy flag.

Okorocha understood this (I was in Owerri at the time). Campaign after campaign he reiterated how Ndigbo would support him if he got the APC flag.

Many Igbos hoped Atiku would clinch the APC flag. And they were some who regretted that Fashola didn't contest. But the APC elected BUHARI. Kindly check Buhari's history with the Igbo.

How will an Igbo person support Buhari? How? And so with a heavy heart our people supported Jonathan in 2015.

It was the APC who proved us right. We always knew APC was more of a northern party but why elect the most hawkish of northerners?

With that decision to field the tyrant of Daura, Igbos, entrepreneurs with a profit and loss mentality, understood that while Jonathan was incompetent, Buhari would be a disaster. They went back memory lane to analyze how Buhari lead Nigeria to recession in 1985. The atrocities he committed. His association with Abacha. His comments. His role in the counter coup and civil war.

They x-rayed his obvious antidemocratic posturing, his duplicitous nature and penchant for lying, they recollected his incompetence. It was with a very heavy heart Ndigbo voted PDP in 2015.

Politics / Big Blow To Ebonyi Government As Senator Onwe Bows Out By Ugonna Utulor. by barron2094: 9:52pm On Aug 03, 2019
BIG BLOW TO EBONYI GOVERNMENT AS SENATOR ONWE BOWS OUT.

The intellectual outputs of the first administration of Governor David Nweze Umahi were products of one man.

The slogan "Akubaraoha is working, Ebonyi is on the rise", is a brainchild of that same man.

At cabinet meetings of the Ebonyi state government there was one man in whose absence the meeting couldn't go on.

He was so pivotal that at the end of the tenure the Governor called him " the men in man".

And that is who he is, he is many men rolled into one man. Energetic, articulate and highly cerebral, the London-trained Doctor of Law is the most qualified person to have held any position of trust in Ebonyi State.

For three brief months, Senator Onwe Emmanuel had served in the Nigerian Senate but left legacies others haven't left in years. He had actually won the election but was rigged out by the powers that be. Used to a system that works and hoping that Nigeria is redeemable, he took the case up from the election petition tribunal up to the highest court in the country, the Supreme Court. It was there the truth eventually prevailed, initially, and Dr. Onwe was declared the duly elected Senator.

Senate President David Mark refused to swear him in but eventually the courts once again prevailed. Yet the losers continued lobbying and soon after three months the Supreme Court, with orders from the highest offices in our country reversed their own judgement, a legal and constitutional aberration that left much to be desired.

It was already time for the next election. In 2011. And when Senator Onwe contested and was winning the first contest, INEC decided to cancel the elections, a broad day robbery that history will never forget. With threats to his life, Senator Onwe refused to partake in the next sham.

In 2015, he singlehandedly delivered Ikwo to Engr Dave. And when Engr Dave came knocking on his door asking that he help him lead Ebonyi state, begging for his intellectual support, Senator Onwe consulted his people. His people begged him to accept. To serve, that service to the people at any level is a worthy endeavour. And he did accept, and left his footprints everywhere. A men in man. In the four years he was the commissioner for Information and State Orientation he consistently won the best political appointee in Governor Dave's administration.

In the election of 2019, he did it again. He delivered for Engr Dave, served as the campaign publicity director once again and secured a second victory for our governor.

Again, Governor Dave came knocking. But Senator Onwe said no. I'm not the only one in Ebonyi State, he stated. Let others contribute their quota too.

But Senator Onwe will be highly missed by all Ebonyians. Who will speak for the masses at those cabinet meetings? Senator Onwe Emmanuel, a very humble man, is bowing out but in so doing he's delivered a heavy blow to Ebonyi and to the Ebonyi State Government.

Yet he is not leaving without leaving successors. He has trained many in the art of effective leadership. He's leaving, a hero, an embodiment of how it should be done, a men in man.

My friend keep quiet.

Call which investigators? The card carrying members of APC that can easily be swayed by little "gifts".

