It is not the talking that matters. It is action people need. Someone might be a man of few words yet acts with precision and to point. Probably a Buhari might fall into that category. |
I was privileged to attend our mid-year celebration of the deeper life bible church on the 29th and 30th June, 2013. Prior to the meeting, the marriage ceremony of the pastor's son and his heartthrob had generated a lot of controversy. The controversy was premised on the presumed extravagant conduct of the wedding and in particular the dressing of Love Kumuyi. At the program attended over the weekend, the Man of God through the moderator debunked the allegation that he approved of the way the marriage was conducted. As a matter of fact, delegates from the headquarter church were sent ahead of the Man of God to ensure that things were done decently and in order. Information has it that the man of God on getting to the venue of the marriage was highly displeased and discontented with the conduct of the wedding and dressing of the newly wedded couples as it was at variance with what he believed, taught and stood for this past 40years in the Ministry. Pastor Kumuyi reluctantly stayed back to witness the wedding. Immediately after the ceremony, the couples were played on discipline by the church. A letter of apology was subsequently written and sent to the entire church by the couples indicating that they were sorry for their actions. This letter was publicly read to the whole church on Saturday 29th June, 2013 at about 7.00pm and it was also broadcasted. I was in that program and can confirm this. Just like every organization has its ethical standards for uniformity sake, the church also has its standards which it believes will put people on check particularly with reference to the conduct of marriage, dressing. etc. What the bible preaches is "let not your unclothedness be discovered" Moderation in all thing "because the coming of the lord is at hand". The couples obviously knew what the church stood for but they decided to deviate. Such deviation shouldn't depict the Man of God as a compromising person. He expressed his displeasure over the whole incident. Rarely would you find a man of God of this repute coming out to disapprove of his child's action. Pastor Kumuyi would not see something wrong and keep quiet. I sincerely respect his courage and believes. He is indeed a man of God. Believers today must be ready to stand for the truth whether or not it would affect our dear ones negatively. |
meant to say cover our unclothedness |
In the book of 2Peter 3: 15,16, Paul in his writings by the spirit of God wrote certain things which men who are unlearned and unstable wrest (i.e. interpret) same unto their own destruction. Many people who have made comments on this subject have done so out of ignorance. And if you are ignorant of spiritual related matters, it is advisable you pray to God to interpret his word to you. It is disheartening to note that many people make despicable utterances against the man of God and the church. On dressing, the bible teaches that we must cover our unclothedness. The bible also say that things must be done decently and in order. And that we should be sober, moderate in things we do because the coming of the lord is at hand. What both ladies have put on undoubtedly covers their unclothedness. Deeper life Bible Church uphold the doctrines on christian dressing. However some leaders may have mis- construed the teaching and set standards that have snared many members. This does not however change the standard of the word of God. The crux of the matter is that one must be careful of utterances made lest one may just be sinning against God. The man of God must attend the wedding of his child whether or not he follows his footsteps. There comes a time in life when children take full responsibility for their actions. If a child born into a godly family decides to backslide or deviate, that does not say the parents have compromised or a backslider. John Kumuyi and his wife have their own life to live. Pastor kumuyi also have his life to live. To be forewarned is to be forearmed. |
The man has done an excellent job in Lagos State. Whichever way we look at it, tax payers money is being utilized. There are other places where there has nothing to show for all allocations and taxes being collected. It is here in Nigeria that the concept of tax paying has become a nightmare and burdensome. In the advanced world and society, they all enjoy to good roads, electricity supply, reasonable cost in terms of feeding, clothing, social well-being to mention a few. All these things don't come easily. Their citizens have had course to pay the price by consistent payment of their taxes and commitment to national development. Nigeria, let's learn not to evade tax. For Nigeria to become a better place, we all must pay the price. Kudos to BRF ones again as an individual and as a learned colleague in the legal profession. |
Apparently, the young man may not have done his homework properly. If i were the one, I would rather back off completely because, for a lady to raise her hands on a man for merely proposing speaks a great volume of the kind of person she would be when the guy marries her. sorrrryyyyyyyyy sha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
If we are talking of impeachment from being the governor of the state, it is unconstitutional for the president to interfere with the affairs of a state. The president should not bring in sentiments in issues of this nature except if he has an hidden agenda. If the news flying around is anything to go by, it is better the president swallow his pride and allow the matter die a natural death. Nigerian should pray for this country and stop castigating the president. I am not a fan of any politician. My concern is that someone should be raised up who would value the interest of the populace. It is immaterial what tribe of religion such a person came from. May God help our leaders to act aright. The increase in unwarranted controversial issues is really unbecoming. |
Only God knows who is really serving him. On the preaching of the word of God, there was nothing wrong for the person to have done that. On his possession of the material (condom), there is really nothing wrong with that too. Putting it in his bible however isn't ideal because it is suggestive and even if he uses it legally, it shouldn't have been placed in a bible. Even married persons make use of it possibly to prevent child bearing when they are making love. I wonder what evidence they want to tender and which court of law would admit such. Practically, what he has done is not criminal in the eyes of the law. There is no correlation between criminality and morality. What happened was a question of morality. Nigerians should learn not to take laws into their hands. The genuineness of his calling may be in doubt but that shouldn't have warranted accosting and/or assaulting him. Let us be very careful. God is watching all. |
Don't you think someone close to her may be an accomplice afert all. Someone may have fed those miscreants with dat information. Quite unfortunately. I hope her life was right with God cos whether God's money was in her possession does not qualify her for heaven. It is well. |
It is a pathetic story. However as a minister of the gospel, and a follower of christ you are absolutely wrong for the step you took. The peace you cl a im you have mentioning the name of Jesus is blasphemous. You had better repent and as God to change your husband. Don't use your husband's misdeeds as a cloak for adultery. Repent before it's too late. ![]() |
I am a member of the deeper life bible church. The man of God (Pastor W.F. Kumuyi) is my father in the Lord and indeed a servant of the most high God. I am very sure that there are other men of God who have kept themselves from the pollutions of this world. Pastor W.F. Kumuyi happens to be one of such. He is not the only person. I however want the debunk the idea the he is being idolized. This is not true. Paul the apostle in his epistle said "be ye followers of me". Being a follower of somebody does not necessarily mean that you are idolizing the person. You can make a person your mentor. The bible approves of it. |
