Mirab was the mother of those children not Mychal..

Though not stated in the Bible it is believed that Mirab died early hence why Mychal her sister had to bring up the sons as her own..

But she never bore her own sons.
So that'll explain everything neatly.

The character progression of Mychal is what I'll love to see in the following seasons, because it always looked to me that she was kinda elitist in her remark in the Bible..

But with the way she's been in this series, she doesn't seem like someone who'd have a problem with the issue that made her come at odds with David.

It'll also be interesting to see how they deal with the fact that David was just picking up women in every part of the world he found himself seeing as they've shown him as a love struck puppy here..

The thing shock me self. Imagine comparing Conquest to Thragg, Thragg way easily overpowered Omni-Man and Invincible, papa and pikin both collect better beating.

They're lot of viltrumites who you could say are close in strength and their battles can go either way..
I.e mark, Nolan, conquest, kregg..

But you see Thragg, he pass everybody with considerable gap.

It's truly a great piece of work that highlights the travails of those who society have left behind..

It's just a 40mins watch, I promise you, it'll be worth your time.

Bane is a character he's always wanted.

I just remembered some short stories I used to buy in my Junior secondary days going to school....there's this author who focuses on a niche tales of supernatural stories/ beings or retellings. Dude loved stories about Mami Wata, Snake Girl, evil forest and the likes...those stories where gripping to me back then. Can't remember the authors name, but I knew there was a woman who sold a good number of that guys books close to my school and I saved up my excess change to buy those short story books.
E just dey pain me say I no be art student.... There were many good books I missed during my time in school cos I was a science student and we had this weird mentality of looking down on art department as the place the unambitious goes to or the unserious ones hiding place.

Those short stories could easily be turned into anthology miniseries. I wonder what a filmmaker like Mike Flanagan would do to those horror short stories about Mermaids, Snake Girl and Ogbanje and dem likes.

Yep, seems that EbonyLife/Netflix deal is dead cos there's been literally nothing like you said other than Olotúre from them. I remember that film gave me promise that we were on the right track. Never watched the part 2 cos I felt it wasn't needed. There was also King of Boys which blew me away.
I'm still surprised how Nollywood veered off of these and focused on giving us the "Jaiye Jaiye" part of life with them Chief Daddy and the likes...now Oyo Empire craze.

I think the author's name is Ben Akponine Samuel.

He wrote many of all those short children books that time.

Me I'm still praying for HBO (not Netflix) to do an Attack on Titan live action series sometime...

I believe Warner Bros were trying to purchase the rights of AOT some time ago..

So there's a good chance that if they make it a series, that can get actualised.

My biggest gripe was with the plenty explanations. The dialogue sucked big time

I believe the oversaturation of characters..

And formulaic style of season 2 is the problem.
There isn't enough intrigues like in season 1 because we're already familiar with reacher now.

By the way, not that I don't like him, I honestly like listening to him because he's always keeping it real with his topics and discussion. In a world of woke-ness, he has refused to give in and say the truth as it is no matter the backlash, I always like him for that.
I just don't find him funny at all.

I've never watched any of his specials and laughed, just some chuckles here and there. And I've watched EVERYTHING he's has put out in the last 10 years thereabout.

Note: I'll still watch this new special, just mentioned you because you said you're his number 1 fan, was surprised there's someone who actually find him funny in Nigeria.

I do find him funny and a good number of my friends also.

So I decided to start this year with probably the biggest cinematic phenomenon of 2023...

And I've gotta say, what was all the fuss about?

Trust me, I'm not one for feminist bullshit and patriarchy crap, but if you ever needed a movie to do it right and send it's message, then Barbie did it 100%.

I mean, it was a satire on our society..
Sure they amped up some of the details, but that's exactly what it was created for.

I came into this movie with my guard up, thinking I was going to see a movie about hating men, but nahh, it completely took me in the other direction.

Don't get me wrong I still cringed whenever I heard the word "patriarchy" every 20mins or so...
But it still fit into the story.

Funny enough, Ken's story is a story that I feel should resonate with many guys, I mean not feeling good enough at first, getting a false respect you think will get you the girl and then discovering that you have to live your life for you.

I mean, how the hell did people come up with it being anti-man from this.

I find it hypocritical that we often try to dictate how strong women should be written but when it comes to Men, then they have to be a certain way.

I don't know about you, but I love diversity of characters..
I love me a guy like Reacher who embodies the essence of masculinity
But I also appreciate a Ken like character who many guys can resonate with, who aspires to be more.

The Martell guys weren't even bad sef, they were just trying to put things the way they believed was right.

FINAL NOTES
The acting was very good, tho I didn't see anything from Ryan gosling and Ariella ferrera's performances that people were raving about.
I think they did their job quite well, but not awards contender level.

Maybe a rewatch will change my mind tho.

The musical numbers were all excellent

And in a period where many movies which delve into issues as Barbie did fail to stick the landing..

Barbie did an excellent job in the end of answering it's biggest questions.

• It's ok to not have it all together, but you should still strive to be better.
• And it's ok to fulfill a role like just being a mum.

I also love the fact that Barbieland wasn't just resolved into an Utopia of equality but instead a steady progression into equality which I believe our World has been moving towards.

The fact that I watched it in our family house with my mum and sister present in the final scene where Barbie touches Ruth and sees the various experiences of girls coupled with that sirene like voice of Billie eilish adding more dimensions to the emotional weight
was the icing on the cake.

I guess my only problem were with some aspects of the writing that I felt were too on the nose..

Other than that a pretty great movie in my opinion.

This has some of the best acting I've ever seen from a trailer..

This and coupled with what I have seen from the Ferrari treiler..
And with Joaquin Phoenix and Ridley Scott still coy on their cookings..

Safe to say Oppenheimer won't have it easy at the Oscars as many first thought..