Igbos will not condone their erring brothers just to look good before your lot.

Okorocha is a fraud and the public should be able to judge the under duress Senator-elect.

iammo:

" Mumuness ",. You wonder why Igbo aren't giving National Power and Omo-Agege would clinch the Deputy Senate seat from OUK, or why Obasanjo selected Jonathan as Vice President when there are two terms Igbo governors

Ojuckwu and Azikwe silently gave themselves uppercut,

Obiano and Peter Obi are Publicly Giving themselves sliding tackle,

Ihedioha as now Started with Rochas Okorocha public.

What a matured governor would have done is simply to call the law enforcement and report damages and vandalisation of Goverment Property and the case would be forwarded to a court of law after Investigation must have established the culprits responsible

oz4real83:
I have always said it that every successive govt this country has ever had, have always taken us into deeper mess. The military took the naira from N0.658 to the dollar and dumped it at about N88/dollar by 1999. The Pdp took it from that point and dump it at about N300/dollar by 2015. Apc took it from that point to even up to N530/dollar at some point. The same sets of individuals keep recycling themselves in different forms in govt and that is why we keep getting the same results.

The PDP left it at N186/1$. It skyrocketed to N300/1$ within months of the APC. In 16 years the PDP increased the exchange rate by less than 120% but in less than 6 months the APC increased by more than 120%. It's clear that the incompetence of the APC, their wrongly formulated fiscal policies and their inability to even implement those policies is the reason why Nigeria is in this moribund situation. The PDP certainly could have done better but the APC made promises to Nigerians, promises of a better future yet in four years they have effectively destroyed our future.

Politics / Bukola Saraki Is A Good Man By Ugonna Utulor. by barron2094: 7:27am On Feb 26, 2019
Senator Bukola Saraki is a good man who has been fought on all sides today because he stood up against the tyranny of the All Progressives Congress.

I will start from the genesis.

In 2014, shortly after Buhari emerged as the flag bearer of the emergency coalition, APC, it became public knowledge that Tinubu wanted to impose himself on the party as Buhari's running mate. Calculating that Buhari would probably die in office and he Tinubu would become president, Tinubu wanted to cash in in any impending crisis, one he helped create.

There were many flaws in that calculation, however. For one, a Muslim/Muslim ticket is against the country's position on Federal character. Two, everybody knows who Tinubu is. A terror by day, an owl by night, a monkey by twilight. He is not good for Nigeria, as a Vice president or even as anything.

So Abubakar Bukola Saraki led the fight against Tinubu's VP ambitions. Eventually Tinubu had to bow down to the enormous pressure and nominate one of his puppets, Pastor Yemi Osinbajo, as VP still with the hope of becoming president in 2023.

But ABS's role in this win for the nation made him Tinubu's enemy.

When Bukola Saraki, who together with Atiku denoted more than N5 billion to the Buhari campaign, indicated interest in becoming the President of the Senate, Tinubu barked at Bourdillion and vowed to ensure ABS's ambition never saw the light of the day.

A tug of war ensued.

Tinubu hijacked the APC political apparatus and even wanted to bring Buhari to the mix. But Buhari, knowing how much support Saraki gave him, found it difficult to interfere. A sham primary election was conducted by the APC or Tinubu's faction of the emergency coalition. Saraki lost. Saraki immediately understood that the APC, whose National Leader is his arch rival was out to get him.

Saraki then had no choice but to come back to his friends in the PDP. He was once the Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum and he still maintained strong bonds with his former colleagues now in the hollowed chamber. A quick agreement was signed. Saraki became Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu became Deputy Senate President, resulting in a bipartisan first for the nation. But the APC viewed this as a coup and vowed to undo it.

But it wasn't only the APC that made a vow. From that day onward Saraki chose to be an objective Senate President, the like of which the nation had never seen and may never see again. Instead of being a rubber stamp Senate president for the presidency like his predecessors, he questioned several of their faulty decisions, openly challenged them to rule by the nation's constitution and rule of law and diplomatically scrutinized them the way a true Senate president should.

This shocked the APC. And because ineptitude is manufactured in the Buhari's kitchen cabinet, it was certain from the onset that this session of the national Assembly will humiliate them. The humiliations did come in more ways than one.

It's because of these humiliations that they (Tinubu and the APC) are out to destroy the Saraki political dynasty and leave behind a good man's neck the tag of a bad man.

And there's no better way to destroy a man than from his own house.

So when I listen to people from Kwara State shouting "O te go", When I hear them say Saraki and his people must go, that Saraki has failed them, that enough is enough. I know it's really not Kwara people speaking. I know these angry voices are coming from a place so far away from Kwara.

Sponsored by billions from Tinubu and the APC, Illorin thugs are hackling our Senate President. "Ole! Ole!" they shout, with no regard for position. "Thief! Thief!" they call him, with no regard for dignity.

When I see Kwara people I see an ignorant lot.
I see a people who do not value what they have (a Senate President can bring appointments, and federal money), the alternative will bring nothing. Like the Israelites, the people of Kwara prefer the sufferings of Egypt to the promises in Canaan.

Look at the development in Kwara, is it not better than any state of it's size, Federal allocation and internally generated revenue? Osun? Kogi? Niger? Look at what Saraki did with the Shonga farms. No credits deserved? Unlike, Tinubu, Saraki doesn't win with thugs. He wins fair. But you chose to believe sponsored publications on Punch more than reality. It's Sad. Lose Saraki. Sell out your heritage to Tinubu and see how you have shot yourselves at your feet.

You still have a chance in the gubernatorial election to right this wrong!

Saraki is a good man and Nigerians love him, only agents of darkness don't.

Under Saraki more legislations have been passed by the national assembly than in any other session of the NASS. The not too young to run bill and electoral reform bill are revolutionary bills that will make our democracy a better, stronger democracy. The legacies of Saraki will out live him.

Saraki is intelligent, articulate and bold. He's been accused, maligned and declared innocent. Sahara Reporters has been deployed against him and he took Sowore to court and won. He has defeated all their gods. It's only a good man that will confront injustice and triumph.

Saraki is a good man. I see light and truth in him. Shouldn't true sons of Kwara see him for who he's? Shouldn't true sons of Kwara stand with him and ensure the tyrants from Eko do not take spoils from Illorin? A good man should not be left at the mercy of evil men.

Politics / Nnamdi Kanu Is An Enemy Of Ndigbo. By Ugonna Utulor by barron2094: 2:42pm On Feb 07, 2019
Nnamdi Kanu is an enemy of Ndigbo.

By

Ugonna Utulor.

Ndigbo have suffered from time immemorial. Neglected, marginalized, hated upon, fought, conquered but resolute to succeed, Ndigbo have never had it easy. To many Nnamdi Kanu had been a Messiah. He said the right things, preached the right message, fought the good fight.

Until he signed up to become an enemy of Ndigbo, sold his soul to the devil and to those who have oppressed our people.

Calm down. Let me tell you how.

When Nnamdi Kanu was in prison our youths and women protested for his release and also that of his fellow freedom messengers who had been arrested by the tyrant of Daura. Many of these Igbo protesters lost their lives to save Kanu's. Eventuality Kanu signed an agreement to free himself with little care about the fate of the other Igbos that had been arrested with him. On coming out he never felt it was necessary to pay homage to those our sons and daughters who were killed while trying to protest his detention.

Our elders called him to a meeting, he refused to listen to our elders. He continued causing havoc, creating enemies for our people across the country. Many had their properties destroyed, many lost businesses, others lost friends. He kept taunting the tyrant of Daura, calling for war where dialogue was needed knowing fully well that nothing would happen to himself or his family members. Knowing fully well that the only people at risk are the masses - you and I. He was laughing at us, the masses. He was laughing at our ignorance. He still is. But we now know better.

Before the python dance Kanu went into an accord with the tyrant of Daura. Like Judas Iscariot he betrayed his own people. A quick arrangement was made between Nigeria and Israel and Kanu was shipped to Israel. Millions of dollars were paid to his Swiss account by the tyrant of Daura and his agents.

Nnamdi Kanu betrayed Ndigbo before the python Dance. He knew lives and properties would be lost yet he was not concerned, yet he signed an agreement with the cabal but couldn't include in that agreement that since he had been paid off to go live in luxury in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem there was no need for the surugede dance. But his ego and selfishness won't let him. His life ambition after all had been to be a Supreme leader. And to force his own people to worship a strange god. Judaism is not our religion. But Kanu wanted us to bow to his God, to himself, an aspiring Supreme leader that hates his own people.

Nnamdi Kanu is an enemy of Ndigbo.

Now they have resurrected him. It's not hard to resurrect a ghost that loves money and hates his people. He has vowed to deny us that which God has given us.

His resurrection shouldn't ordinarily have been a problem but in his resurrection he became a Bar-Jesus. A false prophet with fabricated dreams and too many "akuko Mike Ejeagha". How for instance do we rationalize his insistence that because Atiku Abubakar is from a region that once was in Cameroon Atiku is therefore unqualified to be Nigeria's president? To Nnamdi Kanu Obama's birth in Hawaii which was at some point not a part of the United States should have made Obama ineligible to be US president. This is not only ignorant but mischievous and dubious.

Nnamdi has been paid to reduce Atiku's chances in the South East so as to help Buhari win.

Nnamdi Kanu is an enemy of Ndigbo. Otherwise why would he plan to ask us not to vote for our son who by God's grace will be Vice president and eventually president? He knows that if we don't vote his paymasters will win.

This is our fight. We must fight Nnamdi Kanu. For though he was once one of us today he's our number one enemy and an enemy from within is the most dangerous.

Politics / Atiku Winning Buhari In Twitter Poll by barron2094: 11:42am On Feb 05, 2019
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 16 2019 election Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is currently leading other contenders including incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari in an ongoing twitter poll.

The poll created a few hours ago has already garnered votes from over a thousand Nigerians. The poll was created by The Ugomba1 of Ebonyi State, Mr. Ugonna Utulor, a writer and public opinion analyst.

It can't be concluded that Atiku's topping of this poll means he's going to win the general election but perhaps this may be an indication that more Nigerians support his candidature than those in support of Buhari or the other candidates.

Recall, that several Nigerians have consistently expressed displeasure at Buhari's performance and have repeatedly criticized him for his lackluster leadership, disregard for due process, abuse of the rule of law, disrespect for press freedom and murder of the freedom of the judiciary.

His sacking of the Chief Justice of the Supreme court a fortnight ago had led to widespread protests and condemnations.

There have also been prediction from powerful entities that President Buhari would lose the 2019 election. The most prominent of this is the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) who had successful predicted his victory in the 2015 election but had surprisingly predicted not long ago that he would lose in this year's election.

Fortune has in recent days been favouring Atiku with all the socio-political groups in all the six geopolitical zones endorsing the PDP candidate in a move many see as a vote of No-confidence on Buhari and his APC administration. These groups including Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Northern Elders Forum, Pan-Niger Delta forum, the Middle Belt Forum, as well as a faction of Afenifere, the Yoruba socio-political group wield enormous influence within their regions.

The poll will run till tomorrow and then we may know if Atiku will win the Twitter battle, a feat that may likely translate to his winning the polls. After all the people on Twitter are Nigerians and would definitely vote at the polls.

Stealing $1 billion and depositing into what account? Seems like a story for kids.

You apparently need to get a copy of the novel before making your comment. A creative writer Won't Leave you in the limbo. The stolen money is a virtual currency called FLOAT "B" FUNDS. This is a fund used by different central Banks to offset international transactions. It's also what the IMF makes use of. Stealing this fund, ensures the hacker diverts into any foreign Mega Bank of his choice. In as much his tracks are well covered the chances of his getting arrested are close to zero.
